  1. Heads up to commishes: Moved him myself to Riga so I could update him
  2. Player Name: Gabriel McAllister VHL Team: Seattle Bears Cash you have: $1M S54 VHLM + $4M S56 = $5M Purchase Name: Experience Points +10 Cost of Purchase: $5M Cash Left: $0
  3. Just a note: I'll probably be starting European Conference updates around 6-7 pm ET or so, because I want to get them all done before Game of Thrones. So get stuff in before then
  4. Cost isn't really an issue, as far as I know. The VHL's sitting on some donation cash, whatever hasn't already been eaten up by the hookers and blow party. I know we've tried Facebook recruitment and ad campaigns, but how targeted was that? Can do some cool things to target only self-identified hockey fans, or fans of certain teams, etc.
  5. Some don't agree with how you do this, but I get straight and meditate like a Buddhist
  6. Welcome to my world in the S48 Shaw I still maintain I was robbed.
  7. Man, if only there was a team whose recent draft pick goalie hasn't been online recently and is looking to be a playoff contender in a season or two #nottampering
  8. I think I put it in Anonymous mode for some reason a bit ago and I never log out and am too lazy to change it
  9. Is there any way to adjust USA's lines? Because losing is one thing, but getting blown out and not scoring against some of these goalies is another.
  10. Between this one and Riga selling the farm, I'm doing pretty damn good with my media spot predictions.
  11. Did $20 for S56 Free Week 5 TPE Doubles Week Doubles Week
  12. Saskatoon (AP) -- It was a season in the making, and Gabriel McAllister even doubted at times that they would get there. But following Game 4 in Las Vegas, he realized that he had gotten to the goal: he had won the VHLM championship. Well, to say that he did it may be a misnomer. It was a full team effort from the Wild, as numerous players grew throughout the season and stepped up in the playoffs, including fellow winger Daring Do, goalie Brienne O’Tarth, and newcomer defenseman Boner. It only took six games for the Wild to get past the number two seed Ottawa Lynx, then they swept the four seed Las Vegas Aces in four games to get revenge from last year’s finals. “This is awesome, so awesome,” McAllister said while being soaked with sparkling cider in the locker room after the game. “So much work, and so much we put into this, and it’s finally here. We did it!” McAllister only had two goals in the finals, but they were crucial ones: OT game winners in both Game 3 and Game 4 to take the title. Especially combined with his Game 6 OT winner against Ottawa, McAllister was particularly clutch in this series. And with a VHLM-leading 21 points and second-best 9 goals, it’s entirely possible that McAllister wins his second straight playoff MVP award. And for the Warren agency, this title was a long time coming. Committed to only having one player at a time, with a break in between, the agency had not had a VHLM title to its name since Season 32 (Oslo’s last championship). Hans Wingate lost in the semifinals both of his VHLM seasons. Now, with McAllister poised to go to the VHL, he is able to leave the minors on a high note and hopefully continue this success in the next phase of his career.
  13. What's Next for the Tankers? A lottery is by nature a crapshoot, a leap of faith. This season, three VHL teams made a leap of faith and semi-tanked for the highest draft pick possible, with Cologne, Seattle and Riga diving in head-first to try and win the first pick in the draft. The only problem was, each of them (along with Toronto, who didn’t tank) had a chance to win that first pick. The mood was tense in the weeks leading up to the lottery, postponed until after the playoffs’ conclusion for the first time in recent memory. It was even tenser as the commissioner’s office pulled out the envelope that would decide the first pick. And it was… Seattle. Obviously, nothing is assured, and Seattle could very well decide that Aackckqz Ky is the future of the VHL and take him first. But for the purposes of this article, I’m going to assume that Gabriel McAllister will go first. So here’s a look at what changed for the three tanking teams as a result of that lottery. Seattle Bears Getting McAllister could be a franchise changer for the Bears, and I don’t even think that’s really an exaggeration. Seattle has only won one championship since Season 30 expansion, and that was the Season 43 title that some observers have viewed as one of the most surprising championship runs in VHL history. Though there have been sustained periods of Seattle playoff runs, they have very rarely translated to even finals appearances in recent days, let alone titles. Now, the Bears have their basis for making a run. I don’t think the team is quite there yet – McAllister, Forsberg, Laflamme, Perought and Federov are a hell of a core, but all those players are still young. Especially if Calgary plays true to form and continues to contend to compete, I see Seattle looking similarly to S55 Toronto: competitive, but not quite there yet. But with a few more pieces and consistent growth, the latter end of the 50’s could turn into a yearly Toronto-Seattle battle, with McAllister part of a formidable Seattle top line. Cologne Express The theme for the Cologne Express has been delay and amass. The team has picked up extra first round picks and retired former GM players in an attempt to build a massive army, but losing McAllister may delay that process even further. Ay Ay Ron would be a franchise defenseman at the number two pick – as long as he doesn’t get designated as a GM player. Still, it's hard to build around a defenseman. And outside of him, the pick would be… the random Ky? The inactive Fook? Honestly, it’s probably Komarov, who would require another year in the VHLM. The Express will get there in time, and the GM has demonstrated that he’ll do whatever it takes to amass pieces for the franchise. But, in the end, some drafts are better than others. And with the GM player now coming in Season 57 as compared to 56, and the fifth pick not likely to yield an immediate star, it’s still going to be another couple of seasons before Cologne has the pieces to field a competitive roster (free agency surprises not withstanding). Riga Reign Honestly, the situation for Riga intrigues me even more than Cologne, because the team might move into playoff contention by default if Stockholm’s new GM decides to sell. The team has Krigars moving into a prime contract, King and Aleksei in their third year after the draft, and Bogdanovic ready to jump into the VHL with a bang. The time might be now for Riga to make a move, whether they feel they’re truly ready or not. As explored before, McAllister would have been the perfect complementary piece to Krigars and Aleksei. Now, I fully expect the team to explore the trade market for that piece – and it likely won’t come cheap. New York and Stockholm’s older players are names to watch here, and both the third pick in this draft and firsts the next two seasons would be in play in that case. I said before that Toronto might be the most active team this offseason out of necessity, and Calgary is there too – but Riga is certainly one to watch from the European Conference.
  14. Been a pleasure playing with you as well! Go Wild!
  15. Seconding this. The thing I currently dislike the most about the EFL.
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Holy shit, I apparently really did update the Clutch rating. Was not expecting a sweep at all, but well done Saskatoon! Feels awesome to have this one under my belt, first VHLM title for me in 20+ seasons.
  17. First goal of the finals and it's an OT winner, same as Game 6 of the semis. Updated that Clutch rating apparently.
  18. Congrats Smarch! Definitely picked a good person for the job. Also, inb4 Vegas wins 4 straight and no Game 7 is needed.
  19. Oh damn, that's one way to start a finals. Do making a run for that Playoff MVP again.
