  1. I didn't draft myself higher than Devise did.
  2. I gave a value of 31 (37 for the six team group) for each instance of being undrafted.
  3. Well, you are a good player on a team with no other defenseman and only a few forwards.
  4. Shouldn't be a surprise at all. Just look at the rosters and it's pretty easy to see why.
  5. Early Rookie of the Year Candidates Last season the vote for Top Rookie was very easy thanks to a very strong season by Max von Hohenzollern. This season, while we do have a similar Cologne forward shaping up, it will likely end up being a bit closer of a race. Of course, we are just a quarter of the way through the season, so we could see a greater separation, but if things continue as they are, I think the voters will have a little bit more to think about this time around. Here are some of the players who I think either right now or by the end of the season will be in consideration. Alexander Thrower, Cologne Express @gregreg Thrower is the aforementioned Express forward who may be this season's MvH. Through 19 games, he is leading rookies with 14 goals and 28 points. This is five goals and eight points higher than the next rookies in each category. He is a more complete player than Hohenzollern, adding in some hits and shots blocked to his stats, as well as a decent face-off percentage. Like the Express from last season, this team in is allowing its forwards to thrive more than you might expect. AK47 and Joel Jarvi take the place of John Sleeman and Niels Skovgaard, giving Thrower a similar pair of forwards to feed off of similar to what Hohenzollern had. He also has MvH back this season doing quite well again. I would say that Thrower is the early favorite for the Stolzy, but there is some competition. Daryl Dortch, Helsinki Titans @evrydayimbyfuglien Helsinki is full of good rookies, particularly in the forward department, but Daryl Dortch is the one who I see as having the most potential as far as the Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy is concerned. Although teammates Sami Zayn and Franchise Cornerstone have more points, Dortch is a strong power forward. He is second among rookies with nine goals, which puts him second on Helsinki. He leads all rookies with 81 hits and is sixth overall, which is what I feel separates him from several other rookies. Cornerstone may have a +10 rating, but Dortch is left to carry the second line for the Titans, making his rating suffer. He has one of the best power forwards in the VHL, Theo Axelsson, to learn from, giving me high hopes for Dortch throughout the rest of the season and his career. Astrid Moon, Helsinki Titans @BMax It pains me to have to put a goalie who isn't me on this list, but simply put, Astrid Moon is having a better season. Truthfully, I was a bit surprised when I looked at his stats and saw he has just a 0.911 save percentage. While I know he struggled at times, I think I'm a little biased toward him given the success he has had against New York. He has played so well against the Americans, a team which should theoretically be scoring a lot of goals against a rookie goalie. I think his stats right now may not suggest that he is in the same league as some of these other rookies, but I only expect things to get better for him as the season goes on. If nothing else, being the best rookie goalie should give voters at least a slight pause in their thought process.
  6. Really I was just hoping for more shots blocked.
  7. It looks like Cologne once again is the team that is producing the top fantasy forwards. Last season we saw John Sleeman, Niels Skovgaard, and Max von Hohenzollern on the top or near the top of the fantasy charts. This season, AK47 is the current leader (95.4 FP to Pietro Maximoff's 81.4 in second). Joel Jarvi is 4th, Hohenzollern is 12th, and Alexander Thrower is 13th. None of these players were drafted highly on average, with Hohenzollern's 24.9 ADP being the highest of the trio. AK47 went undrafted in three drafts; Jarvi went undrafted in two drafts; and Hohenzollern went undrafted in four drafts (his average was brought up by a 13th and a 14th overall selection). Thrower was only picked in one draft and has the second lowest ADP at 31.6 In other news, there were a total of 15 players who were selected in every draft. Two are goalies, five are defensemen, and eight are forwards. Asher Donovan, the fifth highest scoring player, was only picked in one draft, and that was at pick 36 in the only six team draft. Felipe Rodriguez, the 9th highest scoring player, was undrafted in four drafts. Four drafts had a unique pick. In other words, four drafts had at least one player picked that was not picked in any other draft. As you'd expect, the six team group is one of them, with three players being unique to that group. Group G has two unique picks, Xander Finn and William Covington, both selected by Jericho. Groups C and H both have unique picks, but theirs are working out better than Jericho's; those players were Alexander Thrower and Ted Doughty. enough words. for mist4ke
  8. stats through 19 VHL games Here are some players who were drafted pretty highly but apparently should not have been: Unassisted, the highest average pick, ranks 18th in fantasy points Shawn Muller, the third highest average pick, ranks 32nd in fantasy points Jakab Holik, the seventh highest average pick (first among goalies), ranks 33rd in fantasy points (seventh among goalies) Lee King Snatch, the fifth highest average defenseman pick, ranks 27th out of the 30 defensemen A little more on defensemen.. the 4th best in fantasy points is Shaka. David Hamilton is fifth. Neither of these two were drafted at all, which shouldn't really come as a surprise (though Hamilton wouldn't necessarily have been an unimaginable pick later on in a draft). Fabio Jokinen ranks third overall and is the number one defenseman, which should not really be a surprise to anyone. He's the only defensemen on a team that only has five skaters, so of course he's going to block a lot of shots. Jim Lahey was drafted 4th overall in the Group D draft, and 8th in Group G. Groups A and E left him undrafted. Travis Gowecny went undrafted in 7 of 9 drafts and was 8th overall in Group H. Tyson Kohler went top ten in 6 of 9 drafts (top 15 in two more), but went entirely undrafted in Group F. That's enough words. For Maxwell
  9. If I had a $666,666.67 for every 3-2 loss we have against Helsinki this season, I'd be a multi-millionaire.
  10. @Lunaro currently has highest scoring VHFL team despite being in the 6 team league

    1. JardyB10

      JardyB10

    2. Lunaro

      Lunaro

Yeah well Virtanen is probably the lowest scoring forward relative to minutes played lol

  11. the retired Arcturus Mengsk was taken in 3/9 VHFL drafts, as high as 17

  12. You helped the Rush win a cup in their first season, now come help them win a cup in what could be their final season. Yukon 2 gud
  13. TOR G has more fantasy points than M.T. Power.. just fyi

  14. Tom Lincoln at 29? Tyson Kohler undrafted? wtf is goin on here? Further research shows that Lincoln is currently 12th among forwards and Kohler is not Top 15, so this draft is actually probably most representative of where they would have gone in a perfect draft, though Lincoln still should've gone a little bit sooner.
  15. I voted for him when he was first eligible Peters > Glover
  16. gonna be getting $1700 tax return right around the time the Switch releases but I'll resist

For $299 it's worth it. For me on set, bringing that tablet with me and as long as i got wifi (which all sets do) I will have shit to do while we roll

  17. ya bby Glad we get to face these guys 16 times this season.
  18. Yukon offers $2 million. I feel guilty winning with a mostly inactive team so I need some more active players to help out
  19. I'd just like to go back to this statement and point out that there's a difference between two-way [forward] and power forward. Just because the VHL uses incorrect terminology doesn't mean you need to as well!
