    1. We just acquired Aurelien Moreau from Toronto for an S80 1st and S81 2nd. What are your thoughts on the trade?

I think it's a great trade! Our roster is looking set up to win everything in a few seasons.

    2. We've been building this team up for the past few seasons, do we have all the pieces we need to be contenders? If no, what position do you think we need to bolster?

I think all the players we need are already on the roster. Just a bit of development time and we'll be set!

    3. We've chatted a lot about Monopoly in the locker room recently. What are some of your favorite games to play with teammates?

Monopoly is great but Risk is my favorite game to play with friends. Strategy, drama, backstabbing, it's always fun

    4. For the third or fourth season in a row, we have a rookie in the top 3 of league-wide rookie scoring. Why do rookies just do so well in Moscow?

    Moscow goated obvs

    5. Assess your performance so far through this season. Are you meeting your expectations? What do you want to be doing better in?

I'm not playing for Moscow but honestly I couldn't have asked for any better, a bit surreal to be leading the entire league in points by 11!

    6. How are you doing today? How's life going? Drop a sentence or two about what's going on in your life, I want to know what you're up to

Trying to savor the last few weeks before school starts up again!

    1. We got a 4 game winning streak going right now. Which line would you say was the driving force behind those wins for us?

    2. We got 4 Rookies in Top 10 Rookies of this season, @Tbeez99, @Jakefufu, @Grapes-Tophat_Clan-, and leading the #1 Rookie, @STZ. (Rookies Leaders) Do you have any words for them?

    3. A poll for VHLE was posted last week asking to pick your favorite cities. What was your favorite city and do you think we will see another Russian team?

    4. Sticking on the topic of VHLE. If you could name 1 team, what is a creative name you would give it?

    5. Second Round of NHL has begun. Who you think is going to be the winner of this round and if your team was eliminated, who are you cheering for now?

    6. It's a Memorial Day/week for those living in the US. If you are celebrating Memorial Day are you doing or did anything special for Memorials Day? If you don't celebrate memorials day, did you do or going to do anything special this week?

    1. First line. Tbh I don't really know why lines exist. But I'm sure the first line's been doin a great job, I'm proud guys

    2. 4 in the top 10??? Congrats, not easy to do! Can't believe sporton wouldn't draft 5 top 10 earners

    3. Rome, super cool city with a really nice culture.

    4. Moscow A person or thing that is likely to cause harm; a threat or danger.

    5. Caps. I don't know if they were eliminated but I bet they were cuz Caps

    6. Vibing, school almost over

  3. 1. How excited are you to play our first playoff game?

Well, it's already passed now, but I was super excited.

    2. Is there a specific player on the Bulls that we should target?

Nope. If you think you're the best player, then show it. We don't need to decide for you.

    3. Who do you think will score our first playoff goal?

    Me, hopefully. Did I?

    4. Bowman has shutout the Bulls 3 times during the season, can he do it again?

    Easy. Keep that momentum going.

    5. Do you have any pre game rituals that you'd like to share?

Take a deep breath and relax!

    6. How many hits do you think Tanky will get in the opening round?

    100. Why not?

  4. 1. Which team do you think has most surprised you this season?

Us! I mean, what a turnaround. And yes, I am aware that other teams have had some impressive turnarounds as well. But, I'm sure we're better!

2.We're currently the highest scoring team in the VHLM with 41 goals so far. Do you think we can keep that up until season's end?

It all comes down to consistency, which we struggled with last season. IF we can just trust ourselves and trust each other, nobody can stop us.

    3.  What are your thoughts on the league's longer than usual offseason?

Love it! I love offseasons. Wait, did I say that out loud? Hopefully none of my coaches are listening.

    4. If you end up working your way to riches in the VHL what is one of the first things you'd buy?

Probably a nice house for my mom. Then a nice house for me. I like nice houses.

    5. Tell me something good that's going on with your life right now.

Got some ups and downs right now. Mostly downs. But winning makes everything better!

    6. What is one thing you'd like to recommend to the younger generation of players behind you?

Be good. Work hard. Trust yourself, trust your teammates. If it's bad, don't worry - it'll get better. If it's good, be careful - it'll get worse.

  5. Well, we almost did it. We almost turned the season around after a bad start, and we came this close to cracking the postseason. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough - we just couldn't seem to string wins together. We'd beat a top team in one game, then in the next game lose to a bottom-feeder. The only win streak we managed came after our official elimination from the playoffs. With three games left, we sat in fifth place in the conference. Our season was effectively over. Then, we won the final three games. The roster was inconsistent in a way, too. Every week, a new mid-season addition seemed to join the team. I mean, I was one of them, but not the last. (And as far as I can tell, I wasn't the first.)

Saskatoon's been a fun place to live. It's really cold. The people here are nice, and they all LOVE the team. It's really cold. It's been fun trying all the new food dishes around here, and you know I had to go get some poutine even though it's not technically from Saskatchewan. Did I mention it's really cold? Like, seriously. We get like half a foot of snow every winter month and it just... stays there. I've never seen anything quite like it before.

The draft is coming up, and I know the chances of me returning to Saskatoon aren't huge simply because there are so many other teams. No matter what happens, I'll be grateful for my time here. I'm excited to see what's next!

  6. Questions for Week 2/15 - 2/21

How do you feel about the Wild's playoff chances after all the new pickups?

It didn't quite work out, but I think they've been huge not just for our play as a team but for our culture in the locker room. We won't be able to keep the team intact, but hopefully we'll be able to come close.

The team has been playing with a win one lose one streak lately how do you feel we can get on a winning streak?

We have the same consistency problem we've had this whole season. The only way to get out of it is by trusting everyone around you and trusting yourself.

What are your expectations for yourself in the final stretch?

Win - there'd be no better way to close out the season than with some consistent playing.

How many wins do you believe we will end up with?

    Well, we've got 26 with 3 games left, so... 29. Let's gooooo

Do you feel you can take the next step and become a legend in either the VHLM or VHL

I don't need to be a legend. I just want to be an effective contributor on either the team I land on for the VHLM or the VHL. I think I can do that!

Who is your favourite new addition to the team?

Honestly everyone has been great. The LR has become a much more fun place since they joined!

  7. 1. It's been an up and down week for the Wild, having racked up a number of impressive wins before a 4-game skid. What does the team need to do to get back to winning ways?

Our biggest problem for the time being is consistency. When we get back to trusting one another and trusting ourselves, we'll be able to return to being a top team in the league.

    2. In the last game, the Wild took conference-topping Minnesota to a shootout. Do results like this show that the team can compete with the best in the league?

Absolutely we can. The talent on this roster is here, and the hard work is here. As we get to know each other better towards the end of this season and the start of the next, we'll surely turn into the top team we know we can be.

    3. Despite showing flashes of brilliance, is consistency the key for the Wild going forward?

For sure. You see it in some games where we play well against the top teams, then we can go and lay an egg against the bottom teams. Once we get that ironed out, we can play the way we know we can.

    4. As the league continues to take shape, are you confident that the Wild can claim a playoff place?

It'll be hard for sure, but I believe.

    5. Two of the Wild's next three games are against Mississauga, who sit fifth in the eastern division. Are these two games that the team feels they should be winning?

100%. It'll be a great test of whether we can just go and get work done consistently and efficiently.

    6.  With the freezing weather currently about, have you been able to take advantage and skate on the pond during the winter season?

Not sure how I feel about that. It doesn't look anywhere near thick enough...

    Welcome to the VHL, @124715!

Your journey to the VHL begins here in the VHLM, a developmental league that all future VHL players compete in before going pro. The Saskatoon Wild can offer you third line minutes right off the bat, and depending on what type of build you want to go for, we can work with getting you power play and/or penalty kill minutes. We've got a good group of guys here eager to develop into the next big VHL names, and we'd love to have you join us!

It's rare that you get to choose where you'll play in the VHL, so take full advantage of this opportunity! Take the time to review the offers you'll surely get, and choose the team that can offer you exactly what you want this season! You will be a part of the S77 VHLM Dispersal Draft, so you will still get to hear your name called on draft day after this season!

If you decide that the Saskatoon Wild are the right team for you, simply quote this post and reply, "#SaskyUp."

Best of luck to you, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

Beketov's post about retiring jerseys made me kind of evaluate recent contributors to the club. It's hard to really have someone worth retiring in the VHLM, since players tend to spend one season and then go up to the bigs, so how much did they really contribute to the VHLM team in the long run? I wanted to do one for now, and there will likely be another after the season, but the Ottawa Lynx need to show appreciation for a longtime VHLMer, who finished his career here with us and is now plying his trade for the Toronto Legion in the VHL.

Paul Dimirio Jr actually spent more of his VHLM time in Saskatoon than he did in Ottawa, with 6 seasons total, 4 there and 2 here, but the thing that stands out to me, and why Dimirio is the first Lynx jersey retirement in a long while is that he chose to come here as an active free agent twice after his draftee rights years expired with Saskatoon. Dimirio bought into the team philosophy in S60, when we tried to make a run for the cup but lost in game 7 of the finals to Saskatoon. He chose to return in S61 despite the brief retool and the fact that we were only a mediocre team that year. This is the type of guy that isn't typically going to make the headlines, he's not the top TPE earner or anything of the sort, but he's been a great servant to the club prior to his promotion to the VHL.

Obviously with player numbers being such a small part of the sim, I'm not going to make a rule that no future Lynx can wear 13, because I'm not going through all the player pages to check, so it's more a symbolic retirement than anything, but the banner of Paul Dimirio Jr will hang in the rafters in Ottawa into perpetuity.

    @Beketov here's one :)
