  1. First of all: *I'm pretending to be shocked* I thought Snatch would take it, but this is even better. Second of all: QUE, not RIG.
  2. Perhaps he meant there's an expansion coming up
  3. To Rights to RFA: Rudy Ying To S57 HSK 1st Not the most likely trade for me, but it was kinda @punkhippie's wish so it is what it is. Accept. @Higgins
  4. Inb4 @Banackock drafts Aye Aye first OV.
  5. To Luigi De Rossi To S58 RIG 2nd Depth. Accept. Come back @KitRas @Bushito
  6. Treating my picks like Accept. Welcome to the team, @Devise @gorlab @Phil @der meister!
  7. Doubles week for Krīgars, this week.
  8. *S55* I'm glad this season is over. The only bad thing is I don't like how this season ended, but I'll talk about it later. I really don't liked the S55 - this is not how VHL supposed to celebrate the 10 year anniversary. Ok, the celebration things for TPE were nice and all this helped the league as some new members didn't leave immediately after creating their player and the some old members also came back. I'm hoping the next season is going to be more entertaining as we got new commish in @Smarch and we will see the updated version of forum. I hope there won't be that ''clubs'' section as this is too inconvenient and I'm too lazy to make a one more click to see an LR. But let's go back to S55 and name reason why it was trash: *Low activity. It all started in S55 off-season with an average FA class when only Maxwell was a world class player there. But she stayed in NY and that killed all excitement about the S55 FA. We also had a meh trade period when only a conflcit between @punkhippie, @Kendrick and @BobertZ had a potential to shake things, but it ended with a trade that very few cared about. Yes, we had a good draft, but it didn't save that off-season from failure. And it continued in S55 when activity continued to fade away. Summertime sadness, summer bummer, or whatever you want to call it - this was just sad. And the trade deadline period was the final blow to this season: 0 trades! That's just ridiculous. *VHLM. The things started to heat up after Quill's call-up. There were some discussions happening after that and something was telling us this league became too boring and we need to cut it. These talks didn't last long, but this wasn't the best period the VHLM league ever had. Probably we still need to change system there, but that's up to BoG and commishes. *Helsinki won again. Let's face it, all this two-peat and three-peat stuff is becoming boring. I could get behind Toronto's triple - it's the first and only of it's kind. But then we have NY getting their double to make it three cups in 7 seasons and Helsinki making the second two-peat in 10 seasons. Parity? I don't know that word, we have three teams ruling the VHL now with only Riga being on their way with the S51 win and even there they only barely beat Toronto in finals to prevent a potential four-peat. This season? I wanted to Quebec or Stockholm to take the cup, because it's so exciting to see new ''faces'' being successful, but what we have now? Helsinki won once again and it was a meh result. No excitement, only the whole Helsinki squad and some their fans were happy about that, but it still was boring as fuck. The S55 was a garbage season and it's time to forget it. Let's make the S56 more fun and let's have a new champion even if this isn't going to be Riga. That's it and I'm out. 6 TPE goes to Krīgars.
  9. *Who said being a second round pick isn't cool?* I always like to brag about Benjamin Zeptenbergs and him being such a steal who was a part of the three-peat Toronto, the first and only of it's kind despite Zep was playing only two seasons here. Which leads into a question - was there even more successful and better 14th pick in the VHL history? I'm sure the answer is yes, so I decided to look at post-expansion drafts to not being too disappointed. Let's go. S31 - Lucas Smith, drafted by Helsinki. There was one another Lucas Smith from the first days of VHL's existence and he was a massive steal. But that's not the case for the S31 Lucas Smith. Perhaps he never even made it into the VHL league with 170 something TPE. S32 - Sasha Stepanov, drafted by Cologne. He was a decent VHLM player, not more. Benjamin is smiling so far. S33 - Evgeny Namestnikov, drafted by Toronto. Now that's a first notable player on this list. And the return of @FBR only fits so well. He was a S37 champion with Toronto and even if he wasn't more successful than Zeptenbergs, he at least was on same level. S34 - Que Cumberbatch, drafted by Quebec. This is definitely not the best player @Munk has ever created. I doubt this player was playing in VHL as well. S35 - Queen Latifa, drafted by Toronto. Was active at some point, but not for a long time. 150 something TPE, nuff said. S36 - Stelio Kontos, drafted by Cologne. @Hybrid1486 had much better players than this forever VHLM player. S37 - Penis Anthony Doubligné (Hudson), drafted by Toronto. As much as Hybrid, the Kenny avatar lover @Zero had better guys in early VHL days. But at least Penis made it into the VHL league. S38 - Percy Miller, drafted by Quebec. I think Coach D had a player with the same name in SBA? I can't say VHL's Percy was spectacular, but at least he has a S40 cup and 200 or so TPE, so he's not a completely bust. S39 - Mike McGrattan, drafted by Calgary. Nothing special, forever VHLM player. S40 - Christoph Klose, drafted by New York. I think he is one of the best, if not a best 14th pick in the VHL history. That draft was pretty much stacked, but @der meister still was overlooked. Good for New York as he helped them with chansing the Cup in S41. Also, Klose managed to win two more cups in Helsinki in S45-46 period. The stats are telling an entire story - nobody can touch him at this point. S41 - Brandon Holmes, drafted by Quebec. He was somewhat a decent depth, he even managed to win the Victory Cup and NA cup. He never was something more than a bottom depth, but not a bust either. S42 - you know who, drafted by Toronto. NEXT! S43 - Josh Merica, drafted by Riga. Merica is a well-known sim league member, but this player was a letdown. Just a VHLM player, nothing more. S44 - Lenny Face, drafted by New York. That wasn't a mediocre player even by @Edgar's standarts. A quite decent VHLM goalie, that's it. S45 - Ethan Henderson, drafted by Helsinki. Even Kachur II is better than Ethan ever was. Nuff said. S46 - Jon Panik, drafted by Stockholm. Right now @Kyle is having a solid depth in Luca Volkov, but in S46 he had another def player who was totally worse. A failed attempt to make a comeback, I'd say. S47 - Kasey Morgan, drafted by New York. Klose in S40 was a much better case for NY than this. Forever VHLM player. S48 - Pavel Varushkin, drafted by Toronto. @GoodLeftUndone just can't make at least a bottom depth player in VHL. This player also was a failure. S49 - Sebastian Laine, drafted by Davos. And another player who did nothing. S50 - Elias Forsberg, drafted by Seattle. Same thing as previous players from S43. The next season's 14th picks also aren't the future of VHL, so I'll stop here. So what we have at end of the day? Klose is above everybody all day all night with Zeptenbergs and Namestnikov being decent steals as well. Brandon Holmes and Precy Miller are also notable not-a-bust type players. That's it and I'm out. 6+3(?) TPE goes to Krīgars.
  10. Fav moments #7: gonna be a triple one: 26 hits in one game in a VHLM playoff game with Petenis @Banackock's Seattle. Once again, fuck NYA Triple award season with Petenis - S54.
  11. Fav moment #6: Finally making it into ASG and winning two cups in last two Zeptenbergs seasons while being a part of @Molholt's three-peat team. The first team and only of it's kind.
  12. Fav moment #5: S47 Calgary. And fuck NYA. @eaglesfan036 @Mr.Baller @CoachReilly @Fire Hakstol @Christmas @diamond_ace @Doomsday @Cuffy @Caillean
  13. ''Dark horse''. The double curse of 3-1 and Vasteras strikes again.
  14. Having the best career season with Benjamin and still not made it into the ASG cause Kesler traded me to Cologne.
