It's GP man, nobody's going to get the award playing under 1/5 of the season, no matter how well they do. With human backups becoming more prevalent though, we should have some sort of official rule to allow players to keep their rookie status should they play ~20 or fewer games in a season. Maybe ruling should be no more than 20 games in any one given season and still on their rookie contract? @Victor I know you mentioned this once briefly but idk if there's anything actually in the rule book though.

It's never been 30 TPE for bringing someone on, at least not as long as I've been here.

Good thing there's update logs so we can actually see exactly how much TPE each player gets and from what.

I understand both sides of this. Kudos to Reno for doing what he feels is right and kudos to the BoG for actually making a concerted effort to bring in new voices to the BoG. This I disagree with though, I think everyone should always be critical of the BoG. It may not be fun for the governers themselves, but when you have any modicum of power (I know commissioners have final say, but BoG realistically 'makes' a lot of decisions), you should be prepared to be criticized endlessly. It makes for a healthier relationship when you're ready to hear and actually listen to all dissenting opinions.
