  1. I'm glad STHS didn't rig the series and the team that should have won the series 100% managed to win it. Shoulda been a sweep of course.
  2. Oh the stress of an actual close game for Saskatoon must have almost been too much for you.
  3. Good series! HUGE upset for the 21st! We put our trust in @ROOKIE745 and it all paid off in the end! @BigBallerFromDownUnder with 13 points in six games, and @Gwdjohnson added another 11 to carry us through. Solid contributions from @Doomsday, @LefLop and @DaftRaincloud definitely helped along the way. Also had some great defensive play from @Lockdown Defense.
  4. I think this may lead to Hall of Fame voters needing to change the way they look at voting. There was a discussion going on in Discord a couple of days ago about thresholds for players making it and the combination of lower rookie impact as well as lower league scoring makes it seem like no one will hit those.
  5. People still falling for Robbie's shtick after all of these years.
  6. We got this boys Although seeing Dil lose in 7 again would be almost as good as a win.
  7. Downey Coming of Age in Wolves Playoff Matchup Vancouver, British Columbia – Vancouver Wolves defenseman Jeff Downey got off to a slow start this season but after refocusing his training onto the passing side of his game his offensive game has taken off. This could not be more evident than it has been in their current playoff matchup against the Toronto Legion. Downey has grabbed six assists in the five games played and has been a pivotal part of the team taking a 3-2 series lead into game six. ‘It has been great. I talked to a good friend of mine, Jerry Garcia, about halfway through the season and he gave me some points on what I should do to turn my game around. I took that advice to heart and the second half of my season has by far been the best part of my career so far. The playoffs are where it has all really come together and I think it will only go up from here. The puck is feeling great on my stick and my passes are finding holes they weren’t before.’ Although the Wolves hold a 3-2 series lead against Toronto they will likely want to close the series out in game six to avoid the stress of a game seven.
  8. I think HHH could be coming home with a lot of hardware! Probably Freeman. That guy had an incredible year. While I started off slow I actually improved very much as the season wore on. I improved by 17 points from my rookie year so that is definitely a big positive. We are winning a championship. Greg Eagles. We need to keep up the scoring we had in the regular season and continue to have great goaltending from Greg Eagles.
  9. First signature in a very long time. I tried to add some subtle effects to the render but obviously have a lot to learn. The thing that took a real long time on this was making that font look the way it does. Probably going to get slagged for this one but it took me a long time. @Spyro
  10. A protest with no outward message is hardly a protest at all.
  11. Yes. You can claim them immediately. Reviews are just something people do for TPE.

  13. Here is mine. Probably just $100 I'd spend on Labatt Blue and pizza so someone else can put it to better use ?
  14. Unsung Hero – Greg Eagles The Vancouver Wolves are coming to the end of a very successful regular season. After a disappointing follow-up to their championship winning S67 run which saw the team finishing seventh in the league standings and being eliminated in the first round of the playoffs, the Wolves came back with perseverance and finished atop the league standings. While many have pointed to the resurgent offense with such contributors as HHH, Julius Freeman and Shawnomir Jagr, and often overlooked and underappreciated piece of the puzzle is their goaltender Greg Eagles. Coming into his third season with the Vancouver Wolves, and his second as full-time starter, Eagles had something to prove to his teammates. And prove his skill to them he did. He managed to improve his save percentage from 90.2% last season all the way to 91.7% this year. Another impressive change was his goals against average which dropped from 2.85 all the way down to 2.3. Greg Eagles, while still not at the skill level of the top flight guys, is poised to become a true superstar at the position in the near future. It would only cement his turnaround season if he were able to continue to play his unsung hero role and play a part in a potential championship run for the Vancouver Wolves. @Greg_Di
  15. I could not be much happier with it I don't think. While I would like to see some better offensive numbers the Wolves' season could not have gone much better than it did. First place in the league baby. Let's bring it all home in the playoffs! HHH has been truly pivotal in our team being tops in the league this year. I think it could be his award to win. I would have to say HHH but we have a lot of good players. @HulkHogan - I'm the real champ Gotta stick with my squad here, the Vancouver Wolves. Riga has looked very strong down the stretch here. Excellent idea and it has kept people engaged throughout. Me personally? Working. Only day I get off is Christmas day. I could do with a new hockey stick. I am a 29 year old electrical engineer who wants nothing more in life than to farm.
  16. Unsung Heroes – The Defensive Defensemen of the VHL There is no doubt about it in my mind… defense may win championships but offense wins adoration. This is no more obvious in this sport than in the case of the defensive defenseman. While they aren’t going to get too much notice around the league because of their lack of scoring they are willing to put their bodies on the line game in and game out in order to keep the puck out of their own team’s net. In this article I will be highlighting some of these players to get them the recognition I believe they deserve. Name: Seabass Perrin @Sebster03 Team: Shots Blocked: 146 (2nd) Hits Given: 157 (35th) Points: 22 (115th) Seabass Perrin of the Prague Phantoms may be the most evident case of a defensive defenseman in the Victory Hockey League. Drafted 17th overall by the Prague Phantoms in the VHL draft he has played a strong defensive role since day one with the team. Although he does have some skill on the offensive side of the puck he combines his great skating ability with his penchant for getting in passing and shooting lanes to make himself one of the better defensive players in the entire league. Some people do say that adding more of an offensive flair to his game would greatly increase his value to his team there is no sign that this is the way he is moving with his training as he continues to improve in his own end. Look for Perrin to be near the top of the shots blocked rankings for the duration of his career. Name: Tony Bolonee @Tbeez99 Team: Shots Blocked: 112 (21st) Hits Given: 182 (27th) Points: 24 (110th) While his shots blocked numbers may not be quite as impressive as the aforementioned Seabass Perrin there is no doubt that Tony Bolonee is out on the ice every night putting his body on the line. He ranks a very respectable 21st in shots blocked and 27th in hits given among all players while playing for one of the worst VHL squads in recent memory. Despite the fact that the HC Davos Dynamo’s games haven’t had much meaning when it comes to the playoffs almost since day one Bolonee continues to go on the ice and throw himself around with no worry for his own health. If the Dynamo can improve going forward I have no doubt that someone like Bolonee could be a solid defensive piece for a contending team. Name: Ricky Johnson @Midnite Team: Shots Blocked: 111 (23rd) Hits Given: 154 (38th) Points: 26 (107th) Ricky Johnson has been a staple on the DC Dragons blue line this season. I have already seen him mentioned as an unsung hero elsewhere but that doesn’t change the impact he has had for that team. Ricky Johnson was drafted by the DC Dragons with the 18th, one pick after Seabass Perrin, and has proven to be a great pick in the second round for the Dragons. While, much like Perrin, some critics have said that they would like to see Johnson focus on the offensive side of the puck in his training there is no doubt that his defensive style is appreciated by his teammates. His selfless style of play has earned him respect around the league. -560 Words-
