    After recently being exposed by @lidzI thought we could share a story about him. It was during the most recent Scrabble Grapple brand retreat in Sydney, Australia. Poopy Peepants @JardyB10was sitting in a restaurant when suddenly a group of people came up to us and recognized Chiang and Poopy. Unfortunately Blue being the young player he was wasn't recognized. So Chiang and Poopy sign some autographs when suddenly we hear Blue say, "You know I play hockey too?" Everyone looks over to him as he had gotten into the bus and gotten his stick and a puck. Now if you know Blue you know that he hit the puck hard and he thought it would be a great idea to shoot the puck into a wooden barrel underneath the TV on the wall. When he shot the puck though his sticks toe got stuck on a nail and his shot went wide. We watched with horror as the puck bounced off the TV towards the owner of the restaurant's prize vase. This vase was 800 years old and we watched the puck fly towards the air towards it. The vase shattered into hundreds of pieces and Blue was struck with fear. The owner comes out and behind yelling. Blue was banned from the restaurant and now has to pay $8.9 million to the owner to replace the vase.

    Blue was taken in the VHLM draft at 36th overall--the lowest he's been drafted across all three leagues. The Miami Marauders were the only of 10 VHLM teams to take a chance on him. Across his first, and now second, season with the Marauders, Blue has made memories that will last a lifetime.

         "It was my first away game in the M, we took the victory and I had a solid night, picking up an assist. We got back to the hotel, and I did what every player on the team did that night; I went straight to sleep. I was awoken at around 2 A.M. from a bloodcurdling scream. It was probably the highest pitched noise I've ever heard, and I immediately sat up, terrified, unbeknownst to what just happened. I knew the team were the only people on the entire floor, so I panicked and ran to where I heard it from. There were a few other people there, so I asked them where it came from. I think that it was Molotov who told me that it came from Nurx's room. We decided as a group, consisting of me, Molotov, Smith Jr., and Canders that we would bust into the room to see what was going on. I figuratively kicked open the door, to reveal Nurx and Ledge, cuddled up together watching a movie. We peeked around the corner, trying our hardest not to laugh, until we saw what movie they were watching. The terrifying, bloodcurdling scream came from the managers watching Up! They were both crying and we collectively lost it--and realized that the scream came from them crying."

        Lidz innocently strolls into his house after a lengthy day at school. It's exam season, and with little homework to do, he decides to boot up his computer. With a satisfying click, the beast roars to life.

       "It's Monday, I better do my point tasks for this week so Spartan doesn't hold my cat hostage again.", he thinks.

       He moves the cursor down to the taskbar of his monitor until he hovers over "Google". Lidz already has the VHL forum on his new tab screen--it's become a way of life. He clicks on it and claims his first few TPE points for the week. His media task is nearly complete, and the Rome presser takes only a few minutes. After he did his VHL.com article and clicked "Practice Facility", it was time to slay the final beast.

       Trivia roves underneath the "League" tab in the portal. Its bewildering riddles can stump even the brightest of those who dare to take it on. As lidz lowers his finger to click on "Get Trivia Question" he instantly regrets it.

       "Why couldn't I have done recaps or even just reviews?". Lidz realizes he made a mistake.

       There's no turning back now. The question already graced lidz's eyes. A tricky one, but nothing a brief look at the old indexes can't solve. Lidz quickly uncovered the stats he needed and had the correct answer.

    "Easy enough.", lidz thought, unaware of what would come next.

    As the glare from the monitor reaches his eyes, his mood suddenly plunges. The blood in his body rushes to his feet.

       "What?". This simple exclamation displayed lidz's exact emotions at that moment; pure confusion, pain, and hatred for whoever made that question.

         He did not know where to find this. The question was straightforward, yet vague enough that it would be difficult to locate it in the index. He searched and searched for what seemed like hours, only to discover no clues for the answer. With sweat dripping from his forehead, he realizes he is going to miss out on one capped TPE.

         "N-no... this can't be!". Lidz slams his fist down onto his desk, while tears form around his eyes. "I can't be a measly eleven-capped earner! What's Spartan going to do to me?".

         The thought of Spartan invigorated lidz to work harder. He continued his examination on the forums, but he still couldn't uncover any information on the topic.

         "Oh man, my career is over! That one TPE is going to haunt me 3 seasons down the line when depreciation sets in...".

         He accepts his destiny.

         Lidz goes to click on an answer. He thinks it could be a miracle--a cinderella story of sorts. But, miracles only happen to other people. Lidz realized this as his monitor displayed a red box on the screen.

    Sergey’s New Young Athlete Program is Now Underway!

    Moscow - This week was an eventful week for Moscow’s Sergey Preobrazhensky. As the VHL Season became more hectic and his dreams of leading the youth athletes of Russia all came to fruition in just a week.

     If you hadn’t known already, Sergey came up with an idea back in the offseason to fund and create a young athlete program. For up and coming players that want to continue their hockey dreams into not only the VHL, but other hockey leagues around the globe.

    Having already set up a team under his new franchise just today, Sergey hopes to expand to branch out, making more teams in the near future. Sergey was quite uplifted and relieved to see the unexpected turnout of players trying to make the team. “It’s amazing seeing all the teens going out there to show their skills hoping to make it. Having just one team is not enough for the level of talent we have seen!” Sergey mentioned jokingly.

    Sergey can’t just run such a big project on his own though, he’s contacted many former coaches and friends of his to get in on the action. “We’ll be bringing in some of the greatest hockey minds in the country, several of whom have played in some of the highest levels of hockey. I really do hope that the young guys absorb and learn from the people we’ve brought to help the cause,”

    The franchise has already caught some major traction amongst European Teams. Sergey has already signed plans on the team traveling across Europe for showcase games. While playing in one of the most prestigious European Leagues out there for the regular season. Giving them more of a chance for them to get scouted by professional teams. Both practice and scrimmage games have already been underway for his team. While players can expect to see regular season games to be played in a week or two. “Both players and management look forward to seeing what this plan can do to the landscape of amateur and developmental hockey in the area,” Sergey said in an interview with the press.

    Sergey has been seeing overwhelming praise all over social media. Even receiving donations from others to continue to cover the costs of such an expensive plan. “I would like to take the time to thank everyone who made this dream come true for me. It’s been a plan of mine for many years, and I finally get to see it all unravel beneath my eyes,” Sergey voiced in a heartfelt statement.

    It has been an unprecedented week for Sergey and the youth of hockey. One of the most ambitious hockey projects has just been undertaken by the young Preobrazhensky. Although a ton of money has been dropped just to make accommodations for such a major franchise. Sergey hopes this all pays off in the long run as an investment for not only himself, but for the players now representing his new amateur team.

    Top VHL Draft Prospects | Defensemen

       With the off-season finally coming to a close, and a new chapter of the VHL ready to be written, it's important not to overlook the future of our league. The top prospects for the draft should be paid attention to just as much as the VHL's superstars. I've compiled a list from my research on each player; weeding out the good from the great, and I've ended up with what I believe will be the cream of the crop for this season's draft.

       Overall, defensemen aren't the most abundant position in the draft. This could of course change, with many prospects currently holding out on the "M" for their various other ventures; presumably other hockey league's playoffs. But, for now, this position holds quality over quantity. With many teams in need of rock-solid defensemen for the future, we could be seeing some of these names called high up on the draft board in a few months.

    AK92 Wit da Hoodie
    @hedgehog337

       In their 26 games last season (15 regular season, 11 playoffs), Hoodie showed incredible promise, racking up 44 blocked shots, 36 hits, and 24 points. This offseason, Hoodie has simply been putting his head down and working. The work paid off as in this pre-season Hoodie looks much more sound on their skates, seemingly gliding across the ice at times. One thing that's impressed me about their play is their ability to quickly work the counter-attack, leaving many teams flat-footed trying to defend. Hoodie can get the puck moving quickly but doesn't have the touch to consistently score yet. On defense, Hoodie has matured. They seem calmer, but can be guilty of relying on their skating ability to put them into positions they already should have. I think Hoodie has the most potential out of all of the defenseman prospects, but they don't have the "hockey skills" to make them legit yet. I could easily see Hoodie going in the first round, and pushing onto a VHLE roster in S84.

    Malum Maellard
    @frescoelmo

      The 8th overall pick in the VHLM draft this year, Malum Maellard, spent the late parts of last season with Houston, where he played 16 regular-season games and 19 post-season games. In that time, he was quiet, mostly thanks to the limited ice-time he got while on the Bulls. He showed potential, though, as a defensive-defenseman, something becoming rarer and rarer in this current era of simulated hockey. That on its own should give Maellard some extra looks when the GMs are scouting, but nothing can beat Maellard's silky smooth puck skills paired with his impressive skating ability. When he has had the puck on his stick this pre-season, Maellard has looked like a veteran. His consistent training regiment proved to be great to help out those two things, but his positioning and poise on defense haven't seemed to improve much. Time will only tell how Maellard's off-season has paid off, and we have only seen a short sample of what he can do. Maellard should be another first-rounder, alongside AK92 Wit da Hoodie, and it will be interesting to see how this dying breed of defensemen can hold in the modern VHL.

    Jimmy MacElroy
    @Xflexz

       MacElroy was a pretty late pick in the "M" draft, going 24th, and while it may seem like a stranger pick than the other two, let me explain. MacElroy has seemingly relit the flame for hockey since being drafted to the sin city, putting in many late nights at the Aces facilities, where he has been working on his defensive game. His incredibly short stint at Miami last season showed us how he can impact a team, and I'm convinced he can. He displayed his defensive prowess, stopping 14 shots, and leveling 9 victims in his 6 playoff games for the Marauders. All of this leads to my eyes being attached to his jersey in the pre-season. He's a player that knows his role on the team and executes it to the fullest of his abilities. He's always in the right spot to make the smart play but can't be the X-Factor on the team just yet. When he tries to lead the counter-attack, it's functional yet uninspiring. He needs to work on his puck skills a bit more if he wants to steal a spot in the first round, and he has plenty of time to do that.

    Faith Hope Love
    @MMFLEX

       I'm back to the earlier parts of the draft for the final prospect, Faith Hope Love. Love played in 14 games for the Lynx last season, including 4 playoff games where they put together a dreadful stat line. Headlined by 16 hits and 5 points, they needed to train in the offseason. That's exactly what Love did. Over the offseason they exploded (not literally...) into a top defenseman prospect. They quickly knew the work they had been putting in was worthwhile when San Diego came calling with the 7th pick of the draft. I was able to catch a pre-season game of Love's, where I noticed a few great things about them. Their defensive ability, paired with their solid skating, created a monster. They were always in the right spot, and even when there was a mental error, Love was able to quickly react to that and get to where they needed to go with their skating. Their ability to man the counter-attack was all right, the puck skills are not terrible, but they aren't the bright spot of Love. Love is going to be a great 2-way defenseman in the future for any team that picks them, and I hope that they continue their growth throughout the season.

      In all, every player listed here has the talent to make it to the show, it's just a matter of the work they put in. I doubt that all 4 of these prospects end up becoming stars in the VHL, but these are the faces of this draft class for this position. One day MacElroy, Love, Maellard, and Hoodie will all be playing at a VHL level, while the next versions of them grind it out in the VHLM.

    After playing 10 games in the E, I would like to discuss how my player has acclimated to the E, and what his goals are. Justin had a solid pre-season, putting up multiple goals and assists up in a few games. This lead him going into the new season with confidence, and it has shown. In 10 games played, Justin had put up 8 points (5 G, 3A). He is currently 5th in the league in goals scored and 2nd in the league for shots taken (68). Despite Rome being in last place there are a couple of bright spots thus far. The goaltending and defense has been better than people predicted and the forwards are producing. After a good start, Justin is looking to grow his game even more and become the star people think he can be. He wants to keep up the goal scoring, but also tally assists. Hopefully if his points keep generating he can see more and more playing time on his team. The future is bright.

    @hedgehog337

    @frescoelmo

    @Xflexz

    @MMFLEX

    Molly the Cat has yet to play a regular season game with the San Diego Marlins but as the Lead North American Scout – North Eastern Region, I had the opportunity to watch, a number of, Molly the Cat’s University Games. During my time watching Molly the cat I was impressed with their work ethic in trying to improve in addition to their skills.

    Specifically, Molly the Cat has 4 main strengths that we believe will benefit the San Diego marlins, these being net presence, scoring touch, defensive responsibility, and hockey sense. Molly the Cat has a strong physical presence in the offensive zone. You will normally find Molly the Cat stationed in front of the net, screening the goalie or looking for a puck tip. Defenders have an issue trying to move Molly the Cat, meaning that Molly the Cat draws a lot of penalties from the opposing defense. Molly the Cat gets most of their scoring from being stationed just outside the blue paint. Tips and scrambled rebounds will be where Molly the Cat gets most of their tallies. One of the things I noted in my scouting of Molly the Cat is that they push to be involved in every defensive play while the are on the ice. Whether it is digging in the corner to retrieve the puck or supporting the defensemen by making sure they get back to cover the trailing opponents, Molly the Cat keeps a balance of offense and defense in mind. Lastly Molly the Cat has a great hockey sense, they seem to have their head on a swivel and can see everything going on. Whether it is knowing where the shot is coming from or knowing where to put their stick to block an opponent’s pass, Molly the Cat sees what is going on like few others.

    Although Molly the Cat has some good strengths there are a few areas that we are working with Molly the Cat on. Although Molly the Cat is an average skater, we are encouraging Moly the Cat to work on their skating skills, specifically top speed and endurance. If Molly the Cat wants to have a long career in the VHL they will need to learn to keep up with the top players in the league. As such we have Molly the Cat working with our skating coach and doing drills over and above the normal practices. We expect that if Molly the Cat puts in the extra effort we will see improvement occur quickly.

    Secondly, we are working with Molly the Cat on stick handling skills. Molly can handle the puck effectively but putting extra effort into this skill will allow Molly the Cat to excel even more in front of the net. Handling the puck in small confined spaces and either putting it into the net or dishing it to available teammates will make Molly the Cat even more valuable. Molly is working on a number of skill exercises with the team practices to help work on this. We expect to see great improvement over the year.

    As noted Molly the cat is a great pickup and we expect to see significant development over the year.
