  1. 1.) Does failing to make the playoffs this season mean the season is a failure? Yes I think it would, especially given the star power we have on our roste.r 2.) What would you consider a successful season for Davos? Making the playoffs and winning at least one series 3.) Are there any players on Davos you believe should be considered for an award? Finn Davison or Madden 4.) What NHL team would you compare Davos to? Vegas Golden Knights 5.) Who do you believe is our biggest rival? Seattle ever since those line brawls earlier in the seaosn 6.) It's early - but any thoughts on who you'd like to see Davos draft in the 1st round in the upcoming draft? Teemu Lehtinen Jr. is a guy to keep an eye on
  2. The regular seasons do feel a bit long in my opinion - I'd consider just simming more "game days" per each posted VHL or VHLM sim, but I don't get paid to make these types of decisions.
  3. Not even Top 10 in rookie scoring! btw that Boeser sig is CLEAN af
  4. The Rookie Report VSN Network - July 28, 2019 The Season 67 VHL Regular Season has just about reached the midway point and the crop of S67 VHL Rookies are starting to find their groove. Looking at the rookie scoring race, it is flooded with New York Americans and Malmo Nighthawks. It is also striking to see that the majority of the players at the top of the race are Season 66 draft prospects, who took a developmental year in the VHLM last season. Today we'll take a deep dive into the rookie class through the midpoint of the season and check in on who has been the top rookie performers. 1. Blake Gaudette - Left Wing - Malmo Nighthawks @Gaudette 34 Games | 10 Goals | 20 Assists | 30 Points Atop the rookie scoring leaderboard is Blake Gaudette of the Malmo Nighthawks. The S66 VHLM MVP nominee has accumulated 10 goals and 20 assists in his first 34 games played in the VHL. This nearly point-per-game pace puts him fairly comfortably at first in rookie scoring. Gaudette was a Season 66 draft pick, going 34th overall to Malmo, which is proving to be quite the steal at this point in his career. Gaudette has been playing on the teams second line alongside fellow rookies Phil Marleau and Lucas Nygren. The All-Rookie line for Malmo has been an exciting one to watch and has been headlined by the top rookie of the year candidate in Blake Gaudette 2. Nethila Dissanayake - Right Wing - New York Americans @nethi99 34 Games | 11 Goals | 16 Assists | 27 Points Second on the list is another rising Season 66 draft pick, Nethila Dissanayake. Dissanayake has been a polarizing player on the ice in the VHL, standing at 6'8, he uses his big body to create high scoring chances. He played two seasons in the VHLM for the Saskatoon Wild, posting decent stats each season, but seems to have made a bit of a leap in the VHL this season. His 27 points so far this season puts him in the Top-2 on the Americans behind veteran Piotr Jerwa who has 32 points. The Americans have been primarily playing him on the second line with Walter Clements (who we will mention a bit later) and Blake Laughton, making yet another All-Rookie line in the VHL. Look for Nethila to potentially close the gap on Gaudette for rookie scoring in the second half of the season. 3. Walter Clements - Center - New York Americans @cpetrella 34 Games | 11 Goals | 13 Assists | 24 Points Back-to-back New York American rookies reside in the Top-3 of rookie scoring here with Walter Clements coming in at number three. Clements also continues the theme of late-round Season 66 draft picks coming into their own in Season 67 of the VHL. Clements was drafted extremely low at 55th overall in that draft class. Like Dissanayake, Clements is also 6'8 and plays on the Americans second line. Clements was a prospect that the Americans have been patient with as he appears to have a bit of a slower developmental curve than other prospects around the league. Clements played on the champion Philadelphia Reapers last season and excelled in the playoffs to take home the Playoff MVP award. Despite the struggles this season, the Americans may have found a diamond in the rough here with Clement if he continues to develop. 4. Lucas Nygren - Center/Right Wing - Malmo Nighthawks @Advantage 34 Games | 6 Goals | 18 Assists | 24 Points The second Malmo Nighthawk on the list is Lucas Nygren; line mate of the leading rookie scorer Blake Gaudette. The smooth-skating Swede played for the Saskatoon Wild last season (30-36-66) in the VHLM before signing with Malmo as a GM player. Despite being number four on this list, Nygren is the top Season 67 draft prospect in scoring with his 24 points in 34 games. When you look in detail at Nygren's stat line, it is hard to ignore his astonishingly low shooting percentage at just around 4%. This indicates to me that he has quite simply been unlucky this season in terms of scoring goals. When this starts to turn around, expect Nygren to catch fire. 5. Rusty Shackleford - Defense - Malmo Nighthawks @K1NG LINUS 34 Games | 5 Goals | 19 Assists | 24 Points Rounding out our Top-5 is yet another member of the young Malmo Nighthawks in defenseman Rusty Shackleford. Rusty was drafted 17th overall in the Season 66 draft class and is the top rookie scorer amongst defensemen so far this season. He is primarily a new-school defensive defenseman who can skate very well, but this season for Malmo he has found some early success in terms of offensive production. Shackleford is seeing top pair minutes for Malmo during even strength and also has a presence on the teams second powerplay unit. This is a player that has been working hard and developing nicely ever since declaring for the VHL draft; Malmo looks to have a potential franchise defenseman here.
  5. This week on VHL.com, we highlight three VHLM players who recently eclipsed the 100 TPE mark and earned their "first-generation bonus" July 27, 2019 1. Kaspars Claude - W @Bruins10 The left winger from the Minnesota Storm has been putting in the work over the past two weeks and really bursting on to the scene. He has posted 5 goals and 3 assists in 25 games played for the Storm. He seems to possess some natural scoring ability and was a dynamic producer as a member of the Boston University Terriers in the NCAA. There is a buzz generating around Claude. 2. Bruce Grimaldi - G @Psyduck77 The starting goaltender for the San Diego Marlins. His stats leave something to be desired (7 wins in 26 games played), but he continues to improve and doesn't currently have the best supporting cast around him. Still a raw prospect and goaltenders take a longer time to come into their own, but Grimaldi definitely has a ton of potential. His posted rookie profile quotes this about Grimaldi: "It’s not irregular to see Grimaldi at the rink two hours after everyone else has left. He has a drive within him that is rarely seen, and it seems that he will stop at nothing to achieve his goals." 3 - Chad Gilbert - C @Fire_In_Babylon Chad Gilbert is the next on the list who recently eclipsed the 100 TPE mark. Gilbert has ideal VHL size at 6'4 and 215 pounds and is already one of the better face-off men in the VHLM. He only has registered one goal and four assists in his 22 games played for the San Diego Marlins; but as mentioned with Grimaldi, the team as a whole is struggling. Everyone should be keeping an eye on this American born winger.
  6. 1. Definitely slightly concerned, but we are still pretty early in the season. If we are going to turn a corner it needs to be now though 2. Pekka has been solid in his games, despite the stats. We havent played that great in front of him and need to score some more goals to help out 3. Obviously a big addition, one of the top forwards in the VHL. 4. I'll say rookie Guy LeGrande - hasnt been producing offensively that much this season but he has good work ethic and will be a very good player 5. Somewhere in the USA - maybe Dallas? 6. MIP so far has been John Madden I think - he has been on fire to start this season
  7. 1.Through 9 games, HC Davos is sitting at 4-3-2 and 6th place in the VHL. Does this surprise you at all? Still early in the season - I have high expectations for this group. I'm sure we will turn a corner later in the season 2.Toronto Legion is undefeated so far through 9 games. Davos is set to face Toronto on Game 57 which is only 3 games from now. Will they still be undefeated? If the game already happened, did that result surprise you? Toronto has quite the team right now - star power led by Ryan Peace and Veran Dragomir. It will be a tough test 3.Davos has given up the fewest goals in the league with 18, what do you think has been the biggest component of that? Solid defense and a rock solid goalie baby 4.John Madden is currently leading the team in scoring with 10 points in 9 games. His personal record is 64 points in which he did last season, how much do you see him beating that by? He could have close to 100 points this season. Which is why I drafted in in my fantasy league. STUD! 5.How do you think the rookies have played so far this season? The rookie class has been solid for us - no one is dominating the league, but that is expected with younger players. We just gotta keep grinding 6.What do you think is the reason for only scoring 23 goals? Does the lines need changing or did Davos lose that much scoring power? We definitely lost some top end scoring, but maybe a line mix could jolt some life into us
  8. fucking around in GIMP this week
  9. F - Blade Bardown D - Stefan La Croix G - Boulin Wall
  10. VHL.com Rookie Aston Martin of the Davos Dynamo has had quite the interesting start to his VHL career. The second-line center was held pointless for the first handful of games in the VHL, but is beginning to find his stride. Coming off a 2 goal game yesterday, Martin how has a respectable 2 goals and 2 assists in his 7 games played so far in the big leagues. The most surprising stat line for Martin, however, is his Penalty Minutes with a team leading 22. Almost half of these came in one game against the Seattle Bears where he fought Valeri Morozov and Hulk Hogan in the first period, spending half the period in the penalty box serving a pair of majors. Martin was never known for this style of play when he played for the Ottawa Lynx in the VHLM last season and posted a 100 point season. Which leads to the question, is Aston Martin now a VHL goon? We caught up with him to investigate. Valeri Morozov and Aston Martin fight to a draw at 6:52 of 1st period Hulk Hogan and Aston Martin fight to a draw at 14:11 of 1st period
  11. Sorry - Ryan Sullivan Jr. - D
  12. Lol I fought Hogan and Morozov Told you DAV/SEA was gonna be a blood bath @Banackock
