It's strangely easy to find these, odd how Invisionfree doesn't seem to ever clean out their old forums. There's actually an ad for the VHL in the announcements. I think i recall seeing the DHL because it looks familiar but I never joined.

I always found it helpful when I was starting out to be able to recognize where everyone started. It's kinda discouraging to see so many good artists around you and not be able to make anything decent yourself. People's first sigs have certainly come a long way, and god knows I have, but looking at the old ESHL board made me think about my first sig and how awful it was. So, I offer it to you now. Hopefully this can be used as inspiration and to show that everyone starts somewhere. This was my first sig and it was made almost 8 years ago: If you still have your first I invite you to share it and we can all laugh at ourselves together. Or everyone can just laugh at me, whatever. P.S I did do that cut, that's about the only decent thing I did with this sig haha. GIMP eraser tool FTW.

On account of a discussion in the LR with Mike, I may have gone and found the ESHL link… http://z7.invisionfree.com/ASHL/index.php? All the images are broken but most of the sigs are still there and it hasn't been taken over with spam bots which is surprising. A lot of memories with this place, and a lot of sadness looking back on how atrocious my grammar was. I doubt there are many of us left who were apart of this (hell there aren't many who were apart of VHL S1) but still wanted to share.

I could try the pattern in white. I made it black because the sig was much lighter when I added it and then forgot to go back and see if it worked as white. Sub text I tried but could get it to look right so I said fuck it

In case you haven’t heard in recent seasons, long time VHL player agent Alexander Beketov is still not in the Hall of Fame as a builder. This, likely, comes as a surprise to most given that Beketov has held several positions within the league and has been around, in one way or another, for the entirety of the VHL’s life span. Not only is that a claim that few people can make, but also one that gets more and more impressive every day. After getting once again left off the ballot of induction, Beketov stirred up his league contacts and has now started a campaign to get himself into the hall for a second time, in the builder category this time around. Prominent players and agents have already signed up for the campaign, with rumors that one of the comes from the blue team itself. When reached for comment, Beketov had this to say: ​“I don’t believe myself to be necessarily more deserving than anyone else, but I do think I deserve the nod. Not just because I’ve been in the league so long, that is not a reason on its own, but because of how much I’ve given back. Helping more the HQ twice, helping with news reports, helping name an award with the best name that I could possibly think of, and helping to develop the rules of the league as we know them today. ​I believe that the builder’s category is too bias towards general managers and think it’s time to let us under-stated but important people in. That is why the campaign has started. Volunteers for the campaign are always welcome." ----------- As a note, I’m doing this for fun, and in this case to get a point. I recognize the importance of the builder category and wouldn’t want to force my way in, thus undermining it.

So, I don’t know if this is news to anyone else, but it definitely is for me. Have you guys ever been in photoshop and something fucks up but doesn’t let you undo enough to fix it? I know it has happened to me and it’s massively annoying because you have to delete layers, start over, etc. Anyway, if you’re in photoshop there is a way to get more undos! The default is 20 but you can crank it up to 1000! I don’t know where exactly these menus are on PC but you just need to go into Preferences-> Performance and under “History and Cache” there’s a slider for “History States.” If you crank that up, you can have up to 1000 undos. I currently set mine to 500 since I assume it fills up some hidden folder on my harddrive somewhere but even 500 seems like more than enough. Just thought I’d share

Plus the Super Cup has only been held what, twice? Anyone who played before couldn't have gotten it. Most I've ever had was 2 actually. Beketovhad World Cup gold with Russia and a cup with Seattle. I've never won in the VHLM though.

I guess the benefit would be that you can continue to add TPE to your current player whereas with the current system all your earned TPE would go toward your new player. Anyway, I'm all for keeping the current system. For one, the VHLM needs more attention, even if some of us don't like it, so paying even less attention to it seems counter productive. Secondly, it complicates the hell out of carry-over amounts. Do you carry-over based on what you had when you re-created or add it later based on your actual total? Third, as Cowboy mentioned, you can essentially pay attention to a VHL player while having a VHLM player now anyway. Why change and complicate the rules just so that people can TPE whore a little easier? If you want to pay attention to a VHL player instead of the VHLM (for whatever reason) that take the TPE hit and retire at the start of your 8th season.

I'll be impressed if you can do it against teams that actually stand a chance of fighting back.

Totally fine by me I won't get the prediction points if you're right and I get most improved but I will get he award point which I'd rather have.
