Mashy reacted to Bojovnik in Hlozek Responds to Inclusion on Deathwalker's Hit List
PRAGUE, April 27 (Hockey.cz) - Druss Deathwalker @animal74, a rookie forward for the Malmo Nighthawks, made headlines last week when he published the VHL players on his so-called hit list. The British winger, who was selected 11th overall in the S77 Entry Draft, pledged to mount a "personal vendetta" against all those who were drafted above.

One of the players on the list is Jan Hlozek, who was selected 8th by the Riga Reign, despite being deemed unable to play in the VHL this past season. As Deathwalker plied his trade in the pros, Hlozek has spent another 72 games in the VHLM with the Miami Marauders, scoring at almost a point-per-game pace.

Deathwalker published his "hit list" just as the Miami Marauders were set to enter into postseason action, and Hockey.cz took the chance to get Hlozek's opinion on being named as a target.

"It's funny, isn't it? I don't know this guy and now he's saying that he wants to take me out. I've never heard of him, so I don't understand what problem he has with me," Hlozek said during a Skype call.

Deathwalker, a true power forward, has struggled to contribute this season offensively in the VHL. He tallied only 17 points in his rookie campaign, leading to a derisory comment from Hlozek.

"He has only 17 points? Maybe he should spend some more time practicing, learning how to put the puck in the net, rather than putting my name in his mouth. What's he going to do? Hit me? I've played two seasons in the minors, which are full of tough, physical guys. He doesn't scare me," the Czech blueliner said.

Some commentators said that the Riga Reign were unwise to select Hlozek, a relative unknown, with the 8th pick in the draft, but the Topolna native said that he believed in his talents, and didn't pay too much attention to the draft board…. in his own way.

"As I said, I don't know this Deathwalker guy. Maybe that's because I didn't pay any attention to the draft after I was selected. There's a reason why I went before him, because I can play. Look at my point totals. Look at what I can do on the ice. Maybe he's bitter, maybe he's jealous. Maybe he even wanted to go to Riga, not Malmo. I mean, it's cold and depressing in Sweden, so he's just taking this frustration out on everyone else," Hlozek stated.

When asked if he had a "hit list" similar to the one published by Deathwalker, Hlozek issued a strong denial.

"I don't have time to put together things like this. I just want to focus on my game. What other guys do doesn't matter to me. I'm not going to put a target on me, or my team, by making these statements," he commented.

Hlozek said that the reason for him being singled out on Deathwalker's hit list was because he was a Czech citizen.

"You know how those British guys are with Brexit and whatever. They hate all us guys from Eastern Europe because they think that we come over and steal all their jobs. I've heard a lot of this from guys I know who have spent time there, so I guess it's just important to ignore these sorts of messages," he stated.

The Miami Marauders have got their playoff campaign underway over the past two days. Their quarter-final series sees them take on the San Diego Marlins, with the score currently level at 1-1 after the first two games.

The Marauders dropped the first game in overtime by a score of 3-2, although the South Beach club rallied back in Game 2 with a comprehensive 5-1 victory.

"As I've said all season, I think we can be better. We have the talent on this roster to win the playoffs, so to lose the first game was disappointing but maybe it was the wake-up call we needed. We demonstrated what we can do when it all clicks in Game 2, and we just need to keep this up for the rest of the series and the rest of the playoffs," Hlozek said.

The Czech blueliner was held scoreless through the first game, but praised his teammates for stepping up to the plate and getting the team over the line.

"The guys played great. Our goalie and forwards were amazing in Game 2, so that was a huge reason why we got the win. Noah Mashford @Mashyhas been the best player in the league over the past two weeks or so, and if he's going, we always have a chance," Hlozek remarked.

"Nevertheless, I need to be better. The team relies on me to produce, and I haven't produced over the last two games. I always put a lot of pressure on myself to perform, and this isn't going to change now. Sure, this is my first experience of playing in the VHLM playoffs, but I know what it takes to win, and I'm going to help my team achieve that," he added.

As the Skype call came to a conclusion, Hlozek was asked whether he wanted to tone down his comments made towards Deathwalker, but the Czech star issued a firm denial.

"No, let him read this. If you can, please find his agent and send over the text. I want him to read this. I want him to be mad. I want him to be angry that he was drafted after me. That at least one other team thought I am a better player than him. Let him try and take me out. Let him target me. I don't care. I proved in the VHLM that I am a better player than him, and I'll do that again when I get to Riga," Hlozek stated.

At this stage, Druss Deathwalker could not be reached for comment ahead of this article's publication. He has been made aware of Hlozek's comments and we await any future response to come in due course.

S77 Miami Marauders Regular Season Awards!

Another season has come and gone for the Miami Marauders. As a group I pegged us to finish the season near the top of the standings and that’s where we finished. Through a good locker room mentality and development of our top players; Miami came out of the gates very slow and walked the line of the team being blown up!! But things changed at the quarter mark and Miami never looked back! They became a strong consistent force all season long. They finished 2nd place in their conference, 3rd overall in the VHLM. With a competitive playoffs ahead I expect nothing but success for our team and players!

    Most Valuable Marauder “MVM”
    *As voted by the players*

    - Alexander The Great @Shiny

This years most valuable marauder goes to non other then Alexander The Great! He led our team on and off the ice in many ways! Great would finish the regular season leading the team in points with 98, and while also co-controlling the teams social media account. The Great was  super popular in the locker room which showed night in and night out. Congrats on your award Alex.

    The Dakota Lamb Award

    -Noah Mashford @Mashy

Each season an award is given to the player who scores the most goals during the regular season. The award was named after previous Miami Marauder Dakota Lamb as he holds the record for most goals in a season with the Miami Marauders at 44. This years recipient of this award is forward Noah Mashford; Noah’s 47 !! Goals not only led the team in scoring but is a new Miami Marauders Record for goals in a season! Maybe a new name for the award is coming next season 👀. Congrats on your award Noah.

    The Perry Leadership Award

    -Alexander The Great @Shiny

This trophy is named after former Marauder and trophy winner of the previously named Lebastard Memorial Trophy Nathan Perry; because of the success and leadership shown during his time in the VHL and with the Marauders in the VHLM. He proved in season 75 to be amongst the best leaders on Miami and has now taken it a step further and become and AGM on the same team he once played for. Now that we have a little history on the change in the awards name lets get on to the player who deserves to be crowned this years Perry Leadership Award Winner. Alexander The Great was voted as the “MVM” of the Marauders this season for a reason! He was named captain of Miami at the beginning of the season and his leadership did not stop with a letter on his chest! His helpful attitude was infectious in the locker room and he also led all players in production throughout the season! A true leader through and through! Congrats on your award Alex.

        The Kosmo Kramerev Award

    -Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

The Kramerev is awarded to the teams top defensemen during the regular season. This years winner of this award was convincingly Jan Hlozek; he finished the season with 20 goals and 63 points in 72 games while also being a plus 22 with only 56 penalties in minutes all year! This was a dominate player on both ends of the ice for Miami and is very much deserving of this award! Congrats Jan.

    The BigAL Award

    -Noah Mashford @Mashy

The BigAL Award is awarded to the player who shows the most promise for long term success in the VHL. There is always numerous members of the team who are deserving of this award but I am only going to be awarding it to one person and that person for S77 is Noah Mashford.  Noah not only improved significantly on the ice this season but his constant presence in the locker room was a huge reason he is receiving this award! Activity in the locker room is basically half the battle and it goes a long way with many management teams in the VHL! Noah has all the makings of being a star in the VHL! Congrats on your Award.

    The Patty T Award

    -Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny

Each season we like to recognize some of the hard work players are putting in each week to earn experience for their players. This award is given to the player that had the best Graphic this past season! Named after last years winner Nils Tallinder. Trevor consistently put out Graphic despite how difficult they are! Congrats on the award Trevor.

    Media Spot of the year

     -  Jan Hlozek @Bojovnik

Now it is time to show some recognition to those who decide to write articles rather than create graphics. I love to show off the work of members who aren't necessarily masters at their craft but rather those who take a chance on it and are open enough to write even when they aren't necessarily writers or so they think. This years winner is Jan Hlozek! He put out multiple media spots this season worthy of this award! My personal favourite being “What If Hlozek Joined Two Weeks Prior?” It was a enjoyable read and very well put together! Congrats on the award Jan.

    1. Honestly, I think we could sweep them in 4. But it could also maybe go 4,5, or 6 games. I’d love to see a sweep though.

    2. With the way we ended our regular season I think this year could truly be a cup run if we stick to our game.

    3. Yes, 100%.
The Great- Mashford- Wallace is the best line in the league.

    4. To be honest I don’t know anyone on the Marlins so I’m not sure.

    5. I don’t mind Olives. Only time I really like them is when they’re in Greek salad.

    6. Hell no. I’m afraid of heights. So sky diving would not be a go to for me.

Mashy reacted to LilHCorny in Trevor Wallace... Injured and Then What
As we all know it's theme week.  So it's time for an alternate reality.  For this one we're starting back at Grand Rapids Christian, where Trevor Wallace attended high school...
It happened all in an instant.  One second I was skating on the rink, shooting at the goal.  The next I couldn't move my fingers in my right hand.  I didn't know what to do.  I was one of the top hockey prospects in the state of Michigan, and I couldn't hold a fucking hockey stick.  How was I supposed to play in the VHL?  That'd been the dream all along of course.  To one day be drafted in the VHLM, spend a year or two there, then graduate up to the pros in the VHL.  Yet, no matter how hard I tried my fingers wouldn't budge.  It was just me at the rink, just taking some time to work on my penalty shot, a part of my game that needed improvement.  Or now I guess, now I have no game, without a right had that works.  So, I did what any sane person does, I panicked.  Thankfully, there was no significant pain.  My nerves must be cut off too (thank you science class for actually teaching me something).  I skated over to the door, used my left arm to push it open it and ran over to my phone.  I immediately called my parents, using my left hand.  It took forever using only one hand.  I told them what was going on and they suggested I head to urgent care at the local Mercy Health.

Maybe at another time I would've headed to Spectrum Health, but I'd had a bad experience there when I was four.
It turns out that I'd somehow had my blood flow cut off and there was no way to get it back.  This meant that I either have a limp hand, or I get amputated.  I decided to do the latter.  In the meantime, I needed to figure out a sport that only required no hands or one hand.  I had been decently fast on the rink, but that was with skates so I really didn't feel like track was my thing.  However, I'd heard from a friend that fencing would really only require one hand, so I decided that was gonna be my thing.  I had the athleticism and I'd been a good enough student that the mental part didn't seem like it'd bug me.  And heck, who the didn't like stabbing someone with swords, sign me up!  So, I signed up for a fencing class at Grand Rapids Advanced Fencing Academy (GRAFA).  I had a few fencing clubs as they call them, to choose from in the area.  I could drive over an hour daily to go to Bay Regional Fencing Academy, or head on over to the other one by my high school, West Michigan Fencing Academy.  In the end though, I decided to choose GRAFA because they seemed the most intense, and were run by Russians which stereotypically, I know, reminded me a bit of hockey, since we all know that's a big sport there.

The first class was... different from any sport I'd known.  We had to do everything in this weird half sitting position with my one good arm bent at the elbow and extended a little bit with my other arm just sitting there behind me.  My feet were perpendicular to one another and spread out while my knees were bent.  if that sounds confusing, good, because I had no clue what I was doing.  Apparently fencing has three weapons that you can fence.  Foil, which you start out with, sabre, where everything above the waist is the target and you slash people in a sense, and epee where the whole body is the target.  I really wanted to fence foil for some reason.  Thankfully, that's what you start out with.

As the weeks progressed I learned a lot.  I'd started dominating bouts (the fencing equivalents of matches) in the beginner class.  I guess I'm a fast learner.  My main attack was a simple feint and disengage.  Which is where you extend your blade without actually intending to hit your opponent and when they try to parry (block) your blade you go around their weapon and extend fully to get the point.  The only problem I had was hesitating a bit.  You see, in the foil and sabre weapons there is this thing called right of way.  You almost always need it to score.  Whoever is attacking has right of way, so at the start if you take an advance (step) forward before your opponent you gain right of way, however it is very easy to lose.  You step backwards? You lose it.  Hesitate and your opponent advances?  You lose it.  Your opponent parries your blade?  You better be ready to retreat or parry their blade, because you won't have right of way anymore.  Of course, it's possible to score without right of way, however your opponent must not hit you whatsoever because right of way is what determines a touch when two people hit each other at the same time (which happens a lot, surprisingly).  And yes, if they hit you off target (anywhere outside of the torso in foil) and you hit them on their torso, nobody gets a point.  That was confusing to me in the first week, but I learned it pretty quickly.  Anyways, I was ready to go to the advanced class.

Once I was in the advanced class, I struggled.  In fact, my parents decided to get me some private one hour classes with the coach which helped a lot.  I had to learn to stop with the parry disengage so often because everyone in this class could easily defend it with a circle six parry (in which you make a counterclockwise circle with your blade to parry your opponent's blade).  So, I had to diversify what I was doing, I now really saw why they called it mental chess.  I based most of my strategy and style around infighting (fencing from a very close distance to your opponent,  usually within a foot), which I found myself to be surprisingly good at.  It took me a few months, but I started competing, and winning.  After all, I was quite in shape from hockey and was able to be agile along the fencing strip (the fencing equivalent of a field or rink).

Then came my first tournament... or so I thought.  In my first bout I tore my ACL and then my time frame was up.  My prime as a fencer was going to be wasted.  So yeah, that's Trevor Wallace as a fencer.

    1. I wanna see us have a winning record in the remaining games.

    2. Probably Saskatoon Wild.

    3. Probably Jan Hlozek. He’s been a force on the blue line and has also been a point getting machine!

    4. To be honest I haven’t paid much attention to the VHL. I would like to see Riga win it since I am a prospect for them. But I have no idea.

    5. Probably Football, Spikeball, or Volleyball.

    6. Brad Marchand. He’s a good player but super dirty.

Welcome all to another installment of the VHLM Power Rankings! We are past the halfway point in our season and the trade deadline is just around the corner in under one week. The playoff picture is starting to become a bit clearer and it will be interesting to see if any teams decide to bolster their rosters heading into the postseason. While the Mississauga Hounds seem to be running away with first place this season, their is still lots of intriguing jockeying for position happening throughout the rest of the standings. It was also be interesting to see if the Houston Bulls can maintain their respectable record amidst a large scale public meltdown this past weekend when a player demanded a trade, followed by the subsequent stepping down of their AGM. This developing story will definitely be something to keep an eye on going forward. Will cooler heads prevail in Houston or was this just the first domino that leads to an entire collapse? Enough preamble, let's get into the meat and potatoes you all came for!

    Prev: 1  |  Current: 1 ↔️
To absolutely no one's surprise, the Hounds are back in the number one spot for the second consecutive time! Through just 48 games, the Hounds have a sterling 44-4-0 record and with 88 points, they already have a 15 point lead over the next best team. It's clear the Hounds are primed for a major run at the Founder's Cup this season. From top to bottom, they have a roster that can compete with anyone. A key contributor to their success has been free agent signing @inflastud Angel Wachiure. After four moderately successful seasons spent in Las Vegas, Wachiure signed with the Hounds right before the start of this season. Wachiure always had potential to be a stud in the VHLM, and while performing reasonably well, he never truly broke through with an elite season. This year however, he has already amassed 58 points through 48 contests, including 30 goals which is two shy of his career best. Clearly he has found some chemistry with his new linemates in Mississauga and if he can keep up this pace, he could earn himself some hardware at the end of the season. But of course, all of that is secondary to the Founder's Cup, which is the most coveted piece of hardware to capture. Wachiure is one of many players on the Hounds who make them lethal night in and night out.

    Prev: 2  |  Current: 2 ↔️
At number two for the second consecutive installment of the Power Rankings is none other than the Saskatoon Wild. While they certainly are quite back to their for of Seasons 68 and 69, the Wild are strong and poised to make a major push in the playoffs. They've maintained their threshold over the Western Conference with a dominating 35-12-3 record. Besides the Hounds, they are the only team to have surpassed the 200 goal plateau so far this year. A ton of credit has to be given to @Doomsday and @a_Ferk for having such a great eye for talent and also doing such a nice job with talent development. @HoneyBadger25 Griff Mackenzie was a 5th round pick (57th overall) from the S76 VHLM Dispersal Draft. Two seasons later he is on the verge of being a 200+ TPE player and is just 4 goals shy of hitting 100 in his career with the Wild. Then you have @124715 Duncan Montana, the 29th overall pick of this past Dispersal Draft. After falling to the third round, he has developed at a terrific rate and will probably also break the 200 TPE threshold by season's end. Both these players have 40 goals and are torching defenses all around the league. When you are averaging over four goals a game, your team always has a good shot to win night in and night out, so watch out for the #SaskyBois down the stretch!

    Prev: 4  |  Current: 3 ⬆️
From first, to fourth, and now in third, the Miami Marauders have bounced around a bit in the Power Rankings this season, but I think this is right around where they'll be for the remainder of the year. It could be hard to stay motivated for Miami as realistically, they won't be moving up or down in the Eastern Conference standings. Barring a sudden collapse from Mississauga, they won't overtake the Hounds, and they also have built a nice lead over the rest of the teams below them. They have been red hot as of late. Since the last edition of the Power Rankings, they have put up a 17-3-1 record which is among the best in the league during that timespan. Much like the Hounds did with Wachiure, the Marauders re-signed free agent @Mashy  Noah Mashford right before the start of this season. The VHLM journeyman had been on four different VHLM clubs throughout his career, but he undoubtedly found the most success last season when he played for the Marauders. Mashford made the decision to return to South Beach for another season and it sure has paid off for both parties. Just under the 250 TPE cap, Mashford has become a full developed player and is enjoying a monster season. He leads his team with 28 goals and currently has 54 points overall. With 23 games left in the campaign, he is just one goal shy of his career best. After this season he could be off to Riga to play for his VHL club, but until then he looks to push the Marauders back into playoff glory.

    Prev: 3  |  Current: 4 ↔️
After flip-flopping places with Miami, Las Vegas finds themselves in the four spot. The Aces are a consistently formidable opponent and have an above average roster this season, which is more than alot of clubs can claim. While I think they lack the high-end talent to compete with the likes of Mississauga or Saskatoon, I do think they could win a series or two in the playoffs. The catalyst for most of the offense for the Aces this season has been sophomore Canadian-born winger Darryl McDagg. After being nabbed by the Aces in the second round of the S76 VHLM Dispersal Draft, McDagg has finally started to settle in and find his game in his second year of service with the club. With 38 goals and 31 assists already, McDagg is on pace for a 101 point season. It would be a heck of an accomplishment to break the 100 point plateau. I think if the Aces were to find another winger or a high end center to play with McDagg, the sky would totally be the limit and it could probably make Vegas more of a contender.  The Aces defense continues to provide offense, which is terrific, but I think some help up front is warranted. Will the Aces go all in for this season, or play it safe and keep some assets for next year too?

    Prev: 5  |  Current: 5 ↔️
I hesitatingly put Houston back into the fifth spot of the Power Rankings after a whirlwind of controversy surrounded the team this weekend after @RicoTheTrapGod Germano Henchoz came out and was vocally critical of his team. Citing a dead locker room and lack of communication from his peers, he demanded a trade. There's a lot to digest here, and the VHL community certainly was in an uproar over this one. It's never good to hear that a team LR is trending on the inactive side. Honoring the trade demands, the Bulls sent Henchoz to the Halifax 21st in exchange for defensemen @Wally Donne Taliferro and a fourth-round pick in the upcoming draft this offseason. Unfortunately for the Bulls, they only have one other defenseman on their roster, and eventually that is going to be problematic for them. While @Willy Myers has torn up the VHLM this season with 39 goals and 44 assists, he is less than a week away from going inactive, so hopefully Willy can get some work in this week to stay on the roster. It would be a major blow to Houston's playoff aspirations if they were to lose their leading scorer.

    Prev: 6  |  Current: 6 ↔️
The #BoatGang is back again holding down the number six spot, and they are slowly inching their way towards moving up higher in the future. While they've had middling results lately, I do think they are trending in the right direction, especially with the aforementioned acquisition of defenseman Germano Henchoz. Henchoz alongside blueliner @bluesfan55 Hadrian makes for one of the best 1-2 punches in the league on defense. Up front, highly skilled American winger @Tbeez99 Kyle Glass  leads his team offensively with 26 goals and 32 assists for 58 points. Not only has he been putting up points, but he also has added 148 hits. Having a player with this kind of versatility definitely helps your team compete, and Glass will need to keep it up for Halifax to a threat in the playoffs. For Glass it will be his last chance to compete for the Founder's Cup, as he will be off to Moscow next season to begin his pro career.  GM Rory has done a great job of taking control of this team and turning it around quickly, it should be interesting to see if he makes any more moves before the deadline on Monday.

    Prev: 7  |  Current: 7 ↔️
Every time I look at the Storm roster, as find myself wondering how they are only a team that's hovering around .500 on the season. They find themselves back in the seventh spot for the second time in a row after being touted as one of the top teams in the original Power Rankings for Season 77. It's mind boggling to me that they aren't finding more success, as they have high TPE players across the board. After the draft, it seemed to me like GM Rayzor had put his team in a good spot to compete this season. I know players like @stevo Ron World Peace III are hoping the team can get hot down the stretch in time for the playoffs.  Peace III has been with the team since Season 75, back when the Storm was more like a light drizzle. In a forgettable down year, Peace III was a rookie and was one of the lone bright spots on the squad, putting up a respectable 54 points. The German defender has been with the team  for three seasons now, and he has already matched his 18-goal mark from his rookie season. Not only is he providing offense for his club from the blueline, but he's also bringing the pain on a nightly basis. Through 49 games he has 160 hits and 111 PIMs. Minnesota is another team that could potentially add via trade heading into the deadline next week, so keep an eye out for them to perhaps make a move.

    Prev: 9  |  Current: 8 ⬆️
Up one spot from our last installment, and coming in at the eight spot is the San Diego Marlins. The Marlins continue to show steady growth and over the course of the year they've become a formidable opponent to play against. If they playoffs started today they would be the seventh seed and face off against Saskatoon. The 5-7 seeds are only separated by four points, so there is still lots of room to move up or down. If they could get into the sixth seed or higher, I could definitely see this team pulling off an upset in the playoffs. There has been a ton of players developing at a great rate for San Diego. One player who is worth noting is @KC15 Luc Tessier. After taking Loch Ness Monster first overall in the Season 77 VHLM Dispersal Draft, the Marlins were back on the clock at pick 11, and they took the lanky French center with their second pick of the first round. There sure hasn't been any buyer's remorse, as Tessier has developed at a fantastic rate, already approaching the 200 TPE mark. Additionally, he has managed to put up 20 goals and 25 assists in his rookie season already! With Tessier, and many other players on the Marlins who work as hard as he does, the Marlins continue to be a team to keep your eye on going forward.

Unsurprisingly, down one to the ninth spot is the Yukon Rush. This should come as no surprise as Yukon has made some trades focusing on their future, rather than competing this season. While they still have a couple of reliable high-end assets such as @Jake Sumner The Great, their young roster is starting to show its weaknesses and the standings are an indication of that. While the Rush don't seem destined to make a push for the playoffs this season, there are still some positives to draw from. Rookie @Alex_J32 Alex Johnston is quietly making a name for himself  and surely will be a top target in the upcoming Dispersal Draft this summer.  Meanwhile, winger @hockeyis66 Jaromir Lemieux and defenseman @JB123 Nathan Powers both look to be great draft picks and will undoubtedly be key pieces to the Rush going forward into Season 78. You can be sure that Yukon management will be working the phones heading into the trade deadline to try and sell off any rental players they can in order to prepare for their promising future.

Coming back in at number 10 is the Philadelphia Reapers. After stumbling out of the gate this season, the Reapers have at least stabilized themselves somewhat. Much like Yukon, and the other teams in the bottom four, the Reapers will be focused on rebuilding their team for the future. It may be tough, as they don't have a ton of players returning to the fold next season, however they do have three second round picks along with their first rounder as well. Additionally, they still have the league's leading scorer @glass Kjell Nilsson. As noted early throughout this article, there are some teams in dire need of some supplemental offense. Nilsson will provide that, and then some. If they manage to get some more assets before the deadline, they could put themselves in a much better place heading into Season 78, but they will still need to do their homerun and hit on their draft picks.

Well well well, look who got themselves a goaltender. And just like that the Kings are rising through the VHLM Power Rankings! While they are up one spot this week, make no mistake, it's rebuild season in Mexico, but that's okay! Since the acquisition of goaltender @ThatsGreissy Bastian Greiss, the Kings have gone 7-10-2, and clearly have shown they are much more competent then their record indicates. Unfortunately, it's going to be too little, too late, as the roster still has glaring deficiencies. Rookie defenseman @v.2 Tui Sova continues to impress fans and front office executives alike, as his development has been nothing short of amazing. He seems poised to be a high-end draftee in both the VHL and VHLM drafts this offseason. Slovenian winger @McKelvie Anze Miklavz has also shown a ton of growth and isn't far behind Sova.

And finally we have the barren wasteland that is the Ottawa Lynx. From going to having multiple defensemen, to having none at all, the Lynx are going in the wrong direction yet again. While it can be hard to keep your team engaged and interested at times, seeing multiple players drop off a team to inactivity is never a good sign and at some point you have to wonder if there's a lack of management or leadership in Ottawa. There are currently six players on their roster, two of which are technically inactive and should be dropped, which would bring them down to four players. It's sad state of affairs, and what's worse is I have barely seen any attempts to even sign players over the past couple of weeks. I feel bad for the players that are there and still grinding away. They deserve better.

Well folks that's another Power Rankings in the books. Thanks for reading. Agree with the rankings? Disagree? Do you feel I did the #BOATGANG dirty again? Discuss below, I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. Until next time, stay safe out there and take care!

    1. We have been working hard all season to be the best we can be. Everyone single one of us has contributed on the score sheet and we are all working super hard on and off the ice.

    2. I would have to say Jockesson. He’s been a machine on the back end and eating up a lot of assists!

    3. Yes. They might have a better record but they don’t have the same depth we do. Are depth is super strong.

    4. Just to always be positive in the locker room because if the season starts off bad it can always turn around.

    5. I don’t watch a lot of reality tv but I’ve been watching the show Big Brother and I’ve loved it

    6. Spiders. Those things are super creepy and would never have one of those as a pet.

One week ago, the Miami Marauders sat fifth in the Eastern Conference, very much on the outside of the playoff picture.

However, a remarkable run of form has seen the Florida-based club grab a firm hold of second spot in their division, and the team looks to be a tough proposition for the whole VHLM at the present time.

Since dropping a 2-1 contest to the Minnesota Storm in game 118 of the VHLM season, the Marauders have gone on a 15-1-1 run, falling only to the Mississauga Hounds in overtime, and the Saskatoon Wild in regulation.

Several of the Marauders leading players, including Alexander the Great @Shiny, Noah Mashford @Mashy, Napoleon Bonaparte @CptSquall, Trevor Wallace @LilHCorny and Jan Hlozek, have turned around their form and are willing the South Beach club to victory.

"I was standing here one week ago and complaining that we were outside the playoffs. Now look at us. I think the guys have truly bought in, and now we're seeing the benefits," Hlozek told reporters after Miami's 4-2 victory over the Yukon Rush.

The Czech defenseman, who is in likely his final season in the VHLM, also praised the performance of goaltender @ClapbombsRus over recent games.

"He's been incredible. He's given us a chance to win every night recently, and it's been a massive help," Hlozek said.

The Marauders face off against the Las Vegas Aces and the Minnesota Storm in their next two games.

    1. Absolutely. All the lines are clicking in the right ways and we have been unstoppable in the latest games.

    2. I’m pretty sure we are second in our division. I want us to be leading our division and soon that will happen. I expect us to win it all, I know our group of guys this season is super strong so I expect us to win it all.

    3. My favourite part about being a Marauder is playing in front of such an amazing fan base. The barn can get quite electrifying some times, espiecally during the playoffs.

    4. Honestly, with the way we’ve been playing as of late I think we would be solid without one but I wouldn’t be upset if we did add on. It would just add on to the depth that we already have.

    5. Probably go lay out on a beach and swim.

    6. Broccoli for sure.

    1. It’s very frustrating. I know we have a good team with a lot of good players. I know we should be one of the top teams in the league so to see us going through this funk is very frustrating.

    2. I mean, I hope so. But i think if we don’t turn this funk around it’ll be very hard to make the playoffs.

    3. I think If I can keep adding onto my face offs and defense that’ll improve my player a lot. It will also help us win important face offs and help us in the defensive zone.

    4. I think I connect well with almost everyone on the team. There isn’t a specific person, I think I get along with everyone equally.

    5. I don’t mind Banana Bread but it isn’t my favourite.

    6. Ariana Grande. She’s hot asf.

    1. We sadly didn’t come out with the win. The hounds are going to be a good team this year, they might’ve beat us but I still think we are the better team.

    2. I think Alex or Bonaparte will lead our team in points but I hope I can be up there with them in points.

    3. It’s super important. The start of this season is going to be huge and every game will matter.

    4. Probably the Las Vegas Aces, I played for them for one year and was getting little to none ice time. Not fun.

    5. My favourite type of pie is pumpkin pie, besides spending time with family pumpkin pie is my favourite thing about Thanksgiving.

    6. Yes, I celebrate Easter. I used to love going on Easter egg hunts on Easter morning. Used to be my favourite.

    1. We played very well in those 3 games. But gotta give it to Matt he was a brick wall and it was awesome to see him playing the way he did.

    2. Probably Hot Chocolate. It was a hard decision because I like them both but I like hot chocolate just a little bit more lol.

    3. I have no idea, didn’t know about a trade like that going down.

    4. Probably getting a hockey stick.

    5. Honestly I just think about what I could have done better in that situation and then just do what I should’ve done the first time .

    1. I do believe we are improving more and more each game, so yes I think we should make top 3 in the standings by the end of the season.

    2. Typically I celebrate my Christmas with my friends and family.

    3. I totally agree with that, I think we will be underestimated going in to the playoffs and I’m hoping we prove everyone wrong.

    4. Yes I 100% do and I wouldn’t be surprised if they paid off the officials with their drug money.

    5. My favourite video game is probably GTA. I don’t really know why but I like how you can do heists and buy super nice cars and houses.

    6. I’m not really sure yet because this is my second season in the vhlm but probably for right now @JigglyGumballs sorry don’t hate me😬

    Dear VHL Community,
Hi, my name is Marc, or I guess all of you know me as Hex Rose. This past week for my Fiancée and I has been incredibly hard for us as pet owners. This past Sunday, my beloved lost her first bird, Pika. Pika was my Fiancée's baby essentially. While Pika never liked me, she was still such a character and I loved her. Then today, while I was at work, I received a text from my Fiancée saying that my dear hamster Jiggles had past away... He was such a funny hamster and I loved him so much...
That's not to mention a lot of other hardships that have befallen us this week, from car issues, to thanksgiving disasters, etc.
Despite everything we still love each other no matter what....
Please, make sure to always hug and tell the people and pets you care about that you love them. You never know when you may never see them again...
I also write this to thank you all for this amazing league and community. During this past week, it has given me a small but important escape from the shitstorm... You fuckers are an amazing bunch and have genuinely brought me a smile everyday since I've joined.
As a player and now VSN writer, I truly can't thank you all enough for this league. Thank you to Spartan, Jiggs, Hatter, and many others for your help as I grow and also just genuinely being amazing people.
                           Sincerely,
                                 Hex Rose / Marc
