BOOM 8,809
Just saying, the new Pylon Cam is awesome. Kansas City's Anthony Sherman is a fullback. And this is what fullbacks do. Jamaal Charles was involved in a skirmish right before halftime with Denver defensive players almost twice his size. Sherman did what he always does - protect his running back. This isn't macho or tough guy stuff. This is how different parts of a team work together. Andy Dalton. Born to be a Bengal... It's hard to tell when his helmet is on. San Diego QB Philip Rivers with that Uncle Rico throwing motion... Nothing beats the real thing though... Which leads to breaking news from Dallas... Sean Payton going all Bill Belichick with the sleeves.. The oh so rare but glorious "Eli Manning at full speed in the open field" shot... It's the NFL equivalent of.. Rookie offensive tackle Jake Fisher caught a beautiful 31 yard pass and rumbled down the sideline Sunday. Fisher is 6'6" and 306 pounds. That's a lot of inertia... Pope Francis is visiting the United States.. Not to be outdone, Dolphins coach Joe Philbin wore his hat too.. Who decided they needed to clarify "JAGUARS" in the end zone by adding "JACKSONVILLE"? God Bless Florida. Uniforms and gamesmanship fascinate me as well. And can we finally put to rest any of the naysayers doubting the Cowboys' Navy Jersey Curse... They got the win. But also.. and.. and.. and... Jerry Jones on Brandon Weeden.. "He's a thing of beauty on throwing a football. His passing motion and his arm, frankly, you won't see a more gifted passer, power, accuracy, the entire aspect of it." Ha! For Eagles fans, I know the guy in the "IN CHIP WE TRUST" shirt wants to believe it. I'm just not sure he does. Nor do the people around him... Maybe it's because 35 PLAYERS have more rushing yards this year than the Eagles have as a TEAM. Jesus. Buffalo fans were ready for New England... But New England was ready as well. Julian Edelman had this for Bills fans after his touchdown... Patriot fans were out in full force as well.. Rex Ryan's face at the post game press conference said all you need to know about how the rest of the game went... Tom Coughlin's another case where you don't need a lot of explantion. This is what it looks like when you blow the second game in a row with another game rolling towards your team Thursday night... Cam Newton. You're pretty ridiculous... Plus there's this... Speaking of Newton, I'll never get the "mocking your move" thing. I maybe see a new guy like Ryan Mallet doing the Super Man thing. Maybe. Mallet's a nobody at this level. But J.J. Watt? Nothing says, "I'm in your head" like you trying to do my move. Just seems so lame... Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick shaved Monday morning. This was his 6 o'clock shadow... I think my favorite part of Monday Night's game was the Civil War General stuff.. After the game, General Fitzpatrick had the last word... Jon Gruden explaining the "Bengal" look to Mike Tirico... That guy Julio Jones proving once again you can wear anything you want as long as you deliver on the field... Frank Gore will be receiving an envelope from the League Tuesday. Those socks might work at The U. But not at this level... The Colts went with a jumbo fullback Monday night adding 310 pound tackle David Parry. That's a big fullback... The game film on Sam Bradford was not pretty... Carlos Hyde's knees are made of rubber... Jameis Winston's Dad wins Shirt Of The Week... Finishing this week with a great story. It's so easy with the NFL to marvel at the athleticism and the drama of the game. Athletes are called "heroes" for reasons not much better than they have the talent to run fast or jump high or the compusure to throw a football accurately under pressure or spot a hole in the line and explode down the field. Warrick Dunn was one of those guys for years as a star running back for Florida State and then Tampa Bay and Atlanta. But I'd argue it's pictures like this that make him a hero... In news that will see very little attention, Dunn this week provided a new home to a single mom. This was the 139th home he's provided to a single parent. Dunn's mother was killed when he was 18 years old and through his Warrick Dunn Charities foundation, he pours his life into helping single parents and children. Good shit Warrick. Kendrick 4,741
Yeah Warrick Dunn has always been a hero. He once was so upset that he got no recognition because what he did off the field was so much more valuable than what he did on it. BOOM 8,809
Temperature at kickoff was 72 degrees Thursday night. And Kirk had the Handwarmer out... Steve Smith, you old bastard...you're ridiculous. When you have enough money to decorate your house however you like and your nickname is "Silverback" this is what you get. Good job Trent Williams.. Cause: Effect: Result: Tyler Eifert: Yes, the league does really hate you. Bears coach John Fox revealed the secret to winning Football... God Bless Packers Fans... Jon Gruden is always looking for more info. Here he checks Randall Cob's pulse in the bus while pretending to shake hands... I'd love to talk with this Green Bay fan and see where he's coming from. Oakland transplant? KISS fan? Mardi Gras guy? Cam is winning at every level... Love those Dolphins. Poor Guy. And is that Pete Carroll's sister sitting behind her? That's pretty cool. I hope Griffin gets a shot again in the league. Brandon Marshall said this was the worst play in NFL History... Easy Brandon. Forget NFL History. If the past is any indication of the future, that's probably not the worst play the Jets will make this season. After a Week 1 surprise, the 49ers seem to be returning to who we thought they were... Overheard at the White House this week... Oh those tricky Seahawks. The old "guy on the right fake catching the punt while the guy on the left actually fields the ball. Love this one... Another "I don't get mocking the other guy's move" thing from Monday. Jamaal Charles scored and did the Discount Double Check. Clearly, Rodgers was shaken... Just Warren Buffet rocking a Ndamukong Suh jersey. With shoulder pads. And as if 49er fans needed reminding... Bob Kraft and Brady kiss before games. Ok, I kind of get the grandfatherly peck on the cheek thing. I'm not as sure about the interlocking fingers... BOOM 8,809
Cleveland lost their game Sunday after jumping offsides and nullifying a missed field goal. Another reminder of the timeline for a Browns fan. First, they start with youtfhul enthusiasm and optimism... Then optimism of this sort... Then reality... Sunday night gave Saints fans the best possible outcome. Several of these Rob Ryan faces. But still a win.. What about that Khiry Robinson horse ride TD dance penalty for "using the ball as a prop". And that's different from this exactly how? I'm with Trump on this. I get the long hair is cool thing. But it's a bad idea for players who're regularly in the position of being tackled. Andre Ellington and Jason Babin from a couple of years ago... Matt Jones and Fletcher Cox gave us the latest example Sunday... Looking good has it's price. 13 is supposed to be an unlucky number. Here's a little Glitch In the Matrix action... ESPN News Flash: J.J. Watt works hard... Sorry. I know I sound old and grumpy on this. I just tire of ESPN telling me every five minutes how hard J.J. Watt works. I get it. It's the same thing marvelling over Peyton Manning studying film. Here's the deal. Lots and lots of great defensive linemen work really hard. And lots of great quarterbacks study film. It's kind of their job. Non Football Note Of The Week comes from 19 year old UFC fighter Sage Northcutt. He won his first fight and then celebrated with this... That's not quite Tag Team Terror freaky. But still pretty freaky. I'm going to say the Seahawks are happy to have Kam Chancellor back... Matt Stafford with the block. Or maybe not... Mario Williams is kind of ridiculous. Rashad Jennings weighs 230 pounds... Although.... Tyrann Mathieu is 5’9 and 185 pounds. Jared Cook is 6’5 and 255 pounds. Good thing for Cardinals fans that Mathieu has mad ball skills and can jump out of the gym. And Cook's primary skill is that he's 6’5 and 255 pounds... Apparently beer is now so expensive at Bills games, the fans are just doing coke.. I love Danny Woodhead. Mostly I love that he apparently puts his eye black on with his thumb and his eyes closed... scoop 3,447
12-team fantasy football roster, had the 3rd pick in the draft QB Ben Roethlisberger RB Jamaal Charles RB Justin Forsett WR Andre Johnson WR Nelson Agholor TE Delanie Walker FLEX Melvin Gordon D/ST Arizona K Dan Carpenter RB LeGarrette Blount RB Charles Sims WR Allen Robinson WR Roddy White WR Davante Adams I originally had Marcus Mariota but I dropped him for Davante Adams in response to the Jordy Nelson injury. Adds: QB Andy Dalton RB Knile Davis WR Jamison Crowder WR Tavon Austin TE Gary Barnidge K Robbie Gould Drops: RB Jamaal Charles WR Andre Johnson WR Nelson Agholor WR Roddy White TE Delanie Walker K Dan Carpenter I'm currently 5-1 unless Larry Donnell has a 40-point game this week. BOOM 8,809
A little late this week Touchdown... Not. A. Touchdown... I'm still with Ice Cube... Also, is anyone surprised Golden Tate would be involved in this play? Indianapolis fans are so thoughtful they rip Tom Brady...by making cookies.. I'm guessing neither Alex Rodriguez nor Jay Glazer are signing with any football teams soon. Rodriguez made a guest appearance on FOX's show Sunday. And it cost a little more than FOX bargained for... And every Mom across the country is telling their kids "That's why we don't throw balls IN THE HOUSE". Steelers QB Mike Vick left the game briefly with what the team called "dirt in his eye". Evidently that's how you say "Eyes glazed over after a knee to the helmet" in Pittsburgh. Seattle's a tough place to play. Especially when they get five downs... I was watching the Tennessee game and Marcus Mariota threw the ball eight feet over Kendall Wright's head into the back of the endzone. The announcer said, "That's on Mariota.". . In the "Past Performance Is Not An Indication Of Future Success" department, I give you Gary Barnidge... You think Ryan Fitzpatrick was excited to score? God Bless Lions Fans... I don't even know what to say about that. It's tough enough facing the Vikings defense. But Charcandrick West had to fight his own players... The search is over. I found Waldo. In Green Bay. Death, Taxes and Start The QB Facing Baltimore. Another "Things Move Fast" moment from J.J. Zachariason... Patrick Chung with the Mic Drop tweet of the week... If your team name is Cagney and Lacy... Not sure how many will get that one. BOOM 8,809
Here's something cool. Kansas City defensive back Eric Berry with his first* interception. * First as in first since he's back after recovering from Hodgkins lymphoma. Rock on, Eric Berry. Are you way more into Football than any other sport? Then this is for you... This Football Officiating is a tough business... Stefon Diggs. You're kind of ridiculous... Here's another difference between Baseball and Football. Football referees don't put up with a lot of "discussion". It's different in baseball... Seattle's Ricardo Lockette delivered a ridiculously late hit drawinng a dumb penalty. Kevin Pierre-Louis and Steven Terrell responded with the bow of shame.. I'm not saying Matt Ryan's a vampire. But I'm not going to any sleepovers at his house... Julian Edelman makes a lot of money. Julian Edelman earns a lot of money... Oh Cleveland... Who's ready for the NBA? Cam Newton's ready for the NBA... We all saw Greg Hardy knock the clip board out of the coaches hand on the sideline Sunday. It's Greg Hardy. If the sideline thing surprised you, you haven't been paying attention. Maybe this should be just as unsurprising, but the Cowboys bungling of this is bordering on comical. Starting from the top. Jerry Jones was asked about the incident. Reporter: "What was your take on Greg getting involved in the special teams huddle. Having a push and shove contest there?" Jerry Jones: “He’s of course, one of the real leaders on this team. And he earns it. He earns it with the respect from all of his teammates. And that’s the kind of thing that inspires. I don’t know if you watched him warm up out there but he was inspirational in his method of warming up”. I could comment, but the woman's face in this picture says it better... We're getting close to Halloween. And one Browns fan has turned his yard into a QB graveyard.. Poor bastards. BOOM 8,809
Who knew Luck was a Patriots fan? Here's a question. Did they charge full price for Bradford vs Cassel on Sunday? Jerry has the answer... Denver's Aqib Talib with the Three Stooges Eye Poke for Dwayne Allen... Talib after the game said he thought Allen was milking it. "From my angle, I see (Allen) head butt Von a little bit. I went over to poke his head, and I think my hand slipped and hit his face," Talib said "He acted like he got in an 18-passenger car wreck. I guess that's what type of guy he is." An "18 passenger car wreck"? Where does that come from? Here's the view from Allens helmet camera... Aaron would rather have an iPad.... So Cam Newton ripped down a Green Bay banner hanging in the Panthers stadium Sunday. "I was just shocked, shocked," said Mike Dobs, who spent $500 on the sign and had planned to hang it in his "man room." Newton had this to say: "It was a Green Bay banner in Bank of America Stadium," Newton said. "It just doesn't match. No disrespect to any Green Bay Packer there, it's just a respect thing. We take pride in having an edge in playing in front of the Carolinas each and every week. "It's something that I feel it's my due diligence to protect this house. ... You're not about to sell a Whopper at a McDonald's. That's the gist of the story." Couple of things. First off, $500 for that? Secondly, Panthers stadium policy is that "No banners or flags expressing support of visiting teams may be affixed to or displayed on any surface," per the team's official site. Third, Dobs said he reported the incident to the police inside the stadium and planned to press charges for theft. How good would it have been if the Stadium Police replied with... Lastly, don't say stuff on social media like this. Dobs' son in law, David Sessoms reportedly posted this on his Facebook page after the incident. Basically - don't be that Packer fan. Be this Packer fan... If this quarterback gig ever goes bad for Philip Rivers, he could be a drum major... I'm normally a big fan of the alternative Nike uniforms. But this "Color Rush" stuff just seems weak. How much creativity does it take to do a solid color? More like Power Rangers... Non-football funny shit..
