Introduction
 
Good afternoon VHL, welcome to a fun idea I just had this morning: a league tour! I’m going to just check out the most interesting things that are floating around the forums right now and discuss each of them. Or at least some of them, we’ll see how it goes.
 
Recruiting Recruitment (Re)Crew
 
Front and center on the home page of the forums, something that you’d think we have all seen already but which is news to me: Beketov made a post just about a week ago advertising that the recruitment team is hiring. This looks like a good opportunity for someone who has some extra time to take on some extra responsibility in exchange for sweet, sweet TPE.
 
Preseason is Happening
 
VHL - With most teams sitting at five games played, the D.C. Dragons hold a single-point lead in the NA Conference - go Dragons! In the European Conference, Moscow is showing the league that they mean business, they’ve gone undefeated in their five games thus far. On the other side of the coin, we find the Malmo Nighthawks in the worst position in the VHL who are still in the hunt for their first win of the preseason.
 
VHLE - Preseason games haven’t begun for the VHLE quite yet, but I have it on good authority that they’ll be kicking off soon. I’ve been told that this is an intentional PR move, and that the league is, “saving the best for last.”
 
VHLM - My former team, the Ottawa Lynx, are absolutely tearing it up right now. They’re currently leading the Eastern Conference and the M overall with a record of 5-1-0, but there are several teams breathing down their neck. In the Western Conference, all five teams still seem to be looking to hit their stride for now. The Las Vegas Aces are leading the conference with a record of 3-1-2, which should tell you how contentious the VHLM is going to be. The longshot team for the season appears to be the Mexico City Kings, but nothing is certain!
 
Contract Money Probably
 
I got a notification that a finance update was approved, so I assume that means my contract payment for the season came in. Yours probably did too, so spend that money! Or don’t? I really don’t know what I’m supposed to be doing with league money at this point. Probably saving it for when Baxter starts to get old I guess?
 
VHL.com Graphics Are Good
 
Just taking a look through some of the graphics for the supplemental point tasks and dang, you guys really make it fun to browse through there. I feel like the VHL.com graphics section specifically gets a bit more variety than the graphics point task section does, and that’s super refreshing. I never really know what I’m going to get, and that’s half the fun.
 
A Plea for Podcasts
 
There are a precious few sweet souls who keep the podcast/VHL Radio sections afloat. I have a lot of time to listen to podcasts during the week, and every one of you nerds should be recording some audio content for TPE. I’m guilty of this too, I need to podcast more. What we should all do is just totally steal a page from the book of Tate, who has a podcast question thread in the Player Press Conferences section. It would be a lot easier to talk for fifteen minutes straight for me if I had a few prompt questions to work from, maybe it would work for you too! Five minutes for 3 TPE? It’s a steal.

IDK I think we solved a problem in about 9 minutes.  Very efficient if you ask me.

I think we need a minimum swear word threshold to meet in order to claim TPE.  Like one every fifteen words.

By the time I got to this league, I had heard and probably used (at least silently) every one of these anti-“save the kids” words before, as has almost everybody at that age. As for someone who started out younger than me, a person such as Gritty, yeah, maybe not the best move. I’d be all for having the podcaster put something on their podcasts that indicates that there’s some not so nice words in the podcast, but there’s nothing wrong with swearing. We all do/did it in our lives, so what’s to stop us from using it here? Also, for all this apparent need to keep the kiddos from being corrupted by the “badmins” cussing, you’re the one who posted every single swear word from an episode into a public space where all these kids can see. The irony between your grievances and your actions isn’t as bad as someone saying “Don’t do drugs kids” while he’s smoking crack, but it’s there nonetheless.
 
As for this hidden article, a lot of issues. First off, why the fuck would you make up all this shit about Thad doing immoral things? He’s the pastor on this website, not you. Additionally, though describing those words as “natural and common” isn’t wrong, that doesn’t mean they don’t refer to something that’s OK to say. There’s all sorts of words like those ones that we could use and get warnings/punishments for, but they’re natural and common! 
 
And from the Coc
In addition to media shared, sexual content, including explicit or suggestive references to genitalia and sexual acts, should not be shared or directed toward another user. This includes comments intended to be jokes, remarks, or discussion points. Enforcement of the rule does not depend on the gender identity or sexual orientation of the involved parties, nor their relationship with each other. Seems to me like you mighta done just that.
 
And lastly, the title implies that the moderators are specifically coming after your content. On the one hand, you’re not wrong: There’s not many other people out there disregarding the rules like that. However, because very few people actually go out and make sexual references, it seems difficult to believe that you’re a victim of “cancel culture” by the mods.

Not saying I disagree with having it as an option, but I could see an argument against it for that reason.

That's what it's all about, there is no point in earning at a level you don't enjoy. Besides you have a goalie, so not completely max earning even has real merit in the eyes of many anyways.😅

Truthfully, I've chosen a terrible time to begin this endeavor because stats for the upcoming season are greatly unpredictable. Nonetheless, I'm going to try, learn, and apply the knowledge for following seasons. This season, here's how I'll determine the amount donated (all $ amounts are in USD):
 
for our defenders: $0.01 for each hit, $0.01 for each shot block
for our forwards: $0.02 for each goal
 
minimum donation will be $15, maximum will be $30
 
The skater on our roster with most shots gets to choose where the donation goes. (I changed this from lowest PIM because I don't want an inactive to be chosen 😬) I haven't decided whether we'll include playoff stats if we make it. We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
