  1. Not going to argue empiric data... I think BoJo is a worthy candidate for the Slobo and from a fact based POV should get the nod imo... however, I am an egoistic bastard and hope to win regardless (and if it is just to keep you at bay TPE wise)... Also: Why should the VHL be different from the NHL(Ted Lindsay/Lester B. Pearson Award): In the last 20 years all but once (2015 Price) the trophy went to a forward and never to a defender (even though last season Makar as well as Josi had valid claims on it). In fact, the last (and only) time the award was given to a defender, was when Bobby Orr won it in 1975. I mean in the NHL there is at least footage you can look at and see how amazing players are... we do not have the luxury of that in the VHL and have to go by obscure data, some of which are clearly a team stat more than a individual one (yes +/- rating, I am looking at you). Anyway congrats to your amazing season and to more to come...
  2. the fewest indeed... which makes your sb stat all the more remarkable... chapeau as the Italians say
  3. Well shots blocked is also a double-edged sword as high numbers in that field means to me that you were dominated a lot during the season (i.e. done a poor or at least sub-par job on denying the puck/shot lanes)... I mean the record holder is creed with 400+ sb in one season in a team which got blasted out of the water that season...
  4. Unless your family name spells J-a-g-r then you are in your prime
  5. I mean, the only thing I see lacking in BoJo is the goal scoring. Only 11 goals (5 on power play) with a the 9th-highest powerplay presence leaguewide strikes me as too few, even considering the pass-first build.
  6. *Snub bed Analfist is 45 years of age... not really World Junior Cup material... once the VHL launches the WGC (World Geriatric Cup) *Snub bed will not be FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY any longer, I am sure.
  7. It is called a seahorse OD... smh my head... Jokes aside I really like what you did with this signature, thanks for sharing your talent with us.
  8. @jRuutu multi confirmed, how can someone get away with such blatant multis? outrageous... Hyvää uutta vuotta
  9. 1. I was expecting more, but Fuhr simply stole two (maybe three) games for Vancouver and we could not return the favour. 2. I will bank to fight old age (at least that is the plan). 3. I did not expect Istanbul to do as well as we did and Seattle being out of the playoffs was a surprise as well. 4. I will participate in the ProAM and I will sneak peek into the JST to see whether I can snatch some gems for the Red Wolves. 5. We had a few drinks with my in-laws and we lit some fireworks. 6. Going to Denmark for two weeks in summer.
  10. Kind of sort of... if you win the lottery tournament you can better your chances to draw the number one spot...
  11. Well I find it has its justification as it may prevent the 'Tanking for number one pick', as you still need to win the lottery to secure the first pick. And it may feel like some redemption for a team who was just FISTED ANALLY BY A CIRCUS MONKEY by Simon T. during the regular season. But to be honest, I cannot tell you any of the Lottery winners either.
  12. Graphic courtesy of Leandrofg (Marcel's stats/Daniel's stats) As our more ardent followers of this series might know, Calgary (and by proxy, the Jansers) were not able to defeat Vancouver, despite a one-sided record against this team in the regular season. Once more, GM Ricer needs to go back to the drawing board and to the statistics to find out, why the Wranglers could not convert their regular season dominance into the playoffs. This newspaper believes that the achilles heel in the team is the starting netminder Dahl. With the exception of three skaters, all the Wranglers performed on par or better in the post season than in the 72 games leading to the playoffs. Vancouver's Fuhr clearly stole two wins (arguably three). Dahl was not able to match this pace, which in combination with a very weak powerplay ultimately lead to the bitter end for the Albertan franchise. Please find for good order's sake the brothers' stats for the post season: Marcel: 5gp, 1g, 2a, 3pts, -3, 8 PIM, 9 hits, 7 sb, 1ppg Daniel: 5gp, 4g, 5a, 9pts, +5, 22 PIM, 22 hits, 6sb, 61.87FO% While the early R&R phase is a shame for the ambitious Swiss delegation in Alberta, it has its (albeit bittersweet) advantages. Dan has signed up for the ProAm tournament again and he may even represent Western Europe in the upcoming WC, so there is still hope that he can add some silverware to his personal trophy case. For all those who were not able to watch Calgary's last match (or preferred to switch off after the final whistle): As soon as the horn ended the series, Daniel took the mic, went on his knee and proposed to Bonnie. The Scottish Punkrocker accepted under tears. A date for them tying the knot is not determined yet, but we will make sure to let our readers know as soon as we have more details on the matter. https://vhlforum.com/topic/130553-a-tale-of-two-brothers-another-brick-in-the-wall/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/130908-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-final-quarter-s86/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/130952-a-tale-of-two-brothers-the-final-stretch/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/131086-unofficial-vhl-s86-playoff-predictions/ https://vhlforum.com/topic/131090-a-tale-of-two-brothers-another-post-season-for-calgary/
  13. Juan Ceson pawning away Zam-Pony despite same having a 69 year contract with the Las Vegas Aces... sus.
  14. Mine was more of a general recommendation, as I claimed welfare on Monday in the firm belief I would not have time/motivation to do a PT... and did the PT on Tuesday... Spartan was kind enough to unclaim welfare and confirm the PT... Having said that, I did indeed not pay attention to the time bar set by beks and would have claimed doubles for next week anyway...
  15. only ever claim welfare at the last minute... just my two cents on the matter as I stepped into this one myself
  16. fair enough, it would be bad style to follow the sims during Christmas Dinner anyways. Enjoy your free days with your kin.
  17. After weeks of negotiations, where neither party pulled the blows, the GM and Napoleon Dynamite came to a consent on the terms for an extension of the expiring contract.
  18. And I simply thought because the initials read 'OG'... apparently life ain't that simple...
  19. Me neither. Despite indisputably being Cole's fault, I fixed it for you.
