Well, this is unfortunate in one sense but I'm rather excited to start fresh in another sense.

Draper's career didn't go overly well and I didn't accomplish much, or most, of what I had hoped to. For the most part, I felt his performance didn't correlate with the amount of work I put into him and that's obviously frustrating, but that's just the way she goes. Having to cut his career so short is also regrettable. So from my players perspective, my first VHL career was disappointing.

From my perspective though, my first VHL career was great and I thank you all for being cool people.

I do owe specific shoutouts to my two GMs though, eaglesfan and STZ, who both played a big part in my career and have become some of my favorite chat mates. I should also give a shoutout to my colleague and recruiter, Higgins. That's pretty much all I have to say.

A short ballad I wrote, in honour of Don Draper. Rest in Peace, Don.

-----

I was a hockeyman
Along the ice roads I did skate
With stick and puck by my side
Many a young 10's lost her panties to my trade
Many a enemies shed his lifeblood on my blade
The bastards hung me in the season of forty-three
But I am still alive

I was a hockeyman
I was born upon the blueline
And with the rules I did abide
I sailed a team round the captaincy of Helsinki
I went aloft and didn't win the Continental Cup
And when my teammates broke off they said that I got killed
But I am living still

I was a hockeyman
Across the rink deep and wide
Where steel and frozen water did collide
A place called Hartwall Arena on the wild Finland
I slipped and fell into the trade deadline below
They buried me in that great Davos tomb that knows no sound
But I am still around
I'll always be around, and around and around and around and around...

I'll command a Titan
Across the VHL world divide
And when I reach the other side
I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can
Perhaps I may become a hockeyman again
Or I may simply be a single fragment of ice
But I will remain
And I'll be back again, and again and again and again and again...

Great Job with your first player, it's too bad he didn't live up to the amount of work you put in. He's more likely to probably break through these next two seasons, but obviously this is the right move for you.

Was a lot of fun playing alongside Draper, and I hope I get a chance with your new guy. Thanks for all the great seasons as Captain of the Titans and for being the guy I could always counsel and bounce ideas off of.
