Jet Jaguar - Class of S74 Position: C Birthplace: Kiev, Ukraine Height: 6'3 | Weight 211 lbs Age: 27 Drafted: S66 VHL Entry Draft 1st Round | 10th Overall (Moscow Menace) Username: @gorlab Jet Jaguar's path to greatness began all the way back in Season 65 where he played for the Halifax 21st. After getting his feet wet in the minors, Jaguar immediately declared for the VHL Entry Draft that offseason. Shockingly, Jaguar didn't hear his name called until pick 10! In hindsight, many GM's will look back on this and kick themselves, as Jaguar went on to beat all 9 players who were called before him in career scoring. Amongst those 9 players were Hunter Hearst Helmsley (who was also on the Hall of Fame ballot) , as well as fellow Class of 74 inductee Julius Freeman. To surpass players of this caliber in career points is a true feat in itself. By dropping to 10 in his draft, the Moscow Menace were gifted a generational face of the franchise. Over the course of 6 seasons, Moscow would build pieces around Jaguar to compliment his elite offensive talent. In Season 70 during his fifth year with the club the team finally had a breakthrough. Jaguar posted career highs that season which culminated into the team winning their first ever Continental Cup. Along with taking home the league title, Jaguar also claimed the Mike Szatkowski Trophy for most points that year. Shockingly it would be his only piece of individual hardware which would come to a surprise to many, however, this should be a perfect example that you don't need individual accolades to have a legendary career. In his final two seasons Jet toured to Davos where he enjoyed two more highly successful campaigns. Jaguar was truly a consistent offensive threat year in and year out and was also known to be beloved by his teammates. During an era where scoring was known to be a rare commodity at times, Jet never ceased to pile up the stat sheet, and for that reason he is one half of your Class of S74. Career Awards S69- All-VHL Second Team S70- All-VHL First Team S70- Mike Szatkowski Trophy S70- Continental Cup Champion (Moscow) S71 - All-VHL Second Team S72- All-VHL First Team Career Recap S65 (VHLM - Halifax) As mentioned in the introduction, Jaguar began his journey to become a pro hockey player in Season 65 when he signed a contract with Halifax of the VHLM. Jet hit the ground running in the M by posting a most impressive 57 points in his inaugural season. His production perhaps predictably dipped some in the playoffs, only posting 6 points in 13 games. Many pundits considered this nerves that many young kids go through when they play in their first meaningful handful of postseason games and this allegedly may have been what dropped his stock a bit in the upcoming VHL Entry Draft! Despite a subpar playoff performance, JJ was still primed to make the jump to the pros for Season 66! Regular Season Playoffs S66 (VHL - Moscow) Jet took the league by storm in his rookie campaign posting 90 points (40 goals, 50 assists) including goals on the man advantage and three game winners. Amazingly his first season went down to be his second best season for goals and his third best for points. This easily goes down as one of the great rookie performances in Moscow history, but despite that, the young franchise from the Motherland was unable to convert Jaguar's efforts into a playoff birth. Unphased by this, Jaguar his the gym in the offseason and came back ready for his sophomore season. Regular Season S67 (VHL - Moscow) After putting himself on the map in Year 1 of his pro career, the competition came ready to slow this cat down, but try as they may, Jaguar continued to pounce on his enemies and cultivate success for himself and his teammates. Jet may have felt a touch snake-bitten in S67 as he only buried 21 goals, however he did connect with his linesmates for 52 assists which was good for another 70-plus point season. Despite his slight drop-off in points, the team was evolving as a whole and they managed to crack the post-season. It was a quick 5 game exit in the first round, but Jaguar did manage to put up a point-per-game ratio ! S68 (VHL - Moscow) While still an above average season for most players, Jaguar's 60 point stint in his 3rd year in the league was by far the worst of his career. Coming off of a season that saw the Menace get their first crack at postseason play, S68 would widely be considered a disappointment in the eyes of most Moscow fans. But little did the fanbase know, the best was yet to come... Regular Season S69 (VHL - Moscow) Season 69 will go down as the year things started to click for this core of players in Moscow. Not only did Jaguar bounce back statistically (35G, 50A, 85P) but the team re-emerged as a playoff contender once more. After defeating Helsinki in 6 games in the EU Quarter Finals, Jet and the Menace came up short in the Semis vs a very tough Riga Reign squad. Despite going out in 5 in the semi-finals, many found this result to be very promising and something to build off of for Season 70 and beyond. Regular Season Playoffs S70 (VHL - Moscow) After taking a major step the year prior, the Menace knew this was their window to compete for a title. Now in his fifth season, Jet Jaguar was in the prime of his career and it really was starting to show. Season 70 it Jet was truly a man amongst boys out on the ice. Amassing a whopping 97 points including a career high 42 goals, Jaguar earned his first and only individual piece of hardware by taking home the Mike Szatkowski Trophy at year end for most points that season. However this wasn't the only trophy that was earned in S70. After a clean sweep of Prague in the first round, history repeated itself as Riga and Moscow squared off in a rematch of the previous year's semi-final matchup. This time it was the Menace who got the last laugh by eliminating the Reign in 5. In the elimination game, Jet was named first star after leading his team with 2 points in a 3-1 series-clinching victory. After that it was off the league finals to face off against the Calgary Wranglers. In a close series, Moscow jumped out to a 3-2 series lead. Game 6 was a tight affair with not much offense to be had from either side. Tied after regulation, the game needed overtime. At 11:31 of the extra period, Dean Clarke hit Jaguar with a pass to the half-wall. With his great instincts, Jet one-touched the pass across the seam to an open Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen and the rest is history. After 5 tough years in the Motherland, all the hard work finally paid off and JJ was finally able to etch his legacy into VHL history. Regular Season Playoffs S71 (VHL - Moscow ) There was no Cup hangover to be had Moscow following the organizations first ever league title. The crew got back to work and to absolutely nobody's surprise, Jaguar posted another superb season ending with 77 points (33G, 44A). It was back to the playoffs to defend their championship. After sweeping Malmo in four, Jet's crew took on Riga for a third straight year... in the rubber match it was Moscow once ruining the dreams of Riga fans around the league. All things considered, they made short work of Riga, and were red-hot heading into their second straight Cup Finals. Sadly, this is where the fairy tale ending gets cut short. The Menace were outplayed by a young and hungry Seattle Bears franchise that would go onto form a dynasty of their own. But that's a story for a different day. While losing in the Cup Finals may have been a bitter pill to swallow for Menace fans, what was to come perhaps would sting even more.... Regular Season Playoffs S72 (VHL - HC Davos) June 1st. That is a day that will be remembered by Moscow fans, and probably by Jet as well. The trade that sent shockwaves through the hockey universe... GM @Victorpulled off a blockbuster with HC Davos and for the first time in his illustrious career, JJ was going to don new team colours. One thing was for certain, there was no buyers remorse on the side of HC Davos GM @GustavMattias. Season 72 was arguably the best of Jaguars 8 year run in the pros. Tying his point total from S70 (97), Jaguar found himself knocking on the door of the 100 point club once more. In addition to his offensive outburst, Jaguar was also starting to show his mean side, gathering 241 hits and 139 PIMS that year. Despite the incredible regular season, Davos was quickly disposed of in the first round by JJ's number one rival... you guessed it. The Riga Reign. The Reign also went on to beat Moscow that season so in hindsight perhaps the trade hurt both teams? That is a matter that could still be debated to this day. Regular Season Playoffs S73 (VHL - HC Davos) In what would be his 8th and final season of his complete masterclass of a career, Jet show little signs of aging or fatigue. He managed a very respectable 66 points (28G, 38A) and his PIMs (159) and Hits (289) both rose once again to set new career highs. Jaguar was truly a polished product towards the end of his career provided both grit and skill on both ends of the ice. Davos was able to make the playoffs yet again but unfortunately it was a similar result, this time falling to Malmo in 5 games in the EU Wildcard Series. After their quick exit, Jaguar announced his retirement from the VHL shortly after. Those going out in the first round may not have been the way he wanted to end his career, Jaguar can most definitely look back on his career and have no regrets. After being chose for to be inducting in the Class of S74, the writing staff reached out to Jet and asked him if he would like to reflect on his long and storied career. Here's what JJ had to say: "As my first HoF player, Jaguar will always hold a special place in my heart. Despite not having as much cup success as my previous players, and ruining my 2 cups/career average, Jaguar definitely performed admirably stat-wise and I think was one of, if not the, premier forward of the late 60s/early 70s. There's a lot of people to thank, who were influential in Jet Jaguar's career. First and foremost, Kyl and Ofer convinced me to re-create on VHL after a year or two of inactivity. Victor for drafting me in S66 and building around me. There's too many Moscow teammates to thank, but off the top of my head, RANDOMS (hedgehog), SMITTY (flyersfan), GRITTY (eaglesfan) and BERNARD (Mr. Hatter) come to mind as the core of the team. Role players like Telkster, Dan Baillie (wcats), KYLE, gooningitup, and zekethebeast aka ree have to be mentioned as well. In retrospect, I really should have spent Jaguar's career on Moscow as I think I would have had a better final 2 seasons and possibly another cup, but I have to again thank Vic for giving me to opportunity to cup chase when we thought Moscow's window was closed, hence my S72 trade to Davos. Despite the lack of success playing in Switzerland, and my predisposition to hating Davos, I did enjoy my time there, and think Jaguar's 2.5 seasons, or whatever it was, healed the hatred between gorlab and the Davos franchise. All credit goes to Gustav, Berocka, BrrbisBrr, RILEY, Josh, and Davos legend AHMA of course for making the team a fun place to play, and being pretty competitive despite never winning. There's numerous members who were influential through the career of Jaguar. I can't name them all, but I will begrudgingly honour Hunter Hearst Helmsley (beaviss) and Julius Freeman (rjfryman) as I think our 3 players defined both the S66 draft class and the early 70s decade of the VHL. They activated my pettiness and competitiveness, and pushed me to tpe whore and build a suitable player, which finally got me to the HoF. From my first stint of activity, to my current stint, and all future stints, VHL will always be my #1 and home sim league. Thanks very much for the HoF induction.... In the words of BOBBY DIGITAL (S48 - S55): GOODBYE.... AND GOOD NIGHT. bang" Thanks to @tcookie25 Addison McLaren! Much of the formatting from this post was inspired by his HoF article from October!

Toronto Legion Weekly Presser
fromtheinside replied to DollarAndADream's topic in Team Press Conferences
1. In your opinion... how was Toronto's S75 VHL Entry Draft? | (For Draftees: What was your reaction when you discovered you were selected by the Toronto Legion?) Well sadly I was at work for the draft but I was checking my phone every once inawhile to see if I had any DMs. Eventually an old teammate from Saskatoon DM'd me and said "congrats on going to Toronto, a Leafs fan playing for Toronto... perfect fit!" I was super super excited when I read that. I had 3 preferred destinations and Toronto was one of them. When I got home and was able to look at how the draft went down, I was shocked when I saw you guys traded up and got me in the first round. Almost all the projections I read had me going in the 2nd round, so for you guys to have that much faith in me felt amazing. I won't let you guys down. 2. John Merrick was irritatingly disregarded in the Top Rookie discussion, while recently retired Ritchie wasn't even a nominee for most improved... so how would you rate your faith in our 'award committee'? To be entirely honest, I don't know enough about the process or the circumstances around this years nominations and selected winners. But I do think you should go off precedent. So in years past for RoY, has it just went to the highest point getting rookie? If so then that's fine, but it should be consistent. 3. Jaxx Hextall is sticking around! What do you think about having a solid goalie in net? | (For Rookie: When asked to waive your NTC, what made you decide you wanted to stick around in Toronto?) Honestly I think having a rock solid goalie is one of the biggest things for a team. And Hex is an absolute monster, so being able to bring him back is a huge plus for our team. I am super excited to play in front of him and help keep the pucks out of our net 4. In your honest opinion... was moving Killinger and Magnum a mistake or a requirement? So this is another question that I would say I am not entirely qualified to answer but I'll give it a shot. Killinger and Magnun were absolute monsters for Toronto last season. However in competitive sports it's all about timing. In this league players get aged out very fast so I think the ultimatum was this... do you keep them a little longer and hope to fight and claw your way to the playoffs, or do you blow it up and keep your younger core, acquire some great draft picks in the upcoming drafts and try to rebuild into something stronger. I think this was neither a mistake or a requirement. It was a tough judgement call. Only time will tell if it was the right call, but I am hopeful! 5. What are your own personal projections for your player in the upcoming season? Well there are alot of intangibles here. I think the most likely scenario is that I stay down in the M with San Diego for S75 where we should be a competitive playoff team. Myself and my Marlins D partner Cowboy Prout will both be capped at 250 pretty soon. I think we are gonna crush it together and I could have a very nice season down in the M. I would really love to make a run at the Founders Cup. Now, alternatively.... maybe something happens and the Marlins decide they aren't going to be contenders. In that scenario maybe I get called up to Toronto and dip my toes in the VHL waters. It's a possibility but I'll do my best wherever I end up. 6. What about the Toronto Legion? How do you think we will do this season. Word around the locker room is that we are gonna have a tough go at it this year. But that's fine. You need to look big picture. We have the pieces in play to turn this into something beautiful. This season is a stepping stone. If we stick to #THEPLAN I foresee great things in our future! @Peace will guide us to the promiseland -

Welcome Monarchs to this special edition press conference. We are six games into our Victory Pro-Am tournament and Victoria has stormed out the gates going an impressive 5-1. It's truly been a team effort and I am super proud of the squad we've put together here. I figured I'd ask some questions, mostly for fun, but if you need to get a couple TPE and you haven't done your VHL team presser yet this week, this can be claimed for up to 2 capped TPE depending on how many questions you answer. Just keep in mind if you are claiming you CANNOT claim this AND your VHL/M Press Conference also. It's one or the other. With that being said, let's get started! 1) As mentioned in the introduction, the Monarchs have gotten off to a super good start going 5-1 after the first two days of simulation. What do you think of Victoria's chances to potentially win the tournament, and who do you see as the biggest threat to our team? 2) As you may or may not have seen in the livestream of the first day of sims, Saturn defeated the Montreal Raiders by a whopping 7 goal margin. What's worse is goaltender Doug Dimmadome faced 70 shots that game. A true tragedy. The question is if our team was to give up 70 shots how fast would you retire your player and what avenues would you pursue outside of hockey after hanging up the skates? 3) We've had a various players step up for us in the early going. Down 3-0 to the Raiders yesterday our team clawed back and put up 5 goals in the third period to win the game 6-4. It's early still but who would you nominate as the Monarchs MVP thus far? 4) Shifting gears, it's been a busy past couple days in the VHL with both the VHLM Dispersal Draft, and the VHL Entry Draft taking place in the past 48 hours. Have you seen your team's newest acquistions and how would you rate your teams draft overall? Who do you think was the steal of either draft? 5) The BOG dropped a bomb last night announcing that starting this season, the VHLM would be adding a Junior affiliate system. This is a massive change. What do you think of this idea and how do you think it could impact the future of the league? 6) Season 75 is just around the corner. Teams have shuffled their rosters and drafted new players. Who would consider the odd-on favorite to win either the Commissioner's Cup or the Founders Cup in S75?

1. With the craziness of the draft now behind us, what did you take away from the VHL & VHLM drafts? How were they similar? How were they different? It has been an absolutely bonkers couple of days for me in the VHL. That being said, I've had a ton of fun with it. The two drafts were actually very similar for me. In both cases the team that ended up drafting me traded up in the first round to get me early which I think is super flattering and I am humbled by it. Also in both drafts, another D-man was taken alongside me by my team in the first round (Cowboy in SDM, Greene Giant in TOR) So yeah they were pretty similar all things considered. 2. While we’ll always expect the cliché answers on how satisfied you are with where you ended up, instead, are you at all surprised with where you went or how high/low you were selected? What do you personally think went into the decision to draft you where you were taken? I was shocked when I checked my phone at work and saw a DM from another player in the league that said "congrats on going 2nd". That blew my mind. I thought I would probably go mid to late first round...so to see you guys traded up to get me at 2 was pretty astonishing to me. As for what went into the decision, I think a couple things. One is obviously activity. I've done my best to make my presence known both on the forums as well as Discord. Also I try to keep a positive outlook and I think that's something alot of GMs value in the LR. 3. Focusing now on this upcoming season, what are your expectations as a player statistically for season 75? I don't focus tooooo much on personal stats being a defensemen. The only stat I really want to see is W's for the team. I am tweaking my build a touch this season and it could prove to pay off offensively, but I am focused on being a shut down D-man first and foremost. 4. How can you improve your player this season, and what will you be focusing on skill-wise first? Well this will be a little tricky from here on out for this season. I am capped at 250 which means I can only do so much. I have my DEF at 80 and eventually in the future I will be maxing that to 99 but for now I think it is more efficient to spread out my remaining TPA into some other categories. As I mentioned before, I'm tweaking my player build a touch. The plan was always for me to be more of a playmaker than a goal scorer. So when I started I thought it was best to stack Passing over Scoring. Lately I've been told by a few different people that Scoring is just far and above the superior stat, so I've made some alterations. I spent 500k on a TPA Recall to dial back my passing by 10. I spent that 10 and much more on Scoring... the plan is to have my Passing at 69, and my Scoring at 82. Any remaining TPE will go into Skating and Puck Handling. 5. As San Diego looks to makes the player/user experience better every season, I will be taking a focus on rebuilding the forum club room, including some forum exclusive stuff. What types of things would you like to see on the club forum lockeroom? Honestly, I don't know about specifics. I only hope that everyone on the team gets engaged and is active as possible. It's alot more fun when there's hype within the team and the banter is strong! Maybe having team-exclusive contests or something would encourage team activity. 6. Let’s give a big congratulations to Cowboy Prout, our team Captain for the Marlins in season 75! Any words for our new lockeroom general? I couldn't think of a more suitable choice to lead this team. Cowboy is an absolute beast on the ice, but more importantly he is a great person behind the scenes as well. I am beyond excited to get this season rolling and be his D partner!

This is a good read, nice job

I get the anger. But personally, other management's miscues will be Yukon's gain, and we are pumped we were able to get you! You're gonna light it up this season

thanks for hosting it fellas, it was a good watch. The video quality could use some work, but the analysis and banter was spot on!

Kvothe sets sight on outperforming stock after draft night
fromtheinside replied to DangerGolding's topic in VHL.com Articles
Might be the steal of the draft!! Kvothe is gonna light up the league. -
This is a dope graphic! The colors all go well together, the font is really nice also. I really like the Wild logo on that jersey too. I guess my only improvement or suggestion for you would be to maybe add your name to the graphic to fill it out a bit more, and even maybe your stats from last season or the fact you won the Founders Cup maybe? Besides that though it's great. Enjoy your time in Sasky, Dooms and Ferk and top tier managers! 8.5/10

Edward Kenway pre draft interwiew
fromtheinside replied to Edgy Mcedgelord's topic in Archived Media Spots
Hey great writeup! There's lots to like in this piece and also some things to build off of for next time. I think your formatting is great and easy to read with your use of bolding, so great job there. Also the content itself was really great and informative. I think next time you should just go over it real quick and check for some spelling and grammatical errors, but we all slip up here and there so don't sweat it! I do think you can think of something more creative than Edge Talk with Edgy McEdgelord, but that's just my personal taste I suppose lol. Definitely a great job overall, keep it up! 7/10 -
San Diego Replenishes Roster Thanks to Efficient Draft Charlie LaFlemme- VHLM Beat Writer The much anticipated Season 75 VHLM Dispersal Draft has finally come and gone and there's no end of talking points to go over. There were winners, losers, and plenty of teams who fell somewhere in the middle. Among the teams that were longing for an overhaul this offseason were the San Diego Marlins. Coming off a forgettable Season 74 campaign, the Marlins were primed to "restock their coffers" in the draft, having accumulated numerous extra picks via trade. When it was all said and done and the dust clearled, the Marlins will be welcoming 16 new players to camp this fall. Let's take a look at how they did... 1st Round Cowboy Prout - D - 1st Overall @Prout The Marlins were boasting the first overall pick in the draft and there was plenty of speculation as to who they would take. Moments before their pick was made official, Assistant General Manager @IamMOOSEKevin King expressed that the Marlins were looking to bolster their blue line, and he thought that there was some great first-gen top end talent to be had, but was also worried about the major drop off in defensive talent after the first couple of rounds. That being said, the Marlins (to many people's surprise) took "The Sheriff" Cowboy Prout first overall in this year's draft. Prout has been touted as one of many elite first-gen talents to come out of the S74 rookie pool. While many may have had Jolly Greene Giant as their top rated D-man because of his superior TPE, the Marlins were confident in their choice, opting for a younger player who has known to be active in during his short stay in the community. Prout was said to be beaming after hearing his name be called first overall. He will have much to prove this coming season, but the San Diego brass seem confident he can fit the bill! And the Marlins were just getting warmed up.... Scotty Kaberle -D- 2nd Overall @fromtheinside The next pick in the draft belonged to the Minnesota Storm, however before Storm management took the stage to announce their pick, Draft Host Spartan announced a shocker. The Marlins opted to send 3 S76 draft picks (SDM 1st, LVA 3rd, YUK 3rd) to Minnesota for the rights to the 2nd overall pick. The draft onlookers were buzzing. True to their words, @InstantRockstar and Kevin King added another core piece to their blueline by taking another first-gen rookie, Scotty Kaberle. The Marlins really seemed to trust their gut and stick to the strategy of taking younger yet established rookies with the intention of molding them in young thoroughbreds. Another player that draft pundits had going a little later, Kaberle shares alot in common with Prout. His development in year one was amongst the top of his class and he is known to bring an infectious positive attitude to the dressing room. If these two defensemen turn out the way Marlins management hopes, this could be the best 1-2 punch on the blueline in the VHLM this upcoming season. Nero Endrizzi - C - 10th Overall @Jonessee27 If the top 2 picks in the draft weren't enough, the show rolled on as the Marlins made their THIRD pick in the Top 10 of the draft! At number 10 the team shifted its focus to offense. Any team rebuilding knows elite centres are hard to come by. After a streak of defensemen went off the board from picks 1-9, the Marlins pretty much had pick of the litter with only one centre being drafted by this point. With the 10th pick San Diego took Nero Endizzi, who many considered to be the best pure centre in this draft. While Endrizzi's stats from last season don't jump off the page at you, don't be fooled. Endrizzi came onto a LOADED Las Vegas Aces squad last season and was only given the opportunity to play a depth role. Despite that, Endrizzi stayed hungry and was another one of the top TPE earners in his rookie class. The Marlins will be looking to Nero to provide a big part of their offense this season! 2nd Round Red Lite - RW - 13th Overall @Tate Opening up the second round, the Marlins stayed on the offense both literally and figuratively. Looking for potential linemates for Endrizzi, San Diego chose winger Red Lite to kick off round 2. Red Lite was a late joiner in the VHLM last season with the Philadelphia Reapers. Red Lite only managed to catch the tail end of last season, amassing 19 games total. While only being in the league for less than a month, Lite has earned at a rapid pace and has developed the skill set to be a lethal offensive player this season. His skating, stick handling and raw scoring abilities leap off the page at you and along with Endrizzi, these two could make a big splash come puck drop this fall! 3rd Round Nikolas DAndrea - C - 25th Overall @Nikdandrea34 In the third round San Diego shifted back to between the dots by drafting their second centremen of the draft, Nikolas DAndrea. DAndrea will bring some championship pedigree to the Marlins, having been a part of the Cinderella story Miami Marauders in S74. The 6'3 forward has shown he can consistently earn and develop at a decent rate and the Marlins will be depending on that to continue throughout the course of the upcoming season. Nick has shown some great flashes of both passing and scoring and it a formidible skater, but as a centre he will need to improve his faceoff work to truly help the team out in puck possession. The Marlin brass are eager to get DAndrea in camp and keep his development going! Frank Funk Jr - LW - 32nd Overall @Rayzor_7 In the latter half of the third round, the Marlins came back up to the podium and selected Frank Funk Jr, l promising left winger from Russia. This is a smart pick by the San Diego management team. Drafting a member of the community who is in good standing and should be reliable enough to continue developing his player throughout Season 75. It is somewhat surprising that Funk didn't find his way to Minnesota, but the Storms loss is the Marlins gain and the Marlins scouts and management are happy to have him. The Russian may slot into the second line to start the season but it wouldn't be surprising to him expand his role over the course of the season. Other Notable Picks Gunnar Odinsson - D - 37th Overall @BOOM™ This is probably one of the most interesting picks in the draft... no matter what the outcome it should be safe to say you should put this one in the memory bank and revisit it at the end of the season. For those who are unaware BOOM is a Hall of Famer who has recently come back off of a long hiatus. With literally 0 TPA (but 98 banked) , who knows what is in store for the feisty Norwegian Gunnar Odinsson. BOOM gave heavy forewarning and clearly attempted to temper expectations last week by stating they will be taking the league in this time around at a much more casual pace. Honestly, I respect the transparency and even if San Diego gets a sliver of BOOM's old self, at pick 37 this could be the steal of the draft! If not, at least it was late enough in the draft were there isn't so much risk involved. Kaladin Kvothe - LW - 49th Overall @DangerGolding In Round 5 the Marlins secured another forward by taking Vegas product Kaladin Kvothe. I've heard a ton of buzz about this Brit going into the draft and taking a shot this late in the draft on a guy like this is a no-brainer. Despite getting a late start and being put in a limited role with powerhouse Las Vegas, Kvothe has been earning and improving at an exceptional rate. It should most definitely by noted Kvothe boasted some of the best raw scoring ability in the VHLM. If Kvothe continues to develop and starts fine tuning some other parts of his game, this could be an absolute steal at 49. The aforementioned players were just some of the players the will lead San Diego into a very wide open Season 75. At first glance it seems that the Marlins have one of the best top end D pairs in the league, an above-average netminder, and some of the best offensive depth in the minors. Camp starts next week and it will be fun to watch internal battles for lineup spots. Stay tuned for updates on the Marlins and other teams that are readying themselves for the quickly approaching season.
