Hi all I am Berocka and as most of you all know the only thing of any importance about me is that I am Australian. With this I bring a bit of fun to the Mississauga (A name I can not pronounce) Locker Room with an Australian Quiz every season. This quiz is to have a bit of fun and to teach some people about the land down under, or as Glowy calls it the land that doesn't exist. Now during the time since I made the first quiz in s66 everyone has always had fun and no one has broken the one rule. Now, if you are a trivia person you would know what that one rule is. Do not Google the answers!

So this is S69 the "meme" season as it has been dubbed and it appears nothing is sacred anymore. A waiver signing at the trade deadline for the Mississauga Hounds has ruined this. That person is notorious around the league as being a troll. Mind you this quiz has successfully happened without cheating whilst having Hulk Hogan participate each season.

@Dil has ruined the quiz and cheated, mind you he is not even good enough at cheating to get 10/10. So I would like everyone to shame Dil down below.

Keeping up the draft bust trend, at least I'm a good LR presence (which is why Olsen was drafted FYI)

Hello I don’t know any of you and I don’t play this game and am not part of this forum but I believe that you are the highest quality human being for recognizing how wonderful Glowy is. We met on RP forums and became great friends, and Glowy is my beloved and dear internet child, and you are all lovely for recognizing such a special person.

I wouldn't be nearly as active if it wasn't for @GlowyGoat. I enjoyed the league at the start but they got me into many other activities and discords around the league that I got sucked in. I can only hope I can do half the job Glowy has done in retaining and engaging players.

The unsung hero of the Mississauga Hounds.

There is one player who has kept the locker room in Mississauga going strong. One member who is not paid any TPE and has no as per the VHL. This member puts so much time and effort into the team even though their player will usually go under people's radar as they don't earn much. It's not the earning rate that makes this person so liked by the Hounds or the players build. It's the member themselves that everyone likes and appreciates.

I'm sure if you are one of the players who have been on the Hounds you know exactly who I am talking about. The member is none other than GlowyGoat.

Glowy is a perfect locker room manager not only will they answer any questions that arise in the locker room. But Glowy will go out of their way to make sure that everyone is enjoying the league and being as successful as possible.

It is hard to quantify the amount of work and effort Glowy puts in to the Hounds. There are no stats to show the amount of people they have helped or the retention they have assisted with. It's quite hard to show the effect they have had on the locker room as a whole.

When put as a press conference question who would you put as GM of the Hounds if Gustav was unable to do the job a lot of players picked Glowy. It shows that this person puts so much time and effort into making the Hounds a great place. They help keep conversation flowing, create jokes and create an atmosphere where everyone feels included and able to speak their mind.

Glowy has had 3 players so far and Gustav and myself have tried as hard as we could to draft Glowy each time. I know that one of their players was drafted in the VHL just for the locker room presence.

I just wanted to let all of the VHL know what a great person Glowy is. They are definitely my top unsung hero of the VHL website, I don't know how many people know of Glowy. I don't know how many people have witnessed the greatness that Glowy can bring to a team but I wish you all could.

I honestly don't think there could be another member that I could write a full media spot about and be genuine the whole way through.

Glowy has won, locker room presence award at least once whilst playing for the Hounds. But more importantly has won the prestigious 2nd best Australian award ⅔ times.

If your locker room needs a pick me up and you need a great defender in the upcoming draft I wouldn't look passed Glowys player.

So thank you for reading this I have also created a Glowy Goat signature cause why not.

Thank you Glowy for being an incredible human. Best of luck with the overthrowing of Gustav I hope you find a suitable volcano.

GlowyGoat got a reaction from DarkSpyro in Aleksandra Olsen Junior Review [2/2]
    Aleksandra Katrin Olsen
    Age 18
    5’10, 155 lbs
    Vestmanna, Vestmanna, Faroe Islands

Sandra Olsen’s hockey career began not in her home country, which sports no youth hockey leagues, but in the country of Denmark. Ice rinks were in short supply before her family moved to Denmark permanently, so she made do with street hockey in what passed for the streets of Vestmanna, a town of only 1,200, where she quickly became the best of the players. Beyond hockey, she dabbled in the sport of handball, extremely popular in her country, though her true passion would always lie on the ice.
While she found little opportunity to skate on a rink during her time on the Faroe Islands, she always made it a point to skate on any frozen body of water she could find, to improve her skating as best as she could in a country with no ice rinks. Despite the lack of ice hockey opportunities, Sandra made it a point to practice every other skill of hockey by any means necessary, playing both street hockey and field hockey at varying points of the year, and devoting the families basement to puckhandling drills.

On Sandra’s 11th birthday, the family moved to Denmark, and her ice hockey career truly began. While she wouldn’t stay in the Danish system for long, women’s hockey in Denmark is unpopular to the point of providing few options for young players, Sandra quickly grew to be one of the best young players the league had ever seen, before eventually leaving for the SDHL in Sweden shortly after turning 14.

In Sweden, Sandra first played with Hässelby Kälvesta HC, finding her feet in a lower Swedish league that quickly proved insufficient to her skills, though she would remain with them for the following two years. Most recently, from age 16 to now, Sandra has played for the Women’s division of the renowned Swedish club Djurgårdens IF where she has continued to develop her game. Initially relegated to a third pairing powerplay specialist due to her passing skills, Sandra’s endless desire to improve has only led to her gaining more ice time over the past two seasons, as she’s forced herself into being one of the key players on the team. While in Sweden she was scouted by several CWHL teams before that league ceased to exist, as well as NWHL and RWHL teams, but has decided to try her luck in a the mixed-gender league of the VHL, to prove that she’s just as good as any of the men playing there.

Welcome back to the third installment of S70 Draft Profiles! I figured that after awhile, the series would get stale, so this week I tried to switch it up a bit. Before I delve further into this, here are this week's rankings:

    Edwin THE Encarnacion -
    Mikko Lahtinen -
    Odin Omdahl -
    Jacques Lafontaine -
    Damien Wolfe 1
    Jimothy Frost 1
    Gabriel Gutzwiler -
    Iangenere Risteneen New
    Dick Cheezy 1
    Aleksandr Aleksandrov 2

Now, you may be wondering what the DC Dragons have to do with a group of prospects that haven't even been drafted. But the thing is, the Dragons aren't the topic of discussion today. Today, we put the spotlight on another DC, Dick Cheezy, also known on the forum as @goldenglutes. Ask, and you shall receive. I asked a few questions to goldenglutes to make a more in-depth prospect review than my normal 3 brief profiles every week.

    Dick Cheezy - C - 62 TPE
Dick has been a steady earner of TPE so far, and can be counted on for around 8 per week. His ceiling may not be sky high, as he has told me "[He thinks he'd] like to eventually become a contributing part of a VHL team, but [he] definitely [doesn't] aspire to be a first liner or anything." But what gives me confidence about him, is that his floor is pretty high, given his activity in the Hounds LR, and he "only joined this league to be a part of the community." This means that while he may not become a superstar, it is likely that he will stick around on the site, and become a contributor for whoever he plays for. Also, his activity on the LR makes for a good character to have on your team.

Dick's build is one based around reliability. He is great defensively, and is able to make quick transition passes to help the team get up the ice as efficiently as possible. He is also smooth on his skates, always providing his teammates with an outlet option, or being able to create room for himself with the puck in both ends of the ice. His faceoff ability is a nice bonus too. The 16 year old has started his rookie VHLM season off with 2 goals, and 3 points in 10 games. What's more impressive is that he has 28 shots, so if his shooting percentage goes up even a bit, expect to see a nice boost in those numbers sooner rather than later. This has also been done getting second line minutes with the Hounds, so he has been contributing well in limited ice time.

I asked goldenglutes how Dick's VHL career came to be, and he had this to say:
"For the first 15 years of his life, Dick Cheezy was just a regular guy, going about his day like any regular guy would. However, one fateful day in November, his friend Aleksandra Olsen told him to try out this hockey thing. Dick obliged, but only on the condition that he get drafted to the same team as Aleksandra so as to not feel lonely. When it actually happened, Dick was in disbelief, and he was forced to strap on some skates and play as the second line center for Mississauga. It was all a very traumatic experience for him, and sometimes he wishes he could go back and be a regular guy again."

    A truly heartbraking story.

Despite his past traumas, he now has aspirations to win a cup this year with the Hounds. In my entirely unbiased opinion, I believe that it is almost inevitable that he achieve this. A shoutout from both myself and goldenglutes goes out to @GlowyGoat, for managing to bring a new, exciting member to the league. I'd also like to shoutout goldenglutes himself, for taking the time to answer my questions.

Tune in next week for more prospect profiles!

    1. You can be teammates with any one Hounds player of your choosing in the future. Who is it and why?
    Aleksandrov. He's a cool guy.
    2. Hounds alumni now hold either GM or AGM positions in Minnesota, Ottawa, Yukon, Halifax, and, most recently, Mexico City. Which one should we pick as our archenemy?
Halifax isn't a real city - Aleksandra Olsen
    3. You can have any job in the league. Which job do you choose, and why?
Oh god please don't give me a job again can I be an AGM who does nothing like last time?
    4. What is a question you wish I would have asked here, and what would be your answer?
Why is Gustav so lazy? Answer: he's too busy being a communist dictator.
    5. The VHLM has a shallow draft pool this season. Is this good or bad for the Hounds, who have a ton of picks?
Bad it means Gustav can't skip out on players who want to be here like he usually does you coward.
    6. How does your player plan to spend their last week of freedom before the season kicks off?
    Drinking with Aleksandrov.
