  2. 1. Coke world is awesome! Try the Coke around the world challenge, it is awesome to do with friends or family and try drinks from around the world. 2. Boston, MA and Salt Lake City, UT 3. I really want to round out my reaction time and hand speed while also improving my overall game. 4. I would love to go to an expansion team but I will always love Calgary as well. 5. Take advantage of all the TPE opportunities. I haven't followed that, but you can make your player really good if you follow it. 7. I want to improve all I can to help get this team to the playoffs, let's hold on to a spot cause playoffs are good even as a lower seed.
  3. Crawford seeks expansion opportunity Newly implanted American goaltender, Solomon Crawford, currently playing in the VHLM for the Las Vegas Aces, is eager for any opportunities that come to him in the VHL and maybe more so, the opportunity to be THE GUY for one of the new expansion teams when they are announced. Being on an expansion team has a ton of opportunities and the main ones are being able to build a team from scratch and being part of the growth of a franchise, as well as the lasting impact you can have in the history of a franchise and being able to claim you retired as the team's all-time leading wins getter or something like that. For many, the opportunities are there no matter where you go. For goaltenders, it is hard to crack a team's roster or starting lineup with the limited spots around the league. Crawford, however, believes in himself more than most people do and he shouldn't have an issue finding a spot. "I know I have what it takes and I am going to work my butt off to get to where I need to be and where my future team needs me to be, and where Las Vegas needs me to be. I would love to play for an expansion team, no matter where they are located, it is an amazing opportunity for any young player to go to." @diamond_ace and @Enorama are poised to be great leaders in their locker room and their experience in the league could definitely help push a team into contention sooner rather than later. Both teams will need a great goalie to be a part of their team's futures so Crawford has a shot to stand above the rest and be the guy for them. Solomon could anchor a team for multiple years and it is definitely something an expansion team should look for. A guy that likely could be a franchise-type player to go along with whatever expansion draft strategy they employ. Usually the expansion drafts are not the cream of the crop players so finding tremendous young talent early can really help and expansion team build for long-term contention and Crawford could be part of that plan.
  4. Expansion!? Some Hot Location Ideas! Wow! Another VHL expansion! That indicates that even after a ton of years and a ton of seasons, the VHL is still in a great place to keep growing and expand the open slots for all the players that we have in this league. It is always a great thing when you talk about expansion and while it is super hard on GMs (Believe me, I know this from SBA and from PBE), it is a great thing for the league as a whole and for players that come through the ranks. I know for me as well, I am excited because it means a few more goaltending opportunities around the league and my guy might actually have a shot to have a career as a starting goaltender rather than a back-up. I am fine with splitting time if need be but obviously, being able to be a team's starter and help a team win a cup is something everyone wants. Something people also may want is a place to play that may be familiar to them or just seems like a great location to play and new teams always carry the, "I can be the guy that makes this franchise good right away and have all their records" incentive as well. With that, if I were going to an expansion team, where would I want to play and where do I think are some markets that are deserving of a team and should be represented here in the VHL? 1. Boston, MA As a Bruins fan, this one is easy. Boston is an amazing sports market and whether you like it or not, a championship destination with teams like the Bruins and the Celtics, as well as the Red Sox and Cheatriots. I am originally from Massachusetts so teams from there always have my heart. I do have a goalie on New England in SHL as well but I am not sure whether that makes me want to play for a New England or Boston team again, I just don't know, but I don't think I would mind at all. 2. Salt Lake City, UT Utah is an interesting market as it is a smaller market but the fans in Utah get behind their teams 110% such as Real Salt Lake and the Utah Jazz, they always have a passionate fan base and sports teams can really have success in the market regardless of what people may say. I currently live in Utah, although only for a few more weeks before I move to Atlanta, GA which, yeah, they have had a team and lost a team from the NHL so I won't suggest them here, though I loved the Thrashers' branding and Ilya Kovalchuk. Utah needs another sports team and a VHL team could be amazing as there are very few sim league teams in Utah, with my Utah team in the PBE being the only one to my knowledge. 3. Montreal, QC, CN I will preface this with the fact I hate Montreal's NHL team being a Bruins fan, but, they are a classic team. In a market where I think VHL needs another Canadian team, I think Montreal is the next best option for a team so they came to mind immediately as a location. 4. Los Angeles, CA or Dallas, TX Big markets, big sports towns, and locations without a team, these are options I lump together cause I think there are better options, but if we are talking about wanting to expand the fake VHL world into a bigger market, these would be great. The Kings do well in LA, and Dallas has great support for the Cowboys and Mavericks where I believe a hockey team would do great. 5. Australia or New Zealand Interesting right? We don't have any of these yet and it is an untapped market in sim leagues in general pretty much. The biggest problem is I don't know if Australians or Kiwis even care about hockey at all and it could be unrealistic to expect a team there. I do think however, it is not about full realism and if someone wants a team there, it will happen. No matter the place, I am excited to see where these teams call home and look forward to seeing the growth of their teams and the continued growth of the league in general! Congrats to @diamond_ace and @Enorama for this opportunity! As an expansion GM from the PBE, I can tell you, it is amazing fun. Take advantage of building the team's history and lore around them and most of all have fun and good luck!

  7. Revvy Considering Retirement No, Oleksiy Revchenko has not been in the VHL long, except usually when you think about him, it feels like he has been around forever and each year the consistent thought is that Revchenko, known as 'Revvy' has never lived up to his expectations. Besides an amazing year in which he was a second-tier star for the Titans of Helsinki, Revvy has yet to come close to a point per game average while playing in Calgary and has not been to a cup finals game in Calgary. While coming extremely close to the cup with Helsinki, Revvy has just wanted to bring that same fire to the Wranglers and it just does not seem to be happening. Sure, Revchenko was never going to be a star in the league but he has the potential to be a top point getter in the league. With the Wranglers poised to make another playoff and cup run, there is a chance for big things to happen. So, why would Revvy retire? Why would he hang up his skates? His career has been underwhelming and while he still can be a valuable role player on a championship team, that really is not what Revvy aspires to do. He wants to be a top line center and showcase his plus passing ability. Calgary maybe has underutilized Revvy to this point by making him play more defensive but Revvy can excel as a top line center around some scoring wings. If he is kept in a smaller role, it seems like Revvy would rather retire than continue on in the same role.
  8. 1. I wish, things did not turn out how we wanted them to but we were so closed to getting into the cup finals, the team is really good. 2. He just had some busy busy weeks at work working 80 hours a week, he is pretty much back now. 3. Win Win WIn!!! We still have an amazing team and cap space. We can win a cup for sure.
  9. Revvy Is Not A Calgary Hero Revvy is a good, mediocre hockey player, but he is not a superstar, and never will be in his time with Calgary. He has had a ton of success in his career, specifically his time in the VHLM and his one season where he was traded to Helsinki but for Calgary, who initially traded for him from the now-defunct Quebec City, he has been, well...just there. When you look at his one season with the Titans, he had 79 total points and a +/- of +21 and was one of the leading scorers during the Titans run-up to game 7 of the Cup finals. Maybe the style of play for the Wranglers is affecting Revchenko but he has not had the same kind of success with them. Expected to have taken a major leap this season after his breakout season in Helsinki, Revvy is regressing back to how he played before the trade. Currently, through 67 games, Revvy has 55 points, not an awful number, but much different than his 79 in 72 games last season. The style of play in Calgary seems to have Revvy in more defensive scenarios as he racks up more shot blocks and hits in Calgary than he did with Helsinki, though at the same time, he is taking more shots than ever. With his extreme pass-heavy style, it is interesting to see him be shooting a lot more, but it isn't his game. Revvy may never fit in with Calgary in terms of the style of play and maybe the team ships Revvy out as he gets older or maybe Revvy calls it quits early, stay tuned.
  10. At the time of this writing, the Calgary Wranglers are currently in 3rd place in the VHL and looking like a team with a real chance at a cup run this season. The team made a lot of moves to speed up their rebuild this past off-season and one of those moves was bringing back center, Oleksiy Revchenko. Revchenko was traded in a huge deal last season to Helsinki along with Canmore and instantly made Helsinki one of the top teams in the league and they made it to the cup finals, losing in a crushing cup final to Toronto. Revvy managed more than a point per game while with Helsinki, finishing with 79 points, with 26 goals and 53 assists. He had shown why he was coveted in the trade market for his playmaking ability and was able to help as a second line center for the Titans. Now, back with Calgary, his production has slipped a little bit but still has contributed with 27 assists and 12 goals, good for 39 points in 45 games. While he is no longer averaging a point per game, he is getting involved and the team is in 3rd place. He is not the most exciting player in the VHL, he has always been mediocre but he is a valuable role player and could be big in terms of a Wranglers run for the cup.
  11. 1. @BladeMaiden Brick Wahl of course, is there any other answer!? 3. Helsinki is a pretty place, Finland is a great country with great hockey fans. I love Calgary but Helsinki is very beautiful. 5. Comedic relief is always the best medicine! 7. Ooof, yeah, Revvy has sent nudes to some wrong people in his lifetime, with different results. 8.
