You'd have to review more than 2 things. The fewest amount of things for 2 TPE would be 4 podcasts or bios. But yes, you can use reviews in conjunction with pension if you wish to do so.
-
@DollarAndADream will be keeping an eye on things. If people are phoning it in for the free TPE he'll make sure they don't get paid for it.
-
Yes, that makes more sense. Like I said, the distinction between choosing a roster (regardless of position) vs. Choosing s line as we've been doing is important. I think this could work fine so long as the groups are balanced. I still like having hits and PIM factored in to keep it more interesting but aside from that I think the concept is cool.
-
Yeah, that's somewhat becoming clear. I guess I'm just not understanding the main root of what's being built from these groups. Is it just best overall team regardless of position or is it still trying to build 1 line but your choices are limited to particular groups?
-
I’m guessing I don’t. Let’s see if I can re-figure this out. Instead of building a straight up best line in the league like we have been doing, you instead choose 1 player per category and try to get the most amount of points possible from your choices? Positions are irrelevant, you just try to get the maximum amount of points. So, for example, Cornerstone may be the highest fantasy point producer but it doesn’t matter because you aren’t creating a “line” you just have players with different strengths? Does that sound more accurate?
-
At the end of the day though you are still trying to build the best line. Doesn’t matter what players are in what pools, you are trying to create the best line. It just feels odd to have that entirely weighted towards forwards while defense and goalies earn basically nothing. They make up half the line but would only contribute maybe a quarter of the fantasy points if nothing but points is considered; does that seem reasonable? Chances are I won’t be playing anyway, I don’t tend to. I just don’t see a reason to make the scoring completely bias towards forwards when, IMO, there should be a way to balance it out and have the entire line selection be important. I guess hits are probably the fairest way to do this though since it’s likely something all skaters will get whereas Shots Blocked are pretty much only defensemen.
-
I can argue that they should have MORE actually. In a balanced system all players will be important. Just because someone is a defenseman doesn’t mean they should be less important because they aren’t scoring. Same with a goalie. The balance is way off right now, I completely agree with that. Shots Blocked dominate everything which is why the SB leader always ends up being the fantasy leader. All I’m saying is balance the points out so that different playstyles than just sniper and playmaker can have an impact. Otherwise you’ll end up with the exact same problem as now except that the top scorer will always be the top fantasy player.
-
Maybe I don’t understand the system then. Are you not still building a full line from these categories of players? If so then without anything to balance them forwards will be completely dominant over defensemen because only offensive defensemen will be able to gain any fantasy points. I’m not sure how that’s any better than having defense dominate with shots blocked being weighted too heavily. Again though, I may be completely off the mark in understanding how this this being proposed.
-
This definitely seems to make things more interesting so I’m all for it. I still think as I did before that there needs to be some balance in regards to defensemen rather than just making it only points get fantasy points. Having hits offer some fantasy points is a nice way of doing that. I still think shots blocked is better (though needs to be weighted FAR LESS than it is now) though because forwards still pile on hits while they don’t tend to block many shots. It adds some balance that makes D actually important.

I play for the team and I had my logos backwards...well that’s embarrassing haha. Was thinking that was the old one.
-
So...is there actually no one that has this logo still kicking around? @Molholt?
-
It's not so much that it's more of a burden. It's more so that he job became less obviously important which means fewer people did it, resulting in more burn out. As for your second point. Don't think of it as me making you unemployed. Think of it more that I made everyone employed.
-
It remains auto-6 the way it always was. @DollarAndADream has the only say if something isn't putting forth enough effort to be considered as such. The reviews are simply to give feedback and help people improve, they have no weight on the actual TPE given. The cap remains at 9 for right now, this just offers a way to get up to 2 TPE of that. Where the 8 comes into play is the max amount of reviewing points you can earn in a week. 8 points = 2 TPE. Since the amount you can earn from reviewing is capped at 2 TPE the amount of points you can get in a week is capped at 8. Does that make sense?
-
Just do what you do best. Add tits.

A quick thank you here as well to anyone who has been a grader over the years and more specifically @Pandar, @TheLastOlympian07, and @Beaviss who have been going hard the last little bit. This decision has nothing to do with your work ethic, you guys have been doing everything you can. Any TPE you have banked up until today will still be claimable as a thank you for your service. That goes for anyone else in the current PT Staff that I may have missed as well.
-
Not often I get questions without asking for them haha. With that said...guess who needs more questions! Anyone got some? @der meister @Phil @tfong @Banackock @gorlab @JardyB10 @evrydayimbyfuglien @Jericho @DollarAndADream @Kendrick @Smarch @punkhippie @Beaviss

Anyone who has been present in the VHL since we introduced the “Auto-6” grading system will know that the amount of activity focused on Point Task conversation has gone way down and in some ways our quality has gone down as well. While the system of reviewing instead of grading was good in theory the incentive wasn’t present for the reviewers to handle the increased workload and the reviewers themselves got burnt out much easier. With this in mind I would like to officially announce the 2nd major change to the VHL’s reviewing system since we opened our doors. Points Tasks will still automatically receive 6 TPE but there will no longer be a formal “PT Staff” doing the reviewing. Instead all members will be able to review point tasks and claim up to 2 TPE (capped) per week for it. This means if you can’t find a league job that interests you, or if you’re just missing out on a few points to hit the cap you can still earn them simply by reviewing the work of others. Here’s how it all works. Each review you post should be constructive in nature and at least a few sentences long to distinguish it from a regular comment, which are still completely allowed. Assuming you meet that criteria you post the link to your review in your review log; the forum for which will be moved to a public forum within the “Into the Stands” section. Get enough in a week and you will earn TPE given out by @DollarAndADream, who’s official title will now be “Head of PT.” So how much exactly is enough? It’s very simple. 4 Review Points = 1 TPE Media Spots, Rookie Profiles, and Graphics = 1 Point Podcasts and Biographies = 2 Points So, if you review for example 2 GFX and 1 podcast in a week you earn 4 points and thus 1 TPE. Double that and you hit the cap at 2 TPE. A note, however, for anyone who has been a reviewer before and is used to the old system. There will be no banking of reviews in this system. Once you hit 8 points for a week that is all you can claim. No more weeks of doing no work and getting paid for it. With that said, carryover is still allowed under 2 TPE. For example, if you grade 5 media spots that’s 1 TPE with 1 point carried over to the next week. In addition, only 2 reviews are allowed per PT. Reviewing should ideally be done in reverse order (from oldest PT’s to newest) and on a first come, first serve basis. If 2 reviews are already on a PT and you claim one after that claim will not give you points. Essentially the regulations around reviewing have not changed but the option to do so is now open to everyone. To allow time to adjust to this new idea and ask answer questions if necessary the new reviewing system will go into effect Monday, October 9th. Slightly before that time all PT’s older than 2 weeks will be archived so that people cannot grave dig old topics for reviewing. If you have questions on this new system or would like things clarified please feel free to ask.

He'd need to do it twice more after to have a campaign record like mine, besides, his hashtag is too long. Just #Bana4BOG works better
-
I was always against moving them to the top and I'm against moving them back to the top. Obviously it's a much more heated debate than was expected though. IMO the first thing people should see in the forum is the most important stuff, simple as that. League Office, announcements, create a player. These are easily the most important forums and should be as high as possible. Combine that with the fact that all the other hidden forums are at the bottom and it just makes more sense. New members don't immediately have locker rooms anyway so it isn't like they'll see a difference when they first join. Once they actually get into a locker room I'm sure it won't be too confusing to scroll down, it never was for the majority of our lifespan. We shouldn't do something just because other sites have it a certain way.

I haven't been seeing it for awhile. Guessing the link broke somehow.

Wasn't me. I prefer it but was just as surprised as you.

Claimed: Graphic For Sept 17th/2017 {-4 TPE}
Beketov replied to Exlaxchronicles's topic in Archived Graphics/Videos
I recognize that. Like I said, I actually find this one to be a bit better than the other one that was questioned. I definitely recognize that using the system you use is much more challenging but it's also hard for us to judge effort without having ever done it ourselves. That's why I leave it up to the PT head to decide how to handle the situation. -

Can't start a dictatorship strong leadership campaign by burning myself out early. -

3 might be a tad of an exaggeration but if graphics are that challenging for you effort wise it may be better to hold off until you have a better solution. Personally I find this one better than the one we warned you for so it's a start. With that said this is @DollarAndADream's territory as head of PT's. I will let him decide. -
A third successful hashtag campaign for the Beketov agency, don't believe there is really anywhere to go from here. Thank you @Higgins for the vote of confidence and congrats @Devise as well. I'm looking forward to helping improve the site that I've enjoyed so much for the past 10 years.
