  1. I think I got a Tier 2 in the VHL birthday one, but this nhl 22 thing is definitely the highest value raffle I've ever won lol. Thanks for the opportunity and glad it came from doing good things for the world.
  2. goal was to 30 tpe from draft to HOF challenge but accidentally got too involved and ended up max earning from the start lol
  3. unretired
  4. I feel like we have a shared IP thread for people in the same household to declare it when they create but I can't find it, so maybe I saw it in some other league. Maybe we need one of those now. So yeah, hence why the stuff relating to at the least, account creation, should be at the top of a rulebook that gets sent to a user at creation. Making an account is the first thing someone does when joining the league, seems only natural they learn the restrictions when it comes to what all you can do with accounts. Yeah, think we can all agree Kachur was a fucked up dude and leave it at that.
  5. Maybe part of what I should have also conveyed is the diversity of punishments used. Probation for league positions, PT bans, removal of job pay, temporary hiring ban from league jobs - instead of using weeks of TPE bans and/or a forum/discord suspension. From my perspective, the severity of what AJ and Alexandre did were vastly different, but both got 3 weeks TPE ban and AJ may lose his job. That's more of my concern, keep suspending conduct offenders from the league, no issues with that. Not advocating for it to not be its own post, but I think we need to make it more aware because I've seen a decent amount of "I didn't read the CoC because I'm not a dick" or versions of that. And I still question if cheating rules should be in CoC. absolutely, and same, idk what is in that welcome message and if its been updated at all recently - it should be though not ominous at all, can we get a 3rd person to moderate?
  6. ftfy, agreed with everything else you said
  7. Also as a disclaimer so it doesn't get interpreted that way, not advocating for or claiming that conduct issues are more or less severe than cheating. Both are wrong. Both are unacceptable. We do need to maybe look at whether the solution to any issue, whether it's harassment, or making multis, is simply "you can't claim tpe for 3 or 4 weeks" with some sprinkles on top of either job loss if the offending person has a job or a temporary ban. There should be a more representative punishment to the severity of the infraction, and vastly different infractions shouldn't receive the same punishment. Idk if I was clear in what I meant in the podcast (highly doubt it) but that's what I basically wanted to convey with more thought to the actual infraction. And also who is responsible for different aspects of the league's rules.
  8. Hey it's a fun Dr. Strange reference! Enjoy the shitty intro attempt using his theme, and I spent like 20 seconds editing it in so appreciate my effort. I will not entertain criticism. Small warning that shit can get dark, I reference dark stuff that came up in conversations with Kachur/Horcrux Mentions: @Shindigs (piggybacked on a rulebook related post of yours), @samx (briefly), @N0HBDY (decent amount), @fishy (really briefly but mod related stuff so figured you may want to listen) and Fong but he won't listen so won't tag. Topics: Multis Moderation Kachur/Horcrux Rule visibility and enforcement domain (confusing, but hard to summarize into a topic list) One week of claim if I even claim it. Edit: I also sniffle a lot, it's cold, leave me alone
  9. I don't waste my precious typed words on podcast related content.
  10. I'm not giving this a media spot response, but I would imagine someone who consistently posts podcasts with years of vhl experience and a wide perspective of the league would receive more engagement than those who post inconsistently and don't really rock the boat in their content as Jardy does. He does it well, and he's passionate about podcasting. That's all you need to get listeners imo.
  11. Don't think anyone is necessarily against the fact that there was a punishment, I'm just more confused how making 6 multis has the same punishment as updating a couple players for a month. Maybe the mods can see or determine at what point AJ started updating for the other accounts, but I'd think that if it was more recent as he claims, it isn't *as bad* as what Alexandre did. The family members are free to use their players once their ban ends but the Alexandre multis are getting yeeted from the league. Much more of a wide ranging impact to the community than AJ's recently turned IA family members getting a tpe ban. If they're IA, most of them will still be useful players for some E teams, but their teams still keep those players. Add on top that AJ is temporarily suspended from his GM job and at risk of losing his job completely while Alexandre has been kept on as AGM and has the avenue to redemption as stated by mods. It seems a bit hypocritical. Yes, AGM's have no pay and aren't a league appointed job, but to a team, they are the #2 in command, have portal powers, and exert a similar level of influence as the GM on the players on the team. It just seems like AJ was slapped harder for a less severe infraction, which is what some folks disagree with. Not advocating for AJ to not get punished.
  12. Regardless of whether you choose to max earn again or not, I enjoyed the couple of seasons of casually/informally competing against you for most TPE in our draft class . Do what you gotta do to make sure the league doesn't become a chore, hope you don't fade away. Send music recs pls and ty.
  13. This is actually a pretty interesting point that I called out from a different perspective - moreso the timing of recruitment and how it puts strain on our existing structure. As M GM's, we'd complain when there'd be a recruitment push that was between the end of the regular season and the M draft. I don't think it's been as large an issue recently, but I feel like there was a recruitment event a couple seasons ago that brought in players when playoffs were starting up. The issue we had this past season was that we had another large and successful recruitment ad on youtube right as we decided to contract the VHLM. It didn't make sense to me that we were going to try and get an influx of new players right after contracting the M, especially on a large channel. I don't know if I'd say that the goal is to keep the league size constant, sustainable growth is good for the league. I just think that maybe we need to be coordinating recruitment and league structure changes together instead of as two separate entities. As long as we aren't running the recruitment well dry, and we have the capacity to make room for everyone (which we have in the form of 3 leagues), I have no issue with growing the league size. As always though, we can't kneejerk react with EXPANSION every time we have a surge of new members, hence the need for more intentional and cautious recruiting.
  14. *23rd give my birthday the respect it deserves
  15. I'll do a carcast solely focused on fonzi if he wants
  16. CHARA CHARA CHARA
  17. PAPA PAPA PAPA
  18. It'd serve the same purpose for me, but more work for you. I'm fine with either.
  19. I'd be fine with one massive, total payout thread for the week, but I'd imagine that's more work for Lose to be compiling them all into totals by user. We have VHL/VHLM Fantasy Zone as claim types in the portal already, they're just hidden from users when claiming. Bringing them back and renaming the plain "Fantasy Zone" to "VHLE Fantasy Zone" would also just solve the problem with less effort needed from Lose's end, and users would still be claiming each league individually anyways. Edit: I think each league pays out at different times each week as well, depends when the games/criteria in the fantasy zone for the week get completed.
  20. Basically when updating these claims en masse, it'd be easier to have them broken up by league, as there are up to three different links used. Think of trivia updating. We can keep the payout thread open, and ctrl+f everyone through the list, because it's all in one thread. Now fantasy zone updating. We can't differentiate the three league claims from each other in the queue unless we open the link. Which means we have to open each link every time to see which of the three payout threads we need to use. If we could sort the claims by the league, then we could open the VHL Fantasy Zone post, approve all of them in one go. Then VHLE, then VHLM, instead of having to keep opening every link to see which league it belongs in.
