  1. REPORTING FOR DUTY - 1ST EDITION

WHAT`S GOOD EVERYONE!  As we all know, VHL draft has ended and we saw a lot of young talents and prospects drafted. That is why I decided to write about players that I think will thrive in VHL from the start. And the first one on the list is a player that I thought would be taken in the 1st round but fell to 12th position and now is a part of New York Americans - his name is ACL TEAR.

VHLM CAREER - looking at ACL`s VHLM career the offensive numbers are not the most impressive, but the defensive numbers are ridiculous. This man had more than 200 hits (202 to be precise) and 104 blocked shots. He loves to play with a lot of energy and will look to end every shift with a big hit on his opposition. In his first season, he played only 12 games and had 36 hits. But in his sophomore season, he was a big part of Ottawa Lynx team. He and his team got to the VHLM finals where they lost to Philadelphia Reapers in 5 games. That was one of the most interesting and best finals I had seen in a long time. Even though he only had 11 goals and 16 assists in the regular season, he was a plus 22 which shows his qualities in the defensive end. In my opinion, his biggest strength is his energy levels. He comes out in overtime with the same speed and the same energy as he did in the first minute of the first period.

WHAT MAKES HIM GREAT? First of all, this man is a 6`8, 250 pounds monster. And when you see him skate - it seems impossible to skate that fast with a frame like that. He should be an Avenger, not a hockey player because ACL TEAR looks like Hulk that was bitten by the same spider as Peter Parker and now he has some crazy spider senses. Imagine being a defenseman that is going after a puck at the boards and you see this monster coming your way and when he hits you - that board glass shatters faster than the glass in Stone Cold Steve Austin entrance song. And when he gets the puck and holds it - there is a bigger chance moving Putin out of the president`s chair than this man off the puck. So if he keeps getting stronger, keeps his aggression up and in the offseason can work on his offensive game, I think that next season he will be one of the best players on the New York team. Imagine if ACL TEAR has a shot that is as precise as Panarin`s, he might get a 7 year - 81.5 million dollar contract ( oh and around 45 - 50 goals as well).  And if hockey does not work out for him, he can just replace Iron Man and mess with Thanos.  Because if ACL is saving our asses from Thanos, I ain`t scared.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE TO EVERYONE THAT READ THIS. I would like to hear what you think of the 1st Edition of SweetMike Sweet Report. It was fun and I LOVE YOU ALL, SEE YOU SOON BOYS.

Here we have it: the last press conference of S66!

    1. This was the first season for many of you, and one of the first for all of you. What stood out about it?

    2. What are your goals for your player in the VHL?

    3. The VHLM Dispersal Draft is happening soon, and it may have happened already by the time you read this. Do you have anything to say to our new draft class?

    4. Would you consider your time here a success? Why or why not?

    5. Name one obscure record that you believe you can say, with absolute confidence, that your player has set.

    6. If you were offered every job there is in the league, but could only choose one, which one would it be and why?

    @Rayzor_7 @HulkHogan @cody73 @No_Dangles @GlowyGoat @DoktorFunk @mmarcoux98 @SweetMike666 @maximlab @Cran @Viknegar @NavyCanuck @raghas @HanManHimself @berocka @hartfordhitmen @aCrypticPancake

    1. The best thing was all the people that helped me to understand how VHL works and how to make your player better. It was not only your teams GM but other players.

    2. In the VHL I want to become the best defender and show my skills and eventually win the cup.

    3. Keep grinding, meet new people and do the best you can.

    4. Yes, I think it was a success. I showed my skills, met new people and our team got to the playoffs.

    5. The only record I am sure I set was the most jokes told in the locker room.

    6. Probably AGM because all the GM`s in the league seem really smart so it would be a great opportunity to learn from them.

Review: Woah that was something. For a guy who's Latvian your English is really good. The biography had some funny parts (especially that last part about the Oilers.) Nice to see a guy from that region definetely a 1st for me. I’m not sure if it’s my vision but the font zise is kind of small and you should put it on default or something. 6.8/10

Thank you for reading it and giving some pointers on how to get better. It was really fun writing it. By looking at it now, font size should have been bigger.

  4. An extraordinary story about a small, skinny boy that got to live his dreams far away from home.

    Childhood

It all started 19 years ago in Cocos Islands in Indian ocean, where a young women gave birth to a handsome child and named him Khalabib. Khalabib was never home - he enjoyed staying outside, especially at night, when he was looking for wildlife in the jungle. We all know that jungle comes alive at night and so did this young mans love for the beautiful game we call hockey. When young Stiopic was awake at night, he and his father turned on TV and suddenly he saw something that he had never seen before - an ice. Suddenly his face changed and he asked his father: "What is that?!?!" From that moment on he knew that he wanted to be a hockey player. But there was a small problem - he lived in an island that was so cloce to the Equator that the coldest days were +25 Celsius. As he was not able to play hockey, his dad got him rollerskates for his 7th birthday. As young Khalabib Stiopic started to attend to school, he sat next to a boy that was obbsessed with running. He could run for hours and hours and not get tired. This was a blessing in the sky - Khalabibs dad owned a large resort chain in Cocos islands, so both boys had a chance to do what they love - Khalabib could rollerskate around the streets in the resort and his friend could run. After couple of months his friend bought rollerskates as well and they changed their roles - now Khalabib was running. Both of them had hockey sticks  - Khalabib`s friend loved being a goalie. And only few know that Khalabib`s friend was Carter Hart. This is when both of them understood that they will do everything they can to become great hockey players.

    Canada

At age of 12, Khalabib`s dad offered his son a chance to move to Canada to pursue his dream to become a hockey player. Eventough it was hard, he believed that this is a sign from God and he has to take this chance because the second may never come around again. So at age 12 young Khalabib moved to Canada, to Edmonton. From day one he became a huge Oilers fan (which was not as fun as he thought it would be). Young Khalabib had problems in Canada - the cold weather. This man was used to living in tropical climate. But now in Canada it is cold, you come out of the apartment and all you can see is cars and large buildings. But after few months there Khalabib saw that Canada is a beautiful country that is diverse and even the cold in winter couldn`t stop Khalabib Stiopic from going out and exploring this beautiful country.

    Hockey and only hockey

From day one Khalabib was all in with his dream of playing hockey. The coaches saw a young talent that was fast as lightning and had a vision of an eagle. In his first year playing in Edmonton for U-14 team as a defender he had 17 goals and 53 assists in 34 games. He was outstanding and became the best player on the team in no time. But as the years went on, he started to show one of his weaknesses - his small frame was not able to keep up as well with other hockey players. He was still producing pints while playing with U-16 team, but now he had some difficulties defensively - when the puck was at the boards, he would get showed off of it very easily. After his second season Khalabib changed hi training regime - he was trying to go to the gym 4x a week, but those were the worst training days because he hated them. But after few weeks Khalabib discovered that he loves leg days. So he had an idea - if I can get my legs and hips really strong, I would not get easily thrown off the puck. So this young man prioritised leg days. As the next season came, his coaches were shocked - he was much stronger than before but still was light and fast. Ofcourse, he would still get bullied at the boards or in front of the net, but the opposition had to make great effort to get him moved. After this season, Khalabib had a chance to play with junior team. And he took that chance.

    Showing signs of greatness

In 2014-2015 season Khalabib played with junior team. In the offseason he still trained the same as he did all the other years before. But now the men he ws playing against were less muscular but they had the thing called MAN POWER and they could get to Khalabib easily. But Khalabib was ready for this and he had a smart idea in mind. As they are much stronger, I can talk trash to them and when they get mad I can earn power play for my team. This was a good plan on paper. On ice, it was a bit different. Those strong players that had 30 pound advantage were veterans and knew when to hit or slash when referee was not able to see. So, he decided to do the same thing but when he was closer to refs. All I can say is that his startegy worked really well. But this strategy was really painful. But thats the player Khalabib Stiopic is - he will do anything for his team.

    Nightmare as an Oilers fan

In his first season with his Junior team, they won the cup. On 30th of June they decided to celebrate their victory. In 46 regular season games, Khalabib had 8 goals and 39 assists. In play offs - 3 goals and 7 assists in 16 games. As we all know, Oilers drafted Conor McDavid that year. That means that the boys had to celebrate that as well. But when Khalabib woke up the next morning he thought he was inside of a nightmare. The Oilers had signed Milan Lucic for 7 years carrying 6 million dollars. And this is the nightmare that hunts Khalabib till this day. He played for his Junior team for 3 more season until he was drafted in VHLM with 77 overall pick. In 4 seasons he played 149 games in regular season - 31 goals and 127 assists. In 29 play off games - 11 goals and 17 assists.

Khalabib`s road to VHLM was not the easiest but he wanted to show that as long as you are willing to do everything it takes to make your dreams come true, it is possible. And hard work will always outwork the talent. Look out for this young man in the future because he is ready to show his best.

P.S. In real life I am not an Oilers fan. I am Sahrks fan. so I like to make fun of the Oilers.

@SweetMike666 well this would have been nice to have foreseen before we traded you...no hard feelings, though--it's good to see you're back, for sure! I hope you'll find the league a great place and I hope you're able to have a successful career!

Sorry that it happened like that - may and june was rough for me with studies and health problems. You never know - maybe someday we`ll end up on the same team.

I feel you, I'm French-Canadian and while I speak a lot of English, I still get my words mixed up from time to time haha. Where are you from? is this profile originated from you in terms of Country, etc?

Yeah that`s true. I am from Latvia. This profile is just a part of my imagination - I was trying to make it as fun as possible.

  7. Player Name: Khalabib Stiopic

    Age: 19

    Position: D

    Height: 72 in.

    Weight: 185 lbs.

    Birthplace: Cocos (Keeling) Islands

    KHALABIB STIOPIC

Khalabib Stiopic was born in Cocos Islands where it is not possible to play hockey. His father is a rich businessman that runs a resort company and he helped his son live his dreams and when Khalabib was 12 he sent him to Canada to play hockey. From day one he was fast on his skates and very strong on his legs. Right now he is looking to become one of the best young defenders in this league.

    PROS

Speed - Stiopic has always loved running. During his time in Cocos island he loved running barefoot around the beaches near his house. By doing that, he strenghtened his foot muscles which helps him to have better acceleration and we can see that on the ice as well. He likes to start the offense from his own end and dish out great first passes.  Not only is he really fast, he knows when  is the right time to slow down. Overall, his speed can make big problems for his opposition.

Defense -  Khalabib plays as a 2 way defender. He loves attacking, especially when he has the puck and he has great speed, but Khalabib always remembers to be back on the defensive end. His shotblocking is really good - in his rookie season he had 127 blocked shots, which was one of the best in his team. Stiopic loves aggresive game so he loves to make big hits on his opposition - he had 98 hits in his rookie season. His speed is the biggest helper on the defensive end. It helps Khalabib to get to the puck first and dump it out of the defensive zone. His defensive game can only grow and next season he will show big improvments.

Passing - in my opinion Khalabib Stipic`s greatest attribute. He is showing elite passing that is similar to Erik Karlsson or Oliver Ekman Larrson. He is always looking for a long break out pass that can send his winger one - on - one with goalie. Those passes rearly are unprecise and come out as icings. In his rookie season Khalabib had 34 assists in 74 games. You can see in games he has played he has great vision, he keeps his calm in his own end and keeps it simple, but if the opposition is going for a line change he will immediately find his teammate for a breakaway.

    CONS

Strenght - Khalabib Stiopic is not your tipical hockey player. He 6 foot, 185 pounds. Looking at Khalabib from the side he would look more like a 400 meter runner or a football player rather than a hockey player. He has strong but skinny legs and Khalabib only has 6% body fat. This helps him to faster than everyone else on the ice but he is loosing a lot of battles one - on - one at the boards where stronger players can push him if the puck only because they are weighing much more. In addition to this, Khalabib has never loved going to the weight room, but as he grows older he understands the importance of it and in this offseason is planning to gain much needed weight but still keep his speed.

Discipline - Stiopic always has loved a game that is fast and physical. He loves to make big hits but on lot of occasions he cannot keep his cool. He has always been a hothead and he loves to talk trash to other players. This poften leads to Khalabib making bad decisions that end with a minor penalty. Most of these penalties are after altercations with other team`s  players in his own defensive end. He loves to get trashed talked and will always try to have the last word. And this last word can end up with a 2 minute penalty, like interference or slashing.

Consistency - Khalabib has some stretches when he is playing well, keeping his cool and making great plays in both ends of the ice. But his biggest weakness is his inconsistency on the ice. He came in this league as a promising young talent, but after some bad stretches in his career he got traded. After the trade his consistency has gotten better but still he tends to have long cold stretches when he looks like a completely different player. On of the cold stretches happened right at the start of the playoffs where he only managed to get 1 point in 4 games and was -9 on the ice. But Khalabib is working with himself to become the greatest version that he can possibly for the entire season.

Khalabib Stiopic is a young player that has a lot of potencial. He is determined to become better everyday. He is working hard and everyone should look out for him because he is ready to take this league by storm.
