I mean it's probably not bad, will just help you reach protein goals for the day, and if you're taking too much protein you'll just shit it out. I think a lot of it is pretty fake or you don't need it at all. Only supplements I've heard good things about is like creatine/magnesium. I'm not an expert, but think basically creatine just helps ATP production so helps you get like a few extra reps when you're working out, which leads to more muscle development. Also makes your muscles store more water so you look a little bigger. Also think there's some studies saying it helps your brain. However it coulddddd lead to hairloss (some study found it increased like blood DHT levels or something, and DHT levels at like hair follicle sites is linked to hair loss, however the DHT levels in the study were still way within normal ranges. So it's probably like if you're at risk of hair loss it might speed it up a little, but there's not really any conclusive studies saying it does cause hairloss). Magnesium I don't know much about, just know anecdotally a bunch of people says it helps with sleep. Only things I take are just protein powder and creatine. From what you said about your goals, probably no need to take creatine unless you're super serious about the gym and like tracking calories, weight, volume, and getting good sleep. Otherwise your not really getting full value from it and you'll get more value from just starting to focus those other things. Personally I just use protein powder and creatine.

Wdym? Surely we can make an attribute increase by 0.38 instead of 0.3? I mean this is just essentially the same thing.

Discipline is OP if your whole team has it around ~60 or 70 with no checking. But yeah I agree that hybrid hasn't been the greatest for the league, but it is a much much healthier solution. I think it's been unhealthy in the terms of player progression for welfare players, as you'll like never have a good player now whereas pre-hybrid you still could. Which can be argued whether it's good or bad (people contributing more content/work to the league should probably have better players, but should it be impossible for welfare players to have all-star players?). I think one potential solution is just increasing ratio's by like 1.3x or something small. Would need to look into it more. In terms of build flexibility, it definitely allows for more flexible builds, but it locks people out of insanely off-meta builds (you can't ignore attributes). Wonder if we could allow TPA recalls to just target the STHS attribute instead of the hybrid attribute. Would need rules on it so you can't just recall all of your passing but might open up options.

You can get like 5 of them

idk seems like rin has a pretty decent argument. She has points on 40% of Oslo goals vs. Bennets 32%, has only 4 less goals, but also 20 more hits and 150 more SB's. So not much less offensive production with insane defensive numbers. Think the only argument is whether she deserves it cause his team sucks and numbers are artificially inflated, but she blocked 8.7% of shots against her team, while Bennet blocked 6.1% against. I think its close for sure

I mean true, but then your at least making the active decision to not rejoin, when someone can totally make the opposite decision.

I mean i imagine there's still some value in building a following of current users, because maybe in like 3 years you've quit the league and forgotten about it, then you get a random vhl post in your ig feed since you never unfollowed, and you're like "damn VHL was fun I should check out how it's doing now". Though I do agree random standing posts are not going to be driving new traffic to the site

VHLM and Recruitment are so bad right now
Nykonax replied to Zetterberg's topic in VHL League Discussion
I feel like daily or any social media posts are not the way to go. Like people have said it's just spamming irrelevant content to a few people who are autopilot scrolling. If you want to advertise I feel like it needs to be done to a large audience who is actually paying attention, which is why reddit and youtube have been so good in terms of numbers, you have a targeted audience who are already paying attention and are actively reading/watching, so they are actually hearing what is said and get interested. I think that recruitment needs to be much more focused on figuring out this method, instead of trying to manage social media. Recruitment should be looking at new avenues (new channels, twitch streams, forums, podcasts, etc), as well as figuring out how to improve retention from these avenues, since that's the biggest problem with them right now. Obviously it's been tried (new scripts and whatnot), but surely we can do better, start tracking some sort of analytics (views, retention rate, whatever), and work to improve those. I think investing effort into this instead of just shotgunning 1000 random instagram and twitter posts to the void is much more worthwhile. If you do want to do social media though, I think the focus needs to be on either tiktok/yt shorts/ig reels, since I have seen like random roblox football leagues or like minecraft hockey leagues making posts about the league, their history, recent games, and getting relatively high interactions. This can be a task for someone on recruitment to look into and see what's making this work for them. Anyways, why don't we just hire @badcolethetitan as recruitment head since he has a marketing degree, and then we just blame him for all the problems.
