Has to be posted, yeah. But there's nothing on a NTC being waived or w/e. Tricky, sticky.

  14. The VHL all-star day is always a prestigious time during each regular season. For starters, it's a time where a majority of those who aren't selected get a much needed day of rest and allow themselves to visit family, friends or their comfy couches. For a select few, it's almost a privilege and honor. If you are one of the very few who are selected to play on this day, it means you're either doing something right or bending over backwards for the right GM. The S53 VHL and VHLM all-star games have gotten underway for the season and like a majority of years, is focused heavily on by the media, fans and those involved in the game. This year, we see teams Boubabi and Gorlab go head to head in the VHL all-star game to see which group of players can say they "bested" the best. Of the 20 players and 6 goalies, a majority of VHL organizations got to see a player represented at the VHL all-star game, however, some were more fortunate than others. For the Seattle Bears? They were represented by 6 of their own players in Filipe Rodriguez, Jeff Hamilton, Guntis Petenis, Zack Parechkin, Pietro Maximoff and Jakab Holik. Each of these players have had fairly strong seasons. Some had started off hot, simmering down later on. Some have continued a consistent pace a majority of the way through the regular season. Either way, all of these players are well deserved VHL all-stars and will likely play some big games for the respected teams during the match up. The Seattle Bears are currently sitting in first place in the league with a record of 49-9-2. They've scored the 3rd most goals, let in the least amount of goals, and are 1st in the league for their power play and penalty kill. When looking at their roster, their statistics and on-ice play, it's easy to see why the Bears have had such a strong season. Each of the players who were selected to represent the Bears at the game have played a huge role in the Bears success, while they also seen play from a couple others who easily could have went to the games as well (Sven Wolf, Bogdan Podarok). For those who did make it, let's take a closer look under the microscope and give quick reasons as to why each player got chosen for the games. Jeff Hamilton We started off with Jeff Hamilton for pretty good reason. He's arguably one of the best defenseman to ever play the game. Call it Bear biased, but we call it the truth. The guy is legendary and while his statistics and cup winnings may not exactly show or back that up, we like to think his character, loyalty and how he plays on the ice and in the locker room does. Hamilton decided to come back for a reunion tour with the Bears prior to hanging up the skates and hasn't done too bad of a job while repping the Bears jersey one last time. He's played a pretty well balanced game offensively and defensively this season and it's one of the reasons he's in the games. 53 Games Played - 22 goals, 51 assists, 73 points, +44, 67 H, 77 SB Pietro Maximoff Pietro Maxmioff was acquired this season by the Bears and was looking to continue his previous season's play during S53. Safe to say. S53 started pit that exact way. Pietro was ocne again tearing up the league and destroying everything in his path. Multiple 4 and 5 point nights, the team really depended on him to bring in the points and wins. While things have slowed down and his point total may not be what it was after S52, his year is still going strong and you will easily see him eclipse 100 points and likely 50 goals this season. 53 games played - 37 goals, 52 assists, 89 points, +37, 37 H, 53 SB Filipe Rodriguez This one is one of the best to see because it's so deserving on so many levels. Rodriguez made a switch from defenseman to forward (center) in the off-season to help out his team. Displaying huge loyalty, sacrifice and commitment to winning, that's almost enough for some sort of recognition. Following that bold and courageous move, he's managed to put up some pretty damn good points while also being able to lay the body around the ice big time. Rodriguez is the 3rd biggest hitter on the team and also sits 3rd for points and goals. 53 games played, 33 goals, 42 assists, 75 points, +28, 183 H, 28 SB Zack Parechkin This is a name you see again and again in the VHL all-star games every season. Parechkin has been one of the most dominant players in the last 8 seasons and has spent it with the Toronto Legion hoisting cups, individual awards and really making a legendary name for himself that no one will forget. During the off-season, he was moved to the Seattle Bears and while his play may not be quite what it was in Toronto, he's still turning heads, wrecking people on ice and being a huge players on the offensive statistics sheet. One of the more physical players in the league, and a forward to match, it's safe to say Parechkin won't just be killing people with goals in the game. 53 games played, 32 goals, 41 assists, 73 points, +41, 250 H, 28 SB Jakab Holik One of the toughest, if not toughest, position to play and Holik generally makes it look pretty damn easy every single night. Holik has been one of the biggest players to the Bears for seasons and seasons and while it's not surprise that he's representing the Bears, he extremely deserving of the award and isn't some light award handed out in potentially some other goalie cases due to the lack of skill tendy's. Holik sits 3rd for Sv%, 1st for GAA, 1st for minutes played, 2nd for shut outs and 1st for wins overall with currently 42 on the year. When looking at the stats, he's arguably the best goalie in the league right now. 53 games played, 42 wins, 9 losses, 2 overtime losses, .925 SV%, 1.64 GAA and 9 Shut outs Guntis Petenis Drafted by the Bears and ever since has been a loyal, big player on their blue line - Guntis Petenis has officially made his way into an all-star game and like the others, is pretty damn deserving. While he isn't known for his offensive play and isn't in the top 10 for points among defenseman, Petenis brings a shut down style of game to the Bears each and every night and is also 2nd on the team for laying out the hits. With 33 points on the season through the 53 games, he isn't too poor on the offensive side either and still manages to chip in every 2nd game or so. 53 games played, 6 goals, 27 assists, 33 points, +46, 208 H, 68 SB 4 Wolf (+12)
  15. good choice imo
  16. While this year has not been disappointing for Sven Wolf, the young, Swedish center for the Seattle Bears, he managed to miss the voting cut-off for making his way into the VHL all-star game. Inactive plugs like AK-47 made their way in and currently league rapist Joal Jarvi. I guess that's what happens when there's only 3 players on the team and the sim still kicks out goals for that club. Anywho, Wolf is poised to bring his play to an new level, as he was seen working on his more physical side of the game and has been seen hitting the gyms a little harder. He had also taken up hitting practice with star veteran forward Zach Parechkin. We won't comment on Jarvi. We all know the least amount of players on a team and those players still have to get the points. Either way, he's having a good year. Cool to see and hope he hits some records. Just blows he retired again. As for the all-star shit.. sucks I've yet to be in it but I feel as though next year will be my year - especially with all secretive things considered. 4 Wolf
  17. Are you kidding me? He rocked that shit. #1
  18. VHLM All-star game and skills competition. The VHL and VHLM all-star game are not looked at as a game for chumps to play, nor is it lightly earned. In order to make it into these games, you need to be playing at a level, or at least near it, that no other players are playing in the league. To be better than 97% of all players in the league is a big accomplishment and this season we season a fairly strong, apparent accomplishment that is being made by a single team. The rosters for the S53 VHLM All-star game was released not too long ago and while a majority of people and fans did not comment on the situation, we hear the the VHLM Scouting site couldn't help but notice their was something abundant about this seasons list. Each team has 7 forwards, 4 goalies and 3 defenseman for a total of 14 players. On the first team, the Brampton Blades make up 5 of the 14 players. On the second team, they make up 2 of the 14 players for a grand total of 7 of the 28 players being represented by the Brampton Blades. But wait, there's more. IF you once again take a look at the first and second team again, you'll notice the Ottawa lynx also have 4 and 4 on their teams for a new grand total of 15 of the 28 players being represented by two teams. If you really want to get into it, 6 players are also from the Yukon Rush pushing the amount up to 21/28, or 75%. Players Represented by VHLM Teams 8 - 28.5% 7 - 25% 6 - 21.4% ---------------------- 21/28 players - 75% total Let's take a closer look This shouldn't come as much of a surprise to most people though. For starters, the teams make up the top 3 in the World "conference" in the Victory Hockey League minors. The Lynx are the highest of the mountain and are likely the scariest team heading into the final march for the playoffs. With 51 games played, they've only lost 5 games with a record of 46-2-3. Behind them are the Yukon Rush with a record of 35-11-4 and 74 points and then immediately behind them the Brampton Blades find themselves one point back with a record of 34-11-5. In the top 15 for offensive points, 5 players are from Ottawa,5 are from Yukon and 3 are from the Brampton Blades. Brampton Blades The Brampton Blades are having a pretty successful season and have recently found themselves on a bit of the winning side as they've found themselves climbing the standings on the daily. While they've seen strong performances from many of their big guys, offensive forwards aren't necessarily their strong suit. While Marc-Andre Lebland is playing with a high level of play, he actually did not make it to the all-star game as he was unable to attend. Taking the guys spot is newcomer, Rask Rowe. Now, while their forwards are nothing to tell mom about, their defense and goaltending is another story and they're clearly built from the net out. Marcus King takes the pipes for the Brampton Blades, and Aleksei Federov, Diego Jokinen and Roman Sokolov shut things down on the blue line. Each of these guys are very well deserved, VHLM all-stars. Roman Sokolov (D) -50 GP, 28 goals, 47 assists, 75 points, +30, 56 H, 33 SB Aleksei Federov (D) - 50 GP, 14 Goals, 40 Assists, 54 Points, +11, 66 H, 38 SB Diego Jokinen (D) - 50 GP, 13 goals, 40 assists, 53 points, +13, 82 H, 44 SB Rask Rowe (C) - 50 GP, 6 goals, 14 asissts, 20 points, +0, 208 H, 2 SB Dexter Lane (D) - 3 GP, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, +1, 3 H, 0 SB Marcus King (G) - 50GP, 34 Wins, 11 Losses, 5 Overtime Loss, 0.892 Save %, 1.56 GAA, 15 SO Verner Reinholdt (LW) - 34 GP, 2 Goals, 6 assists, 8 points, +9, 48 H, 3 SB Yukon Rush The Yukon Rush are having a very similar season to the Brampton Blades except for one thing. Their forward depth is a lot stronger than the Blades so they've seen roughly 50 more goals scored on the season than the Blades (but still 50 short of the Ottawa Lynx). The Rush have seen offensive production from pretty much their entire roster, including their depth. The team is led by Apollo Aho for points with 84 through 50 games played and Fredinamijs Krigars for goals with 40 through 50. The team has also seen great defensive play from multiple members and are also one of the biggest hitting teams this season. For goaltending, Ironside is holding down the fort pretty strong and is arguably the 2nd best goalie on the year so far. Shawn Gretzky (C) - 50 GP, 24 Goals, 22 Asists, 46 Points, +1, 88 H, Rudolph Schmeckeldorf (LW) - 48 GP, 11 Goals 24 Asissts, 35 Points, -2, 88 H Fredibamijs Krigars (C) - 50 GP, 40 Goals, 40 Assists, 80 Points, +60, 32 H, 4 SB Luca Volkov (D) - 12 GP, 0 Goals, 4 Assists, 4 Points, +22 Lyle Smallwood (D) (was a pity vote to be in all-star game - 0 pts or GP) Torstein Ironside (G) - 47 GP, 30 Wins, 15 Losses, 2 Overtime losses, .906 Save%, 1.83 GAA, 16 Shut Outs Ottawa Lynx The Ottawa Lynx are clearly the strongest group of the bunch. Aside from their amazing seasonal record of 46-2-3, they've also outscored 2nd place by roughly 50 goals and are also the only team below 80 goals let in their own net. John Locke leads the team and league in points with 126 through 51 games played (38 more points then 2nd and fellow teammate Motherfucker Sharpe). Despite not getting as many shut outs on the year as his fellow goalies, Jacob has been on fire to as he sports a 25-2-2 record and some of the better numbers in the league. If he managed a higher amount of games played, he'd likely be first in the league for goalies, but that's likely another story for another day. Simply put, the Lynx are on fire and a majority of players listed (like the rest), deserve to be heading to the all-star game. Pablo (C) - 51 GP, 4 goals, 40 assists, 44 points, +31, 78 H, 3 SB John Locke (LW) - 51 GP, 64 goals, 62 assists, 126 points, +73, 74 H, 15 SB Motherfucker Sharpe (RW) - 51 GP, 38 goals, 50 assists, 58 points, +48, 93 H, 13 SB Hudson Abbott (D) - 51 GP, 23 goals, 45 assists, 68 points, +66, 85 H, 33 SB Takashi Fujimoto (RW) - 51 GP, 9 goals, 28 assists. 37 points, +57, 63 H, 0 SB Jon Snow (D) - 12 GP, 0 goals, 1 assists, 1 points, +6, 28 H, 4 SB Fook Yu (C) - 51 GP, 28 goals, 56 assists, 84 points, +53, 231 H, 8 SB Jacob (G) - 29 GP, 25 Wins, 2 Losses, 2 Overtime losses, 0.904 Save %, 1.46 GAA, 8 SO 1200 words it says, yep. +12 (double all-star week, Aleksei Federov)
  19. cool.
