STZ got a reaction from Kesler in VHLM GM Spot (Minot)
Well I'm not planning on ever becoming VHL GM, should I be replaced as VHLM GM?
These jobs should be filled with the intent to keep new members active by having active and helpful GM's. Yes, it can also be used for people to gain experience using STHS, but I don't think it should be the only prerequisite. For example; a guy like Kesler may never be a VHL GM, but I think he's being overlooked as a VHLM GM. I bet he'd be just as good, if not better than at least half of the VHLM GM's last season.
That's just my opinion..

STZ reacted to Mike in VHL Merchandise - Would You Buy It?
We should make swag for all teams that make the finals then the losing gear gets sent to Africa like they do for the NFL. I know somewhere in Africa there is a village where the Bills are 4 time super bowl champions and the patriots went 19-0.

Edition 170
Farewell From Miles Larsson
When I started writing Hometown Heroes, I promised myself I would never write about my own player, but instead bring attention to some of the best players in the league and some of the underappreciated players of the league. However, it is time I go back on that promise and write about my second player in the VHL, Miles Larsson. When I was drafted by the Riga Reign, fifth overall, in Season 28, the Reign were in a bit of a downward spiral. The Reign were my first ever VHL team when I joined the VHL way back in Season 19 with Kristian Carlsson. Carlsson, much like Larsson, was drafted in the first round, fifth overall by the Reign. However, Carlsson came into the Reign organization at a very different stage in their development. In Season 19, the Reign were in a heavy battle with the Davos Dynamo for supremacy in the European Conference, whereas in Season 28, the Reign were in the beginning of a rebuild that would last for several seasons. When Mike drafted me with the fifth overall pick in Season 28, I wanted to help out a team that I had grown to love over my time in the VHL. I played for Riga for about four seasons with Carlsson and really wanted to cement my mark in the franchise with Larsson. From Season 28 to Season 30, I was in a rebuild with the Riga Reign. We had not made the playoffs yet, but Mike had built up a pretty good squad with drafting and free agency. However, we lost franchise defenseman Alexander Valiq to Expansion, as he would become GM of the Quebec City Meute. Starting in Season 31, we would make the playoffs four consecutive seasons (losing to Davos in Season 31 and Helsinki in Season 34), the finals twice (losing to New York in Season 32) and winning the cup once (getting revenge on the same Americans in Season 33). Winning the cup in Riga was one of my greatest experiences in the league. It was the first cup since Season 16 for Riga, and my first Continental Cup as a player agent. While it would have been nice to win more than once with Riga, a team that put a lot of faith in me, naming Larsson the Captain five out of the seven seasons I was there, winning once and getting Mike, an extremely dedicated GM, a cup was really special. When Season 34 started, I thought Mike would enter a rebuild and my time in Riga would have been over. However, I am very happy that I was able to prolong my stay in Riga a touch longer and really cement myself in Riga’s history book. At the end of my career with Riga, I was extremely happy to be honoured with a Jersey retirement. While I likely won’t get into the Hall of Fame, I am happy with the way Larsson’s career went, two Continental Cups, top two in hits and my number retired. Special thanks to both the Quebec City Meute and Riga Reign for making it a great and memorable experience, now onto the next one. -
