Working on conditioning, getting those hands and feet checked up 5. To go to endless consecutive finals 6. comedy, happiness and laughter is life -
The end of S83 has arrived and S83 playoffs are burning strong as we have the first (err second?) round set after the Wild Card Play-in games are done. We found time to talk to the top prospect of the Calgary Wranglers, AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment to discuss about their first playoffs in the VHL. Reporter: Hello AirRig! It's good to see you again! Congratulations on a successful rookie season in the VHL! Your first playoffs match up will be against the Toronto Legion. What are your thoughts on the match up? AG: Hello! It has been an amazing season. Definitely thought I would do better but still a good debut season. It's going to be a good series. They have a good team and we're an up and coming team so it'll be fun and a good experience! Reporter: What have you been working on to prepare for this showdown? AG: We need to play our game and work hard each shift. I've been improving my mobility and control. Lots of physical training and time in the gym. It's go time! Reporter: Best of luck in your series against the Legion! [Word count 193]

S83 Theme Week It's appreciation week! I appreciate you! And you! And definitely you! Not you. And I most definitely appreciate you I don't usually write a media spot for Theme Week so I have to start off with saying I appreciate @Daniel Janser for telling me to fulfill the S83 Theme Week requirements by "kissing up to" and "bootlicking" you peeps on VHL Now then let's begin… I appreciate @Spartan for being the first to reach out to me when I first joined VHL from randomly searching for a hockey simulation game on Google Play Appreciate for the warm welcoming effort and teaching me the basics, then trading for me and giving me a role with the Las Vegas Aces. I appreciate @Crstats23 for being a bud in the Las Vegas Aces locker room and challenging me to raise my commitment level to improve my players. I appreciate @dlamb for reaching out for the VHL S74 draft and teaching me how to build a proper scorer to dominate my draft class in S75 as a rookie member of the New York Americans. I appreciate @Esso2264 for drafting me into the VHL and teaching me tons in the world of VHL, although we did not get anywhere with the New York Americans, I still had one of the best VHL careers created as a fresh VHL rookie. Becoming a top 4 franchise records player on an Original VHL team and having an outstanding 2 points per game career average in the Playoffs. Not many players have reached such an incredible feat in the VHL. I have to give GM Esso a lot of credit regardless of the lack of playoff and regular season success as a team. I appreciate @G_Rush for being possibly my best line mate and a big reason for my first and only ever individual award. I appreciate @thadthrasher for being a great teammate and locker room enthusiastic in an underperformed New York Americans team. I appreciate @Arce and @Moon for picking me 6th Overall for S82 VHLM and giving me another chance to compete for the VHLM championship title, although unfortunately it ended up being a terrible throw and embarrassing loss; giving me a 2 for 2 in Finals Loser appearances I appreciate @BOOM for an incredible Sig which I still use right now, I need a new Sig! I appreciate @Ricer13 who put a lot of trust in me and traded up to pick me 5th Overall in the S83 VHL draft, perhaps saving me from another run with the New York Americans. I appreciate @Shindigs for selecting me for the S82 World Juniors Championships Team Canada and help give me my first championship title and gold medal (although it won't show up in the records) I appreciate my S83 teammates in the Calgary Wranglers locker room @Jamomayo, @Lazarus, @Daniel Janser, @Phil, @DollarAndADream , @Big Bob, @Ben, @efiug, @jacobcarson877, @leandrofg, @assassin6898 I appreciate @Beketov and the BOG for the hard work in all the behind the scenes running the VHL. And of course I appreciate @everyone (no I'm not tagging @ Members, that'll cause a major problem ) for making the VHL community such an enjoyable place to be a part of. Without everyone's enthusiasm, we won't be able to hold this league and this source of "entertainment". Let's keep up the good work and until next time we have another Appreciation Week! S83 VHL Fourth Featured Game We are back for another session of our Season 83 VHL Featured Games. For our fourth featured game of Season 83 in the VHL, we have Season Game #538, a matchup between the visiting HC Davos Dynamo and the home team, Seattle Bears. On Pro Day 133, we end the day with an affair between the top team in the North American Conference and rebuilding tank of the European Conference. A clash between opposite pillars of two conferences and a very expected result. Let's look back at the dominance of a team destined to be a favourite in the upcoming Season 83 playoffs! The home team, Seattle Bears, came to play tonight, as the Seattle Bears came out flying in their Game 68 of season 83. Hulk Hogan 2 @Hogan opens the scoring for the Seattle Bears with their 11th goal of the season at 7:51 into the first period. And Seattle quickly doubled their lead at 10:24 with the 11th goal of the season from Maximus Decimus Meridius @Beaviss. The high flying Bears storming the Dynamo zone with steer dominance giving goaltender Boris Tsezar @comrade cat from the HC Davos Dynamo a very busy and tough first period. And (Boris) Tsezar was up for the task, keeping HC Davos in the game! Phoenix Dawson @Toast, the veteran center of the HC Davos Dynamo, scores late in the first period to cut the high tempo Bears' lead in halve making the game 2 - 1. (Phoenix) Dawson's 19th goal of the season comes at 17:55 in the first period, and it was only HC Davo's 2nd shot of the period. The first period of play ended with the Seattle Bears leading 2 - 1, after outshooting the Dynamo with a shot count of 24 to 2. A brilliant period for (Boris) Tsezar, who was by far the busier goaltender. Seattle Bears' Zeedayno Chara @Jubis scores a milestone goal to regain Seattle's lead to 2 goals at 5:45 in the second period. This would be (Zeedayno) Chara's 50th of the season and a valuable one to make it a 3 - 1 game, especially when the HC Davos Dynamo seem to have gained a lot of confidence from (Boris) Tsezar's incredible first period play. HC Davos came out flying in the second period, but to no avail as they showed a different confidence and dominated the offensive zone in the second period. It was not until Maximus Decimus Meridius scores their second of the night, a power play goal at 8:43 in the second period, were the Dynamo's spirit finally torn from their bench. The second period ended with the Seattle Bears leading 4 - 1. A period where the Seattle Bears were surprisingly hammered in their own zone as they were outshot 13 to 6 by the HC Davos Dynamo. The Seattle Bears reclaimed their dominance in the third period, and (Boris) Tsezar continued their spectacular play, making stops left and right. No goals were scored in the third period as the Bears dominated the Dynamo 14 to 5 in shots, and ending the game with 44 shots to Dynamo's 20 shots. Final score Seattle 4 - HC Davos 1. 3 Stars of the game (as voted by the play by play enthusiastics at the game) 1 - Zeedayno Chara (SEA) - 1 goal, 2 assists, 4 shots, 4 hits, 28 for 46 face offs won, +1 2 - Max Torq @Steve (SEA) - 2 assists, 3 shots, 7 hits, 6 shots blocked, + 1 3 - β-SEA G (SEA) - Seattle backup goaltender making 19 of 20 saves in the win Honourably mentioned and game notes Boris Tsezar (DAV) saved 40 of 44 shots in the loss Maximus Decimus Meridius scored 2 goals and added 1 assist on 3 shots and led the game with 7 PIMs AJ Williams @ajwllmsn led all players with 14 shots Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems @FrostBeard dominated the faceoff circle, winning 29 of 38 faceoffs [Total Word Count 664]

AirRig GoodBrandSun had a respectable, yet disappointing stint in the development minor league VHLM. Known for being the big stay-at-home defensive defenseman who would chip in offensively when given the chance and be a big net front presence on the power play. Some even say AirRig GoodBrandSun fits well as "the Big Pylon Defender", an immovable big butt in front of the opposing net. As a member of the VHLM Las Vegas Aces (S81) and VHLM Houston Bulls (S82), AirRig GoodBrandSun had experienced back to back VHLM Championship Finals and also back to back tragic and tear jerking losses. AirRig GoodBrandSun however did win the attention of @Shindigs and was selected to play for Team Canada in the World Junior Championships in S82, where AirRig GoodBrandSun played a soundless tournament, playing as a defensive anchor which saw 0 points in 8 round robin games, before scoring a big elimination match goal to help Team Canada bring home the Gold in S82. Follow bringing home the Gold, AirRig GoodBrandSun garnered lots of interest in the S83 VHL entry draft with multiple projections for AirRig GoodBrandSun to be drafted in the top 5 of the S83 VHL draft and was even projected as high as #3 by one mock draft. AirRig GoodBrandSun received many pre-draft workout invitations and had earned a lot of interest from Calgary Wranglers GM @Ricer13, who eventually traded up to #5 to draft AirRig GoodBrandSun with the 5th Overall Selection in the S83 VHL entry draft. Joining a young and forwards heavy Calgary Wranglers team, AirRig GoodBrandSun received a quick call up to start the season with the Big Club in S83. A quick VHL call up, skipping the opportunity to develop in the European league of the VHLE. AirRig GoodBrandSun has a lot of expectations to perform well as the defensive anchor for the Calgary Wranglers. As the Wranglers' top defensive prospect and top defenseman, expectations are through the roof. While GM @Ricer13 held expectations to a minimum, AirRig GoodBrandSun believed that he would flourish in Season 83 in the VHL, where he'll be given all the ice time a rookie defender could care for. While most rookie defenders would want and need time to adjust, make mistakes, and develop. There is no time to waste for AirRig GoodBrandSun as he's thrown right into the wolves den to play top line minutes in all situations of the game! Fans expectations could be said to be rather lenient as nobody could expect a rookie defensive defenseman to put up many points, if any for the matter. But AirRig GoodBrandSun had given himself an expectation to put up a show for the VHL and the Wranglers fans. We will leave it to the audience to say whether AirRig GoodBrandSun is meeting, or perhaps even exceeding regular expectations as a rookie defender on a young and growing Calgary Wranglers team. Perhaps expectation is for winning the Rookie of the Year and a VHL cup finals appearance to match his current pedigree of making it to 2 championship finals in 2 season played. [Word Count 512]

We are finally at the final stretch of S83 in the VHL. With trade deadline right around the corner, we found time to talk to the top prospect of the Calgary Wranglers, AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. Reporter: Hello AirRig! It's good to see you again! You had an exciting past week, scoring 2 goals and adding 13 assists in the week's 15 games, going point per game in that stretch. How do you feel about your game up to this point? AG: Hello again. I had a good week. We played some meaningful games this week and we know there's a lot of work to do. Lot's to improve on and a long way to go. Lots of games left to be played. Reporter: What are your thoughts on how your team has played and what do you think will happen to the team come trade deadline in a couple days time? How are you preparing for the final stretch of the season? AG: We're playing better as a group as we've continually built chemistry. I feel we may have a pretty quiet deadline. There are lots to work on. I'm working on my conditioning, got to get faster and work on those hands. Reporter: Thank you! Best of luck in your remaining season! [word count 214]

We are just past the midway mark of Season 83. With trade deadline quickly coming and the final stretch of the season to follow, we found time to talk to a top prospect and S83 rookie, AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. Reporter: Hello AirRig! It's good to see you again! Tell us about how you are feeling about your game in the VHL with the Calgary Wranglers! Where do you feel you stand currently in your rookie season? What part of your game are you working on right now? AG: Hello. It's been a tough season so far. I've fallen behind in the Rookie of the Year race but that's okay, there's still a lot of time remaining in the season and I've had a pretty good week! There's a lot of improvement to go around. I've been working hard to improve my offensive game. I will need to work on my skating and puck handling. I cannot be a pylon out there! Reporter: You've fallen out of the top 10 in the Rookie leader board. What are you doing to help your cause toward the Rookie of the Year race? AG: Like I've said previously, I just got to play my game. My game is not just scoring points. I design my game to be defensive first. I play a strong defensive and physical game. I had a pretty nice week, just got to do a bit better next week, and then a bit better than that the following. Reporter: Best of luck in the second half! [word count 257]

S83 VHL Third Featured Game We are back for another session of our Season 83 VHL Featured Games. For our third featured game of Season 83 in the VHL, we have Season Game #312, a matchup between the visiting Malmo Nighthawks and the home team, Prague Phantoms. This Pro Day 79 game was one of high tempo and feistiness, with neither teams' goaltenders doing well in this game. Mason Jones @Masu Chan breaks the ice and opens the scoring for the Malmo Nighthawks 4:33 into the first period. (Mason) Jones' 6th of the season. Baby Bob @Baby Boomer ties up the game 1 - 1 for the Prague Phantoms with their 18th of the season at 8:19, and then Druss Deathwalker @animal74 reclaims the lead for the Nighthawks at 12:30 with their 21st goal of Season 83. And then the game action got rough… it all started with a Roughing minor penalty by Prague Phantoms' Asher Reinhart @rjfryman at 14:18 of the first period. Things got spicier and feistier as the period went on, until everything escalated to a climax at 19:13, the last minute of play of the first period. Luc Tessier (PRG) @KC15 for Fighting (Major) at 19:13, Dabnad Shaw (MAL) @Dabnad for Fighting (Major) at 19:13, Luc Tessier (PRG) for instigated a fight (Game Misconduct) at 19:13, Darth Kaprizov (PRG) @Darth Kaprizov for Fighting (Major) at 19:13, Igor Molotov (MAL) @Dom for Fighting (Major) at 19:13, Igor Molotov (MAL) for instigated a fight (Game Misconduct) at 19:13, Nathan Powers (PRG) @JB123 for Slashing (Minor) at 19:13, Asher Reinhart (PRG) for Roughing (Minor) at 19:13, Miroslav Tsarov (MAL) @PadStack for Roughing (Minor) at 19:13, Obi Adesanya (MAL) @atw2592 for Slashing (Minor) at 19:13, Baby Bob (PRG) for Hooking (Minor) at 19:13. (Editor's note: what the heck happened here!?! We basically had a line brawl and with all the Slashing minors, did we have a lightsaber duel or something? Kind of late to be celebrating Star Wars day!) First period ended with the Malmo Nighthawks leading 2 - 1 against the Prague Phantoms from a 11 to 5 shot on goal effort. The Prague Phantoms had an additional man in the penalty box to end the period, giving the Nighthawks a power play to start heading into the second period. Nathaniel Minion @Minion cashes in on the end of first period fiasco for the Malmo Nighthawks to give the Nighthawks a 3 - 1 at 0:26 into the second period. (Nathaniel) Minion's 18th goal of the season, a power play goal. Darth Kaprizov charges out of the penalty box after serving their Fighting major at 4:13 for their first shift since the end of the first period. (Darth) Kaprizov was in a very foul mood after taken a beat down from (Igor) Molotov and decided to take out their frustration with a Roughing minor penalty at 4:31. Back to the penalty box goes (Darth) Kaprizov. A much needed time out to cool off and think about what an idiot move that was to need to return to "jail". Nathaniel Minion extends the NightHawks' lead to 4 - 1 with their 19th of the season and second of the game at 10:23 into the second period, and then Druss Deathwalker follows suit with their second of the night as well, giving the Nighthawks a commanding 5 - 1 lead just over 2 minutes after (Nathaniel) Minion's goal at 12:24. This is (Druss) Deathwalker's team leading 22nd of the season. The game finally settles down after this as the fans became quiet as mice after the roaring frenzy of the first period. The Malmo Nighthawks lead 5 - 1 over the Prague Phantoms as they head into the second intermission. Nighthawks outshot the Phantoms 12 to 9 in the second period. As a veteran VHL team playing at home in front of their hometown fans, the Prague Phantoms did not give up and tried their best to stage a comeback with their experience and poise. Asher Reinhart tried to redeem themselves by scoring their 11th of the season at 5:39 into the third period. A shorthanded goal for the Phantoms, while (Nathan) Powers sat quietly in the penalty box for an Interference minor taken at 4:56 in the third period. Baby Bob scores their second of the night and 19th of the season to make it a 5 - 3 game cutting down the Nighthawks lead to 2 for Prague Phantoms. However this is as far as they go as the comeback comes back short even after a valiant third period effort by the Phantoms. The Prague Phantoms outshot the Malmo Nighthawks 17 to 8 in the third period to tie up the shot count at 31 to 31. Unfortunately for the Prague Phantoms, it was still too big of a hill to climb. The Malmo Nighthawks take it with 5 - 3 Victory. Barry Taffe @Barry stops 28 of 31 shots for the Nighthawks to earn their 11th win of the season. David Davis @Josh backstopped 26 of 31 shots in the Prague Phantom loss. 3 Stars of the game (as voted by the broadcasting crew at the game) 1 - Druss Deathwalker (MAL) - 2 goals, 2 assists, 4 points, 5 shots, 6 hits, +2 2 - Nathaniel Minion (MAL) - 2 goals, 6 shots, 1 hit, +3 3 - Mason Jones (MAL) - 1 goal, 2 assists, 3 points, 6 shots, +2 Honourably Mentioned and Editor Notes: · Baby Bob (PRG) had 2 goals, 5 shots, 3 hits, and was a +2 · Perry Laperriere (PRG) @KaleebtheMighty won 22 of 34 face offs (64.7%) · Malmo Nighthawks were perfect on the Penalty Kill, stopping 1 for 1 and scored 1 power play goal (1 for 5, 20% PP efficiency) · First Period 19:13 fiasco was called for as a General Fight Luc Tessier (PRG) and Dabnad Shaw (MAL) fight to a draw Luc Tessier (PRG) for instigated a fight (Game Misconduct) Luc Tessier (PRG) ejected from game at 19:13 of first period Igor Molotov (MAL) beats up Darth Kaprizov (PRG) Igor Molotov (MAL) for instigated a fight (Game Misconduct) Igor Molotov (MAL) ejected from game at 19:13 of first period Igor Molotov (MAL) and Luc Tessier (PRG) each had 17 penalty minutes and a Game Misconduct [Word count 1047] [Claim for weeks ending 2022-05-08 and 2022-05-15]

We are a third into Season 83 and player and team standings are starting to take shape. We found time to talk to a top prospect and S83 rookie, AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. Reporter: Hello AirRig! It's good to see you again! It's been a tough week of hockey for the Calgary Wranglers. How are you finding the VHL? And what do you think could be done to help turn the season around for the Wranglers before it's too late to make amends? AG: Hello. Yes, it has not been a terrific week. We need to tighten up the defense and give some more goal support to help out Ben (Dahl) @Ben. I've my share of struggles so far in the VHL, but I've been playing as expected so just got to continue working hard and playing my game. Hopefully I could chip in some more to help the team out. Reporter: You've really fallen behind in the Rookie of the Year race. What are your thoughts? AG: I'm in the top 10 of the Rookie leader board so far. Just got to grind away and play my game. Hopefully people see what's my game is worth, which is not just scoring points but also being excellent defensively and physically. If I get myself back above point per game, I’ll be in good shape. Reporter: Best of luck out there! [word count 230]

Game 6 in the Season 83 VHL schedule, a match between the Visiting New York Americans and the Home Team, Calgary Wranglers. After the beautifully sung American and Canadian National Anthems, we have puck drop in Calgary, Alberta. Big power forward, Phil The Rock Johnson @Phil opens the scoring for the Wranglers in his final season in the VHL, 1:25 into the first period. On the other side of the spectrum, we have the first career VHL game for Rookie Defenseman AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment, Calgary Wranglers' 5th overall draft pick in the recent Season 83 VHL entry draft (and the 5th overall draft pick that originally belonged to the New York Americans), who acquires his first career VHL point with an assist on the goal by The Rock. The teams followed up by trading a pair of penalties each before Daniel Janser @Daniel Janser scores his first of Season 83 at 17:31 to extend the Wranglers' lead to 2 - 0. Tyler Reinhart @Zetterberg quickly gets one back for the New York Americans at 19:02 in the first to cut the Wranglers' lead to 2 - 1 heading into the 1st intermission. Lots of on ice pressure by the Wranglers and then Tyler Reinhart scores his second of the game at 9:53 to make it a 5 - 2 game lead for the Wranglers. S83 VHL First Featured Game Welcome to the new season! Today we have our first featured game of Season 83 and we get our first look at the new Hybrid rules, when results actually matter. Our first featured game of Season 83 in the VHL is of course the first game of the season in the VHL. We have a match between the Helsinki Titans and the HC Davos Dynamo. We had a sneak peek preview of what life would feel like with the new Hybrid rules during the Season 83 Preseason, now we see the results after preliminary adjustments by the coaching staffs of each team as we enter the territory of games that matter. From game one we see a tight and heavy defensive game with spectacular goaltending that leads to a 3 - 2 victory by HC Davos over Helsinki. The first goal of the new VHL season, Season 83, comes at 5:55 into the first period for the Helsinki Titans from a goal by the Florida Man @zepheter. A dry and defensive game follows for the remainder of the first period. We saw a relatively low action first period which ended with the Dynamo outshooting the Titans 9 to 7, but falling behind 1 - 0. Both teams were perfect on the penalty kill, with Helsinki taking two penalties and HC Davos taking one. Flynn Remy @jhatty8 takes a costly penalty for the Titans 4:18 into the second period. A High sticking minor, and their second minor penalty of the game. The Titans were not so perfect on the Penalty Kill this time around as David Tavau @Ahma tugs it home for the Dynamo's first goal of Season 83. A power play marker at 5:51 into the second period. Titans outshoot the Dynamo 10 to 7 in the period, but ironically, or perhaps coincidentally, the only goal goes to the team whom shot less in the period. Game tied 1 - 1 after 2. The game takes up pace in the third period with the teams trading early third period goals at 0:39 and 0:51 into the third period respectively. David Tavau scores their 2nd of the game and season to take a short lived first lead for the Dynamo with Gustislav Nasherov @Vat quickly tying the game back up to make it 2 - 2. The Titans began to increase their tempo and taking over the game with a more aggressive approach, but with added aggression comes increased risk of getting too aggressive. Alessandro Nano @leafsman did just that what an aggressive Roughing minor penalty at the 14:50 mark of the third period. A essay for school and also a media spot
Rhynex Entertainment replied to Ben's topic in Archived Media Spots
Enjoyable read! Unique freestyle topic for a school essay (if this is actually an essay for class). For the display of a media spot, could have used Bold for the titles and subtitles. Good use of spacing, paragraphing for media spot, however if this is an actual essay for school, beware of spelling mistakes and other sentence structure issues (I've found a few). This essay submission would probably be around a 2 or 3 on the LPI marking criteria (at least during my school years). For school, the simplest essays come in the format of 1 + 3 + 1, but 1 + 4 + 1 also works. Usually you would explain what your body paragraphs (in your case middle 4 paragraphs) would be talking about in your introduction. Normally you would not have an entire paragraph written specifically about your topic and then have other paragraphs talking about not your topic (in this case, we are assuming your topic is your title: "The Benefits of Playing Hockey Simulations". Your entire essay should be based on that topic. All in all for a media spot it's a good read! 8/10
