It’s Not Always About The Game

    NAME: Leonard Triller
    BIRTHPLACE: North Battleford, Saskatchewan
    RESIDES IN: London, England
    HEIGHT: 6'3’
    WEIGHT: 210 lbs
    POSITION: Right Winger

Leonard Triller, a Canadian-born hockey player, has embarked on a remarkable journey of cultural exploration, personal growth, and triumph on and off the ice. From his early days on a frozen river in Saskatchewan to his current endeavors, Triller's story is a testament to passion, perseverance, and the connections he has formed along the way.

Born and raised in the humble town of North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Triller discovered his love for hockey under his father's patient guidance. From the moment he took his first strides on a homemade rink in their backyard, it was clear that Triller possessed a natural talent and an unyielding determination. As he grew older, his dreams of making an impact on the world stage intensified, driving him to push his skills to new heights.

Triller's pursuit of hockey excellence brought him to the vibrant city of Saskatoon, where he joined the Saskatoon Wild and honed his skills among a community of passionate teammates. The frozen Saskatchewan city provided the perfect backdrop for Triller to showcase his talent and develop his game. But beyond the arena, he also immersed himself in the local culture, attending art exhibits and community festivals. These experiences broadened his perspective and deepened his appreciation for the "land of the living skies" and the people that call it home.  The Roughrider games in Regina that he attended in the off-season were filled with the same passionate and rambunctious fans that supported him in his first season in the VHLM and he would take that excitement with him moving forward.

In pursuit of new challenges and opportunities, Triller's journey led him to the sun-soaked beaches and dynamic atmosphere of San Diego. Drafted to the Marlins, he not only thrived on the ice but also embraced the city's vibrant energy. In between practices and games, Triller ventured out to explore the local landmarks and attractions. He marveled at the beauty of Balboa Park, enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the Gaslamp Quarter, and immersed himself in the city's thriving culinary scene. It was during his time in San Diego that Triller formed lasting bonds with teammates Adam Rage and Kronchy Kardashian, sharing triumphs and creating lifelong friendships.  This is also where Leonard made an important connection with his GM, Jacob Carson who cultivated a team culture that went beyond just the locker room.  In the end, nothing cemented these connections more than bringing the first Founders Cup to San Diego and its passionate fans.  The parade down Mission Boulevard and the ensuing party on the beautiful Mission Beach is something Triller will never forget.

Triller's thirst for new experiences and his selection into the VHLE led him across the Atlantic to the historic city of Geneva, Switzerland. Stepping onto the ice as a member of the Geneva Rush, he was captivated by the city's charm and its fusion of cultures. Off the ice, Triller embraced the opportunity to explore the city's historic landmarks, meandering through the enchanting streets of the Old Town and taking in the breathtaking views of Lake Geneva. Indulging in Swiss delicacies such as fondue and chocolate became a delightful part of his cultural immersion. It was in Geneva that Triller reunited with his former teammate Kronchy Kardashian, reigniting their shared determination to leave a lasting mark on the European hockey scene and though the team was unable to hoist the coveted Renaissance Cup, they had unexpected success all season long.

Now, making his highly anticipated debut in the VHL and in the historic city of London, Triller continues his pursuit of greatness as a member of the renowned London United where he joins his former Marlins teammate, Adam Rage. The city's vibrant energy, historic landmarks, and thriving cultural scene provide the perfect backdrop for his ongoing journey. In his free time, Triller explores the bustling streets of Covent Garden, taking in the iconic sights of the Tower Bridge, Big Ben and the British Museum. He finds inspiration in the city's rich history and its unwavering passion for sport.

In a crowning moment of triumph, in his rookie season, Triller and his London United teammates achieved an extraordinary feat, winning the Continental Cup. Their commitment to excellence in the playoffs propelled them to victory, and the city of London erupted in celebration. The triumphant team paraded through the historic streets, greeted by an adoring crowd that hailed their achievement. The parade became a vivid testament to Triller's pivotal role in the victory and the appreciation of the city for their hockey heroes.  Football was no longer the only champion sport in London.

Beyond the exhilaration of victory, Triller's deepest joy stems from the connections he has formed throughout his journey. While his family's physical presence may not always be by his side due to the demands of his career, their unwavering belief in him remains a constant source of strength. Whether it's his parents cheering from the stands during important games or the cherished moments spent connecting with his sister and niece, Triller draws inspiration from the deep bonds of family. Their love and support fuel his determination to continue striving for greatness.

As Leonard Triller's journey continues to unfold, the path ahead holds endless possibilities. With each stride on the ice and every new city he calls home, he embraces the opportunity for cultural immersion, personal growth, and triumph. Through the power of hockey, he has discovered the capacity to transcend borders and unite individuals from different backgrounds. With a passion that burns brighter than ever, Triller is poised to leave a lasting mark on the sport and the world, forever etching his name in the annals of Canadian hockey history.

His remarkable journey serves as a testament to the transformative power of sports, the enduring bonds formed with teammates, and the unwavering support of family. With each chapter he writes, Leonard Triller exemplifies the dedication, determination, and spirit that define a true champion. As he continues to carve his path on the ice with the London United and immerse himself in new cultures, the world eagerly awaits the next chapter in the extraordinary story of Leonard Triller.

This took too long to write and I am glad it is done!  Thought it needed to be over 1000 words and just found out it only needed to be 800.  Hope you enjoyed!

My predictions for this season for only one of my players.

So Callum Murray is entering into his last season he has been a lifer on the Los Angeles Stars but has decided that at the end of this season he will call it quits. Last season Murray for the second time in his career has hit over a point per game. I am hoping that this season he can hit some personal bests. Also this season Murray is going to play with the C on his chest and he does not take this sort of responsibility lightly, he wants to be a strong leader on and off the ice with his team mates. With only 3 defenders currently signed on with the Stars Murray will need to do a lot if he wishes to make it deep into playoffs. My guess for this season is this is how Murray’s stat line will look at the end of the season.

Games Played – 72, I am hoping as the captain of the team that I will get to play every game.
Goals – 29, Murray has never hit the 30 goal mark and honestly I don’t think he ever will sure he has always worked as a more defensive player but I think this season he might set a personal best with 29.
Assists – 48, apart from season 86 Murray has always had assists between 48-51 I think that this season with him scoring more goals his assists might drop a bit.
    Points – 77, another personal best here as well for Murray. I won’t write anymore as 29 + 48 = 77
+/- - +1, I think that Los Angeles might struggle a bit this season and I am hoping that Murray can hold a positive +/- but I don’t think he will really excel.
Shots – 250, The past three seasons Murray has been shooting around the 250 mark so I think it will probably stay pretty similar.
Penalty Minutes – 70, I am hoping that in my older age I get a bit more level headed and that I stop taking silly penalties. Especially now being the Captain I am more use to the team on the ice or on the bench rather than in the box by myself.
Hits – 100, my hits have bounced around a fair amount each season with last season being my lowest so I don’t have very high hopes for my hits total this season.
Shots Blocked – 185, I have only hit over 175 once in my career and I am hoping that with only 3 defenders that I get a fair bit of time on the ice to block some shots.
Game Winning Goals – 5, I am hoping to set myself another personal best as my previous high is 4. Hopefully with my heightened scoring will help my game winners
Powerplay Goals – 10, Usually I end up around the 10 mark and I think this season won’t change too much. Hopefully I hit this number.
Shorthanded Goals – 1, I have never scored a short handed goal in my whole career so I am hoping that I am going to get one eventually.

So that is my last season predictions let us see how I do in 72 games time.

Well damn, this season's team looks a lot different than last season's. I've mentioned it here and there, but making the decision to pull the trigger on a rebuild was pretty difficult - especially knowing that we could have kept all of our veterans and made one last push before we lost most of the team to retirement and FA. However, the organization has the opportunity to level set after 9 straight seasons of extremely strong performances - and 35 awards coming to the team and our players.

As we enter the S90's, like we did entering the S80's, it's time to feature a new generation of players who will lead us into the future. We've got a couple familiar faces left on the team, so we've got a nice mix of new and old players making up our leadership team.

    First Alternate - Nils Andersson - @Viper

Typically, I assign captaincy and alternates based on tenure with the team or overall experience in their careers. Viper and Andersson buck that trend, but for very good reason. For those unfamiliar with Viper, he's had a pretty lengthy history of inconsistency with players and a reputation of fizzling out early in his players' careers. When we drafted Andersson back in S88, Viper and I had some chats about how we'd approach this player and how we could keep him going, regardless of any obstacles in his way. Now entering his third VHL season, Viper is poised to have his highest TPE player ever, and has become a great voice to have in the LR and with our advisors. He's learned from mistakes in the past and has showed a lot of maturity since I first met him three years ago, and I'm very confident in giving him an 'A' here in Moscow.

    Second Alternate - Babay Shrimp - @Blazzer

A new face to the team, but a player and user who have already settled into the locker room quite comfortably. There was no shortage of suitors for Babay Shrimp this offseason, and despite Moscow's status as a rebuilding team, Blazzer was more than happy to join us for at least a season and be part of our organization and contribute to our culture. A veteran player who will be able to guide the young forwards on our team, we expect big things from Shrimp on and off the ice this season!

    Captain - Hammar Voss - @BOOM

A long time alternate captain for four seasons now, Hammar Voss takes a step beyond simply being the best defenseman in the VHL, to becoming the Moscow captain. I suppose we're buying into the meme here that Moscow captains always end up off the team the following season since Voss is retiring after this season, but it might have been the easiest captain decision I've made as a GM. Boom is involved in our LR in all aspects, whether it's providing our players with gorgeous sigs, helping to guide our team plans, posting boobs or just chatting with folks, he's been one of my favorite acquisitions to the team outside the draft. I hope we can send a future HOFer off with a great final season!

Congrats to all named to the leadership team!

    3. Spartan used to have podcasts that were fun to listen to. kelvi makes interesting sigs. Some guy named BOOM seems to be a very popular creator. I am kind of a fanboy of that guy.
    4. I have no idea who is in that draft. Are they still going to have drafts in two seasons?
    5. Should be a good building season with sporadic runs of good and bad luck.
    6. I think Manjo flavored chips would be his go to chip flavor.
