Coming into the VHL, Marcel Faux had a ton of accolades from his seasons in the minor league system, VHLM. In S43 his Bern Royals team won the Founder's Cup, so his minors career got off to a great start winning that trophy right away. In S44, he won the Founder's Cup once again, this time with the Saskatoon Wild. He also took home the Mitch Higgins, Alex Chershenko, and Ethan Osbourne Trophies as the VHLM's MVP, Point Leader, and Goal Leader. Coming into the VHL, he quite simply had a lot under his name. In his first rookie season with the Helsinki Titans, who picked him at 3rd overall, he recorded 64 points in 72 games, including 29 goals. He was definitely not the most physical guy out there on the ice, with only 27 hits and 8 blocked shots, but that is not what Helsinki was asking from him. He had 6 game winners and was also a +45 on the season, which is pretty great for a rookie. Just like he did in the VHLM, he also went on to win the Continental Cup with the Helsinki Titans, getting 4 goals and 4 assists in 12 games, good for 8 points. The Titans took out both the HC Davos Dynamo and the Calgary Wranglers to win the cup. Now, currently in Season 46, in 36 games Marcel Faux has 28 points with 15 goals. It will be interesting to see if Marcel can keep up the same pace, or even better his point totals from last season. Helsinki is once again one of the top teams aiming for a repeat at the title.

Le'Sean Coutzen - 5th Overall

Now, next up in this article I want to talk about Le'Sean Coutzen. This player was drafted 5th overall by the Riga Reign in the S44 draft, and definitely has not lived up to the hype. In his drat season when playing in the VHLM with the Oslo Storm, he put up 64 points in 72 games with 19 goals. It was not clear what kind of production he would bring over the VHL. So, with that being said, on came his rookie campaign. In Season 45 as a rookie in the VHL with the Riga Reign, Le'Sean Coutzen had 2 goals and 11 assists, for a slim total of 13 points. He had 25 assists and 7 shots blocked. Surprisingly enough, with those low point totals, he was pretty decent defensively, with a  -3 on the season, which is good for a player who was not scoring so much. In the playoffs that season he put up 0 points in a 4 game effort. For the next season, he was brought over to the Quebec City Meute. This is the current season we are in, where so far he has 14 points in 36 games. In just 36 games he has beaten his previous point total, as well as tied his goal total with 2 at the moment. He has 22 hits and 19 shots blocked so far as well, which are decent numbers on a mediocre Quebec City squad. With only 36 games played, Le'Sean Coutzen is set to shatter his rookie point totals, and it will be interesting to follow him and see if his activity can pick up once again back to the commitment he used to put into the VHL.

Content I remember a few years ago when people would get docked for overly-repetitive MS topics. I'm glad those days are gone. I'm sure it's easy and much less stressful to just do the same piece time and again while, at the same time, focusing on different players so it's not really repetitive at all.

Grammar There were a couple weird points (like using the word 'rookie' in consecutive sentences), but nothing bad at all.

Appearance It worked for me.
