S76 WJC GM Announcement #4 - TEAM EUROPE & TEAM WORLD

Recommended Posts

🔥 TOP WJC TEAMS HYYYYYYPE 🔥

And then there were two. The GMs already know that they are GMs, but they don’t know what team they are managing. This post might be the most suspenseful one of the series.

After a thrilling Gold Medal Game last season, one team went home with gold and one team went home with silver. Both teams tried their best, but there’s no medal for trying. Team Europe lost to the world champions, Team World.

Big thanks to both @JigglyGumballs and @Ledge_and_Dairy for steering our continental and global teams to the Finals. Jiggs has been a part of the WJC for two years now, and we’re thankful for their service to the tournament. Ledge was a rookie GM last year who led the Europeans to yet another medal in S75. Both were strong leaders in the locker room, and both have made their mark in WJC history.

But, it’s time to bring in some fresh blood. These two first-time GMs inherit winning programs with lofty expectations. It’s finals or bust for Teams World and Europe. Will these managers rise to the occasion, or crumble under the pressure? Let’s announce both at once and let them duke it out in the comments:

The silver medalists, Team Europe, will be led by none other than:

@KaleebtheMightyagain, so hot right now

Patrik Laine has been an extremely active member in the VHL since he joined. A beauty from back in my Miami days, Laine always did what was best for the team and for others. He may have ruffled some feathers along the way, but he always leads with his heart and does his best.

His dedication really shows with his offseason tournament, the Pro-Am. Friend of the tournament Zetterberg started this side-project, and Patrik picked it up and ran with it. In the VHL, Laine’s had some AGM experience (and some horrible timing). Hired in Mexico City, his boss Motzaburger left the league and left Patrik in the lurch. He got another job in Houston working under Sonnet… our current VHLM Commissioner and not Houston Bulls GM. His invaluable experiences in the league and out have prepared him for the big stage of the World Junior Championship.

Which means the gold-medal winning team, Team Other Worldly, Team Everyone Else, Team….

Spoiler

Laine’s arch-rival this year is an equally impressive member on the fast track to VHL success. Bobo, aka Darius Marimoto, aka Bozo (ok don’t call him that one to his face) has taken advantage of so many VHL opportunities, and when opportunities weren’t there, he created them himself. Bobo wasn’t content to just write a media spot and call it a day; he heard of a VHL project long gone, assembled a team of writers, and created The VHL Times. The newspaper is widely circulated and has a handful of issues now.

Bobo also has some team managerial experience. He has studied from the great DMax as the AGM of the Philadelphia Reapers in the VHLM. Contrary to popular belief, AGMs do have rights - the right to learn from a great mentor, and the responsibility to use those powers for good and not evil. In building the newspaper, he also built a team of like-minded people around him AND took the responsibility of managing them. Like we’ve seen with other successful candidates, managing other people in any virtual or real life capacity is a beneficial skill when applying to manage a spreadsheet hockey team.

So that’s our S76 World Junior Championship management team:

Team Asia: @KaleebtheMighty

Team USA: @Hex Universe

Team Canada: @domg5

Team Europe: @PatrikLaine

Team World: @dariusmarimotoman
