Keiji Toriyama has had an average VHL career, spending time on several different teams despite never hitting free agency. His trade history rivals that of Tuvia Bielski, and often times teams have been criticized as having given up too much to acquire the Japanese center. He has currently found a home with the Vasteras Iron Eagles, who look to overcome a troubled franchise history and bring the club a third Continental Cup.
Toriyama had the best season of his career last year, leading Vasteras in goals and assists, finishing with 110 points. This season, his performance has dropped in all regards, offensive and defensive. Toriyama's abilities declined this season, and with his negligence toward retaining his skills, the Iron Eagles have not been able to count on his as they have in the past.
Recently, Toriyama has been distracted with a new hobby, as well. He has become very fond of arcade games. He spends several hours a day, every day, at a new arcade. Earlier today, he played a game of Pac-Man for the first time, and although he failed miserably his first time playing, he was heard saying "that was so much fun; I'm going to try again!"
