The Russian threat was spotted this week in Yukon sporting his Seattle Bears jersey at a local charity event for kids with intellectual disabilities. Sergei Kovalev has shown the media and the league that he is a soft guy when it comes to the community . When he is not on the ice he is giving his all to the people of Seattle and Yukon. With a heart the size of mother Russia this superstar is winning fans over day by day.
Next week Sergei Kovalev will be hosting a BBQ for all the children and their families to come out and enjoy some great food and music. Once that is over he has donated tickets to all the families to come down to the arena and watch the Yukon Rush take on the Las Vegas Aces. Cant wait to see you all at the bbq and game next Saturday night. The BBQ starts at 2pm with the door opening for the game at 6pm.
When the VHLM season started Sergei Kovalev was very concerned to how the season was going to pan out. would it be good or would it be bad. Only time was going to tell. After weeks of the season being underway Kovalev started turning heads and catching peoples attention. The Russian superstar is nothing more now than a steal in the VHL Draft for the Seattle Bears.
In 15 games Kovalev has managed to show off his scoring ability by putting 17 between the pipes. Goalies are started to dread when Kovalev is speeding in on them. In those 15 games Sergei has recorded 18 assists which makes him even more of a nightmare for goalies because if he doesn't have a shot. Well then he has a wicked pass.
Will he be ready for the VHL next season?
