S73 Wranglers Player Stats Predictions

Jubis

Recommended Posts

Okay i have done two of these already. One for each of the past 2 seasons. It ends up being a fun media spot to put together during the off season. I am usually wrong so take these with a grain of salt.  Without stalling any longer i will begin my predictions. I will predict each Calgary Wranglers player, stats for the upcoming season 73.

SEASON 73 CALGARY WRANGLERS STATS PREDICTIONS

                            @Jubis RJ JUBIS , S69 , LW

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 38   A 55   PTS 93  +43  PIM 41

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 31   A 52   PTS 83  +18  PIM 58

RJ Jubis lead the Wranglers in points this past season. The departure of Sigard Gunnar and with Kris Rice moving to center, overall line chemistry is unknown. Jubis will be slated to play this season with Mikko Lahtinen. They were the two Wranglers who had the most chemistry together last season. Lahtinen has proved himself to be the true sniper on the team. If Jubis can pass him the puck more, the points will follow. The unknown element will be how well the two mesh with their new teammate Jaxon Walker. For this reason i have Jubis collecting 10 less points and 7 fewer goals.

                @Beketov MIKKO LAHTINEN , S70 , C

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 41   A 43   PTS 84   +41  PIM 161

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 46   A 31   PTS 77  +16  PIM 144

A breakout star in season 72, Lahtinen won the Dustin Funk Award for the leagues most improved player. He fell just short from leading the league in goals. With his lethal shot, i expect him to set a new career high in goals this season. I predict Lahtinen will score in the high 40's and maybe even eclipse the elusive 50 mark. He is a tough player who does not shy away from dropping the gloves. He will rack up his share of penalty minutes while laying the hurt to the victims of his choosing.

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 32   A 43   PTS 75   +16  PIM 49

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 28   A 61   PTS  89  +28  PIM 36

Kris Rice had a spectacular S72 season. He was able to produce over 30 goals and over one point per game. He will be moving from right wing to center this season. Rice is Calgary's best playmaker and with his move to center, I believe it will be on full display. Rice will start the season on a line with Willie Dredge and ACL Tear. I have a bold prediction of around 60 assists and he will lead the Wranglers in points.

                       @Speed WILLIE DREDGE , S68 , RW

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 30   A 42   PTS 72  +16  PIM 15

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 34   A 34   PTS 68  +32  PIM 24

Willie did well in S72,  hitting exactly both the 30 goal mark and the point per game mark. He will be given more ice time this season due to Gunnar leaving and Rice moving to center. Dredge should flourish in his larger role. I not only predict he hits 30 goals again but will set a new career high. The fact he averaged around 25 mins of ice time last season and only managed 15 PIM is a feat on its own.

        @Tagger EDWIN THE ENCARNACION , S70 ,  D

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 6    A 53   PTS 59  +26  PIM 58

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 11   A 56  PTS 67  +24  PIM 66

Edwin had a great S72, but even tho he is now over 900 tpa he was behind Paddywagon and Smiity W on the Wranglers depth chart. For season 73 he will be the number one guy that Calgary will rely on. He will play more minutes than any other player. Combine that with his rock solid skill and he will tease right around the 70 point mark this season.

                        @Quik ACL TEAR , S67 , RW

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 25   A 21   PTS 46   -1    PIM 59

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 32   A 29   PTS 61  +29  PIM 66

Tear's 25 goals and 200+ hits last season for Davos is nothing to scoff at. He has been a journeyman in his career so far. He has already played for 6 different teams in his first 6 seasons.  ACL Tear has been usually a great 2nd line scoring threat. Calgary plans to use him differently this season, where we will see him start the season on line 1. I am predicting career highs in goals and points. Right around 30 goals and 60 points

             @dasboot LATRELL MITCHELL , S72 , D

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 8   A 10   PTS 18  +25  PIM 129

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 12   A 31   PTS 43  +14  PIM 98

Calgary's S72 3rd overall pick an offensive Dman, was buried behind three high TPA defenseman last season. This season it will not be the case. Mitchell will receive a big increase in minutes and responsibility. If he can thrive in his new role, i predict 40 plus points in his sophomore season.

SEASON 72

GP 72   G 2   A 12   PTS 14  +24  PIM 60

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 7   A 31   PTS 38  +22  PIM 70

Calgary's 6th overall pick in S72 was also buried behind a stacked Wranglers D lineup. He is the more defensive player of the two picks. When comparing him and Mitchell.  I still predict a serious increase when it comes to points as his powerplay time and minutes increase this season. I predict great defensive numbers , 30 assists and around 40 points.

         @Mongoose87 KOSMO KRAMEREV , S73 ,  D

SEASON 72 VHLM (MIAMI)

GP 72   G 29   A 77   PTS 106  -28  PIM 84

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 5   A 24   PTS 29  +15  PIM 46

Calgary's newest addition to the team. Kramerev had a great VHLM season with Miami putting up over 100 points in S72.  This will only translate to the VHL so much. However with Kosmo's already visible solid work ethic, he will be destined to have a great rookie season. The rookie Kramerev will get plenty ice time and i predict a 30 point season is definitely within his grasp.

         @hewasajazzman JAXON WALKER , S68 , RW

SEASON 70

GP 72   G  5   A  5   PTS 10  -13  PIM 18

S73 PREDICTION

GP 72   G 11   A 31  PTS 42  +9  PIM 24

Jaxon Walker has not played a VHL game since season 70. If he can get himself in shape and game ready, he has an opportunity to contribute. He will be playing with Jubis and Lahtinen. All walker needs to do is make simple passes and be in the right place at the right time. If he can do this, i predict a 40 point season from the guy who has been on his couch the last two seasons.

    @SlapshotDragon  JACQUES LAFONTAINE , S70 , G

SEASON 72

GP 64   W45  L13  OTL6  0.924SV%  2.31GAA

S73 PREDICTION

GP 64   W42  L18  OTL4  0.921SV%  2.36GAA

Lafontaine won the award for lowest GAA in season 72.  I predict a slight dip in his wins and personal stats as the Wranglers roll out an offensive lineup. Lafontaine can still achieve the sought after 40 goalie wins. I predict him to do so.

Thats all folks,

GO WRANGLERS !!!

Review: Great job yet again. These are fun to read and you do an excellent job breakdown each players statistics, your prediction and the reasoning as to why you think they will end up with that point total. The structure is clean, the use of pictures makes the article stand out and grammatically it’s very well written. I am excited to see how close you come with your predictions Rating: 9/10
