Hello and welcome to the S86 KGW Signature Stick Collection!  We have been hard at work with 5 special players in the VHL to create custom sticks that will help represent their style, family, city and teams!  We took their feedback and created sticks that would help them stand out throughout the season.  We asked each player what they wanted their stick to represent and then our team got to it to create something everyone would be proud to have.  We collected everything and created our product showcase, Signature Collection!  Please enjoy!

Best way to take a look is to check out the PDF as it will let you zoom in and out and let you scan the QR codes if you are on a second screen that is not your phone.  Each player has a QR code attached that will take you to a short YouTube video of their custom stick!  Try it out!

Below are the pages as images if the PDF doesn't work for anyone as well as the links to the YouTube videos for each stick.  It took me quite some time to put this all together and I appreciate anyone who takes a look, reacts or replies!  Thank you to @Shindigs, @N0HBDY, @Daniel Janser, @Arce  and @Frank for playing along!  Sorry for the wait, hopefully this is worth it!

Hello, VHL. It is officially less than a week away before I leave for Australia and I am having quite the rollercoaster of emotions. I'm excited and I'm sure it'll go fine, but I'm also nervous and all of that too. It's a pretty significant, crazy change. Either way, I can't wait to see all the beauty down under. Feb 26 at 1430 MTN we leave! For the VHL side of things, lots has been going on in the league. Trade deadline and theme week were here - one of the best time of the season. With these two things, lots to blab about. LETS GO!

My player, Mikhail Kovalchuk, made it through deadline day and remains with London. The United have had a strong season and are one of 6 teams within a bubble to try and make playoffs in the Euro division. So far, Kovalchuk is 3rd on the team for points, with 6 goals and 48 assists through 52 games played. His best season so far! The Seattle Bears made a big trade for Tavish DeGroot @rory during the Trade Deadline days. It was a trade in the works and took a little bit of time. There was a few partners other than Riga before swooped in and made things way easier. Seattle essentially sent Florida Man to Davos for a S88 1st which Seattle then shipped off for Tavish DeGroot.
"Tavish was a huge part to the team before we parted ways in the off-season. It wasn't an easy move for either side. I think both were committed to making things work. The money just wasn't there. They're a huge part to the game was play, the locker room and even the leadership of the team. I think they're going to make a huge impact for us!"

Vasile Lamb @dlamb is NOW a Seattle Bear. How crazy is that? Even with their first player I was a massive fan and I think made an attempt or two at acquiring them. This go around, the Lamb agency has brought us Vasile and the moment I heard there was even an off chance they were available, we immediately reached out notifying DCD we had the winning deal. DCD just had to figure some things out, but once they did, it worked out for everyone.
"I cannot even start to think of how I can explain how excited I am to have this deal happen for Seattle today. We were struggling a bit after a hot start to our season. Things were tight throughout the VHL for rosters and money, so moves weren't looking like they were going to happen. I've always respected and been a fan of the Lamb agency, so the moment some word got around they might be being shopped, we jumped into action. They're a very, very good player. The points, goals and shot totals they have this year is exactly what Seattle's plan of attack was. We had an overabundance of quality D. We need some firepower upfront. We ship out Florida Man (W) who was a  bit older for a price we can use to grab Tavish DeGroot. Tavish swaps from D to W. Then we acquire Vasile Lamb for Deron Nesbitt (FA at seasons end, likely to test) and a pick in a draft that is, at the moment, forecasting to be a little weaker. It was a good trade for both ways. Seattle is VERY happy with this move. I'm very excited to work for and with Vasile"

Today for the Around the League in 500 words there is much to cover.  Los Angeles is whooping serious ass, Moscow pulling away in the EU, and is Vasile Lamb the best power forward in the league?

    LA ON HOT STREAK
To say the LA Starts have made a huge turn around this season is an understatement.  On a 7 game win streak they are currently #2 in NA, 9 points behind defending Continental Cup Champions, Vancouver.

The off-season addition of tough guy, Vinny Detroit has certainly changed the culture of the club and it shows on the ice.  They check the boxes on all ends of the ice as well with Sirdsvaldis Miglaskems @FrostBeard (35 goals), stud defenseman Callum Murray @Berocka(23 goals), and Vinny Detroit @dasboot(24 goals and 250 hits).  Art Valdelay @Gustav  is crushing everything net too with a .932 GAA and 6 shutouts.

The one knock on the club is do have a short bench on defense.  Both defensemen (Murray and Scoish Velociraptor are both great but come playoff time they will have their hands full game in and game out. Either way, its great to see the LA Starts doing so well after some tough years.  Great job @InstantRockstar

    MOSCOW PULLING AWAY
Now it’s pretty normal to hear Moscow’s name year in and year out as a powerhouse in the league.  Whether through trades or draft this club just remains tough and is always in the conversation come playoff time.  This year is no different.  Riding an 8-game win streak the Menace are 8 points ahead of #2 Davos.  The EU conference kills each other and there is merely a point or two separating #2-#7 in the division which makes Moscow’s run so much more impressive.

Led on the front end by Nico Pearce @Spartan , Ronan Lavelle @Arce , and Tomas Sogaard @Brandon they have the offensive talent to make opposing defense and goalies shutter.  On Defense they have Hammer Voss @BOOM having a career year with 28 goals 44 assists 72 points in 52 games.  Fellow dman, AK92 Wit da Hoodie @hedgehog337 is a steady point producer and is bocking shots (120) at an amazing pace.  In net Matt Murdock @Acydburn is lights out as well and already has 4 shutouts.

Overall, a pretty tough team going into the second half of season.  The team has grit, scoring, defense, and more importantly experience winning in the post season.

    VASILE LAMB GREATEST POWER FORWARD?
OK, as I started typing this I luckily checked the trades and saw that Vasile was traded to the Seattle Bears today.  So the question, Is Vasile the best power/two way forward in the league??  It’s a tough question for sure but lets check out his career to date.  The S82 first overall pick he made the jump directly to the VHL from the M.  In his first season he had 43 goals and 384 hits on a re-building NYA team.  Here is his career so far:
    S82- 43G 39A 82P  384HITS
    S83- 49G 45A 94P  344HITS
    S84- 34G 49A 83P  289HITS (CONTINTAL CUP CHAMP)
    S85- 38G 46A 84P  280HITS
    S86- 53G 53A 106 303HITS
    S87- 33G 31A 64P  245 (CURRENT SEASON 52 GAMES)

Lamb @dlambseems to do it all.  He hits, plays defense, fights, and scores at a high rate.  If I had to pick some NHL equivalents to Lamb I would put his name in there with players like Eric Lindros, Keith Tkachuk, Brendan Shanahan, Cam Neely, and Jerome Iginla. Some pretty good names to be compared too

Lamb is on pace for another career year and one could argue he is worthy of being considered one of the best PF in the game for sure.   Surely worthy of that 1st overall selection.  Best of luck Lamb in Seattle.

Hey there, from your friendly neighborhood recruitment guy!

One of the things we are going to be doing in the near future is reaching out to the list of inactive users we have. That list has been compiled with emails and we hashing out the details now. Our hope is to encourage them to return to activity here in the VHL. With that, I wanted to use this space to bring some insight into what I've found while doing this work. Most of this is simply to go "wow, interesting" as you look. But, who knows, maybe this will create some fruitful discussions.

Now, while our league is much older than 2013, I believe that is the year we moved forum hosts (though I could be wrong). What I'm not sure about is if the forum is counting every existing account prior to the move as a new account in the system, so keep that in mind.

D.C Dragons star right-winger Vasile Lamb has proven himself to be a force to be reckoned with in the VHL. His physical, high tempo play on the ice has made him one of the league's top players, proved by his 5th place finish in the point scoring race last season, carried into this season despite a huge off-season move to the D.C Dragons. Regardless of his success, there's one thing that Lamb doesn't seem to have: a true rival. It's not for lack of trying, though. Lamb has faced off against some of the league's top players and teams of all time, but he's consistently come out on the better end of these tilts. Even his supposed "rivalries" seem to fizzle out quickly due to Lamb's superior skills.

Take his "rivalry" with the HC Davos Dynamo, for example. Lamb has faced off against the David numerous times, and while Davos has had some success against other teams, they've never been able to solve Lamb, both on and off the ice. One anonymous Dynamo player was said to "breathe a sigh of relief" once the news dropped this past off-season that Vasile had inked a deal with the D.C. Dragons and would not have to deal with his brand of hockey as much, nor at all in the early playoff rounds. Lamb's dominance over Davos has essentially erased any chance of a true rivalry developing. The exact same can be said for most of the EU opponents, such as against the Moscow Menace, Malmo Nighthawks, and London United, all of which have felt the playoff wrath of Vasile Lamb and the Warsaw Predators. Dragons fans and management are looking forward to the same effect occurring over the next few seasons in the NA Conference, with Lamb saying in interviews that he loves playing against Seattle and Chicago, a comment that should worry both franchises.

But it's not just Lamb's opponents who lack a rivalry with the star player. Even the Board of Governors seems to have overlooked him completely when it came time to award the Season 86 Scott Boulet Trophy. Last season saw Lamb place 3rd in the league in hits, 5th in points, and 2nd in goals, not to mention his never-relenting focus to become the GOAT of VHL two-way forwards. Despite this, the trophy was given to Calgary Wranglers Forward Daniel Janser. Many fans and analysts were outraged, but Lamb took it in stride, saying, "I don't need a trophy to know that I'm the best."

Lamb seen wearing his trademark Pit Vipers during warmup against the Moscow Menace

On a serious note, Vasile actually doesn't really have a true rivalry, as his predecessor Dakota Lamb once did. D Lamb had, for example, the Season 73 Draft Class, including the likes of Jeffrey Pines, Groovy Dood, and Matty Socks, who all fought tooth-and-nail until the bitter end for the class TPE lead, awards, and just plain compete to be the best of the class. However, despite being drafted 1st overall, Vasile has relinquished the Season 82 draft class TPE lead rather early to the likes of The Board Game Clue On Skates and Bo Johansson, so much so that you couldn't even call it a rivalry.

I guess you could say that Vasile is taking rivalry applications, as it may be better for his ego to have someone specifically to compare himself to.

dlamb reacted to STZ in VHL Best Bets
Usually every week I come out with a Sunday Bullets to get my final 2 TPE for the week. Considering it is Superbowl Sunday and the best time to make bets, I've decided to switch things up. So here are the top five VHL Bets for the rest of the season!

    1. DC Dragons to make the VHL Playoffs +550
DC currently sits two points out of a playoff spot in a highly contested NA Race. Seattle currently has the last playoff spot with 38 points, anbd one game ahead of them is Chicago at 41 points. DC has a solid roster with superstar Vasile Lamb underachieving in his first year with the club. This is good value to throw $10 on.

    2. Mac Atlas to win ROTY +950
Atlas currently sits 6 points behind the leader of the rookie race in Larry Abass Jr. Atlas however has shown promise over the last few games, and has been decent in stats outside of scoring too. He has 3 Game Winning goals, and being the focal point of the Toronto Legion, we expect to see his scoring go up by the end of the season and likely push for the top spot in the rookie scoring race. This would be another great value bet.

    3. Xavier Booberry to reach the All-Time TPE Leaderboard at over 2000 TPE +200
@CowboyinAmerica is currently 150 TPE away from this gigantic milestone. I'm not even sure if it is mathematically possible for him to make it, but it surely must be, as why else would he be max-earning and banking on a playuer in their last season. Expect him not to retire at the end of the season to continue earning TPE. It will be very close, and could even depend on some Fantasy Uncapped TPE to set him over the top. I believe. Put big money on this.

    4. Under 0.5 new VHL GM's appointed before start of S88 +300
It feels like with the amount of teams we have, there is always a new VHL GM Job every season. This season could be the exception as we haven't seen any firings yet. Most of the current GM's are either longstanding GM's or new GM's that still have their enthusiam about the league still in tact. This seems like a trap bet, but could be worth throwing some money on.

    5. Vancouver Wolves to win Continental Cup in S87 +350
This team has been dominant. They've proven that using bot defense can work. Their lines have been unique and creative. I think management has done a wonderful job. From a team that was known for abusing the sim meta to a team who have been outside-the-box thinkers both in roster management and on ice strategy - Vancouver has proven that they are still a force. The Wolves look to repeat as Champion, but based on their season performance, we think there is a good chance for them to accomplish this.

dlamb got a reaction from FrostBeard in LA Stars Press Conference
    1. GM Gagnon in an interview to LA Yellow Pages said that noone is safe when it comes to a roster spot and there is a potential for even a full rebuild. Do you believe that is true or do you believe that the roster is safe and the team is in a full competitive mode?
Seeing as the team is currently fighting for the top spot in the NA Conference, don't think anyone needs to be worrying just yet. GM Gagnon is known to have a short fuse however, so an extended losing streak could see some player movement, considering LA's expectations entering the season.

    2. Jason Argos was recently called out after he said he won't take any pictures with fans before the game as he believes that takes away his focus from the job itself. Do you believe this is the way to approach fans?
Rightfully so he was called out. Players play for the fans, as the fans are the ones paying the bills. I can respect his focus on just simply playing hockey, but he needs to remember the amount of eyes on him at all times, and what an example should be.

    3. Viking Brandy brand has been officially labelled themselves as the fan favourite drink for LA Stars supporters, have you ever tried it?
Never, but maybe I will on a road trip to LA. May have to wait until the offseason though, don't like drinking in and around game days.

    4. After the start of the season, have you pinpointed any real problems with our team already or do you think it is too soon to say if we are ready for playoffs or not?
It is definitely too soon from a player and coaching perspective. There is a number of underachieving teams in the league right now, and there's so many more games to be played that nobody should be content with their league position.

    5. LA Stars Goalie coach recently talked in an interview about how he has never had a chance to work with such an amazing talented goaltending duo as Art and Minion, how do you feel about our goaltending duo?
I respect and consider Art one of the best goalers in the entire league. Don't have much of a scouting report on Minion, but my friends in the VHLE are telling me that he's a very talented goaler, and should be able to step into the VHL and hold his own, topping out as a 1B. Looks good now and for the future.

    6. For many players on this team this season is a real chance to show how much they have progressed and if they are ready to take that next step into a true role of a superstar, do you believe it is important to see a progression in your career?
Of course. Even players who march onto the scene with point-per-game or ROTY-level seasons, then can fall into the trap of getting down on themselves if they take a step back. Progression is easy to keep yourself motivated, but nonetheless you need to keep yourself in the right headspace.

Washington, D.C. - The D.C. Dragons are coming out of the gate facing some struggles in Season 87, with a record of 8-10-5, placing them 6th in the NA Conference and 13th overall in the VHL. Despite some insane individual performances by starting goaler Bubbles Utonium, the team seems to be struggling mightily finding the back of the net as of late.

Offseason-signee Vasile Lamb was quoted as saying, "We have the right skill on this team, but we need to find a way to work together as a group and consistently bring our best game. It's frustrating, but we have the ability to turn things around and make a run for the playoffs." It is rumored that GM Eno Rama has entered the trade market and will look to make a trade if it can help change the fortunes for this D.C. squad.

The Dragons may be sitting below the playoff line after 23 games, sitting just 1 point behind the Chicago Phoenix, but there is still plenty of time for the team to turn it around and make a push for the postseason. They will need to focus on playing as a complete unit, both offensively and defensively, and find a way to come together as a team. The talent is there, it's hopefully just a matter of time before they put it all together.

I love the creativity on this one with the giant text utilizing the whole graphic area. The JC is nice and I really like the "shiny" effect on the helmet, whether that was intentional or not. The placement is perfect overall and the background you chose works so well with the rest of the sig. What stops this form being a 10 for me, is its missing some lighting/shadows for blending. Maybe a couple more texture or lighting stocks would have helped blended this. Also would have preferred Drop Shadow instead of Glow for the LEANDRO text. Honestly though, this is one of the more creative sigs I've seen on here and also one of my favorites. Good job.
