  1. This is a good graphic, and it looks nice. Though there are some things you could change about it. I think the text blends too into the background, and the inside of the text just adds to the overchaoticness of it. The actual fire distorts the image and makes it look messy. However the logo swap you did is very clean. Good graphic, could use some improving. Rating: 5/10
  2. *show's theme song plays and it opens on the set of the sports news show, with the host Joe Smith sitting across from Donny Carter* Smith: Well welcome back everyone, my name is Joe Smith and I have here with me, Houston Bulls forward Donny Carter. Donny how are you doing today? Carter: Joe I'm doing great, how about you. Smith: I'm good, I'm good. Now Donny tell me, how do you feel about your first season being in the books? Carter: I couldn't be happier with it, I completed the goals I had and while we had a few stretches in the regular season where we struggled, we had a nice upset in the series against uhhh, it was Halifax. Smith: How were you guys able to pull that off? Carter: Honestly we got beat pretty bad in those first two games, we went into the third one with a mindset of: Don't get embarrassed. Then we won with a bit of authority and thought, "Hey we could get back into the series!" We keep pushing and win game 4. The game 5 loss hurt but then we fought back and won game 6. Then, game 7 you know what happened. We got pucks in deep, played as hard as we could and pulled off the upset. That was not the expectation for us going into a series against the top team in the league, so winning that series made the whole season a success. Thankfully our expectations weren't too high and even though we got swept in round two, we were still really happy about that upset. Now we are heading into this next season and we are looking ready to make a run next season. Smith: That upset was probably one of the most interesting and entertaining series of the entire playoffs. I'm very excited to see what the Bulls have coming for next season. Now let's shift gears and look at the VHLM draft. You and the Bulls lost some key players but management was able to keep you. Thoughts? Carter: It did hurt to lose Baardo, he was a key addition to the team and not getting him back will definitely be a hit. I am happy that Houston management decided tp bring me back, I had a lot of fun on this team last year and I think there's a lot more I can bring to the table in my sophomore year. Smith: How about the major leagues draft? You were selected 22nd overall by Riga, how was that for you? And do you think you are going to be going to the majors after next season? Carter: Well I was very pleasantly surprised to be selected as high as 22nd, and I'm already getting acclimated to the locker room. I'm happy to have some Bulls teammates from last season on that squad, with Jugsy and Mik. Those guys are really skilled and while I do hope to hit majors next season, if my game needs more development by the time next season rolls around then I'll do one more season in the minors, hopefully with the Bulls. Smith: Well Donny it's always a pleasure, and I can't wait to have you on here again! Carter: Like always thanks for having me Joe! *show's theme song plays and it fades to commercials* 558 Words For Week of 7/25
  3. This might be the best graphic I've seen on this website. The logo swaps are astonishing and the way you made the goalie masks fit in with the rest of the design is insane. The text rounds it all out and makes this graphic perfect. 11/10
  4. 1. It stinks for that team, but if a lot of key players are leaving then I guess it's the best option. 2. I think that's always the goal, and this season I hope we can make a big push. 3. I don't have a specific player, I'm just interested to see how everything plays out. 4. To get 25 goals and 40 assists. 5. Second round of the playoffs at least. 6. Well I'm interested to see how it plays out for Riga in the big leagues as they are the team who drafted me. 1. A 24 pack of Instant Ramen. 2. Eye of the Tiger 3. Probably Cody Lachance, he was on the team last year too. 4. Stretching, shoot some pucks, nothing special. 5. Bowling. 6. I'm not able to disclose that information.
  5. Review: Really clean graphic you have here. The font and text you used works perfectly for the theme, and all the colors are very nice, even though it's mostly blue. The one issue I have is that there was no logo swap attempt made, but because you didn't put the team the player is a part of in the VHL makes the logo swap less needed. Very good graphic. 8.5/10
  6. This graphic is very cool, the background and the text contrast, which help both pop. The bright colors you used also contrast the dark uniform of the player very well. The one thing is you didn't do any sort of logo swap, so the text is the only thing that shows this relates to the VHL. I think a logo swap would have made this a lot better, but the colors and text are still very good. 6.5 / 10
  7. Review: This looks like a simple graphic, but when you dig into it, it's very complex. The logo swap looks so good it almost seems like there wasn't a swap, showing the skill put into this graphic. Other than that it is simpler, with just some changes between color and black and white, while done well, nothing to write home about. A very cool graphic, 8/10.
  8. Review: Dude this looks absolutely sick, I may be a little bias since I'm on the Bulls, but I love every bit of this. Everything about the jerseys is great, the name and logo swaps are so clean. The text of "Bulls' over the top and even the small detail of the city of Houston in the background bring this piece together. 10/10!
  9. Review: I think you did really well here, creating a clean jersey that very well could be used. The colors all work together, and the different stripes cut up the sea of dark blue and give some pop. The logo is very good and the anchors as the shoulder logos look really good. The colors also go with the theme of watchmen and water. Overall this design is very good, it isn't the most exciting graphic, obviously because it's a jersey, so overall I'll give this a 7/10.
  10. *The show's theme song plays as Joe Smith, the host, is shown sitting down across from Donny Carter* Smith: Welcome back to the show Donny! Carter: It's always a pleasure! Smith: So, the recent news on the VHLE is very intriguing isn't it Donny? Carter: It's great that Europe is getting included in the VHL player development, and it also means that guys who aren't ready for the VHL don't have to be ready and can go hang out in Europe for a while. As an American that's really cool because I've never been able to spend a lot of time in Europe, and that experience could be really fun. Smith: Any places you've been looking to go in particular? Carter: Honestly Italy seems pretty cool, if there's a team in Paris that would be nice as well. Smith: Ah, the city of love? Carter: Nah, city of pastries. I would love to be able to have some fresh baked sweets after a workout. *Smith laughs for too long* Smith: That's true, you know I've been to Paris once. Carter: Really? Why? Smith: Vacation. Got to see some pretty amazing stuff. It's a beautiful city. Anyway, do you think you'll be playing in the VHLE? Carter: Honestly I still don't really understand the whole system yet, or when it will be implemented. I know I am preparing for the VHL Draft and getting ready for mid-season interviews, so I think i'll need to focus on that and also my season before I focus on the VHLE, but it is a very cool concept and I like that it is being implemented. Smith: That makes a lot of sense Donny, and I'm very interested to see where your career goes. Until next time! Carter: See you next time Joe! Thanks for having me! *Show theme song plays as it cuts to commercial. Commercials play for random toilet paper and juice. Show opens back on the studio where it's just Joe now* Smith: Now a little more on the VHLE. There are no confirmed teams in the league yet, but there are several who many think are basically confirmed. Vasteras, Cologne, and Bratislava all have a history of some kind in the VHL, and now will get a chance to return to the league. The way development will work will have players going from the VHLM to the VHLE before making the big leagues. It should be interesting to see young stars now lighting up two leagues to make a big impression on the VHL GMs before they get to the majors. It's going to be very interesting to see what other teams will be in the European league. Personally I'm hoping for Paris, Rome, maybe one in Switzerland, and one in Norway perhaps? I'm just excited for all the speculation that's happening, and also excited for all the new stuff coming to the VHL! That's going to be it for me today on this special VHLE themed episode, I'm Joe Smith and this is *name of news show*! *cut to black* Word Count : 510 Counting for week ending 6/13
  11. Review: Love all the design aspects of this, everything is so clean from the logo swap to the background. Amazing job on this one, 10/10.
  12. *Intro to the segment on a sports show plays. The show's host, Joe Smith, is sitting in a chair in the middle of the room, with Donny Carter sitting across from him.* Smith: Welcome back everyone, we are here once again with Donny Carter, a player who seems to be hitting his stride with Houston! Donny, welcome back to the show. Carter: Thanks for having me! Smith: Donny you recently scored your first VHLM goal, how'd it feel to get on the board? Carter: Honestly it felt great. Scoring and having all the fans cheering and all the guys on the bench going crazy, it was an amazing moment. Also kind of a relief, I wanted to prove myself to the team, and I think that with my play recently I've been able to show that I have a high compete level and I can play with the best of em. Smith: Was there any changes that sparked this surge in production from you? Carter: Well I discovered salad! (laughter) But in all seriousness we had some new signings join the team, Yoro, Frosty, Baardo. Kind of reshaping how the team is and adding some needed depth that has improved the team. I've gotten some new linemates and also I've changed my exercise routine and I think that's helping me to get more in shape. I'm making smarter plays and such, just happy with everything over the past week or so. Smith: Sounds like some good positive changes. Any good locker room stories? Carter: None that can be shared on here Joe! (laughter) Smith: (laughs a bit too hard at the small joke then composes himself and clears his throat.) Anyway I think we had better move on, next up we take a look at the VHLM standings. Donny, always a pleasure. Carter: The pleasure's all mine Joe. Smith: We'll be right back after these messages. *cut to several commercials about useless random products* *cuts back to the news studio* Smith: Welcome back everyone! It's now time to take a quick look at the current standings in the VHLM! Halifax and Yukon have powered their way into the top spots in the league and in their respective conferences, while early signs of what the playoff race will look like are forming. In the Western Conference the race is not too close, as the top four teams are far ahead of the other two, Mexico City and Las Vegas. The Kings and Aces will need to make some big changes if they want to be competitive in the playoffs, as they are both over 20 points behind the top four teams. However looking at the Eastern Conference, there are three powerhouse teams in Halifax, Minnesota, and Philadelphia. All of these teams are far ahead of the other three, meaning there will be an intense race for a playoff spot between Ottawa, Miami, and Mississauga, though whoever wins that race will probably be wiped out by Halifax in the playoffs. *Someone waves behind the camera for Joe to wrap it up* Smith: Well that's about all the time we have for today, see you next time on (name of sports show)! *cuts to black* Word Count - 532 Points will be for the week of June 6th
  13. Review: This is a fantastic graphic, full of details and great choices by the artist. The font sticks out perfectly, and the background and main logo swap do so much to the image. The shoulder and helmet logo swaps are not as clean, but other than that it is perfect. 9.8/10
  14. Review: This is amazing, and as a teammate I absolutely love this as a sort of recruitment poster. All the colors and shading work perfectly, the font is amazing, the logo swaps are almost seamless, and as that is the only minor criticism and it is very hard to do logo swaps, this is getting a 9.9/10.
  15. The Houston Bulls have started the season well, with a 8-4-2 record, they are 6th in the 12 team league. They have lots of room for improvement, however that does not overshadow the play of their top players. Forward Cody Lachance is tied for the league lead in points, and is second in assists. He has lead their offense, with the help of Anze Miklavz's scoring talent to finish his passes. On the back end, their 8th overall pick in the draft, Milk Jugs, has been a star for the Bulls. He is 8th in the league in points by a defenseman, and is a stalwart on the back end. Another high scoring forward is Ryan Li, as he has 24 points in the 14 games played so far. Pretty even on assists and goals, Li is a guy that Houston can count on to support the team. With their goalie Aike van Giersbergen being solid in net, the Bulls have a chance to bring it to the next level this season and compete for the Founders Cup. Word Count: 178
  16. Review: Really well done here, the font looks amazing, and the player and background enhance the image a ton. The one thing would be to make the logo swap a bit cleaner, but other than that great job here! 9/10
  17. *Sports News Show theme plays* Host: And welcome back to the show, I'm now joined by Donny Carter, a Houston Bulls forward and rookie in the VHLM. Donny, welcome to the show. Carter: Thanks for having me! Host: After not being drafted in the VHLM entry draft, did that get into your head at all? Carter: Well, I knew I wasn't a top player in the draft, and I didn't focus on my career enough in the year heading up to it. In the month before I tried to save any draft stock I could have had, but was a bit late and teams passed on me. I didn't let that get me down, as it was my fault in the first place, so I just had to work harder to get signed by a team. Host: And you were signed the very next day by the Houston Bulls. Why do you think GM rjfryman signed you over other players? Carter: The Bulls are a team who has a lot of top talent, shown by my teammates Milk Jugs, Cody Lachance, and Anze Miklavz. We are looking to make a go for the playoffs and rj contacted me and wanted to add some depth the the roster. Obviously I accepted and I feel like I am a guy who can grow throughout the season. Host: What's your opinion on how the Bulls and yourself are doing so far? Carter: Well, I think I definitely have more to give for the team, as I only have a few assists in the first few games, and as a team, I think we also have a lot more to show. I think we're 4th in the conference, and the last two games were some rough losses. We for sure should be able to push through this rough patch to be a big threat for other teams in the league. Host: Sounds like you have some challenges ahead. How have the Bulls been welcoming to you and any other new players. Carter: I was very excited to get the contract, and I'm glad it's for three whole seasons, because I have really enjoyed my time here in Houston. I was welcomed instantly, and have fit into the locker room quite well. It's been a fun time, and we're a team full of fun people. Winning has been great, and we feel that this team is one that can definitely give other teams a run for their money. Host: It will be exciting to see how this season goes for you guys, I find myself wanting to root for the Bulls! Anyway, what type of play style are you trying to model your game as, and how do you think you have done so far? Carter: I feel like I am more of a two way, gritty winger. Providing scoring when it's needed and such. I haven't found the net, but I think I will quite soon. As for my defensive and gritty game, I think I'm providing what I need for my team at this moment, though I have taken a few unnecessary penalties. I'm still ironing out the bumps in my game, but once I feel comfortable, be ready to see Donny time. Host: *laughs* Alright Donny on that note I think we'll end it here, though I hope to have you on here again. Carter: Thank you so much, I'll see you later! *Cut to commerical* - 574 words - Just counting for week ending 5/30
  18. Review: This is pretty creative and funny, Milk Jugs definitely has a fun personality and that's shown by his answers to the questions. Only thing that could be fixed would be just capitalization. Rating: 8/10
  19. I made my player Donny Carter a player card. I changed up the original design by swapping the head of in game into a headshot, and switched up backgrounds. Hope you like it!
  20. Review: This looks pheonominal! There is detail everywhere and everything looks so amazing. The logo to the hit to both faces. Astonishing work dude! 11/10
  21. Appreciate the feedback! I don't think most people would notice but I cut out Trent Frederic's head and put it on a shot of Matt Tkachuk with the reverse retros for calgary bc they look like houston's colors. The background will definitely be something I work to make better in future pictures. Thanks!
  22. This actually looks pretty cool! The font and text definitely is the highlight here. For the logos, it's good you covered them all up, and maybe next time you can clean up the logos by cutting them to fit the ones they were put over, instead of just putting them onto the logos and calling it a day. I'll say 6/10 but easy improvement can make it a lot better.
