Okay that's what I figured, I wasn't sure how much carryover things have changed. I needed a name that I equally wanted to keep expectations low, but also would be worthy of being in the HOF on the off chance I ended up sticking around and being good. And I just found out Dragon McDragon had a 100 point season with 200 TPE so it seems realistic.

Shoot, I wish I would have noticed this earlier! As a S78 player, I'm pretty sure you would have been able to do a PT for Theme Week. Unless you mean that as a new member you're unsure what you could have done the PT on. Admittedly that can be difficult.

I mean, Greg was still 1000+ TPE, Sandro got kind of close. Either way, the best counter to Simon T RNG is manifest destiny and lots of HYPE

I hyped potential Cleganebowls our whole career, I was pretty jazzed how the stars aligned to actually make that happen. I can’t say that I would have left earlier without it (you underestimate exactly how long I was running on fumes!), but I will admit it was one of the more invigorating playoffs I’ve had since the OG Jardy

Very late to the party, but I listened to this the other day at work and forgot to comment when I got home, but I enjoyed it! - Since returning it seems like bustling rosters has been the hottest button issue of the league. It's certainly not the WORST problem to have, but I'd love to hear your thoughts/ideas on how to deal with an ever expanding league. - Honestly, even if the rest of the podcast was garbage, it was worth tuning in for the Ralph Wiggum impression alone. - Speaking of the rest of the podcast NOT being garbage, I really enjoyed hearing the process behind Emi's player creation! The trope of putting shades of yourself into roleplay characters is something I always find fun and interesting (it's a common practice in Dungeons and Dragons as well) - It's too bad to hear about waning interest, though it is an inevitable feeling (I disappeared three years ago, after all). Since returning I've been loving seeing and meeting all the new members and the content they've been producing for the league. I hope to see/hear more from the both of you!

This is a fun concept! My one critique would be your con about expansion, saying that more teams would lead to NHL length Cup droughts. I agree that that could be a potential issue, more and more league members could go their whole career without seeing a Championship. But unless I’m bad at reading, splitting into two leagues and then playing in a Memorial Cup style tournament doesn’t actually solve that? It’s still 24 teams competing for the same prize. If we wanted to address that issue specifically while sticking with the theme of this alternate reality, maybe have the two leagues play for their own Championship. Then, to make things interesting, perhaps every 2-4 seasons, there could be a Mega Tourney after the playoffs, where 4-8 of the best teams face off for a new elite trophy. Or perhaps even do 4 leagues with their own championship? And every two seasons the 4-8 winners of the last two seasons face off in a mega tourney, with repeat champions getting byes in the first round. I can think of heaps of problems with my suggestions, haha. It was a fun thought experiment all the same, thanks for the article!

There's definitely some pros and cons to each move (@diamond_ace gets shots twice in this article by being both fired as GM and having Prague relocated to a non-traditional market, you're absolutely merciless!), but they're all fun to discuss and consider all the same. I know at least on the theoretical/mechanical side of things, Passing and Defence contribute to the “pass, shoot, or carry” logic of each player, with Defence being the secondary contributor. So I can see how boosting Defence, and getting a more minor bump to the pass logic while still reaping whatever technical benefits one gets from Defence would be quite helpful.
