Rookie seasons for multiple players in the S74 draft class, 17 to be exact. Some had a good start in there career and some did not. This is the top 12 players in this class. For now...

*Not taking into account about ice-time

1.  Venus Thightrap - C - 443 TPE (@BladeMaiden)
24 Goals | 34 Assists | 58 Points | 15 | 44 Penalty Minutes | 99 Hits | 15 Shots Blocked

Had to give er that #1 spot.  Rookie with the second most amount of goals and the forward with the most amount of assists. She's on top for points and has been playing great hockey for the Vancouver Wolves with her +15. She can throw the body around and will lay her body on the line to block a shot. All around good player with no flaws in his game and she's currently leading the Wolves all the way in the VHL finals in her very first season with the pro.

2. Lester Green - D - 376 TPE (@Smarch)
11 Goals | 37 Assists | 48 Points | 1  | 68 Penalty Minutes | 124 Hits | 172 Shots Blocked

I had a tough choice between Lester and Emi Rune. 11 goals for a rookie d-men is quite impressive and he held his own as a rookie with an expansion team. He is also way more physical than Emi Rune and blocked a lot of more shots in the defensive end of his zone. He will be a great Two Way D-men that can put the puck in the back of the net if his career progress nicely.

3. Emi Rune - D - 392 TPE (@Emi)
4 Goals | 50 Assists | 54 Points | 13 | 27 Penalty Minutes | 21 Hits | 119 Shots Blocked

We all love Emi. You already know she's a great person in the locker room without even knowhing her. She had a SOLID season with the Vancouver Wolves leading d-men in points and leading overall in assists. I did not check these players advanced stats, but I'm guessing she was amazing in the PP (Hopefully I'm right lol) and she's extremely well disciplined on the ice. This is something that she doesn't need if she wants too, but she could add some more weight during the off-season to add a physical game so that she could possibly compete for future hardwares. She's probably gonna have some couples in her career.

4. Tim Waters - D - 306 TPE (@Siddhus)
5 Goals | 44 Assists | 49 Points | 4 | 48 Penalty Minutes| 24 Hits | 159 Shots Blocked

Wow. A dude (If you are a girl, I'm sorry) in the back that is in the top 5? He came out of nowhere. Being a +4 for Warsaw is quite amazing if you think about it as a d-men. One of the 2 people that were not a minus for that team. Beside Dakota Lamb, the next person on that list is a -10. Not only did he had himself 44 points with the lowest TPE out of all of us. He did well defensively by getting 159 shots blocked for his team. Maybe this was a lucky year, who knows, but Warsaw got themselves a really sweet asset if he keeps on earning.

5. Doug Dimmadome - G - 410 TPE (@Esso2264)
25 Wins | 33 Lost | 6 OTL | 0.916% SV% | 3.22 GAA | 2 SO | 2458 Shot Against

Dougggg Dimmadomeee, Ownder of te Dimmsdale Dimmadomee.

It's hard to rank goalies, but I think he deserves to be in the top 5 with his stats. He's top 8 in save% which is amazing from a rookie goalie who started 64 games. Jacques Lafontaine (Possibly and shoule be the best goalie this year) had a 0.91% percentage in his first season with 64 games. Doug doing that in his rookie season already showcase what he could bring on the table in the near future. LA got themselves a real goalie, but his remaining years are already ticking while this team (Well I think) is still "rebuilding".

6. Aloe Dear - LW - 463 TPE (@Renomitsu )
28 Goals |  24 Assists | 52 Points | -11 | 52 Penalty Minutes | 52 Hits | 146 Hits | 37 Shots Blocked

The #1 overall pick in the S74 draft. She played (well I hope she did) alongside the ROTY Dakota Lamb who had 90 points. I thought Dear  had more points playing with him so I was shocked that she had 52 points. Although she fell short on being in the top 5, she did had 28 goals which is amazing for a rookie in this class. She has a strong two-way game too. In my opinion, this team does belongs to Dakota Lamb and I hope se can support this star forward very well, but she did say before the draft that he could leave the team that draft her once she can be a free agent. Only time will tell for what's going to happen.

7. Luke Thornton - LW - 462 TPE
16 Goals | 28 Assists | 44 Points | 6 | 70 Penalty Minutes | 187 Hits | 10 Shots Blocked

Got a shit ton of articles about myself. Read it yourselves.

Basically a pure playmaker that can somehow score some goals and had a very strong two way game with his 187 hits and a +6.

8. Julian Nousiainen - C - 371 (@okochastar)
24 Goals | 29 Assists | 53 Points | -20 | 49 Penalty Minutes | 74 Hits | 19 Shots Blocked

I wanted to rank him high, but damn that -20 hurts no matter what. People could say that the +/- is not that important on a bad team, but look at a player like Tim Waters or Venus. It's not an excuse. He is very talented tho hitting the 50 point mark in his rookie season and getting 24 goals. I can't come here and scream that he could become a franchise player, but I'm 100% sure that he's always going to be a consistent player which is good in the VHL.

9. Onde Sandstrom - RW - 435 TPE (@fonziGG)
14 Goals | 17 Assists | 31 Points | 16 | 96 Penalty Minutes | 176 Hits | 7 Shots Blocked

The Swedish men. I saw articles about him not being that really happy about himself, but he's glad that he's team is doing very good. I don't agree with you bitchhh. I think his season was very good on a deep talented team like the Wolves. Someone won't get the points, but he's laying his body on the line with his pysical plays and he's by far the best defensive forward in our class. Maybe he won't ever be productive on the Wolves because that team can be kept together for a lot of season, but he will make you feel pain on the ice and you will feel his presence each time he steps on the ice,

10. John LeClair II - LW - 374 TPE (@flyersfan1453)
15 Goals | 19 Assists | 34 Points | 9 | 88 Penalty Minutes | 259 Hits | 11 Shots Blocked

Never talked to him, but I always liked him for some reason lol. Decent season for Prague and the team should be really happy to have him. A very good asset and player to have on your team. He lead the forwards in hits and he has been playing very good defensively. Onde Sandstrom and him are basically the same, but he will have the chance to be productive on his team eventually.

11. Markus Schauer - D - 355 (@Plate)
12 Goals | 27 Assists | 39 Points | -13 | 14 Penalty Minutes | 25 Hits | 163 Shots Blocked

Dang one hour writing this and I'm super tried now. Markus Schauer. I loved NY when he picked him in the draft. I do not know why, but it just felt he was perfect to go there. He's gonna be a great Offensive D-men that can go up and down in there lineup and he will block a lot of shots to protect his goalie. I don't really have much to say, he should be a decent player for the first half of his career at least. He was the d-men with the most goals too. Compared to the other d-mens, his +/- was too far apart from them.

12. Lee Xin - RW - 362 TPE (@Blazzer )
16 Goals | 29 Assists | 45 Points | -27 | 83 Penalty Minutes | 103 Hits | 21 Shots Blocked

Finally. I'm almost done. I was almost close to put the great Banacock daughter in this spot instead of Lee Xin, but I can't ignore those 45 points compared to 31 points. I was harsh on other players for the +/-, but Lee Xin other stats are all better than Isabella Campbell

Honorable Mentions:

Christian Mingle - C - 445 TPE
11 Goals | 13 Assists | 24 Points | -34 | 49 Penalty Minutes | 86 Hits | 40 Shots Blocked

Welllll. I don't know what happened. His probably gonna have a big season next year though. Ain't got a choice to be honest.

Isabella Campbell - C - 396 TPE
15 Goals | 16 Assists | 31 Points | -12 | 4 Penalty Minutes | 24 Hits | 17 Shots Blocked

Playing on a very good team and I hear she was on the third line? She's just going to be better once she goes up the lineup

& and all the others who will hopefully have a better sophomore season, but I'm too tired to search there name because this took me almost 2 hours.

@Jtv123 gonna start by saying thanks for including me ? I’m also gonna just add that Venus Thightrap, Aloe Dear and Emi Rune are all female players lol. Other than that slight oversight this article is extremely well written and I liked your analysis, i can clearly see what it takes for a rookie to be valuable in you point of view. Overall this was thoughtful and fun. I hope to see more writing like this in the future because it adds so much to the vhl experience!

Thanks again and 9.5/10 for my review because I’m being pedantic about player genders ;) amazing job!!

correction 10/10 because you actually went back and corrected it! ?

I love the inclusion brotha. Brilliant article to read as well! I know I'll be back to full swing pretty soon offensively. Onde is bound to arrive!

I think you represented the S74 class very well and gave a good description for why each player belongs on the list.. One thing that I thought you maybe could have added would be a few images, it just makes the media spot look nicer in my opinion. Otherwise a bit of color would have sufficed. Overall rating 9/10
