S49 Draft Risks and Safe Spaces
Welcome back to another amazing Birdman draft edition. Sometimes I wish I wasn't a GM so I could do mock drafts and stuff like that, but I don't want to give away my opinions that much when I have lots of picks this draft. Instead, I try to give more unbiased views on prospects that are accurate but other GMs still don't know what I am thinking. I present to you a college campus, filled with people making bad decisions and visiting safe spaces.
Risks
This draft is filled with so many boom or bust risks, which is probably why I find it so interesting. The highest rated risk on @Kendrick's amazing VHL Scouting Center is defensemen Ted Doughty of the Jaladolar agency. @Jala presents an interesting case to GMs because he has shown the league he can go on a tpe tear with both his old player and current one. However, his strange and rapid departure from the league with his last player may be scaring a few GMs off, as it would be very damaging to a team if a highly drafted player goes awol. Another boom or bust player in the draft comes from the @Da Trifecta agency. Kai Roberts has been earning tpe at a solid rate, and if his tpe earning told the whole story Roberts would probably be one of the top picks in the draft. However, DT has a controversial past whether it is very early player retirements, making controversial statements, or having a negative attitude. The player alone has high potential and is pretty active, but it will be interesting to see how far Roberts will drop based on DT's past transgressions. The last boom or bust player fittingly comes from the
@boom agency in Thor Odinsson. While Boom is a great guy, his past mercenary attitude with his players combined with flirting with retirement and leaving the league will scare some GMs off. However, if Boom is on his game he is a great locker room prescence and can turn Thor into a beast.
Safe Spaces
There are plenty of "safer" picks in this draft who may not have the biggest ceilings but can be counted on to get the job done. Generally safe picks are re-creates who have shown the ability to stick with their past few players. Arguably the safest pick in this draft comes from the @Green agency, as he has created some outstanding players in the past. While Green may not have the drive he once did, he is still a guarantee to be at least a welfare player who is a good locker room prescience and knows how to optimize his player build. Next among the safe spaces is Shayne Gow from the @flyersfan1493 agency. Flyersfan is another member who has shown in the past he is a great teammate to have and will stick with his players, but he may not produce the biggest tpe output. GMs should be warned he is the scrubbier of the two Gow brothers though. Lastly, Jim Lahey from the @Cuffy agency can be considered a safe pick. While he may only give teams a welfare player, he has shown a knack for sticking around and being a great all around teammate.
