Well here we are, another season has passed and I am already back delivering the Miami Marauder Team awards to the next batch of superstars to come across this locker room. We have some returning members and some new members and all of which are deserving of recognition to some degree. However we could only choose a select few to receive our annual team awards and each of the recipients are more than deserving. I will announce each winner and breakdown why I think they are deserving of their awards and I may even drop and honorable mention or two for players that deserve a special shoutout. So lets get to the first award the The Lebastard Memorial Trophy...

Lebastard Memorial Trophy

I like to start with this trophy as it spotlights the player who has shown true leadership throughout the season on and off the ice. It is a personal favorite of mine and I am happy to award this trophy to up and comer Nathan Perry. @tinafrombobsburgersPerry is a first generation player who has had an extremely strong start to their VHL career. They joined Miami as a waiver player in season 74 and made an excellent impression during the short time on the team that season. I then drafted Perry in the S75 Dispersal Draft because of the player that Nathan had become on and off the ice. During this past season Perry stood out as one of the leaders amongst the players in the locker room. He was always building players up and trying to keep the room positive even when things weren't going our way this season. Perry also had an excellent season on the ice racking up 78 points in 72 games putting him third on the team in points this season. He had no issue with wherever he ended up in the line up and always thought about the team first. These are the many reasons why Nathan Perry is our season 75 Lebastard Memorial Trophy winner. Congrats Tina!!

Honorable Mention: I can not go without mentioned this player as the Lebastard honorable mention and the reason for it I will explain in detail. Phoenix Dawson @Toast a long time vet in this league had a moment of generosity this season that is more than deserving of a mention. He reached out to me privately and asked if I would give a first generation player with LESS TPE Dawson's second line spot. He didn't care that it would bump in into the bottom six but would rather a newer first generation member get a shot in the top 6. This selfless act is exactly what this league is about. He put his team ahead of himself and did what any of us should try to do in this league and that's create a fun and positive atmosphere for ALL members in this league including new ones. Not only is this great for retention but it is also a great way to build a positive morale in the locker room. I applaud you Toast for being the person that you are and I am glad you will be apart of this team for another season.

Also coincidentally Perry and Dawson build a pretty good bond this season in Miami so it is especially funny that these two are who I wanted to highlight for this award. I hope they get a chance to reconnect down the road once they are both in the VHL.

Dakota Lamb Award

Each season we like to show recognition to the player who led the team in goals scored. This season the award goes to Miami superstar Cabe McJake @RedSus. McJake scored 43 goals which is one goal shy of Dakota Lambs record set back in season 73. He had seven more goals than the next player on the list which were Peter Louis II and Nathan Perry who both had a respectable 36 goals each. This team was very well rounded on the front end with a lot of players who put up big numbers so the fact McJake put up 43 goals while mostly playing second line minutes is a hell of an accomplishment and that is why he has claimed the season 75 Dakota Lamb Award.

Runners up: Peter Louis II & Nathan Perry both with 36 goal seasons. Well done to the both of you.

Kosmo Kramerev Award

The Kramerev is given to the top defensemen for the Marauders during the regular season. It is an absolute honor for me to give this award to Miami Marauder legend Chicken Wing. @chikn. She was a pivotal part of the season 74 championship run last season. She is also the recipient of the season 74 Dakota Lamb award for leading the team in goals last season. She followed up that season with another spectacular one this season by getting 75 points in 72 games as well as 28 goals from the back end. She was one shy of matching her goal scoring record from last season. Wing is also a max earner and never takes a week off from her training. She is going to be a force in the VHL as soon as next season begins and I would bet she will be earning some real awards down the road. It was an absolute pleasure having you apart of our Miami Marauder family and I wish you nothing but success in the future.

The Byrne

The Byrne is the award given to one of the top waiver players to join Miami during the regular season. There were a few really good options this season but ultimately the decision was made and the winner of the season 75 Byrne is Green Gaming. @LilpfigherThis award I am sure will come with some controversy as Gaming was involved in a mishap this season that got him suspended for two weeks. I won't get into the details of what happened but I truly believe he did not do it out of malice and he was only trying to do what he could to help the team. He has learned his lesson and is going to be a better member for it. Moving on to the positives of why he deserves this award and that is because he has been an all around team player. He has played with bottom six minutes all season with the exception of some second line time that was awarded to him for his hard work. He never complained once about where he was in the lineup but rather was always his own hardest critic. He is a good young player who has a really bright future ahead of him and this is why he is deserved of the season 75 Byrne.

The MVM "Most Valuable Marauder"

Each season there is a vote at the end to determine who the most valuable Marauder was as chosen by the players and staff of the team. The vote has been cast and the results are in and to no ones surprise the winner of the season 75 MVM Award is Cabe McJake @RedSus. Cabe has shown in his short time in the VHL that he is going to be a stud in this league. He came in last season leading the charge with the "Waiver Warriors" as they charged their way to a Founders Cup. Though the team results weren't the same this season he still led the way on and off ice. He led this team in points with 86 in only 72 games, led the team in goals earning himself a Dakota Lamb award, was the last seasons Byrne award winner AND won the Skylar Rift Trophy as the season 74 playoff MVP. Insane career he has had up until this point I can't wait to see what he does once he arrives in the VHL. While his accolades are extremely impressive for what he has done on the ice he is equally as great of a member off the ice. This season came with much controversy for the Miami Marauders but McJake never waivered. He may have put pressure on himself to perform better but always got the team fired up ready to play even after a string of losses. He is all in all a great dude and I want to thank him for being a member of this family. Good luck in the future McJake!

The BigAL Trophy

The BigAL is handed out to the player who shows great promise in becoming a foundational member of this league. There were a few really good choices for this one but ultimately I have decided the season 75 recipient of the BigAL Trophy is Thadius Sales. @thadthrasher Yes I know Sales plays for Las Vegas but he was a member of this team for the majority of the season and will always be a member of the Marauder family. Now as to why he deserves this award is pretty self explanatory. He has already in his short time in this league made his name known everywhere. He is super active in the VHL discord and any team discord that he has been apart of. He is also equally as active in the forums and is currently the GM of team USA in the WJC. He has created amazing content from articles to graphics and his infamous WJC videos. I have zero doubt in my mind that if he stays active he will be a big part of this league and may even find himself where I am at one day running a team. Congrats Thad, well deserved.

Best Media Spot

Sorting through the media spots written by the team this season I realized how good everyone is at writing and coming up with idea's to be able to earn that weekly 6 TPE. It made it extremely difficult for me to decide who wrote the best media spot as everyone who did write, did a fantastic job. I eventually came to a decision and the media spot I landed on was written by Nathan Perry @tinafrombobsburgers. The article written by Perry was over 2000 words long and I remember back when he was writing it how much time and effort he had put in. He wrote a ranking of the teams and their emblems but went into the REAL LIFE history of each city and how their names and logos correlated to their history. I am most impressed however that a new member such as Perry actually took the time to do the work and write out 2000 words and that is really the big reason he is winning this award. I am excited to see what you come up with in the future. Good work Tina!

Best Graphic

This was difficult because not a lot of our members make graphics. McJake had a few really nice ones, Green Gaming has attempted a few and Davey Jones has some really nice ones that he whipped up. However I am going to super biased on this one because I can and give this award to Thadius Sales. @thadthrasher He made a really sick GM card for me and because he made it for me when I requested it and did a great job AND because its a graphic of me that's why he is getting this award. Congrats buddy you do good work! haha

Best Podcast

There aren't many who do make podcasts in the league and none of our current players do as far as I know. There is a member on our staff however that does and it is our AGM @Zetterberg. The podcast is called the VHL Roundtable and I highly recommend giving it a listen especially the episode where I guest star. So far I have really enjoyed listening to this and each week you guys get better. Congrats Z!

Well that wraps up another season of team awards. Congratulations to all the winners mentioned above. Each and every one of you are more than deserving of the awards. To the players who didn't win any awards please do not worry. All of you were instrumental to this team this season and those of you returning will get a shot at Marauder glory again next season. Thanks for taking the time to read this and Go Miami Go!

Review: Wow, what a writeup. I think it is great that you recognized so many people for their hard work this season. You went into great detail about everything too! Everything was clean and clear and easy to read. I can't find any faults. Great work! 10/10

10/10 I said my thanks in the locker room already but I appreciate the nice words here! This group is the reason I'm even remotely successful with this new guy and I appreciate being part of the squad. This was a lovely write-up. I'm not a big fan of the red text but I'm just nit-picking. :D
