He actually pedigree’d a kid, I saw it with my own eyes

Vancouver Wolves Visit BC Children’s Hospital Vancouver, British Columbia – This past Sunday the Vancouver Wolves held their first ever charity fundraiser and silent auction at the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. Not only was this an opportunity for the public to come in and bid on various items, it was an opportunity for the children of the hospital to meet their favourite Wolves players. Items up for auction ranged from signed equipment to private box ticket packages with all proceeds going to the BC Children’s Hospital. Throughout the day different Wolves players went and visited with the children throughout the hospital. We caught up with Wolves’ defenseman Jeff Downey to chat about his experience. ‘It was something else, I have to say. Seeing the smiles on all of those children’s faces when we went into their rooms really made the experience incredible. It just feels good to be able to bring joy to the children there. I hope we can do this again in the future.’ The Vancouver Wolves have said that they are planning on making this into a yearly event and will be looking to expand the auction packages even further in the future. In total the Wolves managed to raise about $150,000 for the hospital through the auction.

Jeff Downey, Vancouver Wolves, Off to Hot Start Vancouver, British Columbia – There were some questions about the Vancouver Wolves coming into the season that some analysts were not sure how they would answer. Sure they still had great depth at most positions but teams generally don’t cope well after losing their top defender to retirement. It seems like it really hasn’t affected the Vancouver Wolves all that much so far as they have jumped out to a lead in the league standings largely on a balanced offensive attack and some players stepping up on defense. ‘It has been amazing to see how this team has adapted to the change in personnel this season.’ Wolves’ defenseman Jeff Downey said, ‘We are getting scoring from everywhere. Brock Louth has really stepped into his new role as my partner very well, and Tzuyu has come in and is playing like the superstar defender they are. Of course up front the forwards are playing like they always do. Another big thing is on the back end. Not only is Eagles playing the same way he always does, but our new backup Jimmy Spyro posted a shutout in his very first game. It is incredible how everything is working.’

I thought they were all solid. Hard to see some guys go but I think the team has definitely gotten better. I'm really hoping myself. This start to the season has been great for me and I hope to keep it up. Our offense for sure. We score in bunches. Becoming a more physical defender. Brock Louth and myself are going to make a killer second pairing. Probably Berocka Sundqvist or Jerry Garcia. They are good friends of mine.
