Season 75 VHL Draft Lottery Date: Friday, October 30th, 2020 Time: NOW! Welcome to the S75 VHL Draft Lottery, the only thing more anticipated than the US election. If you need a refresher on the draft lottery rules: *An additional reminder that, should any subsequent lotteries be needed after 1st Overall has been decided, the odds will change depending on the winning team i.e. Should a team with 10% odds of winning the lottery win 1st Overall, their "tickets" will be removed from the lottery and the following lottery will be conducted as odds of x/90, rather than x/100. Onto the odds for the Season 74 Draft Lottery. At the conclusion of the Regular Season, prior to the Lottery Tournament, the odds began as: With the conclusion of the inaugural Draft Lottery Tournament, congratulations (or condolences) to Warsaw for winning said tournament, the final Draft Lottery Odds are as follows: See VIDEO HERE. The warning is for the future of this thread, not what's already in it.

I just set everyone’s theme to the new one instead of getting the hate for that

A new theme is available for the VHL Forum. We've been working on getting it ready since the forum update the other day. Those of you who frequent the SBA forums will find it familiar. We of course checked with the admin team over at the SBA before going ahead with it and we appreciate them giving us the OK to use it as well - it's easily one of the best themes available at the moment and as a plus, some added familiarity across the two communities can only benefit the affiliation. Key features of this theme is the ability to seamlessly switch between dark/light mode and the ability to customize some colors to your liking. You can do both of these things using the icons at the top of the page (or right below the banner on mobile). This'll be the default theme going forward but Black VHL will still be available. If you come across any odd colors or anything just let me know here

While certainly misguided, thank you to whomever graced the nominations with my name

i was wondering that myself but probably just to preserve the per season stats since thats the biggest pain in writing the articles

as a heads up, that one was started and not completed - so imagine you either could pick it up where the last person left: https://vhlportal.com/hof/inductees/150 Or start from scratch

Wow I was unusually sassy in that thread, I apologize lol But in my defense I do remember being genuinely very concerned what a 4-peat would do to the league

Add the WJC Awards to the Player Page
Will replied to DarkSpyro's topic in Suggestions and Complaints
Yeah its a fair suggestion - I think i'd prioritize getting World Cup and WCJ stats on player pages first but obviously only makes sense to include awards after that -
Its hard to say.. it's a really complex project making a sim engine. I don't have much experience in that kind of area so I'm not the one to say the feasibility of it but according to the STHS site it took him 800+ hours to develop version 1.0.0 of STHS and by the time he finished V2 (the one we use) he was over 2000 hours. And this was after he was on the dev team for a different sim engine so he already had a head start. Now, there's a ton of features in STHS that we don't use or need (i.e. finances, arenas, ect) and STHS is written in an archaic language so that would cut that down.. i'd imagine we'd only need the simplest thing - something capable of storing our players/attributes, ways of assigning those players to teams, making a schedule, accepting lines and simming games. But unfortunately simming games is obviously the most complicated part, and for all its problems its probably questionable at best whether that part could be done better than STHS without actually paying a developer.

All approved for pension
-
Hey not your fault - looks like there was a small bug in the validation when someone claimed welfare before any other capped TPE in a week. Think you should be good now
-
Hello there, As of today, claims made under the James Platts Welfare Program or VHL Pension Plan can be automatically claimed on the Portal in a similar fashion to Practice Facility. These claims are not required to be approved by updater's and TPE will be awarded immediately. Note: The Portal automatically determines pension eligibility by looking at a user's past and current players. Some older, returning members may find they are only offered 4 TPE - this is due to previous players not existing on the Portal or not being linked to their user account. If this is the case, contact an admin or commissioner and we will manually approve you for the pension plan. Claims made under the VHL Partnership Plan with SBA and EFL are not quite as automated, but a post in a weekly welfare thread is no longer required. These claims can be made directly in the Portal by using the new "Affiliate PT" option under "Claim Capped" and linking to your PT on SBA or EFL. These claims will continue to be reviewed and approved by updater's. Full claiming instructions and eligibility requirements can be found here. At this time, there is no changes to the monthly Affiliate Check program and those will continue to require posting in a monthly thread. Obligatory @Members (don't hate me)
