  1. Shitballs!
  2. A 60 minute game, how boring
  3. Ten players had over 90 minutes this game, with Vinny Lecavalier @Spartakiller2 leading with 95:51. He also took 132 faceoffs
  4. Oh my fuck, give @Matt thunder a raise for this one. And the Oslo penalty killers too, I suppose.
  5. lol ur such a loser To be less serious for a moment though, it's been a pleasure to have shared a random online community with you all these years. Your dedication is unmatched and probably unhealthy, and we love you and all others who have supported this community throughout the years.
  6. I've reflected on escapism in general a fair bit lately. Partially because my partner's primary hobbies are generally more "productive" or "valuable" than mine. She likes to do art (drawing and a little bit of music) and gardening and hiking/walking/running. I conversely have spent periods of my life watching sports or tv shows or gaming (though I do like physical activities, I just don't prioritize them the same way). There is a bit of a dissonance when I see her hobbies yield tangible results (a beautiful drawing, a physically healthier life) while mine really don't, though we participate in our respective hobbies for the exact same reasons. Professional sports, video games, movies, entertainment in general - are all such dominant industries in our world. I'd argue that escapism and/or distraction is the #1 produced thing in the world, or at the very least must be one of the most economically driving "industries" in the world. Which feels kind of wrong given that the world in general could probably use more care and attention than ever before. Though as I say that, it's also not healthy to individually reflect too much on the state of the world, given that we're not overly empowered or incentivized to do much to change it. For its part, I think the VHL is a pretty swell hobby, as at the very least it really does facilitate creation, not to mention socialization. Ultimately, regardless of how "useful" or "productive" the things we choose to engage with are, I think the main consideration should be if those things are bringing some kind of joy or fulfillment to our lives. Given that we are somewhat at the mercy of the world around us (in fact, I'd say that life is as "entirely rooted in randomly generated statistics" as you can get), the best we can do is make the journey feel as worthwhile as we can! Anyway, this was my own pseudo-related deep thought rant.

  8. Express Press Conference Answering three questions gets you 1 Capped TPE Answering six questions gets you 2 Capped TPE 1. The Vasteras v Geneva ended rather quickly. Were you expecting that outcome? Somewhat, yes. I hoped Vasteras would put up more of a fight, but naturally they did not. 2. Game 1 is in the books. A hard-fought 3-2 victory, what are you expecting from this series against Geneva? I expect that we will defeat them in five games. We'll win the first three, lose one, then finish them off in Game 5. 3. What's the key to winning the Renaissance Cup? We'll have to stay out of the penalty box and make the most of our opportunities to win. Losing close games will be devastating at this point. 4. If you were betting, who would you say will be crowned the VHL champion? I think this will finally be the season the Wranglers are back on top! 5. If you were betting, who would you say will be crowned the VHLM champion? Mexico City have been the favourites all season, no reason to think they'll lose now! 6. Many GM positions are opening in the VHL world. Will you apply to any of them? No, I think my time as General Manager of any league is past.

  13. Not quite that fancy, the material is for building roads, and I heat to remove all the moisture and find out what the % of moisture in the material is, i.e. the water weight. Road construction is by far the least elegant construction, haha. It’s metaphorically a guy with one closed sticking his thumb out in front of him and declaring a straight line.
  14. It definitely sounds like code for smoking crack, now that I think about it. Which also sounds fun, but specifically he’s referring to a podcast of mine where I was literally frying/drying rocks over a stove element as part of doing sieves/gathering samples to figure out if crushed material was the proper spec.
  15. It would be pretty cool if you moved to SK to fry rocks with me
  16. ExCUSE me, Geneva! Stop delaying the inevitable!

  23. You can do it Vasteras!
  24. You right, I forgot the E does a wildcard now. Even better then, hopefully they beat Geneva so I can personally hand them a platter of their own incompetence as a city and franchise!
