I would have been "fine" with Vancouver TBH (bit wet there though, eh?), I did not like the Malmö part - but fortunately my name was not involved.
  2. One part of the VSN job should be to identify good articles and media spots and showcase them. Not even sure if a bonus is needed, but why not throw in a small bone there for those selected for good content. While I am at it; I personally enjoy listen to our podcasters, so if they can be spotlighted a bit now and then - and perhaps get more people doing videos and/or podcasts - that would be a good thing IMO.
  3. S68 had a great team (and a great coach, *cough*), I hope we can win this season again, and then make it a triple next.
  4. Drip coffee is the best coffee.
  5. Hey, we don't have any Russians on the team!
  6. O'Quinn, McDagg, Telker, Jubis, Wolfe and Lafontaine - a very nice mix of current and former Houston and Saskatoon players. @JohnOQuinn @Viperxhawks19 @Telkster @Jubis @Laflamme @SlapshotDragon
  7. Snow. We finally got snow here. That's when I like December. A barren, grey/brown December, with all the dark, is just so depressing. Snow makes things good. Edit: Oh, and you can light the fireplace without feeling guilty, not just to make the room cozy at night, it's actually working as intended and warming.
  8. I'm excited to see how our SSK players will perform for USA, rooting for @Garrett!
  9. Watching the WJC is like watching a training session in Saskatoon, all teams are dominated by SSK players.
  10. Saskatoon training pass.
  11. Vancouver 3-2 to break the trend above.
  12. 319 HC Davos Dynamo @ New York Americans 320 Vancouver Wolves @ Malmo Nighthawks 321 Toronto Legion @ Seattle Bears 322 Prague Phantoms @ Helsinki Titans
  13. Madrid, what a little tapas of hockey history.
  14. Saskatoon has no good picks for next season, but I'd still love you there. Strike that, I'd adore you there.
  15. With only twenty-three games to go the playoff candidates have bunched up in just the last ten games. New York looked like it would stay at the bottom of the league, picked up some pace and just a few games ago it looked like they could at least threaten Calgary - or that they were the main opposition. ....and then, suddenly (I would say), we have New York having to fend off DC (yes, Calgary is only one point off, so they're all in contention over that playoff spot). The interesting thing in these last games though will be this battle and wrestling, and possibly (hopefully not) whether Toronto can keep firm above - not that many points up to their spot for either of the three bottom teams. My personal feeling is that New York was severely under performing early season and that we are hitting our stride now, I don't think we will have to worry about losing a playoff spot, and Toronto should possibly keep an eye out not only for us but also for DC and Calgary. We're all coming for ya, eh!
  16. 1. One of our key players Guy LeGrande was recently shipped out to Seattle for Kevin Low and a 3rd, what impact does that have on our team and locker room? Let's beat Seattle, eh? But of course sad to see him go, I was hoping he'd stay. 2. On the flip side, Kevin Low joins our defensive core as a solid addition to the backend, how does he impact our roster? So far we have been winning... but no, we should be open to defence pair changes; but I would say how the lines are now have worked well - maybe that is due to our or forwards, goalie or change in defence I don't know. 3. After a long stretch of brutal games, we've recently beat out Calgary in the standings to move into a playoff position. How do we keep up our current pace of play and maintain this spot? Don't fix it if it ain't broken. Let's try this out a while and see how it goes. I don't really see any trades we could or should make, nor any necessary line-changes (from my blueline point of view, listen to the forwards). 4. Soren Jensen currently sits tied for most points by a rookie this season, how does he represent our program and where we'll be moving forwards? He's the embodiment of this young team, we're mostly S66+ and we're going to shine as long as people stick with it. 5. With only 25 games left in the season, do you expect us to move in the standings much more or hold our current position? It's between us an Calgary now, I don't think we realistically can close up to Toronto.... it's a possibility, but if we focus on outperforming Calgary we'll be fine. 6. Of the top 10 point leaders league-wide, who are you most surprised to see? I'm actually mostly surprised VHL doesn't even have a 1.5 pts/game player this season. 63 points in 47 games, eh. I do find it funny that John Madden has taken most hits. @Thranduil
  17. Only forty-five games played and the behemoth of VHLM season 69 has already mathematically secured their playoff spot. After losing game three they have had a solid win streak ever since then, taking two points in every game. When asked whether he would start saving players a bit for the playoffs, GM Peace replied, "We're not taking our foot off the pedal now!" The team is lead in points by DeYeeto, who also leads the league with a pretty decent 91 points at 2 points per game; partnered up with the league's 2nd best defender in Encarnacion. Lafontaine has played a key role in the team's succes in goal too with .905 SV% and three shutouts. The numbers speak for themselves. The first line of Nyman, Lahtinen and Foilen 92G, 121A, 213P Second line with McDagg, Stava and Ohradka 62G, 87A, 149P Third line consisting of Wolfe, Havlova and Tarantino 37G, 68A, 105P Fourth line, Wolfe, Cuddy and Blackthorn have 10G, 29A, 39P First defence pair of DeYeeto and Encarnacion 53G, 120A, 173P And the second defence pair consisting of O'Quinn and Porter 20G, 72A, 92P Several team records have already been beaten, and some more are surely possible to break by the end of the season; perhaps even placing well or beating some of the longstanding league records that exist. @Peace @Cran @Tagger @Jesse Nyman @animal74 @Aye my name jeff @diamond_ace @JohnOQuinn @Beketov @Edustava @Ren @Laflamme @Viperxhawks19 @Garrett @cjc_24 @LattimoreIsland @Samuel Kuchar @BigHARDCORE32 @Andrew Essen @ducks @Sade @Kevin Lafleur @SlapshotDragon @Jubo07
  18. Week ending December 15th December, the season of candlelight, white, red and green. 1. Saskatoon has clinched a playoff spot after only 45 games played, how does it feel?! 2. There are some team records already beaten this season; 29 points, 10 goals and 19 assists in one game (twice!). What are our chances to beat some of the season records? https://vhlportal.com/VHLM/69/TeamsRecords.php#SaskatoonWild 3. At the bottom of the league we have Ottawa, Minnesota and Yukon (who knows, maybe Vegas can start performing), who do you see being left out of the playoffs? (let's ignore poor Houston) 4. If any season, this should be the one where we have a good chance to squeeze ourselved in to some of the league records too, any obvious... any possible? https://vhlportal.com/VHLM/69/LeagueRecords.php 5. Since this seems to be a Calgary Flames-dominated locker room - and frankly I don't want to talk about Red Wings right now: - How about them Flames? Monahan, eh? (please feel to gush or be disgusted by the team of your choice though) 6. In Sweden we celebrate St Lucy (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Lucy) on the 13th of December with pastries and mulled wine - do you have anything between here and Christmas you're looking forward to (or dreading)?
