Gonna be above the 200 TPE mark with my VHLM achievement points, and with a lighter schedule in the next semester I'll definitely have more PT time.

Deschamps taken out by trip to Mongolian Grill
Bern, Switzerland -- Brampton centre Maxime Deschamps is expected to be a game-time decision in the team's upcoming game against the Bern Royals as a result of food poisoning suffered from a trip to the Mongolian Grill prior to the team's departure overseas.
The 20-year-old confirmed reports that getting seafood in your stir-fry from the popular Japanese buffet-style restaurant is always a poor decision and not one you should consider anytime soon.
"People told me to be wary of the seafood but I decided to get some anyways. Obviously it wasn't the right play because I've been seeing what it looks like coming out the other direction," Deschamps said.
After being bed-ridden on Sunday, Deschamps did make the flight with the team but is expected to take a wait-and-see approach ahead of tomorrow night's game.
"I'm hoping to be in the lineup, that's the plan right now. I'll eat some normal food before now and then and hopefully things settle accordingly."

6th all time in goals for Bears right now. Won't catch Baldwin this season though, he's too far ahead.

Deschamps encouraged to stop hurting VHLM players, says 'F U'
Brampton, Ont. -- In the wake of several serious injuries inflicted on opposing players this season, Brampton Blades forward Maxime Deschamps has been politely asked by the league to stop injuring fellow players. Despite the politeness of the letter, seeing that it was penned by none other than former (?) VHL Commissioner JARDY, Deschamps politely responded by telling the washed up executive to **** off.
In his victory lap season with the Blades, Deschamps has become a physical force in the league, racking up a league-best 218 hits in only 51 games played. The fun doesn't end there, either, as Deschamps also leads the league with 103 minutes in penalties earned despite only five major penalties during the season.
Where does it stem from? Well you see Deschamps is far from a talent with the puck, and while his 49 points in 51 games might sound respectable, make no mistake that Deschamps' impact on the game has little to do with the offensive side of the game.
As the league moves into the stretch drive of the regular season, lord only knows how many innocent VHLM players will feel the wrath of this French beast.

Deschamps shaken by tragedy back home
Brampton, Ont. -- In the midst of a mediocre season thus far, hockey seems to be far from the front of mind for Maxime Deschamps right now in the wake of a slew of terrorist attacks on the French capital of Paris. Deschamps, a 20-year-old centre currently plying his trade in the VHLM, hails from the northern French city of Amiens - located less than two hours from the site of the deadly attacks.
Deschamps, who has no shortage of family and friends in the capital city says it's certainly something that puts some perspective into your life.
"In hockey it's such a day-to-day grind and for something like this to happen, you really take a step back and re-evaluate the bigger picture," Deschamps said. "While I didn't lose anyone I personally knew in the attacks, it still resonates with me that my country was attacked in such a manner. It definitely gives me an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach to know what's going on in the region. It's very sad, indeed."
Officials in Brampton have said they offered Deschamps an opportunity to return home on leave, an offer that was ultimately turned down by Deschamps who has elected to stay in the Toronto suburb with the team.
"It was very gracious of them to extend that offer to me as it's something I did initially ponder. After giving it some thought and speaking with my family, I feel like it's best for me to stay with the team and continue to contribute however I can," Deschamps said. "It's definitely given me some additional purpose over here as I continue my journey in professional hockey."
Through 24 games played, Deschamps has registered seven goals and 16 points while churning in a disappointing -13 rating.

A&W Bear Chronicles: Seattle A&W locations switch to Hines ketchup

A&W, SEATTLE, WASH. -- Jace Hines is good at hockey. How good you might ask?

GOOD ENOUGH TO GET EVERY A&W LOCATION IN SEATTLE TO SWITCH TO HINES KETCHUP BEFORE HE'S EVEN STEPPED ONTO A VHL ICE SURFACE.

Yes, we needed all caps to articulate just how impressive this feat is. The American hero has a team-high 25 goals with Moscow this season and with Seattle fans patiently awaiting his arrival, A&W locations have jumped the line by replacing that crappy Heinz ketchup with delicious and savory Hines ketchup, named solely in honour of the team's future star winger.

You won't find this crap at an A&W in Seattle anytime soon.

To his credit, Hines (the human, not his ketchup line) is taking the announcement in stride.

"It's really an honour to see the city of Seattle already embrace me like this despite playing overseas in Russia," Hines said. "Honestly, it just drives me that much more to get to the next level. I can't wait."

Sure, Jace. We know this is the greatest thing to ever happen to you, even if you want to pretend to the contrary.

Until next time, keep your fries greasy and your burgers hot.

A&W Bear Chronicles: The curious case of Arcturus Mengsk
    VHL.com Newswire

A&W, SEATTLE, WASH. -- Look at the individual leaders of the VHLM and you'll find an interesting name perched atop the leaderboard for assists, Arcturus Mengsk.

Before pondering whether or not that's an anomaly, you may first ask yourself, "who the hell would possibly name their child Arcturus?"

And that would be a very, very fair question.

But you see this Ukrainian giant is more than a bizarre name, he also happens to be one of the top up and coming young defenseman in the VHLM. Honing his craft in the heart of mid 20th Century communism, Mengsk has been a sheer force on the Red Wolves blueline this season with his 46 points being good enough for third on that leaderboard for defensemen.

But is Mensgk's case really all that curious? He has long been regarded as a two-way player with considerable upside. So should we be surprised to see him grace the leaderboard of several critical stat categories?

    No. No we shouldn't.

So why did we write this article?

That's a damn fine question. Go have a Grandpa burger and ponder it some more.
