    1. Well, believe it or not, Rose and Zod are gone. We'll be doin a little more draft picking. Do you think we'll have a strong enough team next season to comoete?
    2. Looking at the VHLM, the Mississauga Hounds have only lost 4 games! Is there such thing as a guaranteed cup?
    3. With maybe too many players in the VHL, the BoG has to do something. What do you think? Expansion? Another league?

With not much else to write about Imma just share my thoughts on how my teams roster is looking like and what my expectations are for this season. To me this team is similar to the team we were at the end of last season except slightly better. We replaced both our two best defensemen who retired with better defensemen making our D-core stronger. Our forwards look very similar with the exceptions of a couple of VHLM call ups. If we are as good as we were at the end of last season I have no doubt we'll make the playoffs. Through the latter half of last season we were 20-9 or something like that so if we can repeat that success it would be great. Also it's pretty cool to see some more prospects push through the 250 TPE barrier. Jared Carter @jaredc7 looks like a steal at 87th overall already and Matthew Sovick Jr @matt sovick looks like he'll be the the lowest drafted player to ever make the VHL which is dope. Sharkton @TheOGShark and Nexber @Domino Draws are also long awaited and exciting additions to the team. as for expectations I'm hopeful we can make the playoffs again, I know that's never guaranteed but if were any better than we were last season we should make it

    Hi Everyone,

If you have not been living under a rock the past few weeks, you know that the topic of Live Simming was a popular discussion, for lack of a better phrase. Before going any further, I will reiterate that @Beketov is an upstanding member of the community who has given more to this league than most anyone in its history, and any accusations of rigged sims are completely, and utterly, unfounded. While the manner in which the debate started was perhaps the wrong way to go about it, the request of Live Sims from a wide range of members was heard.

After further discussion, moving forward, a requirement of simming the VHL will be to include Live Streams of simming in both the Regular Season and Playoffs. Whether that is on twitch, youtube, or in the main league discord, that much is up to the simmer.

Again, this is not because any wrongdoing has been done on the part of anyone to sim the league, but is a move to provide a more open experience in the process for everyone.

    Thank you,
    @Commissioner

    Hello All,

This is my official resignation from the role as VHL Commissioner. My VHL interest has stagnated in the last month or so. I recently took a little break and I found when I came back that it didn't get any better. While this is unfortunate since I once really loved spending all my free time coming to chat and thinking up new ideas for the league and how to make it better. I feel like I've left a little mark good or bad (depending on who you talk to) on the league in the role that its a good time for me to walk away. Hopefully my replacement (if one is hired) can have the passion I first did when entering the role.

Effective immediately ill be stepping down as VHL Commissioner and as Recruitment Team Leader. Ill be staying on as General Manager of the Wolves for now to see if less responsibility helps and if it doesn't I might step down from that next off season also.

To be honest I'm just burned out from getting dunked on constantly even if I do sometimes deserve it.

Thank you to everyone that helped during my tyrannical reign as VHL Commissioner.

    See you around,

Ayo, I've got this totally original idea where I look at upcoming prospects for the team I play for. Hope you enjoy.
As you may know Riga is a rebuilding team hoping to sneak into the playoffs this season. With a massive S75 draft Riga is made up of more prospects than most teams most of which are playing for Riga in this season. However, even with all the prospects currently on the team, Riga still has some more upcoming talent that will join the team as soon as next season.

Probably Riga's most intriguing prospect looking into next season is Minnesota right winger Andy Nexber @Domino Draws. Picked at 52nd overall in the S75 draft with 275 TPE it's fair to stay that Nexber is looking like a good value pick for the Reign so far. This season Nexber has produced adequately as he has remained steady around a point per game for the second place storm. Playing with such a successful VHLM team will surely give him a winning mentality which will help him once he joins the reign. Nexber is expected to make the jump to the VHL next season as he will likely play a depth role for Riga in his first season in the bigs.

Riga's next most valuable prospect will be extremely important to there future plans next season as he fills a big positional need for the team. As of right now Riga's defense core looks to be thin heading into next season with there top two defenders retiring at the end of the season. Enter Houston defensemen Jared Carter @jaredc7 who was selected astoundingly at 87th overall in the S75 draft. At 295 TPE Jared Carter proved to be a diamond in the rough becoming a massive steal. Carter has played valuable minutes so far this season as he features on the top pair for the stacked Houston Bulls. So far he has produced well posting 42 points in 69 games as well as having a +51 on the season which is extremely impressive. He will certainly join Riga next season and play along side other talented defensemen such as Zetterstrom and Thunder.

Riga's third prospect projected to make the jump next season is Matthew A Sovick Jr. @matt sovick. At 106th overall Sovick is an extremely late pick up by Riga, similar to Nexber and Carter. At 256 TPE Sovick like Jared carter can be classified as a steal since finding any player, even a goalie at 106th overall that makes the VHL is impressive. Currently Sovick is backstopping a competitive Yukon Rush team to a playoff berth posting very respectable numbers as right now he currently sits third in wins in the VHLM. As for Sovicks future role with the team, he most likely will play as the backup goaltender behind Calvin Harvey as Cal Conway looks like he may be on his way out which would make him one of the latest draft picks to ever make the VHL.

With these three prospects all set to be promoted to the big leagues next season, as well as there S77 draft pick likely joining the team, Riga will be able to add to there already impressive prospect depth in there lineup as they look to improve into contention.

Some members are writing about their 2020 here, but I won't do that. Mainly because there was nothing out of ordinary things that happened with me last year. Even with C-19 thing. I still have a job, place to live and I had a fun summer. So instead of that I'm just gonna do more boring stuff and type something about Riga Reign's S75 because this was an interesting one. I'll name stuff that I liked in this season and what not really.

    - 29 wins. A pleasant surprise. We didn't have a hell of a roster and most likely we were expected to score less wins. But our players did everything to not make us the pushovers. We managed to perhaps being the most annoying team for most of contenders. Especially to Prague, Davos and Warsaw. And I believe we won Chicago more than once and yet they are three wins away from the finals. Big lmao at STHS.

    - Trade for Calvin Harvey. One of main reasons why we did decently this season was the player who wasn't getting a lot of chances in his previous team, Helsinki Titans. Nobody else wanted him so I managed to get him for a cheap price which was certainly a win for me. I mean, Klamasteris is two seasons younger and I'm also capping at 12 TPE, but Harvey gives us way more chances to get out of the rebuild phase ASAP. And also he had some neat games this season, including a 70 save game in a win against Warsaw. 100% positive moment for our team.

    - Extending Harvey and Rocket. Another positive news came during the playoffs. Calvin Harvey made our life more exciting so I was very interested to keep him in Riga. The same level of excitement came from him in our extension talks and as the result he signed with us for 5 more seasons! Our goaltending is now locked for the long time. As for Rocket, things were more difficult out there. And not because of player himself - we were about to welcome six wingers from minors next season which made things a bit tense for me. However, Cabe McJake decided to switch to a center so it opened a spot for another one and I reached up to Rocket with the extension offer. He was cool with it so here we go, two more seasons of Rocket in Riga! I do plan to make at least one extension later in the offseason by the way.

    - The reborn of forum locker room. I don't know how long this will last, but this season was a total success. We managed to reach 17 pages as of this moment and while this may be far from the best results VHL[M] forum lockers were producing back in the day; I'd say I was pleased with the activity in Riga LR. Big credit goes to @Eynhallow for making this happen.

    - The overall excitement about our future. I had to give back some S76 picks for making this happen, but I'm happy with the result. Nearly everyone is active an earning from 6 to 13 TPE weekly (plus some uncapped opportunities) and even one of rare inactives Hi Hello appeared to be a multi. We are about to have a nice deep roster with three full lines consisting of 320-450 TPE guys even before the season starts. Also, Zetterstrom and Thunder at D with Carter and McBighit coming up later. *Excited hedgehog noises*

    - Not making the playoffs. Literally the only negative from this season. Our playoff appearances record was officially over this season and it's kinda boring to not play in the post season. But hey, sacrifises need to be made for the bright future rather than dragging our contention window with the previous players just to perhaps becoming a mediocrity.

As you can see, despite being a rebuilding team I'm finding this season having way more positives than negatives. Contending season after season is cool obviously, but sometimes I need a change of scenery and prove that I actually can make a nice rebuild as well. Makes my GM job more fun to be honest.

At the end of this article I'd like to say thanks to every single Riga player and prospect for willing to grind for TPE week after week, even in holiday season. I believe we will have a very bright future and longterm contention window and you will be the reason why this is going to be possible! See you in S76/77.

VHL S75 Power ranking based on TPA
We are just a week from the beginning of the season 75, the draft is done and most teams are starting to have their lineup ready to begin this season. It is now time to do our predictions and do our fantasy picks. It is not an easy thing to predict which team will finish at the top of the league and which team will win the cup but it is easier when there is a power ranking to compare these teams and make your choices. This is what this article will be about, every teams will be ranked from 1st to 16h with also their ranking at offense, defense and goal-tending. Please note that this ranking doesn't include the prospects and only focus on the upcoming season.

    1st: Helsinki Titans

    Total TPA: 7,496
    OFF: 4,076 (3)
    DEF: 2,260 (7)
    G: 1,160 (3)

With a presence in the continental cup finals last season, Helsinki seems to be ready for an other huge season, with one of the best offense and one of the best goal-tending duo in the league they are again a solid contender for the cup this season.

    2nd: Calgary Wranglers

    Total TPA: 7,469
    OFF: 3,859 (6)
    DEF: 2,436 (6)
    G: 1,174 (1)

Calgary went all-in for this season by trading all their draft picks to Riga for top players and it paid off. With the best goaltender duo in the league and an impressive first line, Calgary should have an amazing season.

    3rd: London United

    Total TPA: 7,450
    OFF: 3,906 (5)
    DEF: 2,953 (1)
    G: 591 (11)

With the third spot on this list, we have a team that could not only make their very first playoff appearance, but also be one of the contenders for the continental cup. With the best defense in the league, London is set to have success.

    4th: Moscow Menace

    Total TPA: 7,402
    OFF: 3,521 (8)
    DEF: 2,711 (2)
    G: 1,170 (2)

For this season, Moscow seems to have no real weakness, they are looking good on both sides of the ice and they can always trust their starter goalie Raymond Bernard who is surely gonna give the best of himself to win a cup in his last season in the league.

    5th: Seattle Bears

    Total TPA: 7,266
    OFF: 4,514 (1)
    DEF: 2,108 (8)
    G: 644 (10)

Some people like to say that the best defense is a good offense, if this is true, Seattle should be a team to watch closely this season. One thing is sure, they should give us a ton of goals and will possibly be the most entertaining team to watch. Who doesn't like goals?

    6th: Prague Phantoms

    Total TPA: 7,205
    OFF: 4,133 (2)
    DEF: 2,549 (5)
    G: 523 (13)

With the second best offense in the league this season Prague is an other team that is gonna score a lot of goals. As a team that never won a cup yet, the motivation is surely present in the locker room, bringing their fans a cup home for the first time in S75 is something that is very possible.

    7th: Malmo Nighthawks

    Total TPA: 7,017
    OFF: 3,757 (7)
    DEF: 2,500 (4)
    G: 760 (7)

An other team that never won a continental cup. For this season, Malmo will be counting on an a solid defense composed of an aging first duo. They should be one of the teams battling for a playoff spot.

    8th: D.C. Dragons

    Total TPA: 6,810
    OFF: 3,284 (10)
    DEF: 2,556 (3)
    G: 970 (4)

D.C. has maybe not the best total of TPA but their starter goalie and their impressive defense could really give them a spot in the playoffs. With most of their players getting old their plan is most likely to win now.

    9th: HC Davos Dynamo

    Total TPA: 6,500
    OFF: 4,004 (4)
    DEF: 1,702 (12)
    G: 794 (6)

Davos is an other team that should be battling for a playoff spot according to their ranking. Their offense is among the best in the league and should rely on it to succeed.

    10th: Vancouver Wolves

    Total TPA: 6,019
    OFF: 3,519 (9)
    DEF: 1,842 (9)
    G: 658 (9)

Our S74 continental cup champions, the Vancouver Wolves come at the 10th spot on this ranking. With the loss of their top forward in Jeff Downey, Vancouver will start this season with an average young team that will keep getting better.

    11th: Warsaw Predators

    Total TPA: 5,399
    OFF: 3,118 (11)
    DEF: 1,761 (11)
    G: 520 (14)

Warsaw is probably not a playoff team yet but their roster is filled with young talent and their goal for this season is most likely to make sure everyone keep doing progress.

    12th: Chicago Phoenix

    Total TPA: 5,056
    OFF: 2,725 (12)
    DEF: 1,821 (10)
    G: 510 (15)

An other team that is probably be at the bottom of the leader board this year, Chicago will also rely on their young players and watch them doing progress.

    13th: Los Angeles Stars

    Total TPA: 4,930
    OFF: 2,645 (13)
    DEF: 1,605 (13)
    G: 680 (8)

S75 might not be the season that Los Angeles is getting a spot in the playoffs, they might focus on the future of the team more than the coming season

    14th: Toronto Legion

    Total TPA: 4,609
    OFF: 2,299 (14)
    DEF: 1,411 (14)
    G: 899 (5)

Even if Toronto has one of the best goalie this season, their young core seems to be not enough to be a playoff team. Maybe Hextall could carry the team but it won't be easy.

    15th: Riga Reign

    Total TPA: 3,464
    OFF: 1,783 (16)
    DEF: 1,382 (15)
    G: 299 (16)

Riga shocked the VHL during this off season by announcing a rebuild. Considered one of the biggest dynasty in the VHL, seeing Riga at the bottom hasn't happened in a very long time.

    16th: New York Americans

    Total TPA: 3,305
    OFF: 1,912 (15)
