  3. Now @MubbleFubbles will find out why I thanked him yesterday. I have a somewhat fascinating relationship with the forums reactions. I assume there are members left that are feeling good with getting reactions. Perhaps it doesn't matter if it's like button or the angry one. The reaction is all that matter. But there's a thing - apparently I'm one of the worst members in this league when it comes to giving any reactions. In 7 plus years in this league I pushed a button for a whopping 208 times and I reckon the most of them came in my first years in this league. For comparing let's see my reactions given/reactions received ratio. 208/3214. Or less than 0.10 which might be the lowest among all active members or not. (assuming that I'm even active, surely not in giving reactions). There are some members that joined like 2 or 3 months ago that already gave more reactions during that time than me in 7 plus years. Why am I showing this behavior? I don't think I'll tell any reasons for that, I was just typing this quote for fun and for 2 TPE. And an affiliate 3 for SBA. Btw it isn't the first time he mentioned my bleh reactions giving game. 2 something years ago the same thing was mentioned in Tate's big thread so I guess there's something in that. Or not. That's it and I'm out.

  7. The season is over. Literally. Who even cares about the lotto tourney, just do a draft lotto and move on. Oh yeah, Calgary made the playoffs. But I feel like I have very few fucks given about that. Honestly, Klam ends up as a aight goalie and nothing more than that. At least I can say that's pretty much one me when I was ok with sitting whole ELC as the backup and not updating him much until recently. He's been kinda good in a defensive minded team, but he doesn't seem a savior for the most of part. But hey it would be cool to wreck Seattle out of contention. Otherwise, I'm not happy. And you know what makes me more pissed off? Matt Thunder in Riga - 60 points as the career best in Riga Matt Thunder in Malmo - 58 in 46 games. Justin Lose in Riga - being up and down with 82 points being the best result Justlin Lose in Seattle - best goal and points scorer so that's two awards at least. Of course they had no luck whatsoever in Riga and of course they're breaking out in other teams. And in theory that actually should make me happy. The former Riga players finally found the success they really needed. But nah, I'm having a hard time to not use some slurs when describing this sim engine. So apparently the roster Riga had during S77-80 wasn't good enough to be the powerhouse we really deserved? That wasn't good enough to have at least above mid tier scoring stats? Are you sure Simon wasn't smoking crack when making this shit that's called STHS??? OH WOW WE HAD ONE PASS FIRST DEFENSEMAN, LET'S SCREW RIGA THEN! Fucking useless failure of a people creation. And this season...it was so trash I wasn't happy when simmers took a Christmas break. Cause I wanted this season to end as soon as possible. The only two things that kept me in it is DaMoose road to 100 and Reinhart trying to take the Clegane award. As you can see, DaMoose managed to reach exactly 100 point mark. However, Reinhart had a hard luck in last two games and of course Sales had to play some weak ass teams. So this was another thing that got me pissed off. Not only we couldn't score a damn thing outside of DaMoose, the chance of getting an award was taken away 2 games before the regular season ended. Another checkmark into the ''FUCK STHS'' list. Really, there was nothing to cheer about outside of DaMoose and good performance by Riga E prospects. Speaking of which, all three of them are set to be called up next season. Biggie Cheese, Alexandre Leduc and Yun Chiang. All of them are running with rather a low passing build, though you could argue about the Chiang's 65 passing. That also means that I'm having a direct plans to make the roster as empty as possible to give them good playing time. I'm not sure if we are gonna be a true rebuilder though knowing Cabe's salary and my reluctance on selling Miklavz. But Riga does need a major roster shakeup and I don't think anyone can argue with that. That's it and I'm out.
  8. the recruitment team member talking shit about trading abilities of vhlm gms
  9. I hope sales fucks up his last games cause otherwise, fuck warsaw and I hope they will amount to nothing for the next 10 seaaons at least. miserable team
  10. I tend to eat raw potatoes as well Bek, I'm coming for you!
  11. how about to do it my way and blame both
  12. So I just woke up from nap and thinking what to type here. Oh yeah, multis thing. That was entertaining actually. That's despite of one of our main offensive prospects getting a 3 week ban and losing a goalie in the process. I gotta find a goalie in this draft I guess? Welll I have some picks so that shouldn't be a big problem I reckon. You know what's more funny? Apparently there is one recreate who is going by diff account and I only realized it now. And that's cause he spoiled it lol. But hey, technically that's not a multi since his OG acc is inactive. Maybe he forgot a pw or just went for another acc intentionally. Either way, funny stuff. Man, this is what I can come up with this time. What a shame. while we're at it I have to shoutout couple of players who are trying to achieve some milestones: @Spaz - GREG CLEGANE AWARD WATCH! @Eynhallow - go and hit 100! @Alexandre - same goes to you @nurx - and to you. a half empty roster always gonna do wonders, just look at Rhynex and Webber now That's it and I'm out.
  13. 1. that bum Klam tried to ride on Calgary defense once again. and failed 2. not really tbh. 3. nothing much and I don't celebrate it 4. Euro - 2004, first years of Dinamo Riga and Latvia vs Canada in Sochi 5. I don't know and I don't even try to know. saves me some nerve cells 6. might be getting boring of same player dominating the league for an extended period. could maybe get that to 10 seasons maybe
  14. I think we used to have more entertaining trade deadlines, but now that's some trash ass boring tier. A grand total of 0 trades were made by VHL teams. I guess all of them just blew off their steam in offseason and they had no interest in trying anything else now. Also it didn't help that half of VHL teams are tanking. And then there's ''not ready yet'' Helsinki and Toronto. And then there's ''can't score a shit'' Riga. We had some cap space, but I was so meh about buying anything unless there was a good scoring rental for a 4th round pick. But I guess I wasn't active enough to try it anyways. But yeah, some more recent trade deadlines have been extra doo doo so if anyone wants to see some trade fireworks going on - offseason hype is there! Don't even expect anything anymore from the trade deadline. To think, even decreasing the percentage to 50 for the last TDL day isn't helping anymore. This season itself was pretty boring trades wise. 2 of 3 of them were mine lmao. Both of them were me selling players so I guess we all know now where I'm going to this offseason. That's it and I'm out.
  15. 1. Are you in the Christmas spirit yet? Or should I say - holiday spirit? 2. What is the team lacking and need to improve? (Alexandre's question) 3. Which team is surprising you the most this season based off success? 4. Is it just me or is this season FLYING? How are we 50 games in? 5. Looks like the NHL won't be going to the Olympics - do you think this is the best decision? 6. Do you think Ovie will stick around long enough to break Gretzky's record? 1. absolutely not. not even celebrating that event 2. scoring scoring scoring scoring scoring scoring scoring...do I need to continue? 3. Davos. I guess they finally found the way to a deserved luck. 4. eh. not really flying to me. just a usual pace 5. as if anyone will go to the Olympics heh 6. uh....hard to believe tbh. if only he can survive for 5-6 more seasons
  16. *this is the sad lion. The same kind of sadness that Riga Reign is experiencing right now* S74 offseason. The Riga Reign just completed their 13th post season in a row, a record that still isn't broken (although Calgary is running somewhere around). At the end of the series against Malmo, however it was apparent that there is nothing much left in the tank so the GM Benjamin Zeptenbergs decided to do he hasn't done since the S59 offseason - blow it up and bring a new life to team. The decision was perfectly reasonable - to this day the S75 draft is the deepest draft this league has ever seen so far and Ben was seeing the opportunity make a rather quick rebuild and get back on track without much fuss. Countless picks later - and the new blood emerged into the team knowing that soon enough these guys will challenge the Seattle Bears dynasty... ...S81. After the 0-2 stretch against the main rival for the wildcard spot Prague Phantoms the Reign once again fell off to the lotto territory. But it's way from the worst part. The reality is way more harsh - I will turn my biased mode on and tell everyone that the S75 Riga Reign draft class will go down in history as the biggest ''what if'' in history of this league. Or biggest undeachievers, if you wish. 2 playoff appearances in 5 seasons, including the trip to the wildcard against Prague in S76. As of now, it seems like this ratio will turn to 2/6. Or basically, 1 playoff series in every 3 seasons. Zero playoff series win. In only 2 playoff/wildcard games we saw Riga being victorious. In short, nothing but constant disappointment. Excitement is long gone. It looks like the guys who are left from that core are just waiting for the end of the road which was filled with anger, misunderstood, pain and constant blame on Simon T. But even with that, are players really responsible for this to happen? Or there was another party in this shitshow that had something to do with this? Someone higher in position who could've made this team better. Maybe there is ever harsher truth than the whole S75 Riga underachievement. Are we witnessing the decline of one particular person?.... *would you look at this depressed ass face of Riga Reign GM. Everything checks out.* Ok, now I'll turn italic off and let's talk for a moment. First off, I think you already guessed it that particular person is none other than myself. If you're not inactive for like 2-3 seasons you would notice that Riga is not experiencing it's best days. And this season is not an exception. What went wrong here? Not exactly sure. There is more than one reason for that and the first one might be that 1. I jumped in too quick. Prior to S76 I only missed the playoffs 4 times so when there was an opprtunity to have some playoff actions even if this was the wildcard - I was in. Malmo and London weren't doing anything much and the former team decided to sell some guys. I just couldn't pass on this chance so I made a trade which might be the last blockbuster in my GM career at this moment. Sheilds, Lagesson and the comeback of Sasakamoose were supposed to get Riga back into the playoffs. And that's exactly what happened. Yes, we lost to Prague in wildcard, but there was no reason to panicking. We had so bright future we would get blind just by looking at it... 2. ...I guess I wasn't wrong about that. Prior to S77 I figured it out our weakest point would be a defense as Linus and Thunder were still on the way to stardom. So I was trying hard to fill this gap and I did just that...or more like overdone that. I brought General Zod FA rights for the 3rd round pick and managed to sign him. But then I was very unsure how this would go as Zod was the playmaker and we all know that scoring guys are doing most of the stuff. As the result, scoring first James Rose became Reign player as well. The only thing left after that was sit back and watch us being on the way to the... ....PLAYOFF MISS! YES YOU HEARD IT RIGHT! PLAYOFF MISS WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THE BIG TPE TEAM MISSING THE POSTSEASON FUCK STHS!11!!!!! Something really went wrong there. Too much defensemans? Too much playmakers? McLaren's 40 passing not working because he over-updated his checking skill? Not sure, but the offense was just not there. And this wasn't the first time in my GM tenure when Riga was just not up to the par with some of the best scoring teams, but it still was enough to secure the playoff spot rather easily. Now, this wasn't the case. For some reason, Malmo was starting to heavily overperform and as the result they actually managed to sneak into the playoffs. I get that they were mostly about scoring, but I still think that was absolutely atrocious display from STHS. Speaking of which, I will never let this go; but that also takes us to the most important reason of this shitshow: 3. My ego. To be more precise, it got hurt. I was just not used to have these situations. When you look at some current GM's record you notice a lot of more exprienced ones had the bad moments when they couldn't make the playoffs even when competing. Enorama had that, McWolf had that, Peace had that. Hell, even the mr. dynasty himself had to feel this pain at the very beginning of his VHL GM tenure. But what about me? As it was mentioned earlier, I've never had to experience this kind of frustration. It was simple for me - if we were competing, we are making the playoffs. If we are tanking, no playoffs. Nothing in between. S77 was literally the first time in my GM time when we were prematurely eleminated and oh boy that hurt my feelings a lot. My dislike for STHS was brewing for so many season and this really got me triggered as hell. Because that's who I am in real life - I just can't be a good loser. Sore loser is the way to go according to me. And while we're at it - S77 and 78 Malmo was the fluke, thank you very much. Anyways, my hurt feelings triggered another negative trait in me... 3.1. ...the decrease of my interest as I've started to just give up. When something goes wrong, I do tend to lose a desire instead of fighting back. And the VHL was never an exception. The timing of this didn't help either. I would rather enjoy the spring and summer than dealing with this issue. I mean, having a good time in summer outside of home is never the bad thing. It just took me out of the managing job. I also was working a lot in June although I wouldn't say that was the big reason. But I really lost a desire. More and more managing jobs were done by then-AGM Ledge and I was being like...meh. I think Peace knows what I'm talking about. Do you remember that trade between Riga and Toronto when we decided to swap players in mid-S78? It actually could've happened faster had I more interest in actually being invested in these trade talks rather than just ''looking at the message for 5 seconds and then yeah I'll decide it tomorrow someday I don't know when whatever''. So in short - I just lost it. Lost the passion I've had before. It also affected me with earning TPE. Since the early summer I've been nothing but a clicker which shows something. And of course, we made the playoffs in S79 which finally gave me something to cheer about. But this was just a spoon of honey in a barrel of tar because everything else was there. Lack of scoring, lack of excitement and lack of doing anything from the person who should've at least tried to change the narrative. And another playoff miss in S80 completely killed my faith and interest. When I'm messaging some free agents with ''we have some roster space'' rather than ''we will be a good team'', you know that something is not right. And as we are approaching the S81 trade deadline we can see that Riga is once again is moving to the wrong way. And now I'm just feeling empty. Not even angry, just full of nothing. The days of ''STHS IS GARBAGE FUCK THIS SHIT SIM ENGINE KILL SIMON'' are slowly fading away. And even my complaints about the results and sim engine aren't really genuine anymore because I see what STHS wants and nothing else matters. I will stop it there because I have nothing else to say about it. Just one more thing. Is this the last we've ever seen of hedge in Riga?....... That's it and I'm out. 13.12 - 19.12 20.12 - 26.12 27.12 - 03.01
