  1. Today we will highlight just a few of our very successful Marlins "candidates" who have either garnered success on another VHLM team through the most recent draft, or have already grown their big boy wings and have climbed their way up to the VHL. The Marlins have had a lot of players come and go, so not everyone is highlighted here, but keep in mind, I will likely make this a two or three part "piece" to cover everyone I can.

In this article, we're going to talk about our S67 players who were on the team that have moved on to bigger, and better things.

In Total, SDM "created" 6 eventual players who would become VHLers, they were as follows:

    Alex Pearson - Jayrad28 - 311 TPE - Prague Phantoms

    Charles Drumm - frescoelmo - 238 TPE - D.C Dragons

    Greg Eagles - greg_di - 502 TPE - Vancouver Wolves

Lincoln Tate - Tate - 545 TPE - Riga Reign

Phil Marleau - Phil - 555 TPE - Malmo Nighthawks

Scotty BigShotty - Ferdajets - 317 TPE - Prague Phantoms

As we can see here, out of the six who made it "big", three of them have hit or exceeded 500 TPE, but all of them seem to be having good careers for their respective teams. It's funny, because out of this list, four of the players from San Diego were actually waiver-wire pick-ups and the other two were draft picks. Phil Marleau ended up living up to his hype as he was our top selection in his draft and is now leading the pack of players from the Marlins in the VHL.

We're happy to see that the Marlins organization is able to produce VHL caliber players, and we hope this trend continues! We will follow-up next week with our S68 players.

  3. Hey @Kmillsy

It's awesome to see new recruits still finding us! I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins, I just kind of want to get straight down to the point, no silly talks, just real talks. We'd like you to join our team on the second line , this would guarantee you PP and PK time as well. We're a team who has had a lot of fun together who is still actively looking to grow, and be better. We want to win, but most importantly I am here as is the team to have fun. I want you to not only enjoy your experience here...but remember it

If you'd like to come join the San Diego Marlins, quote my offer and just simply say "I accept", and I'll take care of the rest.

Regardless of where you go, I hope your experience is tremendous, I'd trust you with any one of these GM's, you've got a lot of good people waiting for ya (haha).

  4. 1.The New Captains have been announced. What do you think of the choices?

"Well, I was dethroned, kind of sad about that, as I captained the team to a cup, and thought I'd at least continue my reign into this season, but I was made an assistant which is awesome and I think the choices for captain and A1 were really good too, overall we're a family and I love the choices no matter what."

    2. Any words of advice to the captains?

"You have shoes to fill, we won a cup last season, lets 2-peat with Palo at the helm!"

    3. How do you feel about the start of our season?

"50/50, from a team perspective we've had some close losses, but some good wins, personally I am not happy with my player production but that's the name of the game, when are you ever happy unless you're a superstar? I am just three seasons into my young career so plenty of time to come around."

    4. How have you been playing as of late?

"As mentioned above, not to the harsh standards I put myself in, I prefer to be a PPG player or over PPG but I am just not even close to that right now, I want better for myself."

    5. Do you think we are doing the right things in order to succeed this season?

"I do think so, we've drafted good, we've made lowkey trades that seem to be panning out for us and a core that is growing together. If we can keep up the excellent work ethic we have and push through obstacles, we'll be good again."

    6. If you could change one thing about your game what would it be?

"Just being able to play more offensively, honestly. I am playing max minutes I can, I have the opportunities but I am not converting, that part of the game is personally struggling for me."

    7. What are you most proud of in your ability to play the game

"I'd like to say my two-way ability, I am capable of playing both ends of the ice and making sure that everything is taken care of at all times."

    8. What has been the hardest thing this season to get over from the last.

"We won the cup, and getting out of that mentality is something to overcome. We won...last season but this is a whole new season with new games to be played, and we need to get back into a new mentality."

    9. What advice would you give to the rookies?

"If you try your best, update, show your loyalty and activity, your time of greatness will come. Everyone started as a rookie, you have to at some point, but you'll get there, and its a glorious feeling when you do!"

    10. What do you think about your early role this season?

"I'm happy with the opportunities I am given, unhappy with the results as mentioned prior, but just so happy the team believes me enough to give me the chances they have."

    Hello there, @efiug

I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins, and a 11 year veteran of the VHL. I've been around the block and I've done a lot as my time as GM, and this time around is no different. Since the Marlins have existed, which is now the third season, we've made it to the playoffs both seasons and this season will be no different.

We'd like you to join us splitting starts as our 1A/B goalie (we run 1A/B not starter or backup)... but we here at the Marlins franchise reward activity, so with activity will bring reward.

We are also a very team-oriented, active and fun group, our LR is very active and there is tons to do, tons to learn.

If you'd like to join us here in San Diego, quote this offer and accept it, we'll be happy to have you aboard.

If you choose to go elsewhere, enjoy your experience and have a great time!
