  1. still waitin' on two sigs, @Wasty @Daniel will you have them done anytime soon?
  2. sigs due tomorrow @boubabi @Wasty @Beketov @Daniel
  3. I can see why you made the H white instead of blue, to get better contrast off the render. Still a little odd to read though. The text work overall is sick. Great lighting. Love the render effects. Awesome work as usual.
  4. I've never specified. I think it helps to keep it in the VHL theme but I'll accept sigs that aren't specifically related.
  5. @Wasty @Beketov @Mr.Baller @solas @boubabi @Daniel and myself move on. Sig theme this week is Nature. Try to use some nature elements in your sig. I'll let you guys decide how much or how sparingly you want to use the nature elements. Sigs are due by Saturday the 12th at midnight.
  6. Really love the distorting effects here. The pixel drag effect on the left side, as well as the liquefy on the right. Very well done. Colouring is very nice as well. No complaints for the text. Only thing I'd suggest is to maybe play with the lighting a bit more. Even just some soft black and white brushing set to Soft Light could help a bit. Excellent sig nonetheless.
  7. Agree with everything Beketov said. Another thing I'd add would be to maybe decrease the spacing between letter on the 'doughty'. As of now it seems a bit too articulated. Good render placement. With the colouring, I think if you wanted to keep the sepia, I'd add some splashes of blue. Take a soft round brush on 70-100 opacity, and set the colour to a medium blue. Click in a few places, then set the layer to Color Dodge. Adjust the opacity of the layer and erase anything that doesn't really work. Could really add a bit of a dynamic to the sig.
  8. I like the gritty, grungy feel. Gives it an old-school vibe. Not a big fan of the watch face stock taking up most of the top-left, it's a bit distracting. Could maybe have used some distorting or blending. I like the font of the 'jalopski', but the 'kevin' doesn't fit as well. Rule of thumb is usually to use either all-caps or all lowercase for each word in the text. In this case I think that rule would have helped. Good work overall.
  9. One of the best sigs I've seen in a while. So much attention to detail, excellent work. If I had to find one issue it would be that the grey seems a bit to light. I might tone down the exposure layer or whatever is keeping it that luminosity down a bit. Keep it up.
  10. Seems like the first couple steps of a sig to be honest. I like the direction the colouring could go, but the whole thing is just so dark. I think if you wanted this to pop a bit more, a yellow/green outline around the render would have really helped, or maybe just some geometric stuff going on in the background.
  11. Soupy. Effects are pretty dope. Lens flare is quite lens flarey. I like the lighting and text is good. Not a whole lot to comment on here otherwise. Good sig overall.
  12. Agree with Beketov here, the overall work on the image is great. Colouring, lighting, overall look are all great. As mentioned above, text isn't perfect. Something like Helvetica or maybe even Times or Georgia, keeping it thin and simple, I think would have worked better.
  13. I was really happy to see this pop up in my inbox. So slick.Great subtle stock work, lighting is great, text is sweet. Could use a bit of blending, maybe a bit of blur on the bottom left, not overall good. Great sig.
  14. Echoing above, font choice is good. Render is a little dark for my tastes. I like the composition, balance wise. Good amount of empty space and focal. Stock work is cool. Looking forward to seeing more from you!
  15. From my original post I wrote this: "...As usual you can decide what this means to you. The themes are more to give some direction and inspiration. Some outside-the-box examples could be interesting canvas sizes/shapes, some abstract work, whatever" I gave no specific requirements, and I was intentionally vague. The sig in question has some interesting geometry as the main render effects, and I see no reason to disqualify it.
  16. Wasn't ever specifically required
  17. love the text on this one. Colouring and texture is great too
  18. I'll close the voting on Saturday so you can all use your sig for a PT this week if you wish.
  19. Vote for all that you think should move on. Remember to vote for both groups.
