1. So we just won the cup. How do you feel? Bloody freaking great, mate. 3. Which team mate are you most proud of? Palo. He's worked his *** off all year and really deserved this cup win. 4. We sent Beau Louth off the best way we could, what does he mean to this club and to you personally? Everything. Being the GM player, he was an honorary captain of sorts. I can't think of a more fitting ending to a storied career than scoring the GWG. 5. What do you want to say to any Free Agents out there about why they should consider joining the wolf pack? You wanna win a cup? Then why would you go anywhere else? 6. What are you going to do with your day with the cup? Fill it with Wawa Chocolate Milk. Then I'll drink out of it. Repeat until I can't drink any more milk. 7. Two finals appearances in two years what do you think our chances of making it three in a row? 100%. Mark my words, we will make it back to the finals again.

For those of you that don’t recall, I said back in late July, “With 5 of the top 10 prospects being defensemen, General Manager Beaviss and co. look primed to take one in the first round… it would not be surprising to see the Wolves either trade up for a 2nd first-rounder or... to climb higher on the draft board.” Well, wouldn’t you know it, I was right. Was there a bit of insider info? Perhaps. But, regardless, I was right. Vancouver ended up trading up to 4th overall, where they took stud defenseman Jeff Downey. After this steal of a pick and the absolute robbery of a trade GM Beaviss previously made, which notably acquired him another D-man in Konstantin Mulligan, who promptly re-signed with the club, Vancouver now has 5 contracted defensemen through S69. While 4 tends to be the league-average number of defensemen rostered, the quality and depth of Vancouver’s defense are certain to help them chase a Continental Cup repeat. In fact, in the S68 Entry Draft, Vancouver only had 2 picks in the first four rounds and used both of those on defensemen. Rumor has it that those two D-men were particularly high on AGM Jagger Philliefan’s draft board, with Downey being his 2nd-ranked skater and 4th rounder Tony Bolonee ranking somewhere in the late teens, making him an incredible steal at 36th overall.

Well, I doubt many teams in recent memory have had a busier 24 hours than the Vancouver Wolves just did. Fresh off a well-deserved Continental Cup win, a first for longtime GM Beaviss, the Meute traded their star defenseman Shawn Glade, along with their S68 1st, for Toronto’s 1st in S69 and Davos’ in S70. Keeping in mind that their first would be last in this upcoming draft, Vancouver got a 1st rounder +* for a player with 2 years until retirement, not to mention facing increasing depreciation. The trade shows the quality asset management by Beaviss who, once again, pulled off the kind of move that lead his team to a Cup victory. *the asterisk here is that, while, yes, the Vancouver pick is last this year, Toronto has a very good team and could very well be later than Vancouver’s pick due to the upcoming expansion of the VHL. However, all of that speculation only matters if Toronto manages to finish high enough next year for their pick to be as late as, or later than, Vancouver’s, which is not a guarantee. So, for now, we’ll say that Vancouver added value by swapping 1sts. Words: 195

1. So we made it to the playoffs. How do you feel about our standings? I truly think we can win it all. 3. What about out of our chances of making it out of our conference? Very good. We've got some tough opponents, but we're a good team. 4. What do you think we need to do to get more pucks past Brick Wahl? I plead the 5th. 5. Who do you think has been the key to our season so far? Wolfie. Glade is a star defender, but Wolfie is an underrated stud. 6. Which player do you think will step up in the playoffs and be a difference maker for our team? My money's on MGS. 8. Which teammate are you most proud of this season? Wolfie. He's a TPE beast, and his efforts are noticeable on and off the ice.

According to a variety of sources - okay, maybe not a variety, but just sod off and read the article - the VHL is close to actually adopting a new piece of technology for once. In what some have dubbed the Biggest Tech Advancement Since the Portal (trademark pending), the hard work of app designers @DilIsPickle and @Josh, as well as numerous sexy beta testers (of which I may be one), is soon to result in a brand spanking new VHL app on the Google Play Store. While some describe the app as a glorified web browser that only lets you access VHL websites, its smooth, sleek interface, as well as helpful tabs for navigation and extra information, show the promise of the app’s near and distant future. While there are, of course, some issues yet to be worked out, word has it that the application will be officially deployed soon. My personal hope is to have a completely separate interface for the app, rather than displaying the website as is currently the case, however, these first versions are amazing to watch develop and very encouraging for the future of the VHL’s technology. When you say "are represented in the VHL Hall of Fame," do you mean players inducted? Or does that include builders? And/or award winners? Heck, all player stats since S49 are technically in the HoF, so do those count, too? but yeah, just trying to not screw the pooch on this one
