  1. 1)The S74 draft has come and gone for both the VHL and VHLM and being drafted is obviously a once in a lifetime feeling. What was your draft day experience like? I was actually surprised to end up here in Philly. I didn't expect to be here after talking to Miami. However, that doesn't mean I am excited to get my start here in the city of brotherly love. 2) If you were to play any other sport professionally which sport are you most talented in? Soccer definitely. Or Poker, I like to win lots of money. 3) Are you an active user in the Philadelphia Reapers Discord locker room? I think I am fairly active yes 3) What SPECIFICALLY was your first thought when getting the call that you are official a Philadelphia Reaper? As an agent, this is my first time being able to truly play in the new look minors. I was last in the VHLM as an active player in Season 64 and 65. 4) What is a goal that you have your mind and heart set on and are most dedicated to achieving this season? I hope we make a deep run in the playoffs. 5)This is a deep dive into the history books and @DMaximus first Season as GM in Philly “To new team members, what do you think it means to be a Reaper? For existing team members, how will you teach your new team mates the ways of the Reaper”? Well, I don't know how to be a Reaper but I will do my best to learn 6)The Reapers have had one of the longest standing Team Colors/Jersey, if you had the power to re brand what colors and jersey scheme would you choose? I would not rebrand this awesome color scheme.
  2. The Philadelphia Reapers select, Shawn Andrei Zyuzin in the 4th round, 38th overall. Zyuzin, who didn't know what to expect come draft day as he announced him intentions just days before the draft. He was contacted by the Miami Marauders so he expected maybe he would be in South Florida this season. Then came the Reapers calling him with the 38th overall selection. Shawn was kind of surprised considering there was no talks with GM DMaximus before the draft but Shawn is happy to be able to see how this season turns out. The Reapers have a lot of depth after trading back from 14 to acquire 3 picks which ended up being 2 defenseman and a goalie. The roster looks pretty steady and many expect the Reapers to make the playoffs for a 5th straight season. Zyuzin hopes to make a difference with the Reapers and will take it one year at a time. Who knows if he will be back after this season. Shawn wants to make a difference but being so young and raw, time will tell.
  3. the infamous Denis/Kanou trophy win when 75% of his point game in a 4 game sweep of toronto
  4. GM: Austin Gow (360/175/161/24/374) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Jason Glasser (1080/547/456/67/1,161) Record (after S20): 1,944 GP | 894 W | 924 L | 116 OTL | 1,924 P | 5,599 GF | 6,348 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 164 GP | 89 W | 60 L | 15 OTL | 4-1 vs TOR, 4-2 vs QUE, 4-4 vs NYA, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-2 vs SEA, 1-3 vs HEL Season 45 VHL Entry Draft Round 4 - Pick 39: Daryn Petersenn Trades (Regular Season): To G - Bernie Gow C - Griffin Simons Season 48 Riga 1st Round Pick (G Dmitri Dadonov) To G - Hans Wingate Calgary Wrangers GM: Austin Gow @chatfan036Riga Reign GM: Steve Smeall @Toast To RW - Brady Stropko To Season 47 Calgary 2nd Round Pick (Pass) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Toronto Legion GM: Mike Molholt @Molholt To RW - Lloyd Light To Stockholm Season 47 Calgary 1st Round Pick (RW Jonathan Stark) Season 47 Davos 2nd Round Pick (Pass) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Stockholm Vikings GM: Benoit Prévost @boubabi A nice piece of GMing here by Gow to get Stropko and Light for two picks that were not used and one 1st round pick which happened to be a bust. The trade that stands out though is the Wingate trade. I am sure he wasn't going to resign in Calgary which lead to him being traded but still, would you rather go for one last run with Wingate rather than Gow who was madly inconsistent and ended up being the agents least favorite player? Season 46 Regular Season - 72 GP | 47 W | 20 L | 5 OTL | 99 P | 232 GF | 162 GA Despite the huge roster turnover, the Wranglers managed to do 1 point better than the season before with another 47 win output and 99 points. Shadu Rathod Jr, Tim Tebowgow and Marcus Hurley formed a very nice first line which saw them all finish with more than 90 points. Cote, Denis, Stropko and Simons filled out the rest of the forward core and all pitched in nicely. On defense, Lloyd Light went from a winger to the backend while Hill and Kerkko pitched in the best they could but were more defensive than offensive. Bernie Gow filled in decently but he was no WinGod. This team though, finished 9 points back of the 1st place NA team which meant another date in the Conference Semi-Finals. Season 46 Playoffs - 14 GP | 9 W | 4 L | 1 OTL The Wranglers would play the Toronto Legion in the Conference Semi-Finals and the Legion had no business being there. Calgary made sure of that with a easy 4 game sweep. The combined score of all the games was 22-2. So yea that was a 'series'. The next series against New York was their 2nd meeting in as many years with the winner going to the Continental Cup finals. The Wranglers dropped the first game 5-2 and New York fans were going wild thinking this year was going to be different. Game 2 went to Overtime after a scoreless third period where Marcus Hurley kept building his legend in Calgary scored the OT winner with under a minute left in the 1st OT. In Game 3, saw New York mount a 4-2 comeback with two goals in the third to send the game to OT. With 6 minutes to go in OT, trade acquisition Lloyd Light scored the winner to give the Wranglers a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 was another tight game which saw Calgary win 3-2 but this gave them the dreaded 3-1 series lead. Game 5 was for all the marbles in Calgary's eyes, you want to put the Americans to bed here and not give them any momentum. After a scoreless 3rd period with only 10 combined shots and OT 1 solving nothing, we headed to Overtime #2. Griffin Simons who was merely a throw in with the Gow/Wingate swap, scored the OT winner halfway threw the 2nd OT period. Calgary was heading back to the finals for the 3rd straight season. A familiar foe awaited the Wranglers in the finals as Helsinki was able to make it back to defend their crown. The first two games were split down the middle with Helsinki taking game 1 4-1 before Calgary would win game 2 by the exact same score. Game 3 was hard fought but Helsinki prevailed 3-2. Game 4 had a bit more breathing room for Helsinki with a 5-3 win. Game 5 back in Helsinki was a do or die game for Calgary. Calgary was winning 3-2 heading into the 3rd before old friend turned enemy Jackson Miller tied the game up to send it to OT. In OT, Theo Matsikas scored his first and only goal of the playoffs which happened to be the Cup clincher. Trades (off-season): To D - Francis York Morgan Season 49 Quebec 2nd Round Pick (C Sebastian Laine) To Season 48 Riga 1st Round Pick (G Dmitri Dadonov) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Quebec City Meute GM: Clinton Chevy @Kesler To D Jack Kowalski To Season 49 Calgary 3rd Round Pick (D Tony Pellerin) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Riga Reign GM: Steve Smeall @Toast More roster turnover as GM Gow tried to keep the Wranglers competitive with some moves to shore up a weak defense. Gow shipped out Riga's 1st and his own 3rd for defenseman FYM and Jack Jowalski. Awards: Season 46 Dustin Funk Trophy Winner - Tim Tebowgow Season 46 Aidan Shaw Trophy Winner - Hans Wingate Season 46 Daisuke Kanou Trophy Winner - Milos Denis Season 46 Devon Marlow-Marta Trophy Winner Overall: The Wranglers had as successful as season as you could without winning the cup. Marcus Hurley joined some elite Wranglers company as he is the 4th player to score over 200 goals and have over 400 points. He joins Volodymyr Rybak, Clark Marcellin and Alexander Chersenko. Tyler Cote also breaks into the top 10 with 112 goals and 164 assists for 276 points. Tim Tebowgow is the 22nd person to break 200 points with his 226 points which lands him 19th. Jaimie Hill is 24th with 181 points, she is oh so close to breaking 200 points. Shadsu Rathod Jr almost broke 100 points in his first season with the club. Milos Denis comes in at 79 while Kerkko is still solid defensively but has 68 career points in 216 games. Wingate ended up 3rd in wins in the regular season with 127, he would have been 2nd if he wasn't traded. Bernie Gow ended up with 13 wins. Tyler Cote established himself as quite the playoff performer in a Wrangler uniform with 72 points 46 games. This places him in 2nd place behind Rybak. Marcus Hurley is 5th with 54 points. Tim Tebowgow comes in at 7th with 43 points. Jaimie Hill is 11th with 30 points and Milos Denis is tied for 13th with 22 points. Bernie Gow climbs the playoff win list with 9 as he is 4th with more wins than Martin Brookside, if that means anything to you. Overall, the Wranglers put forth a great stretch here with 3 finals in 3 years winning once. Can they keep it going with this much turnover year after year? Wrangler Stats

  6. pls hire me. i am poor and in need of tpez
  7. you got him with 63 games left in the season. So sign and trade makes sense.
  8. It feels great to be back in the VHL. It's always exciting to see a new player you've created begin his VHL career. However, it's always the same with me, I create a player, he has a fair amount of TPE, maxing out for 4 seasons. Then somewhere around Season 5 I start to lose interest and go inactive or just stop caring. Then I come back and say it will be different and then rinse and repeat. This time though, I won't say its going to be different and go from there. I am excited. I have missed the VHL, the VHL has been a big part of my life since I joined when I was 12. I have had a player in the VHL since Season 1. Obviously, not all players have been successful but there have been some good ones. Shawn Muller, Shawn Gretzky and Dimothenis Vlasis. Shawnomir Jagr wasn't that bad, just couldn't score for some reason and maybe that's why I lost interest because the STHS system just choose who it likes and makes some players gods when they really shouldn't be THAT good. OH well, that was then and this it now. I look forward to seeing what will become of Zyuzin in this new 16 team VHL league. I missed you all. except @Banackock
  9. GM: Austin Gow (288/128/141/19/275) Former GM(s): Jardy Bunclewirth (504/172/307/25/369) Jason Glasser (1080/547/456/67/1,161) Record (after S20): 1,872 GP | 847 W | 904 L | 111 OTL | 1,825 P | 5,367 GF | 6,186 GA Playoff Record (after S20): 134 GP | 69 W | 51 L | 14 OTL | 3-1 vs TOR, 3-2 vs QUE, 2-4 vs NYA, 1-1 vs HEL, 1-0 vs DAV, 1-0 vs COL, 1-2 vs SEA Season 45 VHL Entry Draft N/A The Calgary Wranglers made no draft picks in the Season 45 draft. Devise would be pleased. Trades (Regular Season): To Season 47 Cologne 2nd Round Pick (Kasey Morgan) To D Jake Wylde Quebec City Meute GM: Clinton Chevy @KeslerCalgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow @chatfan036 To Season 47 Calgary 3rd Round Pick (Passed) To LW Hudson Backenbauer Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin GowToronto Legion: Mike Molholt @Molholt The Jake Wylde trade was a real robbery if we are being honest here. A 2nd rounder in an era where drafts weren't that deep. The Backenbauer deal doesn't make sense to me as he didn't play very much in the 22 games after the trade. Season 45 Regular Season - 72 GP | 47 W | 21 L | 4 OTL | 98 P | 231 GF | 171 GA For the 2nd season in a row the Calgary Wranglers finished 2nd in the NA Conference, just 1 point behind 1st. Bismarck Koenig was the big free agent catch in the offseason and he did not disappoint. He scored 53 goals and had 113 points on the season. Cote had a career season as well with 95 points (35 goals). Rami Jakobsson continued to prove he was well worth the bag of chips he was traded for as he scored 40 goals to go with 81 points. Wylde who was acquired for a 2nd round pick led the backend with 56 points in 63 games. Wingate continued to grow into a solid goaltender with back to back 40 win season. His 9.18 save percentage was pretty good too. Season 45 Playoffs - 16 GP | 11 W | 5 L | 0 OTL The Calgary Wranglers were to play the then Quebec City Meute in the NA Semi Final. It was an easy series with Calgary winning all 4 games by a combined scored of 16-6. This meant a date in the Conference final against the 1st placed New York Americans. Calgary came out like a house on fire winning 3 games in a row to start the series which brought their playoff winning streak to 7. After losing Game 4 1-0, the Wranglers wrapped up the series with a 4-0 win of their own in Game 5. In the finals, the Wranglers would play the Helsinki Titans. The Wranglers continued their winning ways jumping out to a 2-0 series lead. In game 3, the Wranglers lost 2-1 but bounced back with a 4-3 win in Game 4. It was looking good until...it wasn't. Game 5 saw the Titans win a hard fought 2-1 game. Game 6 was the Titans blowing out Calgary 5-2. The dreaded 3-1 series curse looked like it was going to take another victim. In game 7, the Titans won 4-1. The curse had indeed claimed the Season 45 Calgary Wranglers. Trades (off-season): To Season 48 Stockholm 4th Round Pick (Forfeited) To Stockholm Season 48 Calgary 2nd Round Pick (D Randy Savage) Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Stockholm Vikings GM: Benoit Prévost @boubabi To Season 47 Davos 2nd Round Pick (Passed) To LW - Rami Jakobsson Calgary Wranglers GM: Austin Gow Cologne Express GM: Greg Harbinson @gregreg The Stockholm trade made no sense but it is what it is I guess. Must have been a part 2/2 trade. However, Jakobsson was traded for a bag a chips after being acquired for a bag of chips. Must have been a cap dump unfortunately. Awards: Season 45 Devon Marlow-Marta Winner Season 45 Daisuke Kanou Winner - Hans Wingate Season 45 Kevin Brooks Winner - Bismarck Koenig Overall: Marcus Hurley quietly became one of the top Wrangler in the post Season 20 era. He moves up to 8th all time with 366 points in 360 games. He has been a solid point per game player in his time with Calgary. He is one of 9 players to break 300 points. Rami Jakobsson comes in at 13th with 241 points in 216 games. Not bad at all considering the deal in which he was acquired in. He is one of 19 player to break 200 points in a Wrangler uni. Tyler Cote is at 188 points in 144 games which places him 21st. Jaimie Hill comes in a 34th with 137 points. She is the 13th defenseman to break 100 points. Tim Tebowgow is 36th with 130 points in 144 games. Koenig break 100 points and is 37th in his first season with Calgary. MIcharl Clardy is 43rd in scoring with 85 points. He looks to break 100 career points next season. Jake Wylde in his 3/4 season with Calgary with 56 points. Meanwhile 2nd overall pick, Hyvarinen has 45 points in 144 games. WinGod moves up to 4th in wins with 96. His shutouts are also 4th with 17. Tyler Cote is moving up the playoff leaderboard with 52 points which places him 4th on the list. One of only 4 players to break 50. Rami is up there with 39, Hurley has 36, Tim Tebowgow has 26 while Hill has 23. Bismarck broke 20 in his outing with Calgary this year. Wylde and Clardy have 17 and 15 respectively. Hyvarinen broke 10 with 11. WinGod stands alone with 23 playoff wins. Basically, he is the best playoff goalie in Wranglers post S20 history.
  10. the last part of devise actually made me lol. we should make him rebuild a team next GM job he gets for the lulz
  11. Ufa, Russia - Shawn Zyuzin is the son of former NHLer and 2nd overall pick Andrei Zyuzin. Being born in Russia, Shawn had a lot of growing up to do since Andrei was away playing in the States with Calgary when Shawn was born. Andrei was a great dad when he had the time but that as the thing, he didn't have that much time being a full time hockey player to provide for his family. Things changed though after his dad retired and was able to help coach Shawn into a viable defenseman though. Instead of taking the NHL route like his father though, Shawn looks to take the VHL route which is in its 74th season. Shawn started his career playing for Novoil Ufa in the Russian League 2. He was thought of so highly that he just played 17 games in the Russian League 2 scoring 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points. He got the call to Salavat Yulaev UFA after those 17 games and put up 3 goals in 30 games. While not mind blowing, it was his defensive prowess that kept in him the Super League. Ufa though, wasn't good enough to make the playoffs. The next season, Shawn improved his game to the tune of 6 goals and 3 assists for 9 points in 41 games. Shawn was developing a reputation for being a shoot first defenseman. He had a great shot but not much passing ability. If you want to think of someone, think of like Bryan McCabe maybe, a player who can man the point on the PP but not do much else. In year three, Shawn worked on his passing plays and put up his best season yet with 7 goals and 10 assists for 17 points. Shawn has proven to become an all around defenseman now with steady play from the backend and someone who has a decent shot and can now pass. He can play on your powerplay and penalty kill just eating up minutes. Think of Jay Bouwmeester. After three non playoff seasons with UFA in the Russian Super League, Shawn is ready for a new challenge and has chosen the VHLM and his next stop. He had a choice of going to the CHL for a chance at being drafted into the NHL like his father before him. However, Shawn wants to trailblaze his own path. He thanks his dad for everything he has taught him but he is ready to be his own person. Maybe one day he will end up in the NHL but today is not that day. Today, Shawn Andrei Zyuzin decides he wants to play in the VHLM and then the VHL.

  13. the betrayal
  14. When I turned 13 the VHL was about 9 months old. I was so concerned with being so young in the VHL I was telling everyone I was older because I didn't want to get kicked out of the VHL. Think I was saying i was like 18 or something lol.
  15. tlo doesnt like you
  16. did i join too late to join for playoffs?
  17. 1.We are currently tied with Las Vegas, what kind of shady Vegas style move do we need to make to take them out? Chop blocks to the legs 2. Zamboni Driver @Tape-to-Tape is second in the league for shutouts, what makes them so good? I'm new here so I don't know Zamboni Driver that much but to be 2nd in the league is such a great accomplishment. 3. I've heard that the ice in Mexico is some of the worst ice in the league, do you think practicing on bad ice helps or hurts our game? I think it helps because we know all the bounces and stuff. We can anticipate the bounces happening before it happens because we know our bad ice. 4. The VHL is expanding, what team looks the best to you? I like the Warsaw team. 5. What's your go to pump up music? Country, love me some Luke Combs 6. I've heard yoga can make your hockey game better, what is your favorite yoga pose? I like doing downward dog with the ladies.
  18. The VHL is expanding once again, since being here from the beginning, I have seen the VHL expand numerous times. In Season 30 the VHL expanded to Quebec City, Quebec, Canada and Cologne, Germany. Since then, the VHL disbanded two teams one being the Calgary Wranglers (Stockholm Vikings later transferred over to Calgary, so basically Stockholm was disbanded) along with the Cologne Express. However, since the 50's the VHL has been on the upswing expanding a few more times with the Moscow Menance, Prague Phantoms, Malmo Nighthawks and D.C Defenders coming into the fold in the past 10 seasons. Now, the VHL is welcoming another West coast team with the Los Angeles Stars coming into the fold. Chicago is also welcoming a team with the Chicago Phoenix coming into the mix. London United is joining the European side of the bracket, I like the nod to United being like some nod to futbol teams from England. Finally we have the Warsaw Predators, who join the VHL from Poland. Overall, it is great to see the VHL moving forward. The VHL has come along way since the beginning and we are all the thank. Without us and those who put in the extra effort, we can't enjoy this hobby. The VHL is one of my favorite hobbies. I can't wait to see how much further we can grow in the future. Thank you to all the commissioners, General Managers and members who make the VHL what it is.
