Rookie of the year award eligibility I can not find a rule for a minimum amount games a rookie can play and not burn their rookie season. The NHL rules are 25 games in any one season and not more than 6 games in any two proceeding seasons. Also a age restriction of 26 yrs. In the VHL without rules in place the rookie goalies will be the most affected by this. Some may play the required minimum 8 games and that's somehow their rookie season. I would recommend this for the VHL: ● 20+ games in any one season ● 8+ games in any two consecutive seasons. ● only considered a potential rookie for first 3 seasons. (Rookie contract) Am I the only one who thinks a rule put in place will help? I see no harm ******I'm only pushing for eligibility for rookie of the year award eligibility******** Thanks

I'm thinking of Calgary's rookie goalie Jacques Lafontain. He played the league required 8 min games last season and that's it. Following the NHL he would still be considered a rookie. Now this season he will play the max as a #1 goalie. If he tears it up is he considered a rookie this season or was the 8 games it ?

He had 17 more goals then the next highest Wrangler and 30 more points then the 2nd highest forward. I expect career highs in almost all categories. I also predict he finally breaks the 40 goal plateau. @MexicanCow123 JORDAN TONN (Defense) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 14 GOALS 48 ASSISTS 62 POINTS SEASON 70 PREDICTION 72GP 12 GOALS 54 ASSISTS 66 POINTS Wranglers newly appointed captain Jordan Tonn will look to replicate last seasons success. Calgary's top scoring defenseman and 2nd in points overall will be looking to lead this team deep into the playoffs. I am predicting similar numbers , with him finishing closer to the elusive point per game status as a Dman. @Bushito BRADY STROPKO JR. (Defense) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 14 GOALS 37 ASSISTS 51POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 9 GOALS 35 ASSISTS 44 POINTS Stropko Jr. is the Wranglers best all around defenseman. A true shutdown defender as he lead the team in shot blocks and was 3rd in hits. I predict a slight dip in points but this is not a knock on Stropko. He will most likely lead the team in most defensive categories. @DMaximus CHARLIE PADDYWAGON (Defense) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 11 GOALS 32 ASSISTS 43 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 7 Goals 41 ASSISTS 48 POINTS Paddywagon had a great season with great all around stats. He followed up his 43 point season with 1 goal 11 assists in 18 playoff games. I predict a slight dip in goals next season and an increase in assists as the forwards begin to score more goals. @Jubis RJ JUBIS (Left Wing) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 17 GOALS 25 ASSISTS 42POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 28 GOALS 23 ASSISTS 51POINTS Jubis made big improvements in his sophomore season beating his rookie season in all categories. He has established himself as a large power forward recording 164 hits last season. He had two fights, both victories. I expect his 3rd VHL season to be a slight breakout year. I predict 25+ goals. @enigmatic HIROSHI OKADA (Center) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 13 GOALS 25 ASSISTS 38 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 15 GOALS 37ASSISTS 52POINTS Okada had a big increase in points in his sophomore season. With the Wranglers having 3 centers Okada and Lahtinen are the two most difficult predictions. I believe Okada will establish himself as one of the great playmakers on the team. He finished last season strong. I'm thinking he hits right around 50 points. @Big Mac SIGARD GUNNAR (Left Wing) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 19 GOALS 18 ASSISTS 37POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 24 GOALS 31 ASSISTS 55 POINTS Gunnar will yet be another player I'm predicting to have a career year in all categories. He finished last season 2nd in goals and looks to improve on that. The energetic player has got 55+ points in him. @diamond_ace KEFKA PALAZZO (Right Wing) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 17 GOALS 19 ASSISTS 36POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 16 GOALS 23 ASSISTS 39POINTS Palazzo started last season with 8 goals in the first 10 games. It was short lived as he scored 9 goals over the next 62 games. I have him falling just short of 40 points. Kefka seems to be a streaky player if he gets hot, he will easily surpass my predictions. @Ricer13 KRIS RICE (Right Wing) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 15 GOALS 21 ASSISTS 36 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 18 GOALS 42 ASSISTS 60 POINTS Kris Rice had a great rookie season which saw him finish 2nd in scoring among all rookies. If he can establish any sort of chemistry with his linemates call the breakout police! I have him doubling his assists total. Wowsers 60 points !!!! @Beketov MIKKO LAHTINEN (Center) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 6 GOALS 14 ASSISTS 20 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 20 GOALS 15 ASSISTS 35 POINTS No doubt in my mind Lahtinen has a big increase in points. How much is the question. Calgary's depth makes it difficult to predict. Got you down for 20 goals and 35 points Lahtinen. Come out strong and prove me wrong. Could surpass all expectations and bust out for 50+points. @animal74 ONDREJ OHDRAKA (Left wing) SEASON 70 STATS 72GP 8 GOALS 9 ASSISTS 17 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION 72GP 11 GOALS 13 ASSISTS 24 POINTS Ohdraka had a solid season making the jump to the VHL. Calgary is one of the deepest teams in the VHL. The Wranglers carry a large roster and their depth had Ondrej playing behind two other left wings. I see his numbers improving and being a solid contributor for his team. If Ohdraka surpasses my expectations I wouldnt be surprised. Hes a good player. @Tagger EDWIN THE ENCARNACION (Defense) SEASON 70 STATS GP72 3 GOALS 14 ASSISTS 17 POINTS SEASON 71 PREDICTION GP72 7 GOALS 31 ASSISTS 38 POINTS I have Encarnacion making a massive jump in points. With the departure of Cody Smith I have Edwin filling those shoes. With increased ice time I think he will thrive with the opportunity. Expect big things from this guy this season. @SlapshotDragon JACQUES LAFONTAINE (Goalie) SEASON 70 STATS GP 8 6-1-1 2.45 GAA 0.916 SV% SEASON 71 PREDICTION GP 64 41-19-4 2.51 GAA 0.919 SV% Lafontaine will be heavily relied upon this upcoming season. The rookie , turned #1 goalie will most likely play the max amount of games this season. Luckily for him he has a solid defense lineup in front of him. I see Lafontaine breaking out for a big season with Calgary. Recording over 40 wins !!! TOTALS I wanted to see how realistic my predictions could be. Based on my player goal predictions this would have Calgary scoring 208 goals next season. 17 more goals then last season when they scored 191. For reference Moscow scored 250 goals last season and Vancouver 219 goals. 1 0 0 0 + WORDS
