  4. 1. Why sniff and not taste? They're obviously used in similar facets, but doesn't that muffin look yummy? 2. What VHL rule do you think needs changing? 3. What new VHL rule might you decide on adding? 4. Any surprises (see pick 3) in the VHL draft that you'd like to talk about? 5. Fuck Marry Kill, but with players in your VHL locker room.
  5. To all those interested parties except the GM of the Olso Drizzle. For those of you who don't know me, call me Barzy. I'm the GM of the Yukon Rush, who are coming off of the best record in recent VHLM memory, and a tough loss in the Founder's Cup finals. I'm writing this as part of my due diligence in scouting young VHLM talent, which isn't as easy as you think. While I can look at your profiles you've been writing, and see who's done what, I'd mostly love to hear from you. Send me a DM or reply to this with a comment on why I should take you in the draft, and why you are excited for this upcoming season! Why the Rush? I can promise you, as the Yukon Rush we will be striving for greatness this season, but sometimes you fall a little short. If it just so happens that the Rush are very far out of the playoff chase as the deadline approaches, I will do everything in my power to move you to a top contender, and make sure you CAN compete. For those of you who want to be Rush, I'll make sure to keep you, and be a good GM. So again, if you'd like to make my scouting for tonight's draft a little bit easier, or make yourself stand out *hint hint* leave a comment or send a DM my way. Finally, I'd like to mention that I just finished my first season in the VHLM, and I'd love to take on some new mentees to show the ropes. Obviously, I don't know everything, but I know just enough to help you get taken in the first round of the VHL draft like I did, and I know some people in high up places who can answer all of your questions.
  6. Cole, I promise VHLM GMs are paying attention. Good stuff here bud.
  7. Crap I think I meant to be protecting Santos... @ShawnGlade that alright?
  8. To those of you that don't speak Finnish, that means welcome to Finland, at least that's what Google Translate told me. The very American Dan Montgomery will be taking his talents to Helsinki, a place which google tells him is the Southern Capital of Finland, something they just don't teach you in American public school. Montgomery is overwhelmed, and excited to begin the next chapter of his life abroad in Finland. It's a long way from Long Island, and should be one heck of a ride. Joining a team with such a long playoff streak is reassuring for Montgomery, because it means the team is in good hands with @Higgins at the helm. Immediately after draft day, Montgomery made it public that he has agreed to a verbal 1 year deal with the Yukon Rush, should he not be wanted in the VHL for this upcoming season. Him being the GM of the Rush and all, this was to be expected for the young Center. While originally hoping to be a top 5 pick, 6th overall isn't bad either, and a first round pick as a first gen payer is a commendable achievement. Look for Montgomery to keep working on his defense, skating, and passing in the offseason, looking forward to giving the VHL hell, and giving former teammate Leph Twinger a run for his money at Rookie of the Year.
  9. *Quickly googles where Helsinki is* EXCITED to join my teammates in FINLAND as the new draft pick of the Helsinki Titans!

  10. While Montgomery scored 2 goals in his team's only win in this season VHLM Final's, he saw the star studded Yukon Rush team fail to bring home the s61 Founder's Cup. Montgomery started out as more of a role player, being a mid season acquisition, but by the end of the season was a full on contributor playing out of position as a 2nd line winger, as well as manning the Center spot on the 4th line. When asked for a comment, Montgomery responded by saying he was "dumbfounded, and still processing the loss." Also saying, "I can't believe with guys like Twinger and Silpher we couldn't get more pucks in the back of the net. As someone quickly thrust into a leadership role, being both a Center and the team's rookie GM, Montgomery felt the ever-present pressures of the role starting to get to him. Now with his first season in the books, he will have to make the decision on whether or not he will return to the Rush, a team that gave him his start, as the TPE leader for the team, and lead a skeleton team towards the playoffs, or jump ship and play for whichever team selects him in the upcoming VHL draft. Montgomery is projected by many as an early 2nd round pick, but some mock drafts have him jumping into the end of the first round. Wherever he goes, Montgomery will need to stay focused, and keep practicing. While winning one for Yukon is very important to him, he understands the importance of helping a VHL team which drafts him find success, and plans on doing whatever is best not only for Yukon, but for whichever team decides to pick him.
  11. Looking forward to turning some heads with my first gen player in the upcoming draft

  12. @Banackock thanks for the kind words
  13. 1. How was the team atmosphere in Saskatoon following the early exit from the playoffs? 2. How do you see your stock rising/falling in the days leading up to the draft? 3. Do you have a preference for landing spot among the VHL teams? 4. Will there be a language barrier should you be drafted anywhere? 5. Being from Baltimore, where there is no NHL, who do you root for and why? (please don't say Caps )
  14. Welp, it all went downhill when @Smarch handed over the reigns. We should've let the VHLM commish continue to rig it in our favor.
  15. This must be rigged

  18. Can't confirm or deny that half of the Rush team was hungover from a night out in Vegas, and that's why they couldn't finish this in 4. A whole lot different than the night life in Yukon.
  19. @Smarch was building a win now team, huh? I have again updated my protect list to reflect these changes.
  20. I've updated my protection list to reflect this reminder

  23. On the tail end of one of the greatest regular season performances in VHLM history with an astounding 62 wins, and a mesmerizing 8 losses, the s61 Rush have already secured their spot in the ranks as one of the best regular season teams in VHLM history... but can they prove it where it matters? The Rush, led by ELITE wingers Leph Twinger and Sergie Kovalev, have put up 325 goals this season, which is almost two times that of the Sasky Wild. Their high powered offense is what has been winning them games, from crazy talented wingers, to offensive defensemen like Pilgrim and Jokinen, to stellar role players like Muligan and Vega, the Rush are not a team you will look forward to squaring off with in a race for the Founder's Cup. Some reports are making some rivalry between the Rush and the Oslo Storm this season, to which newly minted GM Dan Montgomery had this to say: "honestly the boys in Oslo finished what 32? 33? points behind us in the overall standings? We'll take the same offense and defensive prowess that we've had all season into every game, including those against Oslo, and we're gonna beat them up and down the ice. I'm guaranteeing, that's right GUARANTEEING a win against that team, and any other supposed "rivalry" matches we have on the horizon." Bold prediction from the new GM, let's see if the Yukon boys can back it up.
  24. Dan Montgomery is just your average everyday guy, he wakes up in the morning, eats a banana with peanut butter, laces up his *sponsored* Adidas signature shoes, and heads to the rink for his morning skate. He's currently focusing on his ability to move the puck into the zone, strength on his Faceoffs, and putting pucks on, and in the net. He sees that as not only the strongest part of his game, but the part that needs the most work, especially with the upcoming VHL draft. See for Montgomery, the VHL is just a mystery, a bunch of hearsay, of what professional, high level hockey can be. Yeah sure, he's had his time to talk to current and former VHLer's, and he's been developing his game in his first VHLM season, but he really hasn't had the opportunity to lace up his skates and go toe to toe with the best -simulated- players in the world. Montgomery has seen his name in the news recently as a top prospect, being projected as an early 2nd round selection due to his status as VHLM GM, and his quick progression through the "activity ranks" among new, first time VHLers. A lot of people would say this amount of pressure is too much to put on a young player like Montgomery, but what does he think? When asked about his rising stock in @DollarAndADream's new VHL mock draft, as the 7th ranked player overall, Montgomery responded being both humble, and confident. He said that he expects to be there, in fact, he expects to be higher. He's gotten to play alongside great prospects such as Vega, Twinger, and Kovalev, and seen what true greatness is, all in his short time in Yukon. Dan really has been emphasizing that he knows he has doubters, but also, that these doubters motivate him. Right above his locker in Yukon he has an outdated poster that says "Haterz R My Motivaterz" spelled incorrectly with a backwards R. Montgomery feels that embracing these mistakes in poster printing, as well as the intended message are good for the up and coming superstar, and are lessons he plans on taking into the VHL, and throughout his professional career. When teams were scouting him, a GM asked him "Why should we pick you?" and he responded "Don't and see how it works out for you", a quote he admittedly stole from his icon, New York Islanders Center, and Calder Trophy recipient Mat Barzal. Dan really has been trying to emulate Barzal's game, quick and strong on his skates, with finesse to finish up close; however, Montgomery wants to be his own skater, and separate himself from the pack. Sure, right now he probably isn't a point per game scorer, but as the 3rd best Center on this Yukon team, he sure looks forward to bringing home the Founder's Trophy for the great fans in Yukon. Montgomery said "individual achievements, draft picks, MVP trophies, those all come second. What I'm here for is to win championships, and come next week that's exactly what I plan on helping the Rush do. Where I am next year, I'll worry about next year, but teams can expect me to give 110% and be the best player I can be." With VHL.com, I'm @BarzalGoat, signing off EDIT: --I'm an idiot and already did welfare for this week, so i'm gonna claim this and my double's week for the week of 8/5, thanks
