  21. Credit to @v.2 Welcome to the presentation of the S81 VHLE Awards! The second season of the European league’s existence did not disappoint. We were treated to a close battle in the standings all season and an exciting playoffs that saw the Stockholm Vikings win their first Renaissance Cup. We have teams, players, and a GM to honor for their accomplishments this season. Here we go! Renaissance Cup Stockholm Vikings The Vikings had a terrific season capped by their first ever VHLE championship. Top Regular Season Team Istanbul Red Wolves Leader in Goals Brussels Sprout, Oslo Storm 62 goals @Liberty_Cabbage Leader in Assists Zeljko Ranogajec, Cologne Express 103 assists @ColeMrtz Leader in Points Brussels Sprout, Oslo Storm 130 points @Liberty_Cabbage Lowest GAA The Red Menace, Istanbul Red Wolves 2.91 GAA Regular Season MVP This season's VHLE MVP helped their team to a second-place finish in the regular season. They were second in the league in goals, with 57, and second in points, with 128. They also tied for fourth in assists (71) and led the league by a wide margin in shots; 542. Needless to say, they were a force all season. This season's MVP is... Top Defender Second is the award for the best defender in the regular season. This player did it all on the backend; they led blueliners in points during the regular season, with 110. In addition, they led all players in assists, and not by a little, posting 103, 20 more than the second-place finisher. Furthermore, this defender was ninth in shots blocked (178) as well as fourth in hits (303). Like Karjalainen, they played a pivotal role in their team making the playoffs. This season's top defender is... Top Goaltender Next up is the award for the last-line of defense; the top goalie. This player followed up their Season 80 Founder's Cup Championship with an excellent performance in their first season in the VHLE. They were second in wins with 32, first in save percentage with a terrific 0.925, first in shutouts with five, and also first in GAA with a 2.91! That last part may have given it away as they already won the honor for lowest GAA, but the winner is... Top Two-Way Forward Moving forward with the awards show we now have the prize for the best two-way forward in the league this season. This honor is interesting as it has no set winner and it takes many factors into account. This forward led their team to a first-place finish in the regular season with the most goals (49) and points (98) on the team. They also had 260 hits, good for first on that team and ninth in the league. With a respectable 31 shots blocked and +11 rating, this season's winner is... Playoff MVP Now we shift our focus from the regular season, to the playoffs. This player led the league in the postseason with 9 goals and 20 points. They had the most shots too, with 73, and a league-best rating of +12. Arguably most importantly, they scored the series-winning goal for their team to advance to the Renaissance Cup Final, where they would again contribute greatly to their team's success, guiding them to a Cup victory. The winner is... Top Executive/GM Last but certainly not least we have the award for best general manager. This GM built on their team's performance in Season 80. They brought back most of their roster from when they placed first in the league last season, and made some key moves near the trade deadline to bolster their Cup chances. Those acquisitions would later pay dividends, as the team would capture their first-ever Renaissance Cup Championship. This GM has now won this award for the second consecutive season, and for good reason. The winner is... Congratulations to all of this season's winners! Let's have another great season in Season 82!
